Review Tasca - Coolangatta

The pumpkin gnocchi is to die for! The restaurant itself is tiny, with only about six tables inside and five outside. Bookings can only be done for a party of four or more. Thought in saying that we only waited ten minutes for a table for two on a Saturday night. The drink service was slow but the food came out quick. Well presented dishes of a decent size but delicious. For three dishes and two drinks it came to $101.

Called in for pre New Years drinks and Tapa's. No booking but staff were very happy to accommodate us. Started with cocktails then oysters and Crockett's very nice all round. What a nice way to start the evening, thank you so much to the staff.

A very special place. This is a REAL stand out. Capital city level dining and service, with small town friendliness, charm and personality. Beautifully presented food, balanced and finely tuned. Really wouldn't be surprising to be served some of these dishes in big name farm to table restaurants. Great natural wines on offer. And a beautiful, intimate space. I really think these guys didn't get a hat or two in the next couple of years.

Really nice italian restaurant in the heart of Coolangatta. The servings were generous and thoughtfully crafted with fresh ingredients. I had the side greens with goats cheese and satay dressing which was superb. The staff were very attentive and had a great cocktail list. Mind you that there isn't a lot of seating so getting in early is a smart move.

Great that there was a selection of natural wines by the glass, but most were too clean for my taste. I wish there was more variety in character in that list. The food was very nice. One thing I would say, is that the beef dish was a bit too salty and over cooked. Still overall, 3.5 rounding up to 4.

Tasca always has a great array of unusual wines, specifically orange wines and organics. The charcuterie plate is a must have and though it’s not the cheapest, quality is always sensational. Once you get the to age where Eddies Grub house is just a nightmare, move down the road to somewhere quieter.

Great place. The staff were pretty accommodating. I requested for a dish that wasn't there in the menu at 9PM. With 30 mins to close, they still gave me a vegetarian pasta. :)

If only I could give this six stars. With work I was eating out 200 nights a year for several years. Tasca is the first place I've eaten at in a long time that surprised and impressed me. Firstly, I thought I was headed to yet another Italian restaurant. Nope. From the jalapeno infused cocktail to the amazing spanner crab crumpet, the tastes were new, zesty and a complete surprise. There were no spare tables when we arrived but the staff were happy to seat us at the bar. From the bar we could see all the food prep and cooking areas and there were definitely no hygiene issues. Another surprise was that it is a female dominated work force, another indication of the progressive nature of this business. And the staff were lovely. From the bar the staff will engage in witty banter, answer questions about the food, or leave you to your meal. It's the first time in a long time that I've left a dining experience feeling revitalised and optimistic for the future of our service sector.

These guys are the masters of offering a small menu and executing it to perfection! Exceptional food with amazing flavour and texture combinations. Quality selection of wines, and a cocktail list to die for. Fantastic atmosphere, and an innovative and efficient use of a small space. Attentive and genuine service, and quite special to see the owner playing such an active and involved role. A little magic from the old converted magic store definitely resides here.

The food is simply the best! The menu changes frequently, so going back often doesn’t become predictable. The staff is wonderful - friendly and good at what they do.

Came here for a dinner for one. Was seated at the bar, lovely staff guided me through the menu, made suggestions and made me feel welcome. Great food, delish gin cocktail, yummy wine. Thank you, I’ll be back.

Amazing little gem. Walked past every night this week and every night it was bustling. We decided it was where we wanted to spend our anniversary dinner and we are so glad we did. We were walk ins right in peak time on a Friday night and staff didn't hesitate in accommodating us the moment we walked in. Amazing food, gnocchi and cheese croquettes particularly worth a drive from Brisbane for, exceptional staff and service and an atmosphere well suited for any occasion. Cannot wait to visit coolangatta again just so I can visit Tasca once again. Don't change a thing!

Visited over the opening weekend, place has an amazing intimate vibe, we had some tapas and stone and wood on tap was a winner for me while my partner tried the cocktails, they've definitely nailed the drinks list and looking forward to some regular date nights to work through the wine list in the future!

Beautiful food, lovely mix of old world wines with some classic Aussie drops and wonderful staff. Loved it!
