Warm, fluffy and flaky brioche straight out of the oven with a cup of perfect coffee. Thank you Il Lido, I could’ve imagine a more perfect way to start my morning. The amazing service from the staff and beautiful food has won us over. We look forward to Il Lido being our regular breakfast hangout xxx
Amazing food, wine and service. I highly recommend trying this place!! And ask for suggestions on food I'm please I did 😊
Great place to drink and eat! Whether it’s coffee & breakfast, or yummy Italian cucina povera like their risotto.
Love the food, wine, space... and the staff just add that extra special touch!
Absolutely LOVE this place. The location is fantastic, the food is amazing, the wine is the absolute best and the staff are brilliant. We've actually been twice in the past 2 days! Thank you Il Lido!
One of my favourite restaurants. Came here yesterday for my birthday lunch with my husband and baby. The staff were accomodating (we had a pram) and friendly, food was great and the service was quick. Crab linguine and the Italian summer cocktail are delish!
A party of 8 of us had a meal at Il Lido on Saturday night. The food was amazing. Each one of us raved about their meal. Not a single person was disappointed. Will definitely return in the future
Had breakfast with hubby on Saturday. Still day dreaming of the Duck and Waffle I had. One of the best dishes I've eaten. Will be back very soon.
Compliments to the chefs for a fantastic 4 course Valentine’s dinner. Every course was consistently perfect and we had an amazing meal.
The menu was amazing and the food was delicious. Service was excellent. I will definitely go back :)

A quick business lunch yesterday..the view of the ocean was superb my colleague had the gnocchi I had the octopus both were absolutely divine... the house wines were very pleasant and the service spot on...we'll be back 😊
Amazing food, the best, our new favourite. Came here 2 days in a row. Can't wait to come again
Nigroni was great. Wish I had been there for the $10 happy hour. We all shared the antipasto dishes and it was great way to enjoy the night. Will go again when in town!
My mornign coffe is the highlight of the day especially on Sat & Sndays which I normally push bike from East freo to the Cott for it. I always happy and content after got my cuppa delivered, despit my coffee order has a rather confusing instructions: Skiny, hot, double shot, half water half milk, in a small take away cup and I always go back to the canteen for extra hot water top up!!! They alway smile and don't get grumpy despite thery are very busy bees there, which is very important for cutomers...well done guys keep the good work...I will be there next weekend if I am still alive! :)
Love, love, love. My first time there. Excellent food and even better, excellent service.
Always enjoy popping into Il Lido even just for a latte. Nice atmosphere and lovely, friendly staff. I will be back
We came down here for some espresso martinis by the sea and they did not disappoint😍 we also had some bread, oil and balsamic vinegar and the bread was super fresh!
Came on a Friday morning for brunch. We enjoyed everything we had, flat whites, pana cotta with poached pear and duck waffle. It's a beautiful relaxed location across the road from the beach. If service came with a few more smiles, it would been perfect.
Great food and even better service! Go and see Freya or any of the staff for the experience that I had! Highly recommend the pork and veal Ragu.
A must if you are in Perth! The most memorable and fresh Italian pasta. We went twice during our stay in WA. On Sundays they have an oyster bar - great fresh oysters! Great atmosphere, my only negative is the service was not as inviting as the food.
All I can say is wow! This place is phenomenal for the food and exceptional customer service. I was dining on my own (which is quite daunting) but I had the best experience with the bar staff making me feel so welcome and not alone. I commend you all for making this a lovely dining experience with great suggestions on the food and wine selection. Please try this restaurant when you are in Cottesloe as it will be unforgettable!
Great staff here. It is a lovely space with high ceilings and great views. Coffee was ok. The breakfast meals were excellent - the cauliflower and corn fritters and the beetroot meals were generous and really tasty. The other meals looked great too.
We came here for a friend’s birthday lunch celebration. The food here are very tasty and we totally enjoy it. The pasta dish with crab meat was delicious. Average service but lovely ambience.
I popped into this restaurant on our way back from a morning walk on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was busy but we were able to be seated at one of the long tables in the large hall like area. Lovely decor, vibe and music playing. My partner and I shared the banana bread and the orange pistachio cake, both were delicious. Coffee was also good. My only negative was the service. We were served by four different waitresses during our time there, and apart from one, the rest could have been more friendly. It just seemed that they didn’t want to be there and that we were a burden in a sense.
The menu was simple but perfect. We ordered the ravioli (definitely my fave), crab linguine, sword fish then ended it with the olive oil semifreddo. And boy were we impressed! Everything was super tasty, I just wished the ravioli was never ending!
The staff were super friendly as well. We will be back for sure!
Had the best time last night at Il Lido, this place needs to be voted Perth’s best restaurant as soon as possible! The service was amazing, very knowledgeable about food and wine! The food was out of this world. Was my 4th time visiting and everytime has been perfect! Can’t wait to return again soon!
This place always seems to be full and buzzing, especially on the weekends. We had a lazy tapas style lunch for two, sharing the common loaf bread, arancini (tasty), burrata (delicious but on the small side) and crab linguine (pretty good). Food is definitely a little on the pricier side but the quality is there. Atmosphere is lovely (being right by the ocean makes for great views), service staff are on the ball and the menu is interesting and varied. Will definitely be back soon to try their set dinner menu which looked very promising.
Holidaying in Perth, we wanted to venture out to a classy Italian joint. Il Lido was highly rated on the online magazines. We entered and it sounded like a market! Way too crowded but luckily we had a booking.
The service was great and the food was spectacular. Despite the need for earplugs we thoroughly enjoyed the pasta, chicken and the chips. Everything was cooked to perfection and the taste was out of this world.
I would highly recommend this place for a drink or a dinner but get there early, before the noise kicks in.
One of the best Italian I’ve been to. The sirloin was cooked to perfection and topped with the most delicious sauce. Quite expensive but well worth it.
Had the best ravioli here for dinner! Ravioli with buffalo mozzarella, stracciatella cheese, kale & pistachios in a butter & sage sauce. Was so delicious you must try it! The sauce was so creamy and flavourful as was the cheesey ravioli filling. We also had Snapper Cappoccio with riddicuo salad - very tasty! The LS Syrah wine from Margaret River WA was also really beautiful.
The service was fantastic, everyone is so helpful and friendly. Ambience was lovely, we sat at the bar whilst watching the sun set. I really can't fault anything in terms of taste/service, however the prices are a bit overboard. Nonetheless thank you for a lovely evening!
While you’re at Sculpture By the Sea wander across the road to Il Lido Italian Canteena. I did just that last year and plan a repeat trip this year. By the time I’d looked at all the sculptures on the beach it was time for lunch. Since I’d worked up a real appetite I figured I could carb up with the seafood marinara. Fresh pasta and the perfect amount of sauce. Photos copyright The Ponder Room
I’ve based my score on location and the food choices of the other people I was with. I ordered the gnocchi which was really well cooked but was paired with quite a bland tomato sauce. The portion size was not filling enough either. Others I was with ordered the crab linguini (not pictured) and the sausage orecchiette and both were eaten down happily. The winner of the meal for me was the mushroom risotto and I already have it picked out for my next visit to Il Lido! It was stunningly creamy and the crunch of the pine nuts through it topped it off perfectly.
Greatest coffee in Cottesloe. We haven’t been here for dinner yet but it’s really good for a weekend brunch. Service was friendly and helpful.
So glad we came here!
We didn't make a reservation for lunch (on Father's Day!) but were very lucky that they found space for us. I'm so glad that they did.
Everything was delicious and the service was quick and friendly.
Left very satisfied and looking forward to returning.
Excellent food, drinks and service. I had an incredible gnocchi with their house chips. Excellent food and overall really good experience. 8/10 across the board.
FOOD
Crab linguine with chilli, capers, tomato, lemon & fennel from @illidoperth ($34) 🍝
• Good serve of pasta with big chunks of juicy crab meat. All too often when I've ordered a crab pasta recently, I get shredded crab meat stirred into the sauce which causes a loss of texture and flavour
• Light, tangy sauce and plenty of it
• Texture of the pasta was good but the taste was average compared to other handmade pastas in Perth
• Tiramisu was similar to Ciao's in terms of sweetness and creaminess though Ciao's is a bit more soft/mushy due to all that extra pouring cream
SERVICE
• Even though it was past 12 when we arrived, the place was fairly busy and there was always a wait to get the attention of the waiters. Once they were ready to serve you though, they were friendly and helpful :)
• After paying the bill, we noticed that the front of house at the cashier had included coffees we did not drink in the bill. When we informed him that we had asked to cancel them and been told it was fine to do so by the waitstaff, he kept repeating the cost of the coffees instead of offering us a refund for them as a courtesy. Although he did refund the drinks, the exchange was a bit awkward and made for an unpleasant end to a pleasant meal
When a place is really cared about, it shows in a big way. The food was outstanding at Il Lido. It was fresh, cooked to perfection, flavoursome and finely presented. We had three courses, and each was perfect. I love the attention to detail, where nothing is an afterthought. No tired garnishes or 'fridgey' desserts in this place. Every single detail is carefully considered.
Good basic Italian food in a busy atmosphere, probably over priced in particular the wine list.....it's really over priced, this place is well targeted at the western suburbs, good spot for those lazy locals who are happy to pay $30+ for a bowl of pasta and have a 5 min drive home.
Really beautiful food for both dinner and breakfast. There's a great ambience too and the mess hall style layout gives the place a nice vibe. My only negative is that service is sometimes a little slow.
Always consistent, great wine & delicious food. Bread with the buffalo mozzarella, so simple but delicious. Clams are a hit. The crab linguini is always a favourite. Perfect mid week date night.
Excellent Service made this experience memorable. From the first enquiry the staff were extremely helpful. Food was simple Italian food done extremely well. Great set up with an excellent array of wines- would be a great place to sit all day and eat your way through their antipasto dishes while drinking several bottles of wine!
Consistently above average coffee is what keeps me coming back. Seriously needs to update the breakfast menu please, more savoury pescetarian options would be much appreciated! Their sicilian tarts are the BEST (like portuguese tarts but just a bit sweeter), you definitely should check out the cabinet of food near the coffee machine which is easy to miss. Sitting outside with a view of Cott is such an amazing start to the day. The main hostess is one of the best going round, and pretty much all the other staff are really great, too, service leaves little to be desired. Ambiance, lovely, have had more than a few random chats and pats.
Came ons weekday to avoid the weekend madhouse that this institution is! Great flavours on minimalistic looking dishes served up by the kitchen,
Had a nice dinner here last night! The pork was juicy, tender and delicious and the crab linguine was also very tasty. Even though it was a relatively busy night, the service was pretty good. Overall, a lovely night with a great ambience.
So good! Great staff, amazing food! I'll be back. Had the beetroot risotto, it was creamy, full of flavour, well balanced and a great size. The salted mousse was to die for!

The best staff in Perth! The staff here were friendly and accomodating and the food was decent too! I had the ravioli which tasted great! Will be coming back again!
Beautiful risotto! Looks out to Cottesloe beach but be prepared to spend time looking for a parking spot if you go during peak times. Lovely vibe and friendly service. We were once teased there for canoodling too much lol!
A really happening place right by the beach. Luckily the food is as good as the atmosphere. It may be a little overpriced for the portion sizes but probably what you expect from a restaurant right by the beach in Cott. Dinner here is great and breakfast will also hit the spot. A menu with some different items that may peak interest. I ordered the Bircher and it was the prettiest most colourful thing! Bit awkward not knowing whether to wait for a server or just sit down at breakfast time and after waiting for a while another customer told me to just grab a seat or they'll never seat me, so did as told and eventually someone came over with menus.
Dined this evening on late notice luckily we could get a table for two. Very relaxed and set the mood type of experience. It was dark for the oldies as they couldn't read the menus was quite funny. Oysters were fresh and decent sized , clams were very tastey indeed paired with chunks of prosciutto and bread. Washing it back with a very nice italian white wine which was recommended by a very knowledgeable waiter. Spanish mackrel and lamb for the mains which was shared between me and my partner which was top quality. Fresh , flavour and comfort is what Il Lido is all about.
A friend picked il Lido for a get together on Sunday morning. Good call !
Everyone enjoyed their breakfast. Coffee was excellent, food superb. Generous servings and every element fresh and perfectly cooked. Great menu.
One of the best parts of the experience was the staff, friendly and very attentive. Water glasses constantly refilled. Food and drinks served promptly. Any extra requests attended to immediately. Big tables with plenty of room to move around.
And the prices are very fair for such good quality.
I'll be coming back.
My first 5!!
Today’s service was as good as it gets. Fantastic.
Lunch - shared dishes - was delicious. The wine we tasted was perfect, so we ordered a couple of glasses of that to make everything even better.
The view of Cottesloe beach is stunning and the cafe's a whole lot more enjoyable on week days, when it's not jammed with customers.
Delicious and interesting fresh take on Italian cafe food. Not cheap but decent value. From what I know good wine list. Try the octopus salad.
Had breakfast here.. Fancy and different.. Not really much I would chose from, ended with the Beetroot cured trout. Absolutely delicious. Make their own kombucha great range of flavours, best I've had.
We were shown to one of the communal tables for a Sunday lunch but felt forgotten about once seated as no one returned to take our order for ages. I tried to catch a waiter's attention for ages and after awhile finally someone noticed me. Maybe they thought we were part of the other group we were seated next to. Who knows but I am pleased to say it improved greatly from there. The two of us shared a few plates - octopus chickpea salad, clams, and mozzarella with tomato. I've had the clam dish before and love it. They leave some small pieces of bread in the bowl to mop up the tasty sauce. We then shared a pasta - lamb with eggplant and sage butter. So good! We had a cocktail each which our waitress did have to chase up as bit of a delay but all in all once we received table service the staff were helpful and lovely. The dessert wine recommended melted in my mouth. Always good food here and I enjoyed the ambience for a leisurely Sunday lunch
I have been twice in the last month and would 100% recommend Il Lido. Impeccable, knowledgable service and truly divine food. They have seriously nailed it!
Beautiful food, great service, great atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend! Salted caramel mousse was delicious, as was the tagliatelle, and the wine!
I always bring my special friends here. Top shelf lunch or dinner. Good service, prices can be a bit high but worth the taste and quality. Always find me a seat without question. Can get busy and then the device slows - enjoy the view.
Great decor but very busy.
Had to call over a waitress to take our order after waiting a while. The waiters don't seem overly good at remembering orders- they should consider writing it down maybe!
The brioche and preserves was great! The porridge was tasty and interesting texture with the grains.
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 possibly the best wine and cocktail list in perth. Food also amazing. 👍👍 the staff were lovely and always accommodating. It might be a bit expensive but you pay for what you get.
Brilliant food, great vibe and excellent service. The risotto balls were some of the best I've had while the goat was absolutely delicious. The chocolate tart with hazelnut ice cream was also superb. Yum, yum, yum.
Just outstanding!
I'm not a fan of the communal style of dining that is Il Lido but for the food, wine and service I will happily go every day of the week. It is simply brilliant.
The food is glorious, try the orecchiette or indeed any of the pasta dishes, the risotto, fabulous, and the antipasto terrific. Amazing wine list particularly the Italian selection and while not cheap the staff know their stuff and will happily recommend and provide a taste before you buy. The staff look casual and relaxed but are very attentive and know the menu
It's simply very, very good.
Lido is in a fabulous location across from Cottesloe Beach. High ceilings, wine lined walls and communal wooden tables make for a warm and pleasant dining space. The service is slick and the pasta is sensational.
We tried the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli, the maltagliati with a veal and pork ragu with pecorino and finished off the carb fest with a bowl potatoes with garlic and rosemary. Would have licked the pasta plates if we weren't in public so had to content ourselves with wiping them clean with the potatoes.
It's reasonably priced and well worth repeat visits.
Great friendly service and communal tables. I had a negroni, the polpettes to start with, the sirloin for main and chocolate tart for desert. All dishes well presented and steak well cooked as ordered. Only thing, the place gets really loud.
Went to I'l Lido for a late lunch and started with the patter with a trio of meats and pickled vegetables - went beautifully with out drinks (I had the 'Italian Summer' cocktail). We also got a couple of dishes to share, but there was a mix up and the kitchen forgot our dishes. The lady that served us was very apologetic and offered us free desserts. As we weren't in any hurry & we're chatting the afternoon away we didn't mind (& who doesn't like a free dessert?) for mains we had the crab pasta with chilli, tomato and fennel and the pear with pine nut cheese, caramelised onion, radish, walnuts & greens. Perfect combinations and fresh tasty food! For sweets I have the pistachio and olive oil cake with mascarpone.
Super nice wait staff working. Extensive wine list. Reasonable prices. Great for tapas or main meals. Ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce and the mushroom and ricotta ravioli. I would go back for sure.
Breakfast at Il Lido has seriously disappointed me in the past but I left this visit a very happy customer :). Service has majorly improved since my last visit and my bircher muesli was to die for – perfect texture, taste and serving size. Absolutely no complaints!. Beautiful beachside location.
Very impressed with this restaurant which has a great location. We were with a party of 16 on Saturday night, the whole restaurant was fully booked and the staff were fantastic. Service was excellent, food was exceptional and we did not wait long for anything. They cleared away quickly, kept our water glasses fun, could not fault anything. The ambiance is excellent with long tables seating various groups, floor to ceiling wine racks and views out of the window towards the sea. We had lots of shared tapas plates and my main was the king prawn risotto which was excellent.
Went here for breakfast. Had the spicy sausage and added eggs to it. Was amazing EXCEPT the poached eggs were overcooked. The 3 other people I was with had the same thing. Everyone loved their meals except 8 out of 8 eggs had hard yolks! The coffee was fantastic, the atmosphere and location was lovely. The service started off great, then became very slow at the end. Must mention as well that for breakfast, the price was quite steep! Overall...would return & you have to try the coffee.
Look, I am a big fan of fresh handmade pasta and am on the prowl often for it. Il Lido's pasta tastes amazing - most recently I've had the papperdelle. It was a great texture - dense, bouncy, ooo... I am craving more. The mince ragu was tasty, flavour packed. 5/5 for pasta (note: do not like the hibiscus tea..) Great views though not exactly on the beach (Il Lido, if only you could buy over the premises of the Indiana). I think I could describe the decor as "posh indoor picnic". 4/5 for setting. Not a fan of the service, lots of young waiters chatting behind the bar during lunch, not many/any paying attention to waiting customers. 2/5 for service. I think they have really good food..but I'd say the experience of a meal there is overpriced to me particularly because their service has been a letdown the few times I've visited.
We are often put off by the crowd around the entrance that seems to have no direction but yesterday we asked an amazing waitress of we could sit outside. With amazing views of Cottesloe beach the waitress took our coffee order and we shared two yummy plates for a delicious brunch. The coffees took a while so the waitress didn't charge us for the beautiful coffees. We had a plate of creamy buffalo mozzarella with grilled peach and shredded basil and the other plate was amazing veal and pork meatballs served on a a colourful selection of perfectly roasted vegetables. A very memorable and incredibly tasty light lunch. The waitress provided the best service we can we can remember. Certainly will return to try more shared plates.
I walk away happy every time I visit. For the first time I had dinner here, and I was so happy with the service and the food. The waiter knew his wine, and the waitress was more than accommodating with gluten free options. il lido has finess but still manages a relaxed beach culture. The guests are always friendly - a true reflection of the atmosphere this restuarant creates.
The mushroom ragu of wheat berry, slow cooked garlic and tomato, served on toast is indubitably a savoury dish with strong garlic and roasted flavours. This dish has traditional flavours all over and it was filling and warming,
Wonderful dinner experience with a good friend of my last night. Start to finish the service, food and ambiance we spot on. A tad on the pricier side but that's to be expected in its location. Meals came out in a timely well paced fashion and there was never a feeling that you were over waited upon.
Only dampener was a table of 4 new money obnoxious 30 somethings that thought they were the only ones in the restaurant
I love Italian food and the recent spate of perfect Spring days was just screaming out for a lovely lunch. So GG and I decided we’d finally get ourselves to Il Lido in Cottesloe over the long weekend. Located on Marine Parade it overlooks the stunning Cottesloe beach, which had a lot more brave bodies in the water than I had anticipated on a day in the mid 20s. I say brave because the temp would likely have to be a good 10 degrees higher for me to think about swimming. I like the land.
I remember this place for the best gluten free chocolate cake of my life. It came with honeycomb and was earth-shatteringly good. Unfortunately none of the mains were amazing. Dishes were beautifully presented and I recall struggling to choose between a few good sounding dishes. It's been a while since I've been back. I would try again but not in any great rush as it is quite expensive and I don't think I've quite gotten over the "bland" that I experienced...
Excellent food, excellent service in well to do Cottesloe, but it still manages to have a relaxed yet classy atmosphere. Best gnocchi in Perth nom nom
Stopped in here after cycling 45km. Needed food. And coffee. I ordered the pasta dish with veal and pork ragout (name starts with M but the rest escapes me). It may have been my famished state, but it was brilliant! The tomato base ragout was sweet and wonderfully seasoned. The veal and pork giving it depth and balance.
My only issue was my flat white was forgotten. The wait staff were very apologetic, and gave the late arrival flat white free of charge.
Funky scene inside. Delightful scenery outside.
Well worth a return visit.
My Husband and I visited for cocktails and a few small bites to eat for our first wedding anniversary as we celebrated here on our wedding day. Lovely staff and fast service. Delicious cocktails. We always order the bread and we love it, tried the pickled octopus as well this time and it was so tasty.
Fantastic food and a phenomenal wine list to match! I love the long table dining they offer and the atmosphere is so enjoyable. Service wasn’t amazing hence the loss of a star. I’ll definitely be back to try some more of the menu!
A lovely little spot. We stopped by after a long day on the beach for a quick coffee & bite to eat. So many great options on the menu & the food was delicious. We sat outdoors & had a lovely view of the sunset. The staff were super friendly & attentive too. Can’t wait to come back already!
Very friendly and attentive service. The menu is quite extensive, the wine list is huge. The food is good. Atmosphere is vibrant and worth coming back for.
We went here for a family breakfast to celebrate a birthday.
It was very busy, creating an energetic vibe and a nice atmosphere.
There was a selection of breakfast options on the menu and the food was good.
The only disappointing thing is that it's not particularly child friendly.
They don't have highchairs, so our 16 month old grandson had to stay in his pram, making it more difficult for his parents.
Absolute 5.0 - Great food, great service, great ambiance! We went for dinner for two on a Wednesday and the place is bustling. Ordered the charred octopus, venison tagliatelle, tiramisu and cappucino. Tagliatelle was perfect: love the sauce and the pasta was cooked perfectly (not too soft, not too hard). Octopus was a little on the harder side, but still very delicious. The tiramisu is to die for, especially with the tiny chocolate pieces inside it! The staff were really friendly and parking is very convinient. We skipped the wine this time, but will give them a go next time. Definitely will be back again (and again).
Absolutely fabulous. Went twice for lunch and definitely will return for more meals. Excellent service from the staff. Food were well presented and yummy.
Booked a table but was a bit thrown off that first we waited at the bar, unnoticed only to be told to go to the restaurant pedastal and waiting for longer to be noticed. Once noticed it was much better. Had the salumi starter followed by the risotto. Food was good though a little on the salty side. Staff were happy to engage and extremely friendly once seated in the Canteen style seating arrangement. Would go again.
