Kudos to Kate ... another very successful wine & dine concept that's just right for those looking for a casual, classy experience. Perfect experience for single, small or mid size groups.
Our 1st night here & was fab.. awesome wine selection, divine tapas, excellent friendly service. We travelled a fair way from the hills as a treat for the family & was well worth the effort
Such a good early drinks we were given a $50 birthday voucher and cannot say how good it was -staff were awesome especially the front house lady -we will be back for a drink and good food night - thank you everyone
Fantastic place to enjoy some Select Wines and great food John really knows his Business , Cheers
Food amazing, wine delicious and friendly people. A must-go when in Perth!
This has to be one of the best tapas places in Perth. We've recently celebrated our wedding here and returned for dinner last night and could not fault the service we've received on both occasions. Our guests have raved about the food and venue. We wouldn't change a single thing about our wedding and Lamont's made it simply perfect. Special mention must go to Erin Larkin & John Jens, what you did for us on the day was wonderful, thank you. Keep doing what you're doing guys, because it's brilliant. Jess & Shane
Always beautiful service and food just delicious
Great venue with magnificent food and warm service
The service here is just stunning. They are very mindful and accommodating even how crowded the place could be. Lamont’s never fails to impress me with their service.
I have tried their food many times, be it for a wine tasting event with canpes or a wine tasting dinner with a set menu. It has always been excellent.
Will be there for the next event for sure!
Our local favourite. Never had a bad experience at Lamont's. We enjoy the restrained servings of delicious food that adequately satisfies the pallet, tempting you for more. Great service and the ambience is cosy, warm and intimate.
Visited Lamont's for a delightful fortified wones masterclass. $35 for 8 tastings and canapes. Oh my goodness the pours were generous. Generous is an under statement. The mini bites served were delicious, my favourite being the smooth pâté. We also got a mini lesson on the history of Lamonts and the fortified wine process. A very enjoyable afternoon indeed!
On Sunday, I closed my fashion boutique in Guildford a tad early, and jumped on the train to attend a Picardy wine tasting at Lamont’s Wine store in Cottesloe. We were treated to a fine array of wines – my pick was the Merlimont, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet. Lovely red fruit aromas, mulberries and black currant – magically smooth on the palate – a truly elegant wine.
Some of the best small plates Perth has to offer - Highly Recommended. We've been coming to Lamonts in Cott for years and it is yet to disappoint. The Shark Bay Whiting and Creme Caramel are incredible. Do yourself a favour.
Totally enjoyed the dining experience at Lamont's. The tapas are delicious, and perfect to share amongst friends. The food was cooked to perfection. The wait service upon arrival was a bit slow, it took a long time to get drinks. The food menu offered a great range, the food is beautifully presented, and it tastes delicious. I have made a plan to dine here again soon.
Wow what a lovely evening for my birthday, I chose the half bottle of champagne to start, lovely. Then moved on to a bunch of tapas plates, all good but the barramundi was outstanding. I then asked for the management to suggest their best chablis, he offered 3 choices. The first wasn't quite what I was looking for (too feminine) even though it was quite expensive. I then asked if I could try the others, he frowned a little noting it will be impossible to sell the one he had just opened but then bought out the best bottle of chablis ive ever tasted. Well done Mr Lamont you made my 44th birthday wonderful...
I love this place. It's got to be one of the best places to enjoy an amazing bottle of wine at a bargain price. The food has never disappointed either. So many great tapas dishes to eat.
Lamont's is always a delight to visit. Wine is first class and food is beautifully seasonal with gorgeous flavour combinations. If you are lucky enough to be dining when John Jens (JJ) is around, it is well worth having a chat and getting a beautiful wine selected just for you. I love that it is tucked away in Cott but also has a lovely ambience and feel. Perfect for Sunday arvo vino with friends.
Consistently Beautiful. We love Lamonts. We have had many a beautiful meal here and continue to be impressed by the consistently fresh and beautifully cooked food.
We like to sample a few of their tapas style dishes but need to excersise a little self control in order to leave room for their steak. Not a lot of places have a good quality beef fillet on their menu anymore, due to the sheer cost, so we find ourselves frequenting Lamonts and are never disappointed.
Very reasonably priced for the quality and focus on local produce. Love the 2011 Ostler Pinot Noir. Couldn't resist grabbing a bottle on the way out. If you can fit it in, their deserts are beautiful. Was nice to see Kate on the pans during our most recent visit.
Setting is a bit lack lustre and uninviting. Beef cheeks and duck parfait were both delicious. The whiting tempura was bland and not very crispy. Very disappointed the famous pavlova was not on the menu anymore.
Great place never been disappointed,
Friendly Servive, excellent Food
A subtle pleasure. There are a number of reasons I recommend Lamont's Cottesloe.
Service is fast and friendly.
Venue is cool (temperature) and not overly bright (lighting), which I prefer.
Wine selection is excellent, with prices ranging from affordable to extravagant.
I haven't tried any of the extravagantly priced wines, but keep them in mind if you happen to see me there and want to shout me a bottle that costs more than a jet ski.
Casual but Special!. Introduced to this place by hubby on our special night. Find this place is quite exclusive, special but casual. They serve spectacular big range of wines and good champagnes. Foods are served withour much effort of plating. Just simply, fresh foods on the plate. This is our kind of restaurant ... serving good foods but with freindly atmosphere.
Beautiful, simple food that came out quickly. The tomato tarte tatin was a highlight.
Solid. We went last night with another couple and were looked after from start to finish. Service was fantastic - to the point our waitress came over and said 'goodbye' and 'thank you' when her shift ended. The food was brought out promptly, and was amazing. Pork Belly = the best we've ever had. Black Angus Pie was a nice little treat. Wine is reasonably priced and a good selection to be had. All in all, a very enjoyable evening. Would highly recommend.
A fantastic place. My wife and I visit each week. Great food, brilliant service and Kate and John are lovely. Be sure to have the Venison chorizo and the Shark Bay Whiting! You won't be disappointed.
Sunday lunch tapas is divine. Four of us came for lunch and while the place wasnt packed, it had a nice feel. Relaxed but sophisticated. And while in rome, we enjoyed The Black Monster with our meal.
Absolutely outstanding. great food on a cute warm atmosphere. polished without being starched. highly recommended, especially those sticky pork cheeks and the crab with pea. love it!
Have been meaning to write this for a while but we were there a month or so ago and absolutely loved it. Cool venue, great food, knowledgable wine service all made for a pretty good night. Do yourselves a favour and visit.
L'adequate. Aesthetics and location aside, the tapas evolved organically and flowed smoothly to the many palates at our table. With a suitable selection of local and South Australian wines at hand, the Syrah Prince could only be pleased with the result. Perhaps some mood lighting?
Very Good. I find it hard to understand the harshly negative reviews I see of Lamonts on Urbanspoon. We ate here in the same week as dining at Red Cabbage in South Perth, and Lamonts was clearly superior. I like the busy disorder of the dining room with cases of newly arrived Pol Roger on the floor, and wine racks on the wall. The food is delightful. We had the tapas menu - the best scallops ever, great crab cakes on green pea mush, the absolutely best chorizo (venison) I have eaten, and some pleasant vegetarian options too. The wine list is interesting and extensive as you would expect, and if you wish to keep the bill down, why go past Sandalford Cab at $42?
Kate Lamont is a legend as far as I am concerned, and the principles of her food have not changed since the start of the Swan Valley eatery: great fresh produce, simply cooked but with tremendous flavour.
Simply Sublime!. My husband and I went to Lamonts last week and it was truly one of the best meals I have ever had. Hubby had venison chorizo and duck parfait and I had the quail and the blue swimmer crab. To finish off, we shared a wagyu steak (I dream of this steak it is so good!) The staff were excellent and attentive, always ready to top up your glass when it was getting low or clear plates. We had asked that our tapas come out one at a time, and they were brought out promptly with no long waiting time between each course. The atmosphere was perfect, we had one of the best (child free!) nights out in a long time and I am kicking myself I didn't buy a few bottles of Lamonts own Methode Champenoise to bring home with me. Luckily you can order online though. I will definitely be back again and highly recommend to everyone.
We always enjoy Lamonts. The food was fantastic -I am still dreaming about the slow cooked tomatoes with goats curd. Beautiful fresh produce cooked to perfection. The wine choices are fantastic and you can try something completely different every time you go. And you should always finish with a lamonts truffle.
Love Lamonts, food is fantastic, wine selection is great & excellent service.
Good selections attentive service great wine choices
If quiet sophistication, excellent food and a diverse, deep cellar is to your liking then Lamont's is hard to beat. My only comment is that I would enjoy a wider offer of select cheeses.
Wonderfully warm service and great wine-focussed food. The pork rillette is to die for. Thanks Kate!
Great Concept. Finally a bit of sophistication has come to the western suburbs. Only problem is that Perth people have an aversion to going out before 7.30??? Why aren't these places busy all day. So if you are thinking of popping in at 5.30 for a glass of wine and a snack be prepared to be the only people there.
Wake up Perth - we need to become more cosmopolitan.
Lamont’s Cottesloe is absolutely a nice place for drinks, chatting with tapas… and spending a great evening with friends !
It was a while back now but I had to give everyone a reminder that on one of the first Sundays of each month this year you should have totally have to get yourself to Lamonts Wine Store in Cottesloe. So on these first Sundays they put on a delicious tapas menu, available for either a lunch or dinner seating and for the bargain price of $75 you get 5 tapas dishes and matched wines with each course. This was my second visit to Lamonts Wine Store in Cottesloe and both times have just been wonderful!
5 Course and 8 Wines
Lunch and Dinner $75 per person
Lunch: Noon – 2.30pm
Dinner: 6pm – 9pm
The menu at Cottesloe consists mostly of tapas dishes including half a dozen items that are available in both tapas and main sizes. We liked the idea of shared plates for lunch. Add a couple of rounds of baguette and glasses of Lamont's Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2012 (AU$9 per glass), and we were all set for a leisurely meal.
There’s an amazing wine list and the service and food is superb. Eclectic setting with wine piled up in every corner of the place. You can feel the passion. Great experience. The degustation was brilliant.
Food, service and wine are all excellent. We are repeat customers and will continue to come back. Non-alcoholic wine options are the best we have found in Perth. Wine range is phenomenal.
John Jens is a gentleman and probably one of the hardest working - certainly one of the most passionate - men in Perth. Kate Lamont is a trojan in the kitchen. All their staff I've met on several visits now have been excellently trained and courteous. Tremendous selection of fine wine, focusing on the great Western Australian producers.
This is a wine shop where you can have nice an relaxing place with a restaurant. The wine you get here is a Australian produced which the owner have their own productions. If you are a wine lover you must visit this place for Australian local made wine.
A wonderful experience. Unusual setting. (You enter from a small portico off the street that looks like a bottle shop not a top restaurant.) But once inside, the friendly and very competent meal service, the rustic wine cellar/bar atmosphere and most of all the truly stunning wine service will put paid to any initial doubts you may have had. No wonder its booked solid most of the time. We had a party of 15 in the private dining room at the back of the restaurant. We were served by Jack Jens, the owner. Jack is John's youngest son. John was there as well. Bonus 😄👍 We took John and Jack's advice on the wines for the evening and we were not disappointed. J & J J run a hugely successful premium wine business from this location, (they run a 60 seat restaurant on the side!🤔)
Some older folk will remember that John Jens ran Coppins Fine Wine Cellars on the corner of Irvine St and Stirling Hwy for many years. No wonder he knows his wines😄
A great time was had by all. Congratulations to "triple J" and staff A great night 👍
Lovely wines, great variety on food menu just can't complain ! The WAGU and mushroom pie is dream. Duck parfait silky smooth and Pork soba noodles not over complicated.
Superb food and sensational service, plus an outstanding wine list.
