Food to die for. Top notch customer service... Positives all round... Will go again for sure.

Great food! Service was a bit slow but the food is so good that you can almost forgive the wait. Portions are a decent size and can easily be shared between two . They are also in the entertainment book, so make sure to take advantage of the discount and try out a few extra dishes, like the house specials, who's flavours are delicious and available nowhere else.

We had our lunch with family. The food is authentic Indian. Their menu is reasonably priced. Best thing I liked is this is BYO (Bring Your Own) restaurant. We carried our own sparkling wine and enjoyed. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Good ambience..but not great food

I went with my boyfriend and my best friend to the chinese restaurant a few doors down and it was closed, quick as a flash, the waiter at 2 Fat Indians saw our disappointment and came out to offer a table a table in his restaurant. I found this very kind and very good marketing skills, I'm impressed. So hungry, we went into his restaurant and I had already eaten but my cohorts had their fill and exclaimed the food was delicious, all through the meal, the waiter was very attentive and kind and refilled our water and recommended the good ones and he was very pleasant and genuine. I was really impressed with his customer service and marketing skills. Well done and thankyou for the lovely night out. I highly recommend.

I went with my husband for dinner yesterday. First they served papad with mint chutney it was really good to taste other than that its really waste of money. Lamb seek kebab has no salt and taste. Tandoori chicken full of red food color but no taste. Butter chicken is very sweet I really very upset it was like dessert recipe using chicken. In Goat briyani goat pieces is good but rice is full of mint smell no other taste I found in that .service is good parking facility is good but if you are planning for good dinner don't choose two fat Indian.

I've reviewed this place two other times, once on Yelp and somewhere else. Each time, the food quality has increased, and I am now happy to provide a 4-star review. The staff are friendly, though a tad on the deferential side. Had they not been, perhaps my comment would have been that the staff were a bit too forward, but this is Australia, where in the absence of the staff pulling up a bench and sharing your meal with you, you probably agree that they were 'a little reserved'. Anyway, disregarding my patter, you couldn't fault them for their service, and the way in which they treated the customers. The other thing is that we were able to get the vegetarian feast converted into a vegan feast, and the chef made a couple of handy little substitutions that resulted in an excellent meal. About as good as you can expect from an Indian place that has to pander to Western tastes.

Lack of hygiene was appalling. When we sat down we noticed several dead cockroaches on the floor and as we were ordering our meal a cockroach flew over our heads. Our glasses were dirty so we got them replaced but noticed their idea of cleaning glasses was rinsing them with water and half full water bottles were being refilled and shifted to other tables. Disgusting. While the waitress we had was lovely The food was average at best and our experience of poor hygiene put us off our meals. Would not recommend, go to one of the many other restaurants in the area.

Honestly so disappointed. Asked for mild and it was anything but. The quality is not as good as other local spots. And it’s over priced to say the least. It’s $20.50 for 3 kofta balls. Sorry to say I was my be back

We went to this restaurant midweek and the place was very busy. We enjoyed the entree platter first of all. Our main of chicken korma was delicious. It was quite meaty unlike some places that give you lots of sauce. Service was prompt and friendly. We would return.

If you want to eat here don't book online. Small place easy to fill. They just ignore online requests. Lots of other Indian options around though.

My Indian family n I visited this place for a family birthday. We usually order a few dishes and share (which is the best way to eat Indian food in my opinion). The butter chicken was definitely my favourite.

Service was good in terms of customer service but food took a little longer than we anticipated (hence took off 1 point). Other than that, I couldn't fault anything else!

** I think the Cottesloe branch is better (in terms of food) than My Lawley one...having been to both.

Weeknight dinner with two south Asian friends. We had cheesy mushrooms a specialty of the house. I got 2 succulent mushrooms smothered in cheese and spices. The flavors entombed the mouth in a spicy mushy mix out of South Asia. Delicious. We also had the lamb chops. Butter naan, rice, Goan fish curry, and madras chicken curry. All in extra large servings. Service was good and price reasonable. Worth visiting again.

Disappointed to see other people served before us when seated after us - it wasn't busy. Found the food filling however quite bland. Service was terrible to say the least and will not be returning.
Serena
This is our go to Friday night delivery. The food is consistent although can be a bit oily. The okra curry is my absolute favourite and i definitely recommend. Service is fast and we have never had an issue with our order. We have eaten at the restaurant once but it didn't have much atmosphere. I'd rather eat the same food on my couch in my PJs 😁😁😁

Very good Indian food - we all enjoyed our food. Seating not very comfortable and felt a bit squashed in. Dishes were fairly pricey but were very yummy. Service was good - we didn't have a long wait and we didn't feel we were being rushed despite them being very busy.

Relatively poor. Both wait staff swore when they dropped something or messed up, which to me is unacceptable in the service industry (and it's not because I'm precious...I swear like a trooper, just not in front of clientele!). The starter of a vegetarian platter was mostly good, there was only one item that was fairly tasteless, everything else was good. We ordered the goat curry for mains, which was very strangely tomatoey and hugely chewy...quite disappointing. We also had three wait staff ask if we were finished or could they get us anything else, but never cleared the table or took away any plates etc. Certainly not the quality of food/service of the Highgate restaurant.

My wife and I dined here on 2/1/2016.

We both love Indian cuisine and have dined at several Indian restaurants in the past.

Upon turning up at the restaurant, we were promptly greeted and taken to our table. We were asked whether we'd like tap, sparkling or still and we opted for tap water. The waiter returned with a jug of warm water that resembled the taste as if it had been filled from the garden hose. We filled our glasses and then proceeded to wait patiently for a waiter to return and take our drink and food order.

15 minutes later (and no, they weren't busy at all) a waiter finally appeared and asked us what we'd like to order. We opted for the Chicken Tikka Masala (we love this dish at Bollywood so given same owner, assumed the dish would be on par), naan, rice and entre of samosa.

While we were waiting two tables were seated near us and their orders were taken. A waiter arrived at our table and removed our water jug. We looked at each other thinking it was a little over the top service to fill the water jug given we had not drank any of it. Perhaps they were going to replace it with something drinkable? To our shock and horror, the waiter returned to our neighboring table where he placed the filled jug. As confirmation that we were not imagining things, it happened a second time with another table!

We received our food and drinks in good time. The samosa was good but we were extremely disappointed with the Tikka Masala. It lacked any flavour whatsoever, as if the chicken had been cooked in a fry pan and then added to sauce. The sauce was bland and did not taste like curry at all. Our neighboring tables received complementary pappadums so we asks the waiter for some to which they happily apologized and brought us.

We did not finish our meal and when I went up to pay I was asked how our meal was. I said if she'd like the truth it was not that great. I gave her feedback to which she said she'd pass on to the chef. There was no apology and we were charged full price.

Overall, very disappointing.

Since I haven't been to many Indian restaurants, my review maybe slightly skewed. However, this is the best Indian restaurant I've been to in Perth. The foods are absolutely delightful and we are also very pleased with their customer service. Staffs regularly checked on our meals and poured water for us before our glasses were empty. If it was not for the little surprise at the end, we would have given a 5/5 rating. When we got our bills, we realised that the price on the menu doesn't include GST, which is quite an unusual practice in Australia.
Robyn
A great meal with attentive staff and delicious food. Not the best naan, it was more of a crisp bread. But you get a free crackers and dip thing on arrival. One of the best goat curries I have had. butter chicken and korma were average. Got a fish entree which was incredibly over powered by the fish and not the herbs and spices which was disappointing.

Amazing Indian food to be had! I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Perth and I would say this is the best taste wise. 2 Fat Indians is expensive but worth it. Truly delicious! Memorable flavours. Great take away options. Good vibes and friendly staff.
Alyce
Disappointed with the butter chicken here but the Korma and naan bread is the best! Not bad takeaway sizes and free delivery in the local area is a real treat.
Vpentelow
Disappointing! WORST CURRY EVER!!!. What a shame! we got take out and the onion bahjis were undercooked and under spiced, the butter chicken tasted like it was flavoured with heinz tomato soup, and the dahl... awful. We're looking for a new local curry house!
JC
Good gone bad. Have had 2FI for years, lately home delivery is always much longer than stated.
Chicken in butter chicken is full of gristle and dhal not pleasant. Has it changed hands?
Jay Bird
Love It!. Been here countless times and never been disappointed, food is fantastic although we order the same dishes every time. Service is excellent, not too pricey and great portions. Not a great selection of wines but hey you've got liquor land directly opposite, if you don't mind paying $5 a bottle corkage that is. Onion bhaji, Dahl makni (ask them to make it a bit thicker), chicken tikka masala, paneer chilli milli yum to name a few.

Had a fab meal here tonight in a group of 13. We went the banquet option to keep things simple with a mix of vegetarian and non (although there are so many tempting options on the menu!!). Servings were so generous that we did not take advantage of the "top ups" offered - turns out the banquet is all you can eat... We did our best ;) Service was faultless and nothing was too much trouble, a bit of a rarity for Perth these days. Being open on a Monday also makes this restaurant stand out!

BYO was $5 per bottle, it's in the Entertainment Book, and also participating in Amex's Shop Small promotion. Tick, tick, tick! Highly recommended.

Ragesh reigns supreme!!!. Have been getting home delivery food for years from our local Indian restaurant and overall have been pleased with the food and service, however for the past couple of months the food has been truly delicious!! Chef Ragesh is responsible for creating and maintaining this cuisine excellence... well done! Don't let him go
Two Fat Indians, Cottesloe.

Expensive but good food. A bit expensive place for my pocket, but food and service was good. Been there twice. Wish to go again...

Don't try to utilise home delivery option. After previous great meals here, we decided to get home delivery for a low key celebration of my daughters birthday. We ordered at 6.45pm and were told the delivery would arrive well within 45 mins. At 7.45pm I rang thinking they had gotten lost between Cottesloe and mosman park ... I was told the driver had left and should be arriving any second. At 8pm I called again to be told the driver had forgotten the sparkling water I had ordered so had returned to the restaurant. At 8.15pm the food arrived cold. So disappointed.

The Best. I've been coming to this place for years, and i travel 45km to get here. I have tried many indian restraunts in Perth CBD and in my opinion, this is still the best, regarding the quality of the food. If anyone knows of one better, please let me know so i could try it. Competition is always heathy.

Cool. Love your lamb briyani....and great service !!

Recommended. I have been here on several occasions and have always experienced good, tasty food and great service.
Happy To Eat Anyday Anytime Anywhere
It is a very small and noisy restaurant where it is hard to hear the others at the table. No Indian influence or ambiance like the Highgate restaurant. Service was impeccable and food tasted very good- it never disappoints. Only thing is I can't justify paying $20-25 for a curry portion that is so small- Indian serving bowls. It is a bit over exaggerated. But lovely food and still my favourite Indian restaurant in Perth.
Ednastone
Disappointing. Although the food was tasty....service focused on bigger groups..We felt overlooked, as if we were not important, certainly didn't feel liked a welcomed customer...more like an inconvenience. Have just come back from Melbourne where every restaurant treated you like a valued customer. If you are two busy for small tables don't book us in. Sorry TFI will not eat at your establishment again. :(
Kj
Low quality meat for premium price. Real ripp off. Sauces nothing authentic. Looks like cooked by a trainee chef. Palak paneer, korma, n vindaloo taste nothing like we are used to. Himalayas across the road cheap n good food.
Mishmish
Good curry. Luckily for them the food is good as the decor is a complete let down. The chairs are so uncomfortable and the lights are too bright along the wall too.
Nice friendly staff.
Frank Tan
My favourite Indian restaurant in Perth. Good service as well.
Badhon22
Better than most Indian places in Perth but not the best. Cottesloe restaurant has an underwhelming atmosphere compared to the Mount Lawley one and poorer interior set up. Food is better than most indian places but room for improvement remains. Curried lobster dish would get 3/5 simply because we have had fresher tasting indian seafood at other places for the same money.
Kristy
As always. My favorite Indian restaurant!
I love the butter chicken alot...I tryed again last week n it's always the same delicious taste...recommended well if u r really looking for good Indian food!
Charmaine Mallasch
Had an absolutely lovely meal of butter chicken tonight delivered to my home. The most friendliest staff always!
Kayla Willetts
Amazing every time and so friendly:-) thanks again for our delivery tonight yummy

Great!. Best indian in cottesloe hands down. does delivery as well to local areas so great for a takeaway night. butter chicken and chicken tiki masala are to die for!
Perth Foodie Niz
Beautiful 'boutique type' indian restaurant in Cottesloe!. I went to this lovely Cottesloe restaurant for dinner with a group of ladies. The food, service & ambience was fantastic! As a vegetarian, the options available were well above standard, including some delicious starters like paneer chilli milli, and stuffed mushrooms (exquisite!). The chef accomodated our request to make the Aloo Gobbi (potato and cauliflower curry) extra spicy and extra tasty!. For dessert we had the Gulab Jammun which melted in our mouths. I loved the cosy atmosphere and ambient light in the restaurant, which complemented the spicy fare very well. The manager on site was also very friendly and assisted us in selecting our dishes. I'd recommend this restaurant to someone seeking tasty indian food especially after a day down at the beach or a few drinks at the Cott.

How this scores so highly i dont know. Tough lamb in the saag and fatty pieces of chicken in the tikka. Put your money to amazing indian like royal india in west perth.

Will Surely visit again for such delicious Indian food !!. My family and I went to 2 fat Indians the other day for dinner. The restaurant is well made and has a good ambiance. The food was mind blowing, I haven't had such nice Indian food in a long time. Paneer Makahani, Dal Makhani, The Kesar Pista Lassi and the Handi ki Subzi were the highlight for us. The Gulab Jamun at the end added a great finishing touch. The service was a little slow. But overall, a good experience and would love to return when I'm in a mood for another good Indian food experience!

It’s a favorite among all my friends!. 2 Fat Indians is one of the best things that ever happened to Australia. Their food couldn’t get any more delicious and it’s a favorite among all my friends. Have to go there minimum once in two weeks. Great spread, superb ambience, impressive service and total value for money. A definite thumbs up for 2 Fat Indians!

Highly recommend 2 Fat Indians to all !!. I go to 2 Fat Indians occasionally at lunch times. The food here is an absolute winner complimented with really top notch service at a good price. I have my samosas, my chicken korma, and rice and come out a truly happy man. The desserts are also excellent. I would highly recommend 2 Fat Indians!

Amazing place & quality Indian food !!. Chicken korma, Dal Makhani, Paneer Makhanwala... you name it and you'll have it served to you at 2 Fat Indians! Last night I had the best Indian food in Australia! The quality of food and the ambience is great! Also my appetite is great, so the quantity of the food was enough to get me sleeping for 8 hours at a stretch! Amazing place!
Kayla Sebastian
Service was cheerful and pleasant, food came out fast, and we loved all the dishes we chose!
We'll definitely be coming back- deeelicious!!!

Total Value for your money !!. My boyfriend took me to 2 Fat Indians since I was feeling home sick and was missing home food. I believe, this is some of the finest Indian food that I have ever eaten and I will definitely go back to relish their tikkas and all the other delicious dishes. Amazing spread and total value for money!
Maddy Mac
Absolutely love this restaurant. Amazing food! Especially the lamb korma. We regularly get takeaway too!
Brett Barnes
Rocking atmosphere & brilliant service too !!. I've had lunch here a couple of times and always seem to go back to the Butter chicken. I just love it! The atmosphere is great and the service too is brilliant. 2 Fat Indians always manages to bring a smile to my face every time I eat here :)

Fabulous Indian Meal. I went to 2 Fat Indians with friends on a Friday for dinner. The food was out of this world and we had a blast! I must say that I have never eaten such good Indian food in whole of Australia. Everything was cooked to perfection and the food was not at all oily. Had a great time and a fabulous meal!
Angel Shaz
Best Indian Restaurant. I have been to 2 Fat Indians many times and every time I come back happy! Love the feel of it. Authentic Indian cuisine, not very spicy too, it's just perfect. The best Indian restaurant in Australia.
Joe
Amazing restaurant ... Amazing service all the staff amazing!!! Recommended to all.... Xxx

Mouth watering food ..just loved it :). I took my kids to 2 Fat Indians for dinner. They wanted to have Indian cuisine for the first time. We loved the food. Excellent service and it's reasonable too. My kids loved the samosa's and for mains they relished the Crayfish curry and the garlic naan! For dessert we loved the Gulab Jamun, just too mouth watering.
Ella Mathew
A very pleasant experience !. I was on my honeymoon and my husband and I, both were craving for Indian food. My husband did some research and we tried this restaurant called 2 Fat Indians. We loved the food. It was authentic Indian food. We had the Goan fish curry and dal makhani for the main course with some garlic naan. The naan was so soft and for dessert we had gulab jamun! It was a pleasant experience.
Melbfoot
Awesome. The best lamb briyani .. Had compare with 6 Indian rest around freo !!
Meg Hunter
Amazing Service & Delicious Indian Food :). Other than the food out here, I also liked the drinks. They have some amazing service and you will just slip away into the ambiance. The food is undoubtedly the best I have ever had! 2 Fat Indians are a clear winner when it comes to serving traditional Indian food! Finally someone has managed to pull this off well.
Mark Haydon
Delightful Place :). Oh 2 Fat Indians! An absolute gastronomic delight! I have been to India for business and have tried the traditional Indian food and that is exactly what I got at 2 Fat Indians. The flavours of India! Keep it going 2 Fat Indians I’ll be back soon!
Niki Sharma
Best Indian Food is here !!. The lamb Biryani, the kheema naan what the other things I had there (of which i do not remember the names of) was just out of this world! Ended my meal in the most unconventional way, with a cup of Indian tea and it wasn’t such a bad decision. Best Indian food in here!
Sheena Sharma
Recommend it to all :). The best part of 2 Fat Indians is that the service will not give you any grief! Must not forget to mention that the food is impeccable! It’s authentic but not as hot as the food the Indians have. They have kept the food comparatively mild than what it really is, which actually is a good thing. Kudos to the 2 Fat Indians!
Xian
Delicious!. This restaurant serves some very tasty Indian food. Some are a hit and miss (i.e. the lobster) but the butter chicken and garlic naan is divine!

Love the fact that they deliver for free within 5kms!
Toast4dinner
Good food. This place has tasty food. I'm from an Indian background so can tell you this is not at all authentic but is nice enough.....
Todd
We have been going to 2 fat on and off for 3 years now as it is our local I Dian restaurant. It is good but very inconsistent. If you live in Cott they do free home delivery. Their buttered chicken is a little too sweet and their lamb Lorna can be a bit fatty. Overall though it is not bad. Little Chutney's was farrrrrr better but alas it is no more
Mrs Rose
Great service! Food was okay. Went with a group of friends and had a great time.
Peter.clarkson
Bad takeaway experience. I'd had 2 Fat Indians previously at Mount Lawley and was really impressed, but I had a bit of a bad experience with having takeaway delivered. The takeaway arrived with rice and a naan missing, so I called them back immediately to see if they could just get the driver to turn round and drop off our rice.

He came back an hour later with the rice, by which time we'd finished our meal anyway, and when I asked for a refund on the rice I didn't get he said he'd have to call the restaurant to see if I was allowed a refund. Sorted it in the end, but it was a bit frustrating.

The curries were mostly pretty poor (rogan josh and jalfrezi) but the korma was apparently excellent. Onion bhajis were kind of floppy and had completely fallen apart, but they did give us an enormous amount of them (three takeaway bags full up of floppy mashed-up bhaji).

I'll probably go back, because the Mount Lawley restaurant was so good I should give them a chance, but I was a bit disappointed with this experience.
LoveMyFood
What a shame. They have a new chef, so sad. The paratha is now out of a packet, the black dahl tasted like dishwater with no dahl and the rest was ordinary. Gone from one of the favourites to a place to avoid. Please fix it soon!
Jon
Pleasantly surprised!. Coming from England i still find it tough to splash out $100 for two on an Indian meal. Indian food is the only reason i go back!

Two Fat Indians however was a pleasant experience with perfectly good, palatable food. The Goan fish curry was excellent, goat was good and Rogan Josh tasty. Service was fine and the waiter was actually Indian!!

Will definitely go back when i have saved enough money!
Emme
AMAZING. I am a frequent customer at 2 fat Indians Cottesloe. I have never been disappointed with the food or service. I highly recommend the Dal Makhini, Onion Bajhi, Dal tadka and Malai Kofta. Vegan and vegetarian friendly! Fast service, food is always perfect. Delivery is free within 5kms and usually takes about 45 mins. For food pick up usually 15-20 mins.
Simply Simon
Mmmmmm ....... well ???. Having dined at 2 fat indians Cottesloe twice this year I feel that it hasnt really improved or gotten any worse.
The food was average-ish both times and it didn't quite live up to the hype that has been afforded this establishment.
We enjoyed what we ate, but probably expected a bit more than that. There are plenty of Indian restaurants around Perth and we will probably re-visit one of our other favourites next time.
Va
11/5/11. Very bad experience, spoiled our evening , served absolutely cold and stale dishes. No response from the manager after complaining about it. POOR service, we left their stale ontree and had dinner elsewhere. Thank god, it wasn't too late at night otherwise we would have starved that day.
Rory
Great Butter Chicken. Our whole family loves this place, especially the kids who can't get enough of the Butter Chicken.

The prices are fair and the service is warm and friendly. Have a look at this place next time you are close by.
Gourmandius
Above average Indian food. Not outstanding but definitely worth considering.
LittleElvisMonkey
Such a disappointment. November 2010

I was so disappointed after hearing several people rave about this place. We ordered the mixed starter but ended up with the vegetarian version which was bland and tasteless and both our curries mains were bland and had a very unpleasant aftertastes. The service was awful and the restaurant quite dingy and it was quite an expensive meal. Sadly this has put me off eating curry out for quite a while!
Mick Rose
Lacking. We had the Butter Chicken and Roghan Josh. It was a little lacklustre but OK, and made for a decent lunch the next day.

Better than straight-from-the-jar but nowhere near the quality you get elsewhere, such as Cinnamon on the Park.
Pfc
Nothing to rave about. Indian food should be eaten like it would in india; street food thats cheap, flavoursome and a lot of fun. Two fat indians was the complete opposite. A somewhat formal eatery that was like sitting in a friend's dining room without much atmosphere at all. The service was below average, which I was disappointed with as I had heard good things about.

The food was delicious though - hard to screw up butter chicken, rogan josh and a side of dips with pappadums.

Good, local indian - just go there with average expectations.
Tara Spencer
Best Indian in Perth! Great service and perfectly cooked dishes. I have tried nearly every thing on the menu and the lamb is still my favourite - just melts in your mouth. A lot better than the one in Highgate.
Karin McKay
It is a long time since I have had such lovely Indian food! We had fab service and great food, it is rather pricy so be prepared to pay for what you get. Wonderful tastes and excellent service (also take away is VERY popular).
