Review Garage 117 Cafe - Cowes

Fantastic food and atmosphere! Fresh ingredients and you can really tell they have a love for the food they cook. The owner is really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.

A surprise. Walk pass on a chilly rainy morning looking for some breakie. An old lady just came out and told me they had great food, so I opened the door. Menu is short but enough for a small café, almost like a home run eatery in a backyard shed with an old fashioned outback feel (it is located on the main Street for sure) Coffee is good, food may appears a bit over priced, but you do get a big serve for the money, and it taste good too. I had the green egg and ham for 18bucks, and there comes 2eggs 2hash and 4ham, enough to last me to mid afternoon before I start to look for another feed. And the service is great, very friendly and welcome, guess they should be the humble local islanders.

Finally somewhere decent to eat on the island! Not a flashy menu, just the basics - burgers, pies, even nachos for the kids. Extremely reasonably priced. Terrific value for money. A fabulous open fire and a snuggly couch was just what we needed on this cold wet day. Could have sat there all day. Friendly service too. Only downside is not enough info on the menu. Had to go up and collect menus, had to go back to the counter to ask what the soup of the day was, then had to go back and ask what pies they had in the cabinet (signs or a blackboard would have been handy),. Really nice overall

Great find in Cowes. Quirky decor, friendly hosts and chef, delicious food. House-smoked kangaroo filet and salmon were delicious. Recommend sharing the tasty veg and rosemary potato dishes.

Nice little eclectic retro establishment but the first time I've had eggs white burnt on the bottom but raw on top.... The relish was yum.

Just ate the best open burger ever, especially the beetroot relish. Yummy

Limited over priced menu for simple food. The good in the bad was the friendly service and beetroot reish.

Have been wanting to try this place out for a while. Great coffee and delicious warm chocolate fudge with rhubarb.. Really enjoyed our afternoon break in this enjoyably retro eclectic cafe.

Loved the retro atmosphere and the coffee was good.  However the food was very average.  Burger buns were very stale and the overall flavour of the burger was lacking.  The meat patty was burnt and was very unpleasant to eat.  Would not recommend to go there unless you only wanted coffee.

Eclectic menu. Retro decor with an outside area. Mocha was very milky but nice if you don't like strong coffee. Had the big breakfast, a generous serving. However the first time I have ever had eggs with the white burnt on the bottom and raw on top.
