Review Racetrack Cafe - Cranbourne

We booked for 50 people for a Sunday night dinner. The staff were so accommodating. The service was much faster than I was expecting for that number of people. So many guests commented on how lovely their meal was. So friendly and great food. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Every time we go we try something different and every time the meal is amazing, the flavors are to die for. Tonight was frozen margaritas and chili prawns and they bloody nailed it. Can not fault the service, so nice. And my missus said I'm 100% chance tonight. 😁 Highly recommend.

One of our fave places to eat! Food is always amazing, and service is excellent and so friendly. We love having a chat with the chef and server, hubby and wife team that own this business. Best Parma around anywhere, and the eye fillet is always cooked to perfection.

Whilst the cheesecake tasted good, it was not gluten free as I was led to believe (if it was GF, it had been contaminated somehow) I got horribly sick next day. I love this place, great food, friendly staff. Pls be careful of food contamination.

Exceptional service, fantastic service, clean and tidy premises and fantastic food with kind and accommodating staff. Our son has food allergies - we have not been able to take him out for dinner to a restaurant for 11 years because of his allergies. But Racetrack cafe were more than happy and more than confident to cook him a meal that he could eat. They were very accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend them and most definitely be returning.

We have been here for breakfast a few times and enjoyed the food and wonderful coffee. Tonight we decided to try the dinner menu. It was quiet which sometimes worries me why not many people were there, but it soon started to fill up. Don't let the outside fool you as this place is a great find and so glad we wandered in. Attentive staff, pleasant background music and beautifully presented food that we both enjoyed at reasonable prices. Plenty on the menu to choose from. We will definitely return.

The last 2 Thursday nights we have been to Racetrack, Rommel and Helmina made us feel so welcome, very attentive to customers, clean and inviting and not noisy. The food was amazing.....my favourite is Chicken Champagne which is to die for......the secret sauce was 10/10. Would definitely recommend. �

Stopped in for a late breakfast and was kindly greeted by staff, ordered chicken focaccia and eggs benedict. The food was presented well and the chicken focaccia was good although my eggs benedict was less than satisfactory. MUFFINS that tasted like something from the supermarket and avocado that had been served brown. Unfortunately I couldn't finish half of it and when asked how was the meal, i responded with my concerns. When going to pay he apologized and still charged full price which i felt was overpriced in the first place. I asked why he served brown avocado and he responded that it was because it was close to the pip. Which doesn't really explain why. I appreciate your apology but some compensation would've been appreciated.

Our first visit since the new owners. We were greeted very warmly and offered drinks almost immediately. After giving my wife and I time decide, waitress was very prompt to take our order. Though when I say waitress I think it was one of the owners. My wife had the ribs which she said was very nice and not dry. The sauce was nice. I had the lamb pieces with vegetables. The lamb was very tender and the vegetables cooked just right. Though I would have liked a bigger serve of the potato gratin. After such a long hiatus from The Racetrack, we are more than happy to go back.

Brunch yesterday.....yummiest eggs benedict with a side of hash brown�Girls were super friendly and efficient and Colin enjoyed his freshly squeezed OJ. Never disappointed coming back here and we always wonder why it's too long between visits!

We make a regular accurance to racetrack. Pleasant greeting everytime. Consistantly amazing coffees (which is hard to find somewhere consistant). And the food is always above delicious. Thank you to the staff for making us feel so welcome. Needless to say this is by far my favourite place to eat and enjoy a coffee. My mother and friends would say the same. We will see you guys next time. Thanks again.

This was our second visit and it was just as good as the first, flavours in the food was exceptional in fact it was so lovely i didn't want it to end. Staff are so nice and friendly without being pushy. Great menu with lots to choose from and very reasonably priced. Loved it.

We have known Rommel as a top Chef for years, he takes good care of his food, and his clients. Just love his Baby Veal , with a nice "secret sauce" !

The racetrack cafe has by far the best service and the best hospitality in their class

A varied and comprehensive menu for any time of day. Unpretentious, friendly restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. A family business with emphasis on great food and keeping customers happy. Highly recommended.

Our favourite dinner spot. Lovely staff and a great menu. We always feel welcome. We visit often and love the deal for a parma and chips on Tuesday nights.

Fantastic food wouldn’t go any were else in Cranbourne for a meal. Food was amazing and the service is fantastic, good prices then after my meal thought l would try their coffee and the coffee was good as well l would rate it 10 Out of 10

I had a coffee and a breakfast burger. Coffee was great. Thoroughly enjoyed the burger, asked for bacon well done, it was. Relish and onions were really nice. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Service very attentive and the place was very clean.<br/>I would definitely go back.

Service was fine. Wasn't happy about not being able to take your left overs home I felt like I flushed my money down the toilet. Food overall was ok. Isn't worth the price you can go down Kelly's Pub or the Settlement and get your food slightly cheaper.

Came for dinner as the pub down the street was fully booked and wish we went elsewhere to be honest. The service all round is very good, really nice people but that can't mask the poor quality of meals. We ordered dips which were store bought and too cold. You always serve dips at room temperature. I ordered the paella as a main $32!!! The seafood in it was good but the chorizo was cheap and chicken non existent, however the rice over cooked and no idea by the chef how to season or what spices belong in a paella really ruined everything. My wife had the pollo fungi pasta which was instant pasta and a sauce really lacking in any real flavour. I am being really hard on this place because they charge premium prices, like really expensive so the food better be dammed good but sadly it is quite poor.

I've been here 3 times and found the food to be very enjoyable with great flavours, staff are friendly and attentive - therefore it was a happy and enjoyable experience.

Tried this place out for dinner and found staff to be quite friendly and helpful. Menu was extensive and pub like, and prices were on the high side. Quality of food was below average and not really enjoyable.

Absolutely on point! Fantastic food, warm friendly service (coming from someone with over 10 years hospitality management experience) Already booked the entire family in for my birthday next weekend! Couldn't be happier!

Sunday breakfast couldn't have been any better! Great value for money and lovely staff and service! The menu isn't extensive but definitely catered for what we were after and was delicious! Will be back again!!!

Food: Nothing could go wrong with a hearty Zante eggs. Probably, it was a little tangy for my liking and the bacon was quite charred.<br/><br/>Coffee: Mediocre coffee, a little diluted for my liking. <br/><br/>Service: excellent service from the mature aged brown/black hair lady. I was well looked after.

They always have good meals and a good range of desserts.  I'm usually too full to get to the desserts.  I love the paella.  My friend loved the desserts.  Good coffee and friendly service with a nice atmosphere.

Quick service by friendly and attentive staff. Tastefully decorated premises gives a warm comfortable ambience. Had the chicken parmigiana, wow it was delicious. The side salad was fresh and not overpowered by too much dressing, it was lightly sprinkled, just perfect. My bf had the beef stir fry which looked very appetising and according to him tasted superb. <br/>The servings were very generous and neither of us were able to finish our dinner. Price was very reasonable $18 for the stir fry and $22 for the Parma with chips and salad. <br/>The couple next to us had porterhouse steak which looked absolutely devine and according to them tasted perfect. <br/>Will definitely becoming here again.

I only go here for the occasional midday coffee so I can't comment on the food but everyone's plates always seem mouth watering. Staff are wonderful and fast. The place has a relaxed vibe. I'd prefer brighter lighting though if I was to dine there.

CLOSED ON A SUNDAY. What world do we live in where people don't want delicious noms on a weekend? The food isn't bad, but I'm not about to work around their schedule.

Suprising.. I thought was a simple Cafe until I saw the menu, I had the most amazing meal, cooked to perfection and such high quality cut of Steak. Cannot wait to go back again.

Best in Cranbourne. I've been to the Racetrack Cafe a few times now, for both breakfast and lunch. I've always found the service to be friendly and very attentive. The coffee is great and the food just lovely. The lunch menu is quite extensive and varied, and for breakfast there are a few old favourites to choose from. Recommended.

Best food around. Not only was the food perfect, the service was amazing. Easily the best trained wait staff around. <br/><br/>My wife and I had the tapas and it was simply delicious. We try to get in for a meal at least once a month. <br/><br/>The meal was stunning.

Horrible service. Today me and my partner went there, our normal waitress with the bubbly nature and wonderful service wasn't there, we were shown to a horrible service and experience we were seated and forgotten about 10 minutes later we asked for a menu followed by another 10 minutes of waiting for service followed by another 15 minutes of waiting for our drinks that were never made,we decided to leave due to the waitress not even lodging our order. Absolutely disgusted,

Excellent service always! Staff do not write down your order and it is always spot on. The first time I had breakfast there I changed my eggs from poached to scrambled and every time I went for breakfast after that the waitress would ask if I wanted scrambled eggs. She remembered before I did! The food is always perfect. Highly recommend racetrack cafe to anybody

I'm daydreaming about Racetrack's pasta.... A friend and I dropped into Racetrack on Saturday lunch. We had a lot of trouble deciding what to eat with all the options available and settled on pasta. I had Carbonara and she had gnocchi. Both were amazing. We went from saying we weren't that hungry to eating every single piece. It was delicious. Will definitely be going back.

Disappointing. Got take away, they charged us higher prices than what was on their take way menu. I ordered the pollo fungi gnocchi and it contained off cuts of chicken and was quite bland. Won't be ordering from here any time soon..

We are addicted to the food and the old fashioned service. Great meals and the best dining experience in Cranbourne. Only small so book first as a suggestion

Was looking for a coffee , checked urbanspoon , this place rated well , found it but couldn't get a coffee because THEY DONT OPEN UNTIL 10am!!!!!!$ ON A SATURDAY

Went here for the first time this weekend for Valentines Day. My partner had steak and I had Lasagne. Both meals were large in size and tasted great! Friendly service from all, including the hosts. Would highly recommend for a quality evening meal (and will try breakfast soon).

The only place to eat in Cranbourne. Found myself in Cranbourne on the weekend, and headed to the Racetrack Cafe on Saturday at lunchtime. Very happy with the food- My partner had the Burger and I had Chicken Caeser salad. Both meals were fresh, plentiful and above all, tasty. Will definitely return.

Lovely food although a change in the menu every now and then would be great. Vegetarian options wouldn't go astray too...

Fantastic. Just had our 2nd Xmas break up lunch here....staff were fantastic and accommodating to every request and the food was delicious ....will always come back here.....and you must have the tasting plate for dessert, the only way to go :-)

Best breakfast and service in town!. My partner has eaten here regularly for quite some time, he took me there for the first time about 6 weeks ago and now I go at least once a week, it is by far the best breakfast in Cranbourne, the service and food is top notch, you will not be disappointed having breakfast here.

Delicious and attentive. We ate at Racetrack Cafe on Saturday night, and early sitting before the local theatre. The food was fantastic, I had a medium rare steak, cooked to perfection, with the most scrumptious pepper sauce I've had in years.<br/>My friends had a lovely risotto and fishy cooked carbonara, which is the sign of a good chef.<br/>The service was very attentive and friendly, and although the meals took a little longer to come out, we had plenty of time, and we were always kept well stocked with drinks, and good conversation.<br/>A lovely place.

Two words Authentic & Mind blowing the food was exciting and mouth watering ! Compliments to the chef.

Bland. Very bland food. I've eaten there once and will never eat there again.

Would recommend know one should make a large booking, I made a booking on a Tuesday for that following saturday, called up around 11am the guy sounded like he just woke up was rude the phone line was dial up, and we got there on Saturday he said there was no bookings for us so 11 of us plus a baby had to find another place to eat for my hubby's birthday, WOULD NOT recommend this place at all bad service!! Not happy!!!

Definitely the best meal in a long time. The quality of the fare was exceptional and the service cannot be beaten. Would heartily recommend you give this restaurant a visit, but remember to book first. 5 thumbs up....

Definitley worth the trip.. The first thing that struck me about Racetrack cafe was the amazing mural on the wall - the whole restaurant carries along its s flair. Between the efficiency of the waitstaff (with genuine smiles and greetings - yes amazing I know!) and the food which has a Medeterranean twist - it really is worth the try. I recommend any of the steaks or quail if it's on the specials menu. You'll love this place, highly reccomended.

Great food. Come here often and the food is always delicious. Staff always friendly and helpful. Have yet to try anything that wasn't up to par on the dinner menu, the gnocchi is amazing.

A little bit schmancy for Cranny !. We always enjoy eating here. It's a step up for Cranbourne Eateries. Always had great service and beautiful meals. Have not eaten breakfast here but happy to give it a shot !

Decent (not great) coffee. Probably one of the Only places to eat around cranbourne. Poached eggs were awful..and looking at surrounding tables, this seemed to be a common.. Other food looked tasty. Learn how to poach an egg and I'll return :-)

Quite happy to find this gem in Cranbourne. Great service, good coffee. The only criticism would be that our poached eggs were murdered. Despite this, I would definitely come back.
