Review Liep's Cambodian Restaurant - Cremorne

Friendly atmosphere - Mr Liep is very welcoming and remembers everything. Food is absolutely amazing - the Amok Trey (Fish Curry in Banana Leave) is the best curry in Sydney! BYO, friendly atmosphere and amazing food - what more can you ask for

The food is good. The portion is quite small. Wish the restaurant was a little bigger.

One of our favourite restaurants. Fantastic authentic Cambodian food, the fish curry wrapped in the Banana leaf is a firm favourite. Beautiful fresh produce used to create fantastic dishes. Liep’s personal service is the icing on the cake, you feel like you have been transported to Cambodia.

Mr Liep & Kim are fantastic and such welcoming hosts. The food is always so tasty - we especially love the fish curry (cooked in banana leaves), chicken with BBQ eggplant and the spicy lemongrass tamarind beef. The chocolate mousse cake is gorgeous, plus we also go for delicious bacon & egg rolls in the morning! A real hidden local gem and with BYO it's a value for money night out. Thank you!

Liep's Cambodian Restaurant has consistently excellent service and food. I have eaten from the set menu and the regular menu and both didn't disappoint. I would particularly recommend the set menu if you were new to Khmer food, as it enables you to sample a variety of deliciousness.

No wonder Llep’s is still here. Longevity because great Khmer food, beautiful service and friendly and hospitable owners - Liep and Kim are treasures. Have been here over many years and the standard remains high, while also excellent value. Looking forward to our next taste of Cambodia.

Great Discovery! After travelling to Cambodia 2 years ago I haven't found a restaurant that compares to the flavours I experienced there... until now! We had the traditional fish curry (super flavoursome and delicious) and the bbq egglant with chicken (very tasty). I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for flavours outside the usual Vietnamese or Thai restaurant. Cant wait to go back and try more dishes.

Oh my gosh, what a little gem of a place! Loved my dinner there! Traditional Cambodian chicken curry was amazing, and the mousse cake for dessert was clearly made with love! Will definitely go back again and again ☺️

Lieps is the perfect place for fresh, authentic cambodian food. The curry fish in banana leaf is a must have! Beautiful food and beautiful service from Liep and his wife.

My first taste of Cambodian food and it was fantastic! The fish mains are a must have! The prawn and the vegetables were good. I could have done without the corn cakes.

The setting is not what I expected. It has the appearance of a lunch time sandwiches eatery than a restaurant and there is limited seating available.

The service was impeccable.

Lieps is a unique find for those looking for a new dining experience. A nice glimpse into the world of Cambodian flavour, definitely worth a try.

The Good & The Bad. Overall it was good food being Cambodian myself I love different types of asian food. I ordered the Stir Fried Chicken with Lemon Grass I believed it was called, it was just the right amount of flavour. Now for the bad part the service was not so friendly me & my partner were asked if we were ordering take away or dining in & also were asked "If we're going to take long" as if us being there was an inconvenience, not sure if I would go again I traveled over an hour to try somewhere different & to be greeted like that I don't think it's worth the hassle & I can save a lot of petrol too.

Special BBQ eggplant chicken thing was unbelievable! Banana leaf fish is a winner also. Great place!

Great cheap "different" food choice. Sick of all the Thai restaurants everywhere? Then try Liep's!

Having got back from a holiday to Vietnam/Cambodia, we had a hankering for the food. Lucky for us, Liep's is not too far from home so we thought we'd give it a shot. Liep's is not over overstyled Thai restaurant. Its a simple place but it really shines thanks to the owner's commitment to his own country's food.

I like to support people who have a heart as big as Liep. It helps when his fish amok trey is sooooooo delicious!!!!!

As a reference, with entres and mains, it cost about $45 a couple with BYO drinks.

So next time you're trying to think of something different to try, give Lieps a shot! You'll be back.... :)

We have never had food with such clean, fresh and delicate flavors. Liep is a one man show but it is well worth the wait. Simply beautiful food

Liep Smacking Good!. I am so glad I finally got to eat at Liep's. Being downstairs from my work place..I tend to want to be away as soon as possible but Liep and Kim are just such endearing and sweet people who cater to my 3 shot lattes and odd sandwiches requests during the day, that I had to give their offer of authentic Cambodian food a shot.
The starters came out piping hot and in a timely manner. My partner and I fought over every last morsel.
The mains were superb including Liep's recommendation and much to our delight, the beef with tamarind which was delish!
We went back there again a week later we were so impressed and the food/service was just as good.
The prices were more than reasonable for the area and we will definitely be back.

Part of the family. There are plenty of trendy, minimalist, mid-range restaurants serving a gourmet take on traditional foods scattered across Sydney. Liep's is not one, nor does it pretend to be.

Liep's, like its owner (Liep himself) is understated, humble and eager to please. A friendly handshake at the door and a buzzing curiosity about every single customer, and a burning desire to engage in the Australian culture, make dining at Liep's feel more like eating in the home of a Cambodian family that simply a market trade.

The food is delicious, the kind of mixed cuisine that any Australian demands from a menu. The melting pot which is Cambodian food features sizzling chili beef with a distinct szechuan theme, Indonesian style curried fish in banana leaf, Thai style pork neck salad and even the French prawns with basil and cream sauce.

Diners have complained that food takes too long to arrive. While Liep's isn't the fastest place around, the timing is not unreasonable. Sitting outside in Cremorne Plaza on a still night, watching the passing parade of North Shore's youth heading out to restaurants, bars and the movies, all having a good time - who wouldn't want to stay as long as possible?

If you're looking for a place to stop, eat and go, try one of the multitude of Thai restaurants in Cremorne and Neutral Bay. However if you want to experience something new, and you want to be something more than simply "order number 58", make a night of it and head to Liep's.

Great night. Went to this place with my Cambodian girlfriend and a mate. The food is outstanding - we had a great night. Try the chicken curry or the sizzling beef. Excellent value

Food is mediocre, but okay. I think the hour wait for meals on a quiet night was a joke and the place is expensive. Not going back. Walked past the other night and overhead more ppl complaining about the wait. Don'tbother with this one
Fred
Fantastic. The food is fresh and the flavours are amazing. The fish in banana leaf is one of the tastiest little wrapped up morsels going. Well worth a visit for a cheap and cheerful taste of Cambodia.
