what a wonderful find!! amazing Italian cuisine all so fresh and beautifully presented. they also cater for vegetarians, vegans and have gluten free options. my sister comes here regularly for their fresh gf vegan pasta & raves about it. i tried their special of truffle gnocchi and have to say it was the tastiest i have ever had!! hubby had the lobster pasta, had a taste and it was amazing. entree’s were also so tasty - recommend the arancini & zucchini flowers. friendly staff, great service and what a view. highly recommended for a lovely luncheon or dinner dining with friends :) ps. try their specialty cocktails - we had the chilli margarita & ended up having more than one they were so good!!

Got a voucher for Christmas and went on a date night. Food was amazing, the southbeach cocktails were immaculate, every staff member was lovely and amazing to deal with. Could not rate this place higher will definitely have to revisit.

Always delivers a 10/10 experience. Perfect spot for dates, birthdays, girls long lunch/dinners. Lobster pasta special was amazing.

Fantastic service and the most delicious food at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Lovely spacious restaurant. Excellent attentive staff. I like when they come around every so often to see if you need anything. Variety of foods are great. Love the old style of the waiter informing you of what's in the menu. He remembers your orders! Nice variety of wines to choose from. Great at atmosphere. Definitely will be dining sometime soon.

What an amazing restaurant, always a fun time out with a group of girlfriends. Aldo is the host with the most and is always good at recommending dishes and keeping your glass full. Highly recommend getting a mix of dishes and sharing them…..and save room for dessert.

Outstanding! What a beautiful night we had! Came here on Thursday night with my friend and we had the best dinner in a long time. The staff, food, drinks - everything just exceptional! I must say the staff has been absolutely lovely and very accommodating from the beginning. I had a couple of changes with my booking and nothing was an issue! The food - wow! Definitely worth to check out the specials as well. I pretty much studied the menu the entire day but when we got there and I've heard there is truffle gnocchi - I couldn't resist. However we started with a delicious burrata and some sourdough to share. Extremely yummie! The bread was super nice and soft and I love how they serve it with some olive oil - just like in Italy. Main course I had the special (Truffle Gnocchi) and my friend had the Spaghetti cacio e pepe! Just amazing, really! Dessert I can recommend a nice glass of Frangelico on ice 😋 I love how they serve it with a slice of lime. Big thank you to Beth, our beautiful waitress and also I think it was Andrea (?) - you really made a 'normal' Thursday night out super special! Thanks so much! Can't believe I live in Cronulla and never came here. Best dine in experience in a long time! Well done! xx Jana

Excellent entrees and true Italian dishes. Best ‘cacio e Pepe’ pasta in Sydney, beautifully served inside a ‘cacio’ cheese wheel (traditional Italian cheese). Great service, friendly staff and passionate Italian cook.

We haven’t been here for a while but it was good to go back. The service was good even though we had to wait for one of the dishes to come out given we had 4 people. It was friendly and the food was good but a few points cost them another star . Snitzel was overcooked as was the John Dory but both pastas were excellent. It is a very noisy place and not the place to go if you want good conversation.

Only one vegan option on the menu, would be great to see a few more additions (or meals that can be made vegan on request)

Even though it was very busy the staff were super attentive and didn’t have to wait too long for our meals. Great atmosphere, really relaxed and amazing food. the ragu was the best ! Would definitely go back !

Had a nice lunch here. Special was seafood platter for 2 and we really liked it. It was very fresh and each item was great. Could do with bit more calamari but makes up for that with plenty of prawns

Adoro i vostri spaghetti alla marinara! Penso di non averli mai mangiati così saporiti..
I love this restaurant. I strongly recommend: bistecca and potatoes, pasta marinara, panna cotta (oh my god!) And Tintilia catabbo or Petriera rosè wine!
Parola di un'italiana!
Booked a table for 10 on Fathers Day. We were given a choice table near the kitchen so we could watch the food prep and cooking. Throughout our 2 hour sitting, we ordered many entrees to share, all of which were faultless. Staff were attentive and polite. Highlight dishes: lamb ragou, aranchini and the zucchini flowers filled with prawn and cheese. We will certainly return! Highly recommended.

Italian flair at this beach side eatery offers modern Australian food with traditional Italian flavour profiles & dishes, such as stuffed zucchini flowers, arancini, bisteca Fiorentina or the snapper Aqua Pazza (cooked in crazy water). Panna cotta has the textbook wobble & there is an interesting wine list of many Italian wines to try.

We celebrated our 5th anniversary and as a newly engaged couple at Giro Osteria. We love Italian food because it reminds us of when we initially started dating. We used to eat out at Italian restaurants all the time (because Matt through it was romantic!)... So this definitely brought back memories.

I went here on the weekend and they managed to squeeze me in without a booking. The food is not cheap but it is delicious, inventive, service is great and the menu is not too large which I like. They can then focus on quality and get it out quickly. I tried the zucchini flowers, smoked quail and veal ragu. The ragu was slightly disappointing. The sauce was a bit light and watery. The zucchini flowers were steamed and plump full of prawn. The quail was lovely and smokey. All in all a delicious journey for the tastbuds and highly recommended. With a glass of wine it came to $72.00

Oriana and Joe do a fabulous job running Giro. Best Italian in the shire if not most of Sydney.
We are looked after every time. Highly recommend starting with a Salumi platter that's sliced fresh for you. Main recommend any house made pasta the sauces are to die for (not your typical carbonara, bolognese) much more rustic flavours. Another suggestion is the Pesce ala Aqua pazza 'fish in crazy water' snapper is amazing.
Thanks for your hospitality and I will always continue recommending people to your wonderful restaurant x

A little bit of Italy in the shire. Once again had the best night at giro osteria. The right ingredients for a great customer experience. Last forgot I was in Cronulla but in Italy. Not just the fabulous food and tremdous wines ( try the montelpulciano Di Abruzzo) but the service. True Italian style ! Humour and professionalism . Was I in Napoli or the shire? Aldo the waiter made our night!

Lovely service and great food. Impromptu date night with house red, 2 great cheeses, the burrata and Gorgonzola with honey with warm bread and EVOO. Pair that with prosciutto and bresaola. Amazing! Quail was out of my comfort zone but proved to be a dance of light and full flavours.

Best part was the knowledgeable, kind and lovely service. Great date night or nice family gathering Spot with a warm atmosphere.

We tried this restaurant about 12 months ago and was really disappointed in the service. We love Alphabet St (same owner) which has amazing food and service is second to none. We decided on Sunday to give Giro anther try. Again the service was appalling. My entree came out 25mins before my husbands and the staff really didn't get that there was something wrong with that. I had the gnocchi for a main and it was swimming in butter - I couldn't eat it. $260 wasted and we won't try it again. We will stick to Alphabet St which is just divine. Sorry guys.

From the moment we sat down our needs were catered for by every staff member. The customer service was with out fail. The waitress knew the menu by heart and recited the specials perfectly. The meat platter with bread and vegetables was good enough to be a main! But we were hungry, my partner had the beef ragu and pasta and I had the special of rack of lamb with tomato stuffed with spaghetti. The portions were acurate and very tasteful. The imported wine we selected companied the food perfectly. The restaurant, the employees, the food, the wine... All was without fault!... By far Cronullas best authentic Italian restaurant by the water!

About time we found a restaurant that ticked all the boxes!. Easy parking & location, fantastic food & customer service!
Each bite was a new sensation & the friendly/attentive customer service topped it off!
We will definitely be back to try other masterpieces on your menu!
10/10!

Great Food, Great Service, Superb Location. My wife and I were given a gift certificate to dine at Giro. Well, what a fantastic experience! Firstly the service was professional attentive. Then the food. Gorgeous!! So I've been telling everyone I know about Giro. I had some colleagues come from overseas and I had them changed their reservations at Quay to experience Giro. They are still talking about their experience.
So the proof is in trying Giro. Please do, you won't be disappointed.

The best meal and experience for a long time. Booked for 3 for a birthday. Everything was impeccable from our first greeting to our last goodbye. Food was to die for, especially the entrees of calamari, cheese balls and chickpea pancake. Service was the best I have had in years, friendly, appreciative and welcoming. Portions are what you would expect for great quality, fine food. If people want big portions then go to hogs breath next door! I will most certainly be back and will recommend. About time the shire caught up with the rest of sydney for dining!

This place pays attention to detail. From the complimentary filtered water, menu layout and choice, specials, interior design and I haven't even touched on the food.

Service is amazing. Friendly, fun and very warm.

Food tasted great and had great variety.

Definitely would come again.

Perfect for a date night.

Really a place to recommend for foodies

Worth another visit. We ate at Alphabet Street a couple of weeks back and Joe told us to try his new place next door. So we did

Things didn't start too well as when we arrived, on time, there were about 4 other parties waiting to be seated. We found out that the there was a large group in the earlier sitting that stayed late, so our tables were not ready. No big deal and we were seated in about 20 minutes, but not before being offered free drinks at the bar for our inconvenience, which was great. We order our meals and was then presented with the marinated olives as a starter, also on the house. Again, another nice touch.

The food was great and the service friendly and welcoming. Some have complained about the size of the meals, but I thought they were just right. I didn't need a dessert after an entree of smoked quail and the mains of whole snapper cook in Cronulla seawater, both of which could not be faulted.

The wine list is small and Italian. We ordered by the glass to match our entree and mains and all the wines were above average. An espresso order to finish the evening was better than expected.

Price was good for the quality of food presented, but if we been charged for the drinks at the bar and the olives, this would have change my value rating to reasonable.

Overall, a pleasant evening and will definitely return
Kate
The meals are small and expensive. Authentic whatever I just want to eat something decent for $30.
The staff are lovely and the fit out is awesome.
The wine list is too expensive drinking imported wine is environmentally irresponsible.
Go and get the salumi but that's kind of all it's got going for it
Sorry guys you are very sweet but I won't be back.

Went here for our wedding anniversary, mentioned this on booking in hope of getting a good table. On arrival, the managed noted the occasion and presented us with complimentary glasses of prosecco (which was beautiful and crisp!). Service was fabulous, food superb and the atmosphere intimate but lively. Other shire restaurants, please take note! Only recommendations are (from a coeliac sufferer) please get some gluten free bread from groundbake, Cronulla, so I can mop up more of the snapper sauce. And erect a small screen outside to block out some of the view to hogsbreath!

Quality not quantity. Good quality tasty food. However, portions were very small making it expensive for what you get.

The Full Italian Experience. We went there for Valentine's day dinner which was a set menu of several courses. However the food was great and seemed very authentic, the service excellent and no pressure, or the 'process line' feeling you get at most other places on Valentines Day.

I'm from Sydney and if this restaurant was in the city it would fail! Burnt lasagne and over cooked ribs. Cured meats were great though.

First visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit last night.....wonderful friendly service
And the food fantastic. Will definitely be back and as they change the menu every two weeks, should be plenty of choices.

I'm from Melbourne and had dinner here tonight for a Birthday. The food was delicious. We shared a board of salumi with condimentsb. This biught me back to Italy especially the ngughia I really thought I was in Calabria again !!!for main I had the pork it was also Devine the serve was very generous.
Our waitress Alice' was lovely, she was very attentiatjve. I met the head chef who was also very friendly and I complimented him on his extremely clean kitchen. The kitchen is open and you can watch them cooking. I will defiantly visit again !!

That's amore. Superb, unfussy, fresh food and outstanding service gave us a great experience at Giro Osteria. The authentic Italian food (well-thought out antipasti, super fresh seafood and simply prepared meats as opposed to gluggy carbonara) is perfect for the setting, pretty much bang on the beach.

The zucchini flowers (which usually leave me uninspired) were a highlight, the pork and chicken dishes were also outstanding (I got the feeling that the way each meat is prepared changes according to what's in season so next time we get to try something new).

A little on the pricier side but no more than you'd pay elsewhere in Cronulla - and still very good value considering the quality of produce, taste and personal service. So glad to have another nice addition to the local scene and we cant wait to go back.

Update: been back and they have improved. Food was fab... Service better and wine list impressive. Great dining spot for Cronulla.

I was really looking forward to eating at Giro, after loving their thai offer of Alphabet St but unfortunately we were let down. It took a long time before we were even acknowledged by the staff for our reservation, menus took just as long to arrive and overall just not great service except for the bar staff. We ordered the ricotta balls for entrée they were good. For the mains the Italian sausage pasta would have been quite nice if the pasta was cooked properly, even so, the flavours weren't very exciting! The pork dish was nice but not really Italian. Id still go back for another go because I really expected something better from them
