Outstanding food! If you want a T bone, gravy and chips walk the other way but if you want vibrant, delicious healthy food for breakfast or lunch then this is easily the best place in the Shire and I would suggest the best I've had anywhere.
Very inventive menu chocked full of utterly delicious dishes. I'm working my way through the menu and each dish I've tried would bring me back let alone the excitement of trying a new dish.
I'll finish as I started "Outstanding!!"
This was my first visit to "the pantry" and it was awesome!!
The basil yoghurt, fruit & granola was without a doubt THE best I've ever tasted!!
Blown away by how that combo even worked?!
Poached eggs & toast for my doggy - which she smashed! Lol
To top it off the 2 waitresses that I encountered were so lovely - sadly I didn't catch their names (both had dark hair & killer tans lol)
...the only downside was the construction noise next door
We turned up for Fathers Day brekky at 8:30, the place was packed but the maitre de got us a table almost straight away.
I have never eaten there before, what a mistake!
Our food arrived within 5 mins after ordering, coffee straight after.
Oh I forgot to mention the food, I had Turkish poached eggs.
The eggs sat in a bed of Dukka and Chimichurri garnished with yoghurt and paprika oil, wow!
Best brekky I can remember.
The young girls waiting worked their butt off and we still very friendly and efficient.
To top it off the guy we paid our bill to was very friendly too. Best tip I've given for a long time.
Needless to say don't go there in case you take the last table!
Highly recommended!
Blackwood Pantry has been my go to spot for breakfast since they opened, my friends and I are regulars now. We love the food, the vibe, the staff and the owners. The owners are hands down some of the best people I know and it's always a treat going to Blackwood to have a great feed and catch up with the boys!!
Staff here are so attentive to your needs and service is spot on. Robs food is amazing no matter what you pick on the menu. Love love love the place and people. Well done guys now I've visited it person I'm very impressed
I just love this place, creative artisan menu, fresh produce and presentation amazing, wait staff friendly and attentive, even though they don't take bookings the wait time for a table is worth it, the coffee was beautifully smooth and the right temperature and the barista was a true craftsman.
From when you step in the door...staff welcome you with a smile and courtesy. The meals are outstanding and service is fast. A very enjoyable experience. The best place in Cronulla for breakfast. Tom Vujevic
Great food 🍴
Excellent coffee ☕️
Constant busy flow of people
Friendly staff
Great chefs
Highly recommend
Staff are super friendly and well organized and I had the most amazing barramundi dish today, I’m hoping you make it a permanent fixture on your menu!
Blackwood Pantry is my favourite. Great coffee? Tick. Fresh juices? Tick. Amazing brunch? Tick. Friendly staff? Tick. And now opening for dinner - hands down one of the best meals I have ever had. Hats off to Chef Rob and the rest of the crew.
Wunderbares Frühstück mit sehr leckerem Kaffee.
Mir schmeckten besonders die seasonal fruits with basil yoghurt.
All day breakfast ....gute Idee!
Blackwood Pantry was a great place for our farewell lunch the owner was such a nice person & had a table for 9 for us within 5 minutes. The food was amazing & the service exceptional, such friendly people, we will be back for sure
Love Blackwood pantry. The food and service as amazing.
It is the best Chai I have ever had.
Daniel is there most days to greet all customers with a friendly smile.
If you want great food, great service and a fabulous atmosphere Blackwood's is where you need to go!
I never take time out to write a review, but you guys are amazing! We will definitely be back! Friendly staff and super quick service! I was really surprised considering how busy it was today! 5 stars from me!
I got the octopus and a cappuccino and both tasted really good. Loved the baba ganoush and the middle eastern flavours. However, waited about 30minutes for a table and food was slow.

1) Quinoa Falafel Bowl - It sounds like a simple dish but had the respect and finese for the veg, It wasn't an overly dressed salad but still enough so you weren't eat plain raw veges. Everything worked so that it was a clean light tasting salad (except for that chutney on the avo, threw off the flavour of the salad)
2) Nourish Bowl - A very clean tasting bowl where the flavours were simple but executed well. I don't feel like cinnamon and sweet potato is a flavour combo so I didn't quite understand that element
Drove 50min from Sydney on Saturday morning to have brunch there and it was worthy
We ordered octopus, fried quinoa and morning glory. Everything was delicious and portion of food was huge.
The sweet potato was so tasty and the grapes in the octopus were amazing.
The cafe was quite busy but the service was great.
Fantastic place to experience hearty and healthy food. Tried the sweet potato and carrot fritters with one of their house made juices. Absolutely amazing! I would have again no problems. Service was friendly and professional too. Located in a laneway so no traffic to compete with. Highly recommended.
Wonderful flavours on their take on the “Avo on toast”. Well presented and fast service. Only negative was when I first walked in, there wasn’t a clear indication from either one of the two staff behind the counter (who were chatting to each other) so I just walked to a table and sat down. However once seated the service was prompt.
Went to Blackwood Pantry for lunch yesterday and was immensely impressed 🤩 The food is so creative but yet still delicious. There are so many options on the menu to choose from and the restaurant is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. 🥦 However the restaurant overall is a bit pricey and there is a bit of a wait for a table and for your food.
Overall, I throughly recommend this restaurant but the best idea would be to go on a weekday and not at around 11am. 🥰

Be prepare for the loooooong queue as this one totally the best cafe at Cronulla. Waiting for 45 minutes in the rainy day and it’s totally worth it. Love the place, ambience and their warm hearted food and drink. Simple yet delicious.
COCONUT HOTCAKE ($19) – Fresh blueberries & pomegranate, passionfruit curd, sliced coconut. For the dessert lovers out there, I assure you that this is the best soury taste dishes you’ve ever tasted in your life. The combination of the sweet hotcake and the passionfruit curd make this dish to die for! (9/10)
OAT, GARLIC & HERB CRUMBED CHICKEN SCHNITZEL served with roasted Jerusalem artichokes and a truffled kohlrabi slaw. As it is the new menu, so we don’t know the exact price. For the taste, I think it is one of the most delicious chicken schnitzel we have ever taste in Sydney because not only does the chicken taste good but the sides enhance the flavour of the chicken. (9/10)
MUSHROOM BRUSCHETTA ($19) – Sauteed mushrooms, hummus, whipped goats cheese, crispy chickpeas, pinenuts, fresh rocket with garlic truffle oil on toasted. If you are a big mushroom fan, this one is suitable for you. This dish holds both flavour and texture because usually mushroom dishes are soggy but in here, you get the crispiness from the chickpeas and pinenuts that make this dish beautiful! (8/10)
MORNING GLORY ($21) – Soft boiled egg, chorizo, tandoori roasted sweet potato, kale, pickled red onion, whipped goat cheese and avocado. If you’re looking for a complete breakfast, then you should order this. The components of this dish are so many that you wouldn’t get bored eating it! (8/10)
Their specials dishes of the day: HUMBLE CRUMBLE ($15) – baked coconut crumble with pineapple, strawberry and vanilla served with a fresh vanilla bean whipped cream. And we’re lucky enough because it’s only available at weekend. This dish is like a replication of the apple crumble but all the components are different, the taste is also on another level as it tastes different every time you eat it. (9/10)
HOT MASALA CHAI LATTE ($4) – So, masala chai latte is brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs like cardamom, black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, star anise and vanilla mixed with milk. Not all cafe could make a good chai latte. The proportion of its element is important to make the great one and Blackwood pantry could delivered a perfect masala chai latte! Love it! (10/10)
I love this brunch place - the food is wholesome, delicious and in very hearty portion sizes. I had the morning glory bowl with poached eggs and a cappuccino. I also love that it’s so close to the beach, so we went for a refreshing coastal wall to walk off the food afterwards.
4.5/5
Love the menu and vibe here. The falafel salad and big brekkie is very sastifying. However I wish there’s less rocket/leaves :p
I would love to try more from the menu.
Happy with our experience.
Pretty busy and fast paced cafe in Cronulla. Many locals and the staff are well trained. I ordered “Morning Glory” w mushroom on the side. So the portion makes more sense. It was good but the price is a bit much. Just the morning glory by itself was $21 and plus mushrooms $6. For the drink, I had Chai Latte. To my surprise, it was served unfiltered. So I had to filter it myself and it became no froth. Disappointed as I like frothy hot drinks.
Outstanding service, excellent coffee and fantastic food with a good rotation of brunch specials and seasonal menu changes so we don’t get bored.
Awesome place to enjoy a meal with friends. Food is creative, service is friendly and there is a great vibe.
Check it out when visiting Cronulla
Delicious simple clean food done right.
This place was pumping when I visited.
Service was attentive and food came out in good time.
I had the Turkish eggs. The labne was creamy and the flavours faultless. Hubbie has falafel made from Quinoa and veggies in their falafel bowl. Taste of the falafel itself was yum but the dressing they used on the salad wasn’t to my taste. Lucky I didn’t order it. Hubby also commented not the best dressing but not too bad.
Would return to try more. Loved it.
Modern. Upbeat. Friendly. Flavourful. Instagramable. All good words you want to hear about a restaurant.
Open setting with individual and shared tables, Blackwood Pantry is a fairly packed in place to eat. Despite this, it doesn’t feel extremely overcrowded and the noise seems balanced out by the upbeat background music.
Also, even more impressive, is the efficiency of the staff and kitchen team. You order and the food is out in about 10 minutes. The turn over of tables is pretty impressive, but you don’t feel rushed.
Staff are really friendly which is essential in such a venue when service can be somewhat lost. Well done. The male host was out the front drawing people in with a causal and calm approach. Making you feel welcomed and that you didn’t have to wait. Again, well done.
The food was great. All well presented. And it seemed to fill you up. The only let down to this place was paying almost $24 for the Miso Avo dish which was one piece of toast, half an avocado, miso and one poached egg. Seems a bit extortionate for such a dish. I guess a place like this, with all the above good qualities, knows that people will pay these prices.
Great location, with parking around the corner. Hot cakes were really good but unfortunately Chia Pudding was a let down. It literally was just a blob of chia pudding on a bit too much syrup. Might go for a savoury dish instead like my friend did if I’m ever around again.
Enjoyed a nice breakfast here on a recent visit to Sydney, my partner and I picked the outdoor seating and enjoyed the warm weather in Cronulla. Blackwood Pantry is located in a lane way but is quite easy to find and only a short stroll from the beach.
Their menu has a great selection of dishes but we decided on the following: Turkish poached eggs with chorizo and the bacon & egg ciabatta with haloumi. The dishes were presented well and the servings are very generous, both dishes were delicious and very tasty.
Overall a nice experience here and will certainly be back when visiting in Sydney to try more from their menu. Would definitely recommend this cafe to others!
Blackwood Pantry hands down has the best Iced Chai Latte in the Shire. We wish we could say the same about the burger. It was quite pricey overall for what we ordered but I'm glad I found my local Chai cafe!. I've gone back to Blackwood Pantry so many times, I can't even remember when I ordered a Chai anywhere else in the Shire. I love it iced or hot - both have that perfect amount of spice, sweetness, creaminess and consistency. I'm craving a Chai now...
Service was really good as the staff was really friendly. We feel we were being taken good care of. This was the first time that we’ve been here, and the food really great and we will definitely come back again!
this has got to be one of my favourite cafes ever. Blackwood Pantry has a warm, welcoming ambience and is always buzzing, you're lucky if you get a table. They have a unique menu with a range of flavoursome options, and their service is very good. The quinoa falafel bowl was absolutely amazing - they used a range of spices such as cumin and the produce was all very Nice and fresh. The porridge was also so yummy; with the perfect consistency and sweetness! Their servings are very generous also. I literally will keep coming back until I've tried most of the menu, definitely recommend coming down at least once!
Dropped in over Easter weekend. Very tasty food and also had a dessert that wasn't on the menu. Amazing food. Not cheap, you get what you pay for. Definitely will be returning.

I have considered myself a regular at Blackwood Pantry for a couple of years now, and this energitic cafe has grown with popularity. A short waiting list has become standard in recent times, but for good reason.
-
The morning glory is a dish which speaks to my heart and tickles my soul; simple, filling and well prepared. The scrambled is like velvet and keeps it's shape well. The chorizo features a subtle spice and is the star of the dish, trailed closely by the sweet spud which is seasoned perfectly. Whilst I ordinarily would not get excited over a side of kale, the pantry has found a way to make this nutrient packed super food, which is typically more appealing to the active-wear clad Shire housewife, quite palatable. The sourdough is light and a delight. The whipped goats cheese, (AKA nectar of the gods) does no wrong whilst the pickled red onion and avo (served as a half with skin on) round out a generously portioned dish.

The Breaky Recce verdict: Underrated, overrated or rated?

Blackwood Pantry boasts a very respectable 4.3 rating, but quite frankly, this is not enough. This cafe consistently produces high quality meals with great service, therefore the Breaky Recce considers it to be UNDERRATED
My birthday breakfast this year was spent here. It was quite the choice trying to pick which cafe in Cronulla to go to. Must admit it wasn't as easy as I thought to find the right lane this cafe was hidden in (even as a local). We were the first customers for the day (apart from the people ordering their coffee) and I could instantly tell why this place was rated so highly. The waitress was nice and our food came out a good time after being ordered. We ordered the French Toast, Turkish poached eggs, Coconut hotcakes, OJ, Iced latte and latte. The French Toast's rhubarb was hard to finish but all the food was perfect and the whole experience was memorable. The Turkish poached eggs was definitely the dish that stood out. Would love to return and try the different additions to their menu.
HOT CAKES HOT CAKES HOT CAKES!!! I cannot highly recommend these enough! Make sure to order them at the end of your meal they are SO worth it. Their is something about the coconut ice-cream and just the whole filling of the hot cake, i was honestly left speechless. I also ordered their new dragon blue smoothie bowl. It was nice but wasn't AMAZING, as i've tasted better. Although the presentation is 10/10, the staff are extremely nice and the cafe is in a great location, however can get very busy during weekends. I will definitely be back for more!
The coffee was ok but food was amazing. Had the strongly recommended poached eggs and the sweet potato chips, all really tasty. The milkshake was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was good but had to queue a while as it s the Saturday lunch time. Dog friendly:)
Came here after my friend raved about how good the Turkish eggs were (she loves her meat and knowing this was a vegetarian dish I knew it had to be a good one 😂) and of course ordered the Turkish eggs with a side of sweet potato fries. The dish was absolutely delicious and creamy (the pesto was so yum 😋)! The side of sweet potato fries was also delicious (it came with a side of this Smokey barbecue sauce which paired really well with the fries). I would highly recommend this super cute cafe to everyone and would definitely like to come back and try more of their dishes!!
Being from Melbourne, I had found this place on Instagram and have been wanting to visit for at least a year; finally got to head down to Cronulla on a Thursday morning!
No wait time on a table and there was plenty of spare seats, from what I hear this isn’t the case on weekends.
We ordered the smashing pumpkins (added eggs) and the smoked Kobe brisket sub- both phenomenal! The activated charcoal bread was an interesting change of pace, tasted great and added a nice texture.
Service was sort of slow given how quiet it was but it added a more chilled out vibe which I suppose you get in a beachside town.
Coffee was great, staff were lovely
If you are over in the shire whether it’s for a day trip or a little getaway be sure to add this to your pit stops.
I’ve been there probably about 3 - 4times and I still love how much flavour is packed into their dishes. The staff were super friendly when I visited and spent the time to get to know us. They Defiantly made us feel welcomed!
If you're wondering what to choose on their current menu you have the Avocado, Tomato, Goats cheese dish which is always a winner or the Coconut Hotcakes which always is worthy of a gram! But you can't really go to wrong with any of their dishes!
P.S. These pic's are from a while back but it just shows you how delicious everything looks!

Tucked in a laneway, we came here for my birthday brunch after our daughter had breakfast here and arrived home raving about the food! And we weren't disappointed. Arriving about 10:30 we were seated almost immediately (an hour later, there was a queue for tables).
I had the Avocado, Tomato, Goats cheese - Toasted sourdough, balsamic, dukkha spice, basil oil with a poached egg (next time I'll order TWO poached eggs)
One of our daughters had the Coconut lime Snapper Ceviche - Snapper, cucumber, chili, heirloom tomato, onion, pomegranate, coriander w/ coconut lime dressing- which she said was FANTASTIC!
Our son had the smoked kobe brisket - which he absolutely LOVED!
Hubby had the breakfast foccaia with bacon, egg, mushrooms and haloumi - he claims it was the best he's had in a while.
Our other daughter had the "PAV Bowl" - Passionfruit, mango & banana smoothie bowl topped with shaved coconut, crumbled meringue, kiwi fruit, strawberry and freeze dried raspberries. - looked and tasted amazing!
We also enjoyed coffees, a chai latte (made with REAL spices, not the powered "stuff") and a turmeric late - all very good :-)
We'll DEFINITELY go back, but most likely through the week.
The only reason I didn't give a rating of 5, was the level of noise while dining inside - everyone talking, music in the background (hard surfaces: ceiling, walls, and floors) perhaps some acoustics to absorb the noise wouldn't go astray.
Absolutely love coming to Blackwood pantry! The service is always great with fast seating, friendly and helpful servers and management who are willing to chat to chat when they recognise you.
Coffee is consistently great, as is the food.
Menu has something for everyone.
Favourite meal: morning glory
Pictures: vegan chilli
Fantastic!
A great place for brekky or brunch with a refreshingly different and diverse menu. While you can expect to pay above average for a meal/drink, it is worth every cent.
You won't be disappointed!
Would 10/10 recommend the morning glory and a cold brew if you're feeling hungry.
One of the best brunch places I have been to in Sydney. I had the falafel bowl and it was amazing and very refreshing for the afternoon I had visited. The only drawback for me for the long waiting line, but it was totally worth it. Must try the cookies at the place!
Blackwood Pantry has an awesome menu that seems to vary seasonally (best to follow them on Instagram to see when new menu items pop up, though). The 'old fashioned' sourdough toast with peaches + ricotta and bourbon maple syrup is a real winner. The coffee is a stand-out too.
To sum up: The food is fresh, the staff are polite, and the decor is bright and beautiful. It's a lovely place to have brunch. The only thing I don't like is that when it's a full house, the two seater tables can feel a bit close together - but that's a minor issue when you consider the quality of the food and service.
I’ve always heard great things about this cafe but never bothered to try it. I’m so glad I visited! Service was outstanding, the iced tea was incredible and the food... OMG! I ordered a salad but gosh was it full of flavour! Incredible, keep up the great work🙌
Tucked away in one of the small side streets of Cronulla is the doggo friendly Blackwood Pantry. The interior is modern and the plate envy is high as all the foods on the other tables looks delicious.
The coffee is strong and tasty. The watermelon and strawberry slushee is refreshing on this 30° day. It doesn't taste like any sugar was added and its all sweet, fresh fruits.
The Bacon and Egg Ciabatta with added haloumi was stacks on stacks of goodness. The tomato chutney sauce was smashing. The Smoked Kobe Brisket Sub was yum! The kimchee and peanut slaw added a real good crunch to the sandwich. The side of sweet potato fries with the Blackwood signature mayo was mouthwatering and adds a new layer of texture between each bite of the sandwich.
The staff are cool. They're helpful with the menu, come around during the meal to make sure things are going well and are very quick with getting food and drinks out.
There's so much more to try on the menu so we'll be back for sure!
Great spot in Cronulla with matching food. Got the morning glory with sweet potato fries and avocado on toast. A little on the pricey side but worth it. Only downside is can get very busy on weekends.
Good service, well presented food, nice atmosphere. Got the Turkish eggs, basil yogurt and the sweet potato chips. The food isn’t anything genius but it is tasty and does make for a good instagram pic.
I ordered the turkis eggs and an iced chai. I was not disspointed as I had to make the trip down to Cronulla but I really enjoyed the food. The only negative was that the oced chai was super sweet and as it was brought to the table in two different glasses (one with milk and honey, the other one withe the sticky chai) so it was difficult to blend well, but once I get past it it was good (still very sweet though).
Liked the look of the place and the service was also good since the waitress and the cashier were super friendly and up beat.
My go-to for brunch in Cronulla!! Phenomenal service, outstanding food and smooth coffee! Will keep going back for more! A few favourites include the sweet potato fries with black garlic aioli and their Turkish eggs. I'm officially drooling...
Found yourself on the scenic side of Sydney? Want a decent meal and a coffee like your regular in the city? Thankfully there's Blackwood Pantry! Tucked away in Cronulla is the best cafe in the area. They have a great menu with a lot of options, creative and the classics; and they also have speciality coffee - phew! No wonder their rating is so high!
This place is so good, I will honestly come all the way back to Cronulla from the city just to have their hotcakes!
Recommendations: The hotcakes, of course. They are very rich though! I should have listened to the menu when it's meant to be to share after a meal :D Their filter coffee isn't bad either!

On a Saturday morning after a long hike around the Royal National Park this budding foodie was beyond hungry. Having heard fantastic reviews for Blackwood Pantry this cafe was our top choice amongst the other local gems in Cronulla.
The interior of the cafe was nice and spacious with a mini bamboo garden on display behind the tall windows on one side of the floor. This provided fantastic natural lighting and I am sure was a god send for instagram photographers (no side kick holding torches). The service was also very good and the waiter gladly catered for our preference to sit indoors after already been seated down outside.
As for the food, it was mind blowingly good. Sweet potato chips have always been the apple to my eve, sinfully sweet, soft, salty and soggy. These ones weren't the crunchiest that I've tasted and a little too oily but neverless were divine to a food starved foodie. The jerusalem artichoke and chicken salad was also very good with the chicken nice and juicy. Not to mention the availability of almond milk in the coffee menu is always a plus for me.
Highly recommended.
High quality food and coffee makes this a great choice in Cronulla. Getting a table can be a short wait but the hosts are super friendly and obliging. The special dish here is there Miso AVO with black sesame and poached eggs. Amazing!! But everything is outstanding so you really can't go wrong. Top it off with friendly service and great coffee and this is easily one of Cronulla if not Sydney's best cafes.
If you have read my other posts, you would know that I am more familiar with the north shore / city area of Sydney and have never really explored the south, so today I decided to head towards south, on a pretty long train ride, because I was feeling a lil’ bit ‘adventurous’. I’ve actually been drooling over food photos of Blackwood Pantry on instagram for quite a while now, and lucky me, my friend is actually a local there and she highly recommends this place too so I decided to give it a go!
Literally my FAVOURITE cafe I have been to in Sydney hands downnnnn
Blackwood Pantry, you have my foodie heart!!
Have tried almost their whole menu in about 8 visits 😂
Everything about their menu looks amazing, and the taste backs it up too!
Food presentation is always very pleasant and it is very obvious that they care about their plating
Favourite dish has got to be the Turkish Poached Eggs! Definitely would recommend! Will honestly be so so devastated if this gets taken off the menu
Snapper ceviche and the grilled octopus weigh up amazingly as well
Can't forget about the drinks - can never go wrong with the apple, mint, aloe Vera and cucumber juice as well as the pineapple and mint slushee!
Very very reasonably priced cafe with a lovely fresh modern look to it down in Cronulla
Been eyeing this dish off on social media for months so when I finally made it in I was very excited. And after finishing it I wasn't let down. The passionfruit curd was.nice and tangy, toasted coconut gave a great flavour
Fantastic food. I can see why Blackwood is such a popular place. I ordered the quinoa falafel plate. They gave me a if chunk of avacado (half of it) in the dish. The quinoa balls were amazing. Never knew you could make falafels out of other things.
I would deduct a mark for the eggs. Mine was really watery. It felt watery and tasted watery. Someone must have poached it wrong. Other than that though, highly recommend this place. I skipped lunch after this big feast!
We just tried this cafe last week after a night duty and damn! food taste good! coffee is spot on! Their pork belly in panini is great! didn't expect it to be good as no one is there early in the morning. Would highly recommend this place when you visit cronulla.
Amazing food, service and atmosphere!
Great range of options on the menu I love the avo smash with poached egg but some dishes like the falafel bowl have a few too many ingredients - simplicity is a better in some instances
Braved the long drive all the way down to Cronulla for this place, and it was well worth it. The staff here are amazing and were always very attentive. The food and coffees came out promptly, despite the cafe being nearly at full capacity. The food is unique and well thought out. There were also delicious looking pastries at the front.
They also all for split billing which is a plus as well!
If your thinking of making your way out to Cronulla then I highly recommend Blackwood Pantry. Hidden in the back of an alley, away from sight is this gem of a restaurant. Every dish is created and made with thought and dedication and so it's no surprise it tastes so good. I recommend you try the basil yoghurt which was a real highlight for me. The presentation is spectacular and the service is on par. Definitely one of my all time favourites, if only it was closer to Sunday!
Travelled all the way down to the south of Sydney to check this place out. The boy and I ordered the Morning Glory, Turkish Poached Eggs and of course, a dessert dish, Coconut Hotcakes along with our extra strong flat whites. Personally felt that Turkish Poached eggs was probably the better dish outta the first two as Morning Glory for me was a bit mediocre. But the coconut hotcakes were hands down the best dish, leaving me with a smile as we left the cafe. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE HOTCAKES, plus they are super pretty on camera :)
Personally, I reckon this is the best cafe restaurant in Cronulla! Dishes are beautiful. Good range of vegetarian selection! The Fremantle Grilled Octopus is so delicious!!!
Order the 'Black Chyna' and you can't go wrong! The standard of food here is outstanding, the service is sometimes a little lacking, but thats usually because they are so busy. Looking forward to trying the whole menu.
Delicious food and amazing service! I recommend ordering the Morning Glory and the hot cakes. Definitely my favourite little brunch spot in Cronulla.
One of the best local cafes in my area. Cute interior, great staff and the food was delicious. The chicken salad was my favourite even though it was just chicken and salad the flavours in the chicken made it really appealing (and I usually don't brag about salad! ) would definitely come back to try the other dishes on the menu.
This place is cool, hip, young and fresh. This is the kind of brunch spot you go to with a girlfriend to catch up with on a beautiful Sunday morning, it's loud enough for you gals to chat without having the table next to you knowing exactly what you got up when recounting your stories from Saturday night! Wear your gym gear because it'll be nice to go for a stroll along the beach straight after.
Everything was delicious and service was impeccable! Don't let the crowds scare you, we were going to get takeaway but it was only a 5 minute wait. Coffee, sweet potato fries, Morning glory and Turkish bread with poached eggs was great! Highly recommended!
Today was a solid 5 star rating. Our 3rd or 4th time but always outstanding. I was sad to see the strawberry balsamic goat cheese toast was not on the menu BUT tears were stopped with the coconut hot cake - OH WOW!!!! Not your typical pancake - more like a Johnny cake topped with an amazing passion fruit curd, fresh berries & delicious toasted coconut. Our servers aid her favourite - we agree!!!
Beloved got the morning glory and for someone who wants to like kale but can't - again WOW! Don't know how they did it but it was slightly wilted with goat cheese and light dressing. Excellent tandoori roasted sweet potato, chorizo, perfect scrambled eggs with sour dough toast and avo. Fantastic.
Cold brew coffee & fresh squeezed juice great choices.

I rarely go out to Cronulla, come to think of it, I don't think I've ever come out this way to eat. I was pleasantly surprised how many eateries were around here.
Came out here for a foodie event and was able to try many of the popular items on the menu. I absolutely loved the different flavours that they had to offer. Everything seemed so fresh, colourful and delicious. He chefs passion for food definitely shines through in each of the dishes.
The cafe seemed pretty busy as it was full before we all got there. Loved the interior of the cafe. I will definitely make more effort to travel to Cronulla for this cafe.
Visited Blackwood Pantry with three of my friends after an early morning shopping trip and we loved it! We only had a short wait and the service was great from the moment they took my name down all throughout our meal.
I got the Apple, Aloe Vera, Cucumber & Mint juice and so did another of my friends and the other two opted for the freshly squeezed Orange juice and the Pineapple, Coconut, Lychee & Mint slushie. All were so fresh and a great way to start the morning. For food I got the Strawberry Ricotta Toast and my friends got Turkish Poached Eggs and Morning Glory. My toast was beautiful, so simple but the flavours worked so well together and you could tweak the sweetness since it comes with your own little honey pot (so cute). And I have been assured all the other meals were just as good. The eggs were perfectly poached, the paprika in the Turkish Poached Eggs dish was an ingenious addition and when the Morning Glory includes chorizo, avocado and sweet potato, it's hard to go wrong with that choice!
The only thing I could suggest is that a group of four like ours be seated on a larger table as we barely had any room to move. The place itself was so bright and open and we couldn't help but buy a couple of cronuts on our way out. Had a great experience here and definitely recommend a visit!
Travelled from Sydney's north west to try this cafe and it did not disappoint. We arrived at about 10am on a Saturday morning and it was packed however we were seated within a few minutes. I ordered the strawberry ricotta toast and a chai latte whilst my friend ordered the morning glory and pineapple, coconut, lychee and mint slushie. We also ordered sweet potato chips to share. I loved my meal - it was delicious and felt very refreshing. It is a little sweet so if you're not a sweet tooth, it may not be for you. The strawberries were so fresh and ripe. But my absolute favourite was the sweet potato chips. They were some of the best chips I have ever had. The flavouring on them was sensational and the sauce that came with them was just amazing! My friend was also very happy with her dish. The chai latte was okay however because it came with a teapot and sieve and I had to pour it myself etc, it wasn't as frothy and creamy as I would have liked it to be. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Great service and delicious food. The menu on here is also wrong so I have uploaded the autumn menu.
This wonderful cafe has been open for 5 months and I didn't even know. By chance we went there today for lunch and boy was I impressed. I went up to the counter as the cafe was full with people waiting for a table. He asked me was I interested in a table which I said can I look at the menu first he then went through each item with me quickly but he didn't have to . I said ok I will wait. Within 15 minutes we were led to our table by a delightful waitress who was pleasant and cheerful.
The place just oozed of good food and quality service. We ended up ordering the poached salmon with Bok Choi, chick pea and Beetroot houmos and pumpkin seeds. Absolutely delicious.
The people are terrific so don't wait go there and enjoy and by the way they have a bubba Gump burger which is prawns and chorizo .
Loved this place! The food was absolutely amazing and the cafe was decorated beautifully. Our waitress was lovely and we had great service. I had the morning glory for my meal and it was delicious! The portion size was generous and every mouthful was divine. I would rate this as one of the best brunches i have had in a long time. Would definitely come and eat here again.
Loved this place. By far one of my favorite cafes in cronulla. The menu is short but should have enough to entice you. Great quality food at cafe prices, service was great. The chicken salad was divine, a perfectly roasted chicken thigh And drumstick accompanied by a lightly dressed radicchio salad w peanuts and corns. Healthy yet utterly satisfying. The morning glory breakfast was extremely generous, scrambled eggs w kale, goats cheese, chorizo and half an avocado. Perfectly balanced and filling. I would come back in a heartbeat.
Love this lil cafe! Although a bit far for me! But I will go the distance for good food! Try their Strawberry ricotta toast or the basil strawberry yogurt for something out of this world!! Service was top notch too! So if you are in Cronulla definitely worth a visit!
Great customer service! Great food! Great atmosphere! Always pumping no matter what time of the day it is!
I love seeing owners working and giving their staff a helping hand! Highly recommend the miss piggy. So delicious! Blackwood pantry is a MUST!
I recently attended a foodie event in Cronulla's latest cafe - Blackwood Pantry. It was a bit of trek from the city, but the company of fellow foodies and quality food certainly made the trip worthwhile.
On the day we got to experience five course shared platters and a cake specially made for the occasion. In my observation the cafes these days spend a lot of focus and effort on the presentation of platting, food becoming more colourful and prettier to eat. If you have been to the likes of Flower Child, Ms Murray, Haven, you would know what I mean. Blackwood Pantry certainly follows closely to this trend. Each course was carefully decorated with rich vibrant colours and mix with various textures. It is food photographers' heaven.
The standout dish for me was the strawberry, crushed pistachio nuts, and ricotta cheese on toasted sourdough drizzled with honey. It was light, flavours worked well together and texture complement each other well. The lamb shoulder was tender but was bland unfortunately. I am not a fan of the poached eggs with mushroom and yogurt, the whole plate tasted gooey and sloppy for me.
We got to meet the chef and owner in the end and applauded them for the hospitality and good food. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves and new friendships were formed. This is what food is about - provide happiness and bring like-minded people together.
SIMPLY AMAZING FOOD. The people and place are equally as amazing. I love the chill vibes that this place gives off, everybody seems so relaxed. The Buddha bowls are actually to die for. So healthy yet so delicious.. I don't know how they do it ! I would drive all the way here just for their brunch. Not even joking, that's just how good they are.
A new treasure was discovered this January at Cronulla & its name is Blackwood Pantry. Clean, airy, beautiful describes the space, people & food. Good vibes is the motto & that's what you get from the moment you are greeted. Food is by previous 3 Michelin starred chef Rob Lechowicz & he has created a perfect menu for clean, tasty beach-side dining. Love the option of the menu all day and if you must catagorise, the Turkish Eggs is a standout for a savoury dish for breakfast / brunch. Perfectly poached eggs on a tumble of mixed mushrooms & a kick in the paprika spiked yogurt. Healthy, hearty & refreshing. Let's not forget the sweets - Fresh Basil yogurt made me apprehensive but it was such a surprising delight. Paired with fresh seasonal fruit - in my case fresh figs & strawberries & with that crunch from candied pecans & add a side of muesli, it was a winner. The balsamic strawberry ricotta on sourdough was so beautiful especially with a side pot of honey to be drizzled on to your own liking, but was a bit hard to eat for my clumsy self. The French toast is out of this world, although to me, it was a perfect dessert with the delightful peppery custard & buttery, crunchy brioche cubes.
Lunch is unbelievable with Vanilla poached salmon melting in your mouth & that beetroot hummus could easily be a dish on its own. Dukkah crusted lamb should is slow cooked into a sticky glazed, pullapart with your fork goodness & perfectly balanced with a crispy, zingy, refreshing salad. And those beer battered fries with a dusting of paprika & accomopanying aioli is fought for at the table for good reason. Another must!
Don't forget the great coffee and a must have drink is their salted caramel and OREO milkshakes. OMG they are OUT of this WORLD!
Chef Rob Lechowicz comes with pedigree to the Blackwood Pantry, in Sydney's iconic shire - Sutherland - and great Aussie beach hub, Cronulla. Call it lifestyle, name it personal achievement, for Rob is part of a three person team behind this delightful easy going village gathering point with a buzz and culinary adventure. Rob, together with Paul Pisani and Daniel Sorridimi, has collaborated on a menu with careful harmonised ingredients that bring out their best in taste and culinary outcomes, as well proving an optimal and practical selection of alcohol offerings, teas and coffee blends.Brewtown Newtown lost Sam Cornish to man the exacting barista quality at Blackwood Pantry - and it shows. Roasted beans are sourced from Artificer, Reuben Hills and Edition, so there is no lack of lack of choice. Chef Rob was the Executive Sous Chef at the Greenhouse in London and the Premier Chef-de-Partie at the Chateau Cordeillan Bages in Pauillac - both are establishments blessed with two Michelin stars. On the day of visit, Rob can be seen focused intense at his passion behind the open kitchen counter, a vibe that spreads to his hard working staff, who maintain a friendly interactive despite a busy afternoon. They do not insist on a customer ordering at the counter as many other cafes do. When they ask how everything is, it is not perfunctory but with an effort to know how and why, in a natural way.
Funnily enough, my dining partner and I usually end up picking the same item and the Morning Glory was my second choice after the Buddha Bowl. I also really enjoyed it, especially the chorizo. However the highlight of the entire dish was the avocado! There has been an avocado drought which has meant that I have not been able to afford avocados lately. $4 for one? No way.
I had been here twice for coffee (coffee is by The Grounds) and although the decor is lovely, fresh, modern and the service is friendly the coffee is too weak for me. However I was desperate to try the food pouring out of the kitchen that looked amazing.
So finally on the weekend I got there and lucky I was early, the place was heaving and we were all squeezed in.
Menu ranges from $11 (basil yogurt) to $18 (Morning Glory) and you can go sweet and naughty (the decked out milkshakes and deconstructed french toast) or clean and healthy (a fresh juice and the Buddha Bowl or Morning Glory). All our food was delicious.
I ordered the Turkish Eggs ($16) which packed a flavour punch. Would have preferred wholemeal or whole seed bread (the sourdough was a bit blah but the whole seed on the kids breakfast plate looked delicious and good for mopping up runny eggs). I left satisfied and keen to go back to try the basil yogurt and some of the lunch salads. Oh and the ricotta toast with strawberries and honey - it looked delicious.
01/09/2016: Update
My rating of 4 stars stands. I went to try the yogurt with basil oil. Beautifully presented and delicious with creamy yogurt with crunchy macadamia nut pieces, edible flowers and the basil oil that packs a punch. It shouldn't work....but it does. Try it!
Update: 11.12.16
Another delicious breakfast. The quinoa falafel bowl ($19) is full of flavour with avo, tomato chutney, rocket, ribbons of cucumber, cauliflower and labne. I would have tried the morning glory bowl but i don't eat chorizo and while they will leave it out they don't swap it- no changes to the menu at all. Inflexible. But the quinoa bowl while expensive was yummy. My flat white was nice but needed to be hotter.
I went with girlfriends to Blackwood Pantry on a Sunday for brunch so it was understandable to have to wait 20 minutes for a table. It was peak time, a beautiful day and the new place to try in Cronulla. I'm so glad we waited though because the food was absolutely delicious. I had the morning glory bowl and could not even finish it, it was so amazing and filling. The salted caramel milkshake reminded me of my childhood and was incredible. We shared the strawberry ricotta toast and it took me to another world. The other girls raved about the coffee. Will be back to try their lunch, as I'm very impressed.
Everything was very satisfying. Everything came out perfect timing, food was excellent as well as the coffee. Staff were extremely friendly. Would definitely come back 👌 @
I went there with my sister on a Saturday for lunch. It was packed. We asked the waiter if we could get a table for two, he took my name down and in seconds returned to let me know that one table was just now paying the bill. The table was cleared and presto! We were seated.
The music was a notch too loud but the food was superb. I had the pork belly with apricots (which they call "Miss Piggy") and wanted to go back on Sunday to repeat the experience.
I had no problems with the service.
I was having Bayswater Brasserie flashbacks for anyone that can remember that far.
I have a friend returning from overseas soon. i know where we will be going to catch up.
Coffee is 5 stars
Food is 5 stars
Service is 2.5/3
The owner/floor manager is lovely but I've been here 6 times now and they are super unorganised on the floor... I've sat waiting to be served for over 15mins on three occasions. Finally ordered, then been approached by new waitstaff asking if I have ordered :|
They really need to set designated service areas instead of having floor staff running around aimlessly. That said they are pleasant to deal and helpful just a little overwhelmed when it's busy - which is all the time! They had amazing salads from the bar on the menu opening week now they are only for takeaway because 'they made too many mistakes' .. honestly don't know how they got mixed up when they are distinctly different to what's offered on the lunch menu. But not surprised given the service issues.
I really want to give these guys 4.5/5 stars.. Hoping the service picks up and I'll update my review!
New favourite breakfast/brunch spot!
What's there not to love about Blackwood Pantry? The service is fantastic, scandi/coastal interior is beautiful, food comes out real quick and the food is sensational.
Fav is the Fresh Basil Yogurt, Deconstructed French Toast and the Vanilla Poached Salmon 👌🏻
Just make sure you get here real early, it can get packed out.
I really dig this place. I drove 20km for breakfast here on Saturday and got the Buddha Bowl. Nutritious and tasty although mine was missing the lemon and buttermilk dressing. The coffee here is some of the best I have had. In fact it was so good I came back the following day. I had my eye on the French toast which is nothing like French toast but it was so beautiful and light. Hubs got the Morning Glory and his was missing the lime. The service was a little inattentive but perhaps just first week issues that will be worked out. Will definitely be back.
The food were excellent! And the service was equally exceptional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One of us told the staff that we were informally celebrating a birthday and they brought out a mini cake for her and didn't even charge us for it!
It's baby friendly, too.
Fair warning: the portion is quite generous, too.🙂
Delicious breakfast 😋. Tucked away in Surf lane, you can't miss it with the crowds hanging to get a seat and a coffee. We didn't have a reservation and were seated in 20 mins or so. The food was amazing, really clean fresh flavours and served quickly considering how busy it was. The staff were chatty and had time to have a laugh at the table. Very nice 👌🏼, will eat again.
Great ambience. We were served by a very friendly lady with a warm greeting once we sat down. Food & coffee are on points. Worth for our one hour drive! Will come back!
Beautiful truffle chili eggs on sourdough, flavoursome chai tea and fantastic hot cake with coconut flakes... Loved it. I wish they'd be located in a place looking at ocean views, that would be perfect!
Delicious and healthy breakfast! Coffee is great. Super friendly staff definitely give this place a try, you won't be disappointed
Love the vibes of this place. The food here was too good. Absolutely going there again. Had an amazing brunch on Sunday.
Overall a good café, food and drinks presented beautifully! However, can get quite busy which understandably does lead to some longer wait times and service issues.
Food is colourful, flavourful and generous! Staff are friendly and accommodating. One of the wait staff started chatting to us as helped me decide between two dishes I was tossing up between and I was so happy with her recommendation. I'm a regular happy customer.
