Review Henrys Cronulla - Cronulla

Troy Bright
Holy moly Henrys is AMAZING! The service was probably the most friendly and attentive we’ve experienced in a while. Restaurant decor and ambience is lovely. Food was divine!! Shared plates are adequately portioned and serve quickly. The mains are perfect portion sizes and were so beautifully presented! Our 40 minute drive to Henrys was well worth it!

Nikkei cuisine is a fusion of both Japanese and South American cuisine and Henrys absolutely nailed it. We started off with some 'Sydney Rock Oysters' with a ginger mignonette, followed by their 'Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi'. This had a chipotle emulsion, fried shallots and to my surprise, pickled cucumber. The flavours and textures worked and the presentation was just gorgeous. Of course I had to order the 'Wagyu Beef MS7+ Tartare' and wow! It was so unique and I loved that it was served with nori sheets. This was a favourite. We also ordered the 'Seared Canadian Scallops' served on creamy white asparagus then topped with Avruga caviar and prosciutto dust. Trust me, this tasted as good as it looks and sounds, and the scallops were cooked beautifully. Recommended by our waiter, we ordered the 'Crispy Flathead Tacos'. The fish was great, not too oily and the Habanero mayo was the perfect match for it. The only issue with this dish was that we ordered one taco each.. I NEEDED MORE! We continued with another starter, the 'Truffle Polenta Chips'. They looked more like cubes than chips, but they were still delicious. I would have preferred them a lot more crispier on the outside but that's just me. They were perfect as a side dish to the main dish we ordered, the 'Tajima Wagyu Striploin MS7+ with Baby King Mushroom & Japanese Jus'. I didn't hate this meal but it wasn't my favourite. I usually like my steak medium rare and without mushrooms, so this was just a personal preference. It was so hard to choose between the three desserts because they all sounded so lush! Again, we asked out waiter for her suggestion and she went with the 'Deconstructed Goat's Curd Cheesecake' which honestly, was the one I wanted the most. The taste of the goat's curd really came through and since I'm a huge fan of goat's cheese, I didn't mind it at all. Perfect way to finish off our lunch! I've also got to mention that halfway through our lunch, we were surprised with a couple of their signature cocktails. These are dangerously delicious! I highly recommend this place for any occasion! Dates, family get togethers, brunch with the ladies. It's such a chill venue with a great menu and I would definitely return!

The food is at best ok. I don't believe I will die after my meal however my friends that had the fish may not it. I have genuine fear for my toilet bowl.....

Unfortunately I can’t say our recent experience was at all pleasurable. The service was average at best, we were told to quickly order as soon as we sat down as the kitchen wanted to close (8pm). The $100 bottle of wine that was highly recommended that I ordered was almost undrinkable (I’ve had better bottles for $20). The chicken I ordered was nothing like the first time I had tried it. Our second serving of focaccia came out almost uncooked (they did replace it with another one). Our potatoes we ordered also never arrived. All our food was rushed out of the kitchen without any time to properly enjoy the experience. Then to top off an already disappointing meal and experience, we were handed our bill and thanked for dining without even asking for it or being ready to leave (this was at 9:10pm roughly, they close at 10pm) this really put the nail in the coffin. I returned to Henry’s after a fairly pleasurable experience the first and second time. I even tipped our waitress heavily after what was already a $400 bill as I appreciated the service we received from our second time there. After this experience, I won’t ever dine at Henry’s again or further recommend them to friends and family.

We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us their recommendations on their most popular dessert. We ordered all 3 desserts as they all sounded delicious. Henry’s did not disappoint. Loved all 3, but the ‘espresso martini mousse’ was heavenly! If these sweet treats are anything to go by, we can’t wait to come back to try their dinner menu.

Best restaurant, best food & best staff! I am just in love about them. Went there for the Valentine’s Day and it was just PERFECT! Every dish was unique and so tasty.

Great Food, so delicious !! Great Cocktails !! And had a delicious glass of Pinot Noir to accompany our meal. Staff were super friendly and great to deal with. Only thing that didn't make it 5 stars rating was the music was a bit too upbeat for dinner, lighting was very bright and staff had to be prompted for small things, Spoon with dessert, napkins and bill. (more casual cafe vibe) We also were sitting so close to the table next to us we had to physically move our table away from them. As we were kind of on top of each other when seated. The previous time we went during the day for brunch, they ran out of milk and couldn't make us a coffee to take away. This time for dinner they didn't didn't have any cheese, so one of the dishes we wanted was unavailable on the menu. I'd happily go back as all in all was very good.

Booked Henry's for my sister's birthday last Sunday due to seeing great things on Instagram. The food itself was decent and somewhat price appropriate, although not memorable. It was the level of service that led me to leave 2-stars though. One gentleman (curly hair if I recall correctly) was extremely polite and accommodating (but he could just be good in comparison to everyone else). The ladies seemed very snobby and did not seem to want to serve us. Even when we thanked them for bringing out dishes or clearing our plates, there was hardly ever a response; just felt like they wanted us to eat and get out. On top of that, they had the audacity to ask us to leave a tip when we were paying, which cheapened the whole experience.

We went to Henry's last night to celebrate a friend's birthday party. 6/8 decided to have the $65 per head set menu, and 2 of our party opted to order from the à la carte menu. Initially we stuffed them around with the numbers but in the end the staff were quite accommodating. Our waitress grabs our drink orders and when they arrived, wow was my drink delicious. The food started to come out. Looked delicious but the portion sizes are very small for the amount of money we paid. For the oyster lovers out there who order the set menus....don't expect more than one oyster per person...because that's all you get! Anyway the portions keep coming - 2 small portions per 3 people and by this stage we have resigned to the fact that this was all we were getting per course UNTIL the Blue Eyed Cod came out. A plate was put down infront of 3 of us and naturally we start picking at the 4 very tiny pieces of Cod as we have with the previous courses, and have almost devoured it when we realise that the other 3 people have no Cod in front of them. Very confused, I call over the waitress and she advises that we were to share the one plate of Cod (4 small pieces) between 6 people and that she had told us when the plate was set down in front of us. That was a lie. Not 1 of the 8 people on the table were made aware - hence the confusion. Also...I don't know how you can serve 4 pieces to 6 people??? I'm no mathematician but even I know that isn't quite right. I would have up to this point, given you a 4 star review, but then decided a 3 would be sufficient until we saw our waitress bitching to her boss about us. He storms over with attitude trying to justify the portion size and offers 2 fish tacos to settle their inaccuracy. By now your review rating had plummeted to a 1. I am adamant that I will not be spending another dollar at your establishment. Thank you for the night we had, but you have lost 8 of us and once we spread the word....you will have potentially lost more customers.

I'm a food blogger and over the years have built up fairly good understanding and high standards of food and restaurants. It is quite rare that a restaurant blows me away from choice of produce, innovation of menu, knowledge of staff, to consistency of delivery . Henrys has done it all! The beef bresaola and smoked baby chicken are simply divine! I can't speak highly enough of their food, in fact this is one of the top three best meals I've had this year so far!

Can honestly say the best steak I've eaten, salads amazing, oysters the best , seriously first time dining there, will be back very very soon . Staff very helpful and friendly, prices well worth the money as food is amazing. One of the best restaurants I have eaten at.

We went there for lunch and got 3 smells servings and one large and desert and we walked away absolutely stuffed! The food was exceptional and the staff were so friendly and attentive they made the whole experience enjoyable! Nowadays restaurants are trying to rush you out the door but not here they tell you to take your time and we did! The cocktails we great and yes it isn't a cheap place to eat but it definitely was worth the money!! Will be going again to try the other items on the menu..

Atmosphere was great however portion size was tiny and price a bit steep. Interesting menu . Did wait over an hour for our meal not sure I'll be back.

Made an appearance at Henry's on Saturday night. Booked online in a matter of seconds. The staff is welcoming and friendly, the service is excelllent, the food is tasty, the atmosphere is great and I think the pricing is on point. As Arnie would say - "I'll be back".

Food amazing!, Sirloin, with colliflour salad exceptional, attentive and professional staff, great experience for special occasion or just passing through cronulla, the staff were also fun and friendly, thank you for another great evening!!; we felt very spoilt....

Overpriced & over rated. It's Cronulla with a view of the street. Not darling harbour with a view of the opera house. Poor meal sizes. Looks great but can't deliver. I am unsure what all the hype is about here.

Not only was the food brilliant, the waiters were very attentive and professional. All round best meal we have had for ages. We would recommend for a pleasant evening out.

Compelling menu which kept us anticipating the arrival of each dish, only to be slightly let down with the portion size vs price. Most of the dishes were bang on, except for the chicken, which lacked flavour. Loved the cauliflower salad. 3 stars due to the inconsistent poor service we received. Will return in a few months when hopefully the teething issues are fixed. Cheers!

Had a wonderful experience with Henry's last night after being turned away from the restaurant we booked for my parents 50th wedding anniversary because we had children with us. Henry's made space for us after we just wandered in on a Saturday night and saved our evening! The food was wonderful and the service was fantastic. Thank you!
