A good place for nice, quick and simple food/meals. Staff are quite friendly too 👍

Ordered Miso Chicken Katsu Don during lunch break, it wasn't too crowded. Food was delicious with a generous amount of vegetables. Highly recommend!

i found out about this restaurant when i worked in the area, and it became a favourite very quickly that i would go to regularly for lunch. i don't work in the area anymore. although i live in South sydney, i still come here. Chicken Katsu curry with udon noodles, and miso soup mmmmm-mmmmm!!!!! and the staff are very welcoming, friendly and cheerful, and the service is fast. :)

Unassuming but solid meal Friendly staff and nice simple menu Nothing super original or exciting, but execution for casual Japanese food feels authentic

Really rubbery “teriyaki” tofu that was overly chewy with barely any teriyaki sauce on a bed of cold rice with a poached egg that had obviously been made much earlier and stored in fridge because it was really cold to bite into.

This is a little gem in Crows Nest. Food is delicious and very good price and the staff here are so sweet. They're open until 9pm on weekdays - super convenient for picking up dinner on the way home LOVE

Healthy delicious Japanese fast food. My favourite is yakiniku beef udon, no bean sprouts. Add some chilli powder and a dash of soy sauce, mix every around like crazy and it’s heaven in a bowl. Service is quick, restaurant is clean. Takeaway is good too, but the food tastes better piping hot.

Delicious food, super easy to order and the food comes out quick!!!
Lots of options for people who can’t eat dairy, meat or gluten !!
I would recommend this to all my friends!

Best valued Japanese bowl!

Salmon katsu rice bowl - with plenty of salad 😍 a well balanced bowl as you can see they are generous with the salmon, and pretty big in size as a whole.

No fancy decoration, but good quality of food. Best quick eat in Crows Nest!

Went with the Rice Donburi with beef. Yakiniku sauce.
Had a miso soup on the side.
Wow this is great! The stroke of genius is the mayonnaise, that really takes this dish somewhere I haven’t been before.
Friendly staff and super quick service.
Plus.. feedback slips on the table, so clearly this place gives a hoot and wants to continually improve. I’ll be back.
Was in Crows Nest about a month ago and came in with some friends. Tables were not wiped down. We had all sat down for about ten minutes before we realised that we were meant to go to the counter to order our meals. Food came out pretty quickly, despite lunch rush hour. I had the teriyaki chicken rice and miso soup combo. The proportion of rice was very generous. The meat and vegetables were also plentiful, although the proportion of these toppings to rice was a bit off, as I had heaps of rice left over towards the bottom and ran out of toppings. However, because of the big size of the bowl, I was unable to finish the rice anyway. Some of the guys who had other dishes were also unable to finish their meals, that is how generous the portions were. The toppings were flavourful and worked well together. Price was extremely reasonable.

No wonder this place is popular and jam packed during lunch hours: because of its affordable, tasty, and, wide variety of food in the menu. Their rice meals are pretty filling. Whenever I eat here I end up not finishing my bowl, that saying how generous their servings are. Been here quite a few times and my last visit was not more than a few months ago. And Id just like to mention that the portion of the meat (in comparison from the rest) has gotten lesser I should say.. Ive been craving for more pieces of meat/tofu towards my last bites.. Other than that, I think the food is flavourful. Im loving the Japanese mayo on the side. Visited on a late afternoon and its not too busy, the food came out really quick. Good value for money.

Good authentic value for money Japanese food.

Karage chicken is very good. In my opinion the rice bowl is better than Udon.
The large tables are good for groups, and there is an outdoor seating section as well.

What a little gem! Doesn't look like much from outside, but you definitely go here for the food and great value! Most of Crows Nest was pretty quiet, but not this place. A stream of customers getting takeaway and dining in was constant, and you could see the word had spread for a good deal here.

You order at the counter, they give you a number, and bring it out to you. Simple. We ordered a tofu rice donburi with teriyaki sauce, tofu udon with garlic chilli and asked for no mayo for both to make it vegan. Other than that, the bowls come with other veggies to mix in with the rice/udon and sauce.

They were both great! And for under $10 each, if you don't upsize... which I did for the udon. 😮 The portions are decent, and you're not breaking the bank so it is really a good deal all round. I do recommend the udon more than rice, but this could just be because I am a noodle person all the way. It is not your typical soup udon though, but it is just as delicious.

Would definitely go back if I feel like it. Such a good feed!

Grabbed some takeaway on a Saturday night, the food was prepared quickly, and it was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be adding this to my list of local favorites. Grab the karage chicken for entree and thank me later.

Have visited here several times now and love their donburi (rice) bowls. Have tried in the past their chicken karaage and chicken katsu but tonight, we had their yakiniku beef and chilli garlic beef. Both bowls were excellent; generous portions with lots of grilled slivers of beef and tons of fresh and crunchy vegies and a big dollop of kewpie mayo. You mix everything together in the bowl and it's just super tasty and healthy. Love it. If only there were air conditioning or fans in there...can get very stuffy on a hot day like today.

Basic no frills quick service joint serving a variety of japanese salads, udon and rice bowls. Been here only twice and have tried their karaage salad and beef teriyaki. Food is a little bland but served in a big portion. Prices are very reasonable.

This is your go to place if your looking for a casual night out or a simple date. Most of all if you LOVE Japanese Udon Noodles - this will definitely spark up your tastebuds!

Their udon is chewy!!!!!!! (Which is meant to be)

I picked the KatsuMiso Udon (Crumbled Pork Cutlet). The Katsu cooked perfectly and will leave you mouthwatering and wanting for more especially dipped in their kewpie mayo. It's then paired up with FRESH vegetables (sliced button mushrooms, lettuce, few pieces of rocket, tomatoes, bean sprouts, carrots).

My husband picked the KatsuSalmon Udon. The salmon melts in your mouth and along with the crispy breadcrumbs, the experience is a must-try.

Lastly, we got Takoyaki for our sidedish. Tastes the same as any other Japanese restaurant but as you bite into its mushy and tastes better. I guess it's because it's homemade :)

Definitely coming back soon for round 2 and more!

Super casual, super fresh and surprising really tasty! I had the Teriyaki Tofu Donburi and the tofu was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with just the right amount of teriyaki sauce. A really great place to go with a large group of friends as the tables are spacious. Great value for money! The only downside is that I came out smelling like BBQ because the kitchen is open plan and all the smells/smoke waft over to the dining area.

This place feels like it belongs in a food court. Service is fast and the food is average with large portions.
I found the sauce in the udon a little salty.
The takoyaki was nice but like much of the menu, cooked/deep fried from frozen food.

This is up the road from my office and it's my go to lunch on a Friday. I only ever get the salmon teriyaki don buri. And if you think you won't be full from having a loco bowl - don't be fooled. With a layer of rice on the bottom of the bowl it's then topped with Lots of salads (includes bean sprouts, tomato, mushrooms, lettuce and more), my only dislike is that there is not enough salmon for the quantity of salad and rice to offer. You feel satisfied after the meal (feeling full) but also not feeling to heavy.

The staff are quick and prompt however it does get busy during lunch time as it is a favourite!

So swede worked from home today so we could explore the new hood for lunch! Decided to go cheap n cheerful at this cute little japanese rice bowl place. They only serve rice or udon( the dry non soup version) swede found out the hard way. I had a yakiniku beef rice bowl and swede had the tori karage udon bowl. Both came chock full of veggies but my beef was over cooked so was a bit chewy but swede's chicken was good. Overall ok for a fuss free quick and easy meal.

Tokyo Loco Bowl provides simple Japanese meals that are quick to serve at the table or for takeaway. I usually order the katsu salmon curry rice, or the katsu chicken/pork with one of the various sauces. The karaage chicken is ok but it's not legit (the flour is different and not cooked till crunchy/crispy).

There are communal tables available in store but the table tends to be rather... sticky... and the restaurant lacks a working air-con so it can get rather warm in hot weather, especially with the open kitchen.

If you are after some quick Japanese then Tokyo is the one for you.

We were after some ramen but didn't realise that it was more the dry ramen aka no soup!

Alas i got the Miso-katsu with crumbed chicken and my partner got the Yakiniku beef (spicy).

You can have in or takeaway, mostly people had pre-ordered and just picked up.

They have daily specials, When we went it was Teriyaki Salmon.

Overall, good food, reasonable price and wasn't too busy so you can enjoy you dinner in peace.

Love this place! The miso katsu donburi is just amazing. Food is fresh, served very quickly, with nice smiles from the staff. Well priced too! A regular on our restaurant rotation list.

Great little no fuss japanese restuarant, fresh food, decent servings and all at a price that makes life easier after buying a terrace for $2million dollara up the road

Want fresh filling Japanese food, and fast? Then Tokyo Loco Bowl in Crows Nest is the place for you. We visited last night and enjoyed their super friendly, super fast service and super yummy food. The interior is simple and clean with long tables and stools for dining in. You can also phone them to place your takeaway order. Ordering your meal is fuss free – you choose your own drink from the fridge, order and pay for your meal and take a number to your table. I love that they have a variety of Japanese drinks available. Everything on the menu looked delicious, and it was nice how you could mix and match with either rice, udon noodles or salad. You can view the menu here . First we started with some sides – takoyaki and agedashi tofu. The agedashi tofu was awesome! Onto the mains – teriyaki salmon and rice as well as yakiniku tofu and rice. Yummy, filling and healthy. Tokyo Loco Bowl would be a great place to go to on your lunch break. In fact, their Facebook page advertises that t

On point!. The salmon teriyaki has the perfect amount of everything. Great quick, cheap feed - definitely recommend.

Fun! but not a huge feed. Really easy and cheap, but servings aren't too huge. The salmon teriyaki I'd expect thicker salmon pieces or more noodles for $14

Great place for lunch, so much to choose from - Salmon Teriyaki is my favourite so far!
