Amazing burgers! The fries were amazing but my favourite was the popcorn chicken and spicy peri peri dip.

Had a hankering for a burger. Johnny bird answered the need. Ordered the original burger with side of thigh tenders, fries and a beer. Great service from the team, found a spot for me to dine in (out of the rain). Food came quick smart. Due to intense hunger, I downed the burger too soon and got a burnt mouth. Flavours were on point for me. A little messy eating by hand but I don’t mind. Fries were excellent. Fried chicken I didn’t touch as I ordered a bit too much food! They were kind enough to give me some take away boxes to take the leftovers home. Probably a little on the pricey side, however it hit the spot for me. Recommend, will go again!

Really yummy fried chicken burger. The chickens are moist and succulent to the taste. My absolute favourite is the johnny bird burger- a plain fried chicken burger with coleslaw. Absolutely define. Simple so so good. This time around we got the lost in translation burger- a katsu fried chicken burger which so yummy. We also got the dirty bird- which is okay, just a little too sweet from the overload of BBQ sauce. Definitely try Johnny bird, you'll get a good tasting of fried chicken burger 🐔🍔🍟🍖

Update (June 2022): Tried another takeaway orser. Chicken back to a good size this time. Updated to 5*. Ordered the Johnny burger and sweet potato fries tonight. Normally go for the dirty bird. Maybe it was because it was later in the evening but the chicken was bigger in the burgers I've had in the past. Seemed this time around that the pieces were thinner? Anyway still a tasty burger, sweet potato fries are great and staff friendly and efficient. Just bring the size back 👌

Everything we tried was decent. Was surprised that our order of thighs was deboned. I like my fried chicken on the bone, but that’s just a personal preference. Good music, friendly staff

First of all, lovely customer experience by the two guys that were there. Went above and beyond in serving us. They offered us samples of the "motorcycle oil" or "IPA" beer. The food was amazing! The sweet potato fries and mac and cheese were faultless. The mixed chicken and the sticky ricky are great as well. Also, I ordered a slushy and it was a delighful mix of watermelon and lime. We took some home as well. Lovely food, ambience, and wonderful service! We appreciate it so much and definitely recommend this place!

Chicken burger was okay, nothing to write home about. Cheese burger was for my colleague who said it was worst burger ever eaten in their life. Mac n cheese was Luke warm, serving size is pitiful... LITERALLY the size of a Peter’s Dixie Cup. and the audacity to charge $8 for it WOW. I guess this is to be expected from a place that used to charge an arm and a leg and a few organs for a lobster roll. Chips were actually nice.

Wow!! Love the food in here. Amazing burgers and fries, absolutely delicious. Also beers on tap and great styling. The Mac & Cheese is yum! Service is friendly and quick. Would highly recommend. Will be back!

Ordered the Johnny Bird burger. Surprised about the portion size and I liked the spicy-peppery chicken burger batter. It is big but thin. Compared to my go to chicken burger, it’s quite good.

Found Johnny at the Grifter and the prices seemed a lot lower than on the in-store menus that I could find on the internet - which is good because the normal prices seemed crazy while the pop-up prices were reasonable. The fried chicken in the burger was generally good with an interesting flavour like it might have been marinated before battering, something you don’t see often (or it was all just from the bbq sauce) but it was a very thin piece of chicken. I’ll be generous with the rating because it still seems some of the best fried chicken in Sydney but with Thirsty Bird opening a branch in Newtown, I don’t see any need to come back for this.

A lovely casual spot for American style food. Friendly service and the lobster roll (pictured) was pretty darn tasty. I really want to go back for the deep fried chicken burger. #lobsterroll

Real rating: 3.5/5<br/>Generous servings, friendly staff and nice interior. The chicken could’ve been crispier but the sides were great! Definitely would recommend the pickles chips for those who like pickles haha. The sauces weren’t amazing, but still good.

Burger was not bad, well seasoned, the pickles in burger was very nice. Sweet potato chips was too ordinary. Might try other burgers next time.

I like their fried chicken from when the restaurant was called Johnny lobsters. <br/>I ordered some takeaway (Ubereats) on Sunday night, and the food delivered after about 30mins (I was approx. 4K from the restaurant) <br/>The fried wings tasted good enough without dipping sauce. The batter with pepper was so crispy. The fried chicken burger was delicious too - it had bacon inside!

DELICIOUS!!! The burgers are huge and juicy! The fried chicken is tasty and juicy as well! The fries (potato and sweet potato) are yummy. The mac and cheese is creamy! Great service and atmosphere too for a new place!
