My wife and I have been to some of the best sushi restaurants around the world. This place is just as good and offers amazing traditional japanese sushi. The grilled salmon belly and carpaccio are amazing. I drive 15 km to pick up take away since we no longer live in the area. Its worth the trip.

Lovely fusion Japanese food at a reasonable price, what more can we ask for! We really enjoyed our food there and it was truly delicious. The service was quick and efficient. We will definitely return. We tried teriyaki, wagyu rib and it was best! The menu has many variety of authentic japanese food. And the staff was friendly as well. Highly recommended.

The BEST Japanese Food in Crows Nest! The food is always fresh and the service is second to none! If you love Japanese food it would be a crime not to dine at this restaurant! Pricing is also very reasonable!

Great selection of Japanese food, sushi and some Korean mixed in for good measure. Enjoyed their salmon carpaccio and charcoal pork belly. Best thing is, they even grill the salmon sushi on a bbq, not just use a blowtorch. BYO is available too

As a local living in crows nest there is plenty of variety to choose from but Angry Fish is a stand out. Always fresh, fast and delicious Japanese and great customer service!

Food is fabulous... service very friendly. No nonsense no frills dining and reasonably priced. Its only let-down is no atmosphere...but it makes up for it with quality food. 8/10

Food was great! However, next time we might dine in, the food we had was delivered and luke warm.. tempura batter was a little soggy. Otherwise...food was nice.

I've been here a few times for a quick takeaway lunch. I go to a lot of Japanese restaurants and was taken aback with the meanness of the servings at Angry Fish. Some examples.  Sashimi salad with the daintiest (I mean TINY) mouthful of soba noodles - you could fit it on a teaspoon. Two slices of fish. All lettuce with maybe one cherry tomato. Rice paper rolls with cooked Tuna - One roll had NO tuna, just pale lettuce carrot and some avocado. The second roll was filled to the exact halfway mark with tuna. (How expensive is canned tuna?) The rice paper was sticky and old and fell apart. Seaweed Salad to take away - Exactly one mouthful in that wasteful packaging. I think it cost around $5 for that one mouthful. Today I asked for a salmon lovers $12 box and a miso soup. She filled my small polystyrene takeaway cup LESS THAN HALFWAY with miso and was genuinely surprised when I asked for it to be filled to the top. Asked for an extra soy sauce for the large sushi box and she told me I already had two. Like - how expensive is soy sauce?? I'm really not a fussy customer but this is just a cynical rip off of their customers. Not much of a savings if your customers don't return. Today was my last visit.

Friendly service. Great to average food. We had yakitori (great) scallops (excellent) veg temupra ( good ) pork katsu ( on the poor side) endamame (meh) minus 1 point for bringing all the fried food at once despite asking for things separately and minus for the very dry katsu. - $65 for 2 (no booze) would return to try the bentos.

Our dinner at Angry Fish was really underwhelming, given the high score on Zomato. We walked in to an empty restaurant on Friday night so the atmosphere was a bit of a downer. The food was overpriced for what we received. The salmon bento set had a sad piece of fish that was sliced horizontally to make it look like two paper thin slices. They'd run out of prawns for the tempura and subbed it with an extra sweet potato - disappointing. My udon was just noodles, chicken and a miniscule amount of enoki. The broth was also very sweet. The saving grace was the noodles which had a pleasant chew to it. Despite there being only two other tables, our food took a better part of 40 mins to arrive. Not sure how Angry Fish can continue operating with so many Japanese options in the area.

Excellent quality with a good variety of options on the menu. Great Sashimi, tasty Gyoza + teriyaki options...Grilled salmon belly is superb. Dinner box is good value for money , looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes! 😊👍🏻
Love Fooding Around
This was no doubt the highlight of the meal. The salmon is seared just enough so there's still textures and temperatures of cooked and raw fish that simply melt into each other as you chew through. It's coated with a terriyaki-like sauce that also manages to flavour the sushi rice. The thinly sliced red onion adds freshness and crunch and it really all just works too well with each other.
