Wow what an amazing experience. One of the better JBBQ places I’ve visited in Sydney. It’s a small restaurant with only 6 tables so booking is a must. They are fully booked even on weekdays! Customer service is great - enthusiastic and always willing to help. You order using a QR Code. We did the all you can eat buffet but they also offer an a la carte option.

The quality of everything in this restaurant is superior. The wagyu meat is tender, fatty and rich in flavour on its own. My favourite has to be the outside skirt and the rib finger - just so juicy. We ordered almost everything on the menu to try and the sashimi quality was amazing. I also really enjoyed the salmon yukki - it was chopped salmon sashimi with a poached egg. So naturally sweet and refreshing. Honestly cannot fault anything in this restaurant. I secretly loved how you could order more than one ice cream scoop per person because this is usually restricted at most JBBQ places I’ve been to. The sesame ice cream was so soft and authentic. I ate so much this time my stomach hurt after...no regrets though! The only thing I wish was included in the pricing was drinks. This is usually the case in other places I’ve visited. Otherwise, still highly recommend.

I went there last night with my boyfriend for his birthday, spending two hours there for the buffet recommended by a friend of mine, and we were both very happy with the food and service provided! I am a big fan of seafood and Wagyu beef and this place has the combination of both dishes, and it’s all you can eat buffet, a dream has come true! We ordered assorted sashimi, which was really fresh and we particularly like salmon and king fish sashimi. For the barbecue we ordered all sorts of wagyu beef and some seafood, it was absolutely beautiful! The wagyu beef doesn’t have a bloody taste at all, it’s so marbled that it melts in your mouth, it’s the best wagyu beef I have ever had in Sydney. This is an authentic Japanese restaurant, the boss and a few staff we met were all Japanese with good English, the service was superb, attentive and friendly! I am so happy with Nishiki so that I am writing my first ever review on Zomato!

Very impressed by the quality of the food! All you can eat KBBQ for $76.90 per person is available Friday to Sunday. The wagyu outside skirt was a particular standout to me however I would recommend any of the wagyu cuts on offer if you’re looking for bang for your buck. The oysters are also a good choice but keep in mind there is a limit of 2 per person. I also loved the takoyaki, the seared salmon nigiri sushi, wagyu yukke, and chicken karaage. Desserts were decent though it was quite obvious that they were store bought.

I wish I could eat here daily. I love Wagyu beef.
The Nishiki premium Wagyu beef platter is incredible. Match it with a bottle of red and all the side dipping sauces and you have your self the best dinner!
Love this place.

I enjoy dining at this place from time to time. Very nice place with high quality wagyu meats. I believe the time limit is 110 minutes but order must be made within the first 70 minutes.

Although the foods are good and no complaints on the quality but price wise, $74.90 for buffet on weeknights is a bit on a high side for me. Expect to pay more on Friday and weekend.

I find the fire is too slow and didn't cook fast enough and always be mindful of the time limit and wagyu meats always come out last so make sure you order more in your first order (than less) as I feel the quantity is not as much as I would have expected.

Other Yakiniku place, such as, Nikaido and Koh-Ya, although the meats may not be as premium, but they do offer value for money and equally satisfying feeling.

I have to say the buffet at this restaurant is totally worth to try. The Waygu beef is so tender and juicy (don't cook it too long). The sushi and sashimi and salads are very fresh, and delicious. The quality of all the dishes here is top-notch! All the dishes are seasoned very well and this is the best thing I like from this restaurant. We have been to different buffets in different countries, but now this has been our top favorite place. The waitresses are all very friendly and polite. They serve the food reasonably quick as it is the order buffet. Overall, we enjoyed every single dish to the fullest! We will surely come back! If you are looking for a place on your special occasion, it's worth to check this out. P.S: Make sure you try their homemade green tea and sesame ice cream and the premium mango cake!!!!!!! They are the best Japanese deserts you could find in Sydney!

Second timer for the buffet. Very happy with the quality of food & friendly service. Even tho the price is not cheap ($76.90 for 100 mins) but I will still go back for the flavoursome wagyu beef & fresh sashimi. The only dish I didn’t like was the Spicy wagyu beef soup. There was only a teeny weeny beef with lots of onions. Soup tasted the same as the flavour packet found in instant noodles. 😬

The staff is efficient and very friendly. The waitress at our table gave really good recommendation for the beef.

We had the buffet option which is $74.90 per person which is pretty expensive for a meal but if you have a big appetite then you can eat your moneys worth of the expensive wagyu beef and assorted sashimi and seafood. The wagyu cuts were mostly very flavourful and juicy, some more than others but i'm not sure which ones as they werent labelled. The waiter was very nice and friendly although some orders you make don't actually come to you during busy hours so you might have to chase them up on it but otherwise nothing bad to say about the experience :) Asahi beer also goes very well with the meat to help that greasy meaty feel in your stomach

The ambience and atmosphere was also very nice, a bit dim and very pleasant!

Nishiki Wagyu Yakiniku, located in the Lower North Shore, pride themselves as the only Yakiniku restaurant specialising in full blood wagyu beef. The restaurant offers a la carte as well as a buffet menu. Mr Piggy and I went with the buffet menu so that we had more choices. . We got a variety of cuts to try including the wagyu rib finger, wagyu rib meat, wagyu rump, wagyu outside skirt, wagyu flap meat, wagyu oyster blade, and wagyu rib with bone. The different cuts all varied in terms of flavour and texture. Our favoutite cuts were the rib meat that was juicy and tender, and both the rib with bone and rib finger, which had a nice chew to it.

This restaurant sits off the busy street of Pacific Highway. We dined on a Tuesday which was seemingly quiet for 7:00pm but slowly the restaurant became quite full.

We chose the buffet option since there was 11 of us. The first round of ordering had to be the same for both tables then after we could order individually. I didn't really like the first waiter who took our first order. I felt rushed and he came across slightly rude. As we ordered oysters, we wanted to do one serving first, but he said I had to order two servings in my first order... He asked me if I wanted sauce, I asked for half-half, he told me better all with sauce... It's much easier to recommend than ask for a preference... So I went with yuzu on all oysters.

We ordered each of the wagyu options, sashimi, salads, chicken karaage, geoduck, and much more.
All sashimi tasted and looked fresh, the oysters were yummy, the beef tartare was sweet. We made good use of the 60-90? mins that we had.

It would have been nice if they labelled the wagyu when they served it. Some cuts of meat were definitely more pleasant to eat than others but we didn't know which was which.

Overall service is ok, sometimes couldn't see a waiter in sight, the food is pretty good, the price seems expensive but if you can eat your worth in meat and sashimi it's actually quite fair.

My all-time favourite yakiniku place ever!! Service is not that great and price is damn expensive BUT the food is ultimately delicious. I've had both the buffet and a la carte which are both very good but the wagyu beef from the a la carte is mouthwatering heaven in my mouth. Their yukke is also so delicious and they don't use raw egg yolk but instead have this sweet and salty sauce with a few strips of pear on top which is in my opinion even better as sometimes egg yolks can feel a little too heavy.

As yakiniku is my favourite Japanese cuisine, I've eaten it A LOT all over Sydney and I can say Nishiki has the best flavoured and textured wagyu beef out of them all even beating Rengaya even though that place is also very good.
Their ramen however; is not that great so I would not recommend ordering that. I crave Nishiki all the time but I only go for special occasions as the prices would make me broke but that just makes it more special and I can savour each experience even more.

Buffet recommendations? Try the salmon tartare, you won't regret it! Yuzu oysters.
A la carte recommendations? The kingfish carpacchio. The spider roll (they are huge and stuff it with filling, worth the price).
The beef is a MUST-TRY! Go premium/super premium if you want to splurge.

Had a pretty good experience there, staff are very polite and food is really fresh. We had a group of 7 people, so we opted for the buffet option which was about $80 a head for adults and a child is about $40...I forgot the exact amount. The only thing to really comment about is their system for deciding whether the child is a child or not...they need to measure the child and if they are under 130cm, then they are a child, which I'm not entirely convinced is the best way to do it. But other than that, sashimi and oysters which we order were so fresh, and the meat for the BBQ was so tasty and tender. For dessert in the buffet selection, it's what they have for dessert of the day and their ice cream selection of green tea or black sesame, so we got all of them...the dessert of the day was mango mochi, which probably was the least favourite thing for the night.

Wow! First time at jap BBQ and it was great. We decided to go with the buffet. And it was amazing, it's not like any other BBQ buffets where u walk around to get your meat, but you order off a menu. There is a wide selection of items including sushi, sashimi, fried items, desserts, salads as well as the meat. All the items came out fresh so instead of having that feeling of eating buffet food that's been cooked for a while it tastes like its just been cooked and straight out from the kitchen. The meat was good, and there was some nice marbling in the wagyu meat. I had a great time dining here only downside would be the table, make sure you have a booking to sit at a better table, I didn't and was placed on a table where I couldn't face my boyfriend, we had to sit side by side facing the window and we had to share the table with others aswell so was a little awkward there. Besides that everything was great.

Have been here many times since I knew this place 3yrs ago, Nishiki still remains the best yakiniku buffet in my own ranking. The sashimi choices are quite a few, and now they also added the grilled scallop sushi into the buffet menu, which is so good as that's my favourite =P
The wagyu beef maybe not as good as before, but still tasty enough for me. Well, the fresh sashimis and ox tongue can make up for that anyways.

I thought all the food here was super fresh. The seafood, sashimi and meat all tasted fresh. We chose the buffet version and it got quite confusing as we were a large group. But the food eventually came and it was very good. They kept giving us the wrong order not sure if this is a delay tactic to stretch out the orders between the allocated buffet time? But we did leave quite full and quite satisfied nonetheless.

Quality wagyu meats with lots of options. Similar to Suminoya except the restaurant is less smoky as their stove have inbuilt fan which will suck the smoke down instead of going into your face. Great service as they would often come around and change the mesh.

Whilst I like this place overall because of the quality of the food, I would recommend others to be wary of the service. Expect it to be unsatisfactory in some way. They got our orders wrong twice in a row and a waitress spilt my glass of sake and the apology took a while to come and there was no offer to add more sake to make up for that. For what we're paying I would expect a higher calibre of service than this.

Nishiki Wagyu Yakiniku supposedly the only yakiniku restaurant that serves full blood wagyu in Australia. Either buffet or a la carte option. I chose the a la carte option. -- The Food -- Wagyu Scotch Fillet Wow look at the marbling! First time I've seen this in Australia. Grill the steak to your liking! The steak was extremely tender and full of flavour. There are dipping sauces on the side which enhances the natural flavours of the steak. Without the dipping sauce the steak is still awesome!  Tsubozuke (Tsubo short ribs) -- short rib marinated in earthenware pot marinated in special sauce The marbling is minimum 7 . The meat is still very tasty and tender but I prefer the scotch fillet more. Perhaps over- marinated? Also, grill to your liking! Duck Breast Very tender and tasting after grilling. Took quite some time to grill compared to the steak and short rib I would probably stick to the steaks/ short ribs next time... afterall this is a wagyu restaurant! Needed some mixed mushrooms

Dinner. 1. food - Premium wagyu beef is the best. Oysters, tofu and caesar salads were good. Didn't try the sashimi.
2. customer service - friendly, but takes a long time to be served
3. environment - good ventilation, hair and clothes didn't smell gross after dinner. background music would be nice.

This used to be our absolute favourite japanese BBQ place but lately we've been noticing a dramatic drop in the quality of the meat as well as the service. It's a shame since we used to take all our friends there when we wanted quality food and somewhere lovely to sit and chat.

It was beautiful. Me and my friend came here to celebrate a special occasion and I'm glad we chose this place in Crows Nest. I don't know why people complained about the service in the comments below. It was wonderful and so much better than many other asian places I've been to. The waiters and waitresses were extremely friendly, cooperative and enthusiastic in helping us order and clear our table. We went at 6pm so it was pretty quiet. We got everything we wanted and it was efficient and fast.
We went for the Buffet C menu which is everything for $60pp, I found it a bit pricey but still a wonderful experience. My only problem was oysters were limited to 2 per person but it was clearly stated on the menu and all the instructions were avaliable.
Note: the Green tea and Black sesame icecream are made in house and was perfect.

To dispute all these other reviews, we were the only white people in the restaurant and they served us efficiently and with everything we asked for. The food was delicious and reasonably priced ($30 a head). As long as you are willing to accept that different cultures have different styles of service it is a fantastic experience and the food is exquisite! Going back again and taking anyone who likes amazing food!

Lovely ambiance and tender, scrumptious food.. I often come here with my family and everytime we are met with a pretty big bill but the loveliest service and comfortable couch booths.

Menu Items to die for: Tofu Salad, Premium wagyu meats (it's worth the extra cost), deep friend oysters, raw wagyu box sushi

Wagyu liver yum. Wagyu is pretty overexposed in Australia and often not all that good. But the meat at Nishiki is tender and delicious: I especially recommend the liver and tongue.

Friendly Japanese service; nice decor; not too loud; good sake list. Wide variety of dishes on yakiniku menus from $36 to $60 per person.
