Review Dhakshin - Crows Nest

Went for a dinner on long holiday weekend. Really huge place with lots of tables. Beautiful ambience and very neat service. We ordered dosa, Kerala parata, rotis accompanied with some gravies & veg biriyani. Everything tasted mild & good. But not advisable for sharing India families. The quantity for the price is questionable.

SO YUM! Have to try the masala dosa - crispy and slightly chewy pancakes stuffed with the most delicious soft clouds of spiced potato! Malai kofta was also on point. The wait staff were super attentive but not intrusive, really liked that they offered to cut the mango kulfi to make it easier to share!

My friends and I just visited this restaurant for some south indian brunch. It was honestly, the best south indian food I've had since I moved to Australia. The samosas, vadas and dosas were delicious. Felt like I was back in India at a local restaurant. Their desserts were great too!

Worst Food ,overpriced and very disrespectful service from the staff at this so called south Indian restaurant. You need to train your staff to learn how to interact with the the guest and learn some customer service. I was very disappointed about the behaviour of your staff, to tell the customer with children to wait outside, will inform you if we have a table. I was invited so I kept quiet but I thought I should share my experience. I will not be back and will let others know about this experience. You should be ashamed of such a poor customer service.

IF MALABAR IS THE LAST INDIAN RESTAURANT LEFT IN THE ENTIRE NSW, I WOULD STILL NEVER DINE IN THERE. (READ IT AS 0 STARS) I am an active contributor to Google Local Guide where my submitted photos have over 300 thousand views. I like exploring restaurants and have visited Malabar too in the past. Yesterday we had a few friends accompanying us and we thought of having South Indian Cuisine for dinner. We drove from Watson's Bay to Crows Nest (Over 20KM) as I recommended them to try Malabar for South Indian cuisine. I went there checking for a table, and to our shock, the response was preposterous. All we asked was "Can we have a table for 5" and the response we faced, we have never experienced by anyone anywhere ever. The manager was so rude that I can't express it in words. On enquiring further on why is he responding so rudely, he pointed a finger at one of our friends and said "Because she was looking desperate for a table". I should sue him for this behavior. He literally behaved as if we were some people with no money who came begging for food. We understand, that sometimes the restaurant is busy and you might not find a spot. It was a miss from our side as well as we should have reserved a table before visiting. Everything is understood but the way you treat your customers shows your class. I am happy I did make any booking as I do not want to contribute to a place who are in the HOSPITALITY business but lacks basic etiquette on how to treat your guests. Can't believe we drove 20+ KM with a 4-year-old Kid for this. An experience we will never forget. I assure you none of my friends or acquaintances would ever dine in Malabar Crows Nest.

Always a delight to eat here. Dosai was by far the best and service was great. The butter chicken curry could have been better but otherwise another great experience

I Visited the restaurant around 7 Pm yesterday looking for good south Indian food. In return, I got evil behaviour from one of the staff wearing glasses and asking for a reservation. I was with my brother, sister, partner, and a 4-year-old nephew. The staff member told the female friend that you are looking very desperate and was talking some nonsense. I will never visit this restaurant and will make sure non of my friends and office colleagues see the same.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Have eaten here multiple times and the food is always excellent. The service was great and the team couldn’t have done more. I’d highly recommend the butter chicken and the Palau paneer. However an absolute must is the Keema dosai !! Soooo delicious!
