Review Mario's Pizzeria Croydon - Croydon

I remember coming here with the family a couple years back, and personally it was an amazing experience. We ordered a bunch of pastas and pizzas and it was delicious ! Service was fast despite the busy weekend night. Fast-forward to a couple weeks ago, my partner and I ordered a pizza and a chicken schnitzel. We waited a long time for the food to arrive. Keep in mind the place wasn't packed, it was pretty loud, but it wasn't busy. Food finally came, and to be honest it wasn't worth the wait. Delicious schnitzel - very small portion though. Added vegetables on the side, very mediocre, something I could make in 10-15 mins. However, staff was friendly and if it wasn't for the slow service, it would've made the dinner experience better.

One of the BEST italian restaurants that I've visit. Everything is just perfect. Friendly staff & great food. Their gelato has this unique taste. Cannot wrong Mario's

Went Mario’s pizza for the first time tonight. Atmosphere was nice and service was attentive. The food come out quickly. Pasta was delicious and the pizza was good. Unfortunately the pizza size was extremely small and bases were burnt. Brought it to the attention of the owner, when asked how our meal was. He didn’t seem very receptive and said “that’s how it’s done here”. The bitter taste of the burnt base overpowered the flavour of the toppings. The Calzone was nice but very soggy. Overall good experience but portion sizes could have been better for the money spent.

Reasonably priced! Ordered delivery and it came within the hour (which is great), food quantity was awesome and the best part is they put fried food into foil baskets with paper bag lid so it doesn’t go soggy! So happy they did this (so many restaurants don’t) - will definitely order again and again !!!

Been coming here for years. Great Pizza and pasta. The service is always friendly too. Even though there’s another 2 pizza places within a block, Mario’s is the best one.

My family have been coming here for at least 20 years years and it’s a must-visit if you’re in Croydon. Mario himself has always made us feel so welcome every time we dine in or take away, and their food never misses - the bruschetta and garlic bread pizzas are a necessity for entree, plus Mexicana, garlic prawn, chicken with avocado pizzas are outstanding and a hit in our family. Over the years we’ve tried all their pasta and chicken with veg dishes and loved them all. Mario’s is absolute quality and a staple restaurant in the community

Good food at reasonable prices. Pizzas are nice and pasta dishes huge. Two young waiters did a great job. Recommended 😁

Nice and cozy Italian restaurant. When you walk in you see people making pizza and pizza ovens which is really nice. The smell of freshly made food makes your mouth water. The staff was very attending, offered drinks first and was always monitoring the room in case somebody needed anything. We ordered supreme pizza, seafood pasta, chicken breast with mushroom sauce and prawn and crab pasta. It wasn't the best pizza I have ever had but everything was tasty. Plus you get the typical Italian atmosphere of sharing food, wine and football on tv. One weird thing: they do not accept any credit card but have ATM on the premises.
