Review Littorio's - Croydon

The best breakfast place I have been to. I’ve been to a few and this is the one I will always compare others to and always come back to, been here more times than I can count and gotten the pancakes every time. The price is definitely more than reasonable for what you’re getting, most of the time I can’t even get through my whole meal and I’m struggling to fit everything no matter how much I really want to. Absolutely amazing.

Got scrambled eggs on toast, with avo and a home made hashbrown. The hashbrown was very weird, had a strange after taste and wasn't very enjoyable. However the avocado and eggs and toast were great. Very filling and a good portion size for the price. Burger was a generous amount. Plenty of chips, which were tasty. Veggie burger was good, tasted meaty, and the fillings were great. Very full afterwards, good value for money. Coffee was fine, nothing special. Sat outside, tables and chairs felt cheap - the table was wobbly. We asked for table water and they didn't bring out a bottle, just two glasses of water, which would have been fine but the waiter didn't come by often, so we were a bit thirsty. The waiter also wasn't very friendly. Which is a real shame as this could have been a 4 star review if the waiter seemed like he actually wanted to be there that day. I walked inside to pay, and our waiter was making coffees. He called to the other man working, but in a mouse voice. I could barely hear him? The other man eventually noticed me as greeted me with a smile, and was friendly and polite. I assume the manager? So that was nice. I probably wouldn't come back here, but worth a try if you're in the area.

Littorio’s great for breakfast and lunch. This time the deep fried beer battered flat head tails with chips, salad and tartare sauce Yummy! Also the Falafel and salad is a winner. Super friendly staff.

I only come here occasionally, with a friend who is a regular customer, as I live a long distance from here. The owner is always extremely welcoming & goes out of his way to make my meal or just coffee exceptional. I could not say enough good things about a wonderfully genuinely friendly person. Staff has also been great, but I should say as you would be at Littorio’s to eat… I have had great meals, and really good coffee. Cheers from a very happy customer 👍😎

My absolute favourite place for breakfast!!! Staff are so friendly and accommodating, menu has lots of delicious choices, servings are generous and it's very reasonably priced. Lots of bang for your buck! And they are dog friendly!!
Matthew Trompf
I went there with my Denise for Lunch and I had a Steak Sandwich with chips. Denise had the Steak Sandwich with chips as well. We both had a glass of water to drink. It was extremely nice of the boss to give me $6 off mine since I only had just bread and Steak nothing else.
Amendra Kodituwakku
We tried the feast for 2, was super. Service was great.

Given menu, ordered a meal & coffees. Got coffees,, waited 35 mins before asking where meal was. They had the audacity to say we're not doing meals today. Yet people all around us were eating, and still ordering. Unbelievable. NEVER EVER GOING BACK.

Love this place, it is great value for money and the coffee is also great! <br/>I have been coming here for years now, love the guys - they are super friendly! Keep up the good work Michael!
Lynn
The place is spacious with friendly staff and generous portion of food. Great hang out place for family and friends.

We ordered the Veggie Breakfast and Beef Burger. Both are delicious and the portions are generous. The staff are friendly and service is really good. Will definitely visit again!
Kathy
Big breakfast lived up to its name! Everything was delicious on both the normal big breakfast and veggies breakfast. We struggled to finish our meals. Only letdown was to be told only cash accepted because we used our Zomato Gold membership. That slightly marred our experience but will probably be back.
BevLovesFood
Found this cafe through zomato gold 1+1... Very spacious cafe, staffs are friendly and attentive. Most importantly, food was yummy & the portion was huge!
Megan Dharmaratne
Staff were very attentive, even though it was busy. Food was great - the basics done right! We ordered the big breakfast and salmon avocado, with chorizo and potato rosti on the side. Portions were extremely generous. We left very full, with a doggy bag of leftovers. <br/><br/>Looking forward to coming back to take on the breakfast platter for 2.

Littorio's is definitely my favorite brekkie spot in Croydon (and trust me there are a plethora of cafe's). Coffee is always on point and I absolutely love the salmon and egg dish. The staff are very polite and never any dramas with editing my order. Well priced, good quantities too.

Ordered the Big Breakfast and Salmon Focaccia. Big portion, good taste, chips was crunchy. Loved it! Will definitely come back to try other foods! Highly recommended!
Christopher Lee
No BS, wanky, deconstructed food or drinks so they can just charge you for doing their job....It was just straight up good food and they are very generous in terms of quantity.
Rachel
This was our second visit with zamato gold, food was yummy, quick & big serving! Coffee was nice too! Friendly staffs, nice ambience! Highly recommended!

Coffee is fantastic. Really great service and the food is amazing. Highly recommend the lamb salad.

Visited this cafe today and want disappointed at all. We tried big breakfast and the avocado salmon as we were using our Zomato gold membership... everything was good .. portion was big enough that u tow People can share the big breakfast. Salmon avocado was good too . Staffs were friendly.

Our first time here and with zomato gold. Very big portion. We order salmon benedict, big breakfast, calamari and steak sandwich. Cant even finish all. Really satisfied and no issue at all with the zomato. Would be our regular next time.
Eating With Ebony
Been wanting to come here for ages as they have the biggest shared big breakfast I’ve ever seen! Everyone who worked there was helpful & seemed happy which is what you want to see. The food came out relatively fast as well considering it was a Sunday & it seemed like a lot of people were ordering it. <br/><br/>My favourite was the bacon & the potato rosti. They were delicious & there was plenty of bacon to go around as well. I really like how generous they are with the portion sizes. Plus with the hollandaise sauce, avocado & feta. Usually this will go in seconds & majority of places give you the tiniest portions. Littorios definitely doesn’t disappoint! <br/><br/>My least favourite was the Bircher muesli. But I just don’t like that in general so nothing actually bad about the meal. Just personal preference on food!<br/><br/>Overall I loved the place! Food was great, juice was good! Forgot to mention when you get the shared platter you can either get apple or orange juice with it. How great is that! Plus for only $45 & you are left feeling satisfied & full. You can’t go wrong.
Amy
Beautiful service and great ambience. The portions were huge!! Had the big brekky and beef burger and both were delicious

<br/>Thanks to #ZG,I now realised what a cafe there is in my local. This has been operating at the start of Main Street Croydon for 5 years according to friendly owner Michael. There was a bustling crowd at lunch Saturday and we were seated promptly(thx to Zomato reservations) and the yummo huge servings of   the food we ordered amazed us. My vegge brekkie had a generous side of feta cheese and I especially loved the corn filled fritter. The chicken risotto was full of chunky chicken pieces, heaped with cheese and more cheese. We loved our strong latte and even more the matcha latte.Definitely a winner here with great food and service. Photos may not do justice, you just gotta go try it yourself.Oh, they are also very reasonably priced!
Monique
Love this place! Want to come here all the time! big portions of lovely simple food. The man that owns the cafe is always accommodating and helpful! Great cafe!

Came here for my mother in laws birthday for breakfast on Fathers day and wasn't great. Firstly they put us near the door so everytime someone came in, the cold would hit you in the face, the waitress came and we ordered our food. We ordered x2 eggs Benny with bacon and a big breakfast. Firstly they brought out the big breakfast and then eggs Benedict with spinach which we didn't order, then they brought the right eggs Benedict but only 1 and I asked for mine and they said "Oh sorry, she must have not put x2" which she didn't even read out the order. We ordered the toast lightly toasted and it came out hard as a rock, the baked beans were mushy. They can't work under pressure. Someone recommended me to go here and to be honest I won't be back.

My first visit to Littorio's as I was keen to try out my ZG membership in Croydon where I play golf nearby. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. No qualms using the ZG membership at all. The chicken risotto was absolutely fabulous!

Best Place in Croydon Main Street ! Staff are amazing and the food is die for ! Start your day off right by coming here ! Would highly recommend

Today my wife and I went to Littorio’s for late brunch. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff. We ordered the Steak Sandwich with sides of chips and the Big breakfast. For a big breakfast, this is by far the biggest big breakfast I’ve seen, I reckon it could be shared by two people. Their portions are massive. With my steak sandwich, it was loaded with a mountain of chips; perfectly cooked and the steak was cooked medium rare. The big breakfast had at least 5-6 rashers of bacon and a big pile of spinach. By the end of everything, I could only eat half of the chips as the steak sandwich was so filling. We also ordered a coffee and hot chocolate. Reason for 4 stars is that the portion is too big and should be smaller to reduce wastage. As my wife is a petite person; there was a lot left, there was the eggs with the bread, half the sausage, the hash brown and beans. Coffee could be abit stronger as I couldn’t taste much of it. But overall, we would definitely come back and to be sure to order one dish between 2.
Mikki
Very great service and friendly staff and comfortable environment, not too far from Croydon station. Had salmon wrap with sautéed spinach with homemade potato rosti. Love the potato rosti
Liz Armstrong
Customer service and coffee were excellent but our food was not as good as we expected it to be. The mushrooms were quite soggy, the bacon was burnt and the sourdough tasted like plain white bread. We were a bit disappointed. Would come back for coffee and the great service next time, but not the food.
Matt Black
Great local cafe, really good honest food and service, very friendly. Plenty of people there on a hot summer Sunday afternoon. <br/>Lots of gluten free options ... Recommended!

First time dining at this café as I’m from the other side of town, but I’m glad I did. <br/>Service was quick and staff were polite and then after ordering my food came out very quickly even though the restaurant seemed very busy. <br/>Food was very tasty and I especially loved the tomato relish. <br/>Keep up the good work and I will definitely return if I’m back on this side of town.

Great Food and good service! <br/>Is always busy on the weekends so booking ahead is a good idea! <br/>Shared breaky board is great! Would recommend getting between 3 if going with girls and just getting extra eggs as there is SO much food!!
The Critical Barista
Was it the barista? Or was it the rainy Melbourne morning? Either way, Littorios makes an amazing mug of soy latte! <br/><br/>I ordered poached eggs with bacon and hollandaise; and I have to say, never have I received such a generous mound of bacon in my life. There must have been at least six rashers. The hollandaise was yummy, but there was way too much. Hollandaise is delicious but one of those sauces that you can 100% have too much of. <br/><br/>Four stars for great coffee and bacon mountain; loss of one star for too much hollandaise! Thanks for delivering on my cheat day Littorios 💕💕<br/><br/>

I chose the 'Free Range Eggs scrambled on toasted sourdough ($10.00)'. I also ordered a side of sauteed spinach ($3.00). It was a very generous portion of both the spinach and the eggs. The sourdough was nicely toasted so that it was still chewable.

Had the Flathead tails for lunch today and it was amazing.  The fish fillets (4 pcs) were quite fresh and cooked to perfection.  I was also happy with the salad which consisted of mixed leaves, chopped tomatoes, cucumber and chopped red onions.  It tasted so fresh and crisp and the tomatoes were quite sweet.  The amount of dressing was also perfect. And OMG the chiiippppppsss, the chips were top-notch!!! They were beautifully cooked to perfection and well seasoned.  The price is also quite reasonable for what you are getting! ;-) The restaurant itself has a good ambiance and found it quiet clean. The staff and owner are very friendly and attentive.  Thanks Littorio for the wonderful experience and keep up the good work and high standard!  I will definitely return to try your other dishes. ;-)

Always enjoy a great meal and plenty of it! You’ll never leave there hungry! Excellent coffee, friendly staff and the owners (Michael and Amy) are efficient and extremely friendly.

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. <br/>When we walked in we were asked to come back in 15 minutes as it was busy. No problem there, we were granted a table upon returning but were then refused when we had to ask to order after waiting 20 minutes. As another 15 minutes passed When we had to ask for a SECOND time and were refused again, we were spoken to appallingly by the manager who was not apologetic whatsoever and clearly lacked any concept of good customer service.<br/>Our "breakfast/brunch" became a late lunch and for the entire poor experience we received not an ounce of remorse or apology. <br/>The most positive event of this experience was witnessing 3 tables walk out. <br/>The waiting staff were nice but I would suggest they find less of a poor excuse of a cafe to work for. <br/>Will not be coming back ever again.
Sasha
Friendly staff. Food was delicious and prepared promptly. The portion sizes we large. I found that the price was reasonable for what you get. Coffee was really good but took very long to get.
Lea
Love the shared breakfast platter! It’s huge! Highlights were the homemade hash browns and the bacon which was cooked to perfection and had a lovely smokey flavour to it. We actually couldn’t quite fit it all in! Coffee was hot and strong. Service friendly and efficient.

If you like Big serves, this is the go-to cafe. The Big Breakfast was awesomely huge ... my friend could not finish it this time (she has been twice before). The Eggs Benedict came with a generous serve of crispy bacon ... a bit too much for me due to bacon being salty. This was served on toasted sourdough bread...perfectly done. The other two friends could not finish their corn fritters even though they loved them. Each corn fritter was a generous portion with lots of corn and there were 2 corn fritters on each plate. We sat on a table for 4 and found it a bit small once we had our meals and our teas/coffees on the table. Next visit we will make sure we sit on the larger group table. Staff were friendly. Meals were served up promptly.

Love this place!!<br/>From the moment you walk in your greeted with a smile.<br/>The breakfast is delicious and also a generous portion is provided.<br/>The coffee is always spot on and have never had a bad experience.

Omg this is a real gem in Croydon 😃 beautiful coffee ☕️ the meals are quite large and tasty I’ve had the corn fritters twice and shared with my father and we still can’t eat it all. Reasonably priced. I will try something else on the menu next time.
Bigfatfoodie
staff are decent and make small friendly chatter even though uve never been there...gave me a free muffin which no it wasnt amazing but it wasnt so bad....looked after us well and yup the coffees were ok too!<br/>wosh it was easier to park around there and I'd be back
4theloveoffood
was dying for a coffee and a bite to eat on the run the other day so stopped past here. The apple crumble tart and carrot cake were beaut however the muffin was a little dry and tasteless. Coffee wasn't too bad either.

Went there on a weekday. I’m sure without me reviewing this place it is already a very well known cafe in the local hood. <br/><br/>This place has a lot of room. Staffs are all very friendly and professional. And food is always amazing! <br/><br/>I have to praise the cous cous that they make. Very healthy, you can’t find excessive oil at the bottom of the bowl. <br/><br/>I’m enjoying this place and will definitely come back.

I've been wanting to try the shared brekkie for two for a long time and finally got my wish fulfilled on Australia Day! <br/><br/>Impeccable service from the waitresses right from the moment we sat down. Even offered to bring a dog drinking bowl for my two corgis! <br/><br/>Coffee was great but the highlight was the brekkie. Very generous portion- started with Birchers muesli and we were already wowed! Poached and fried eggs done to perfection, hollandaise sauce is one of the best we've tasted- it has the right consistency, creaminess and tartness. Sausage was not too salty and don't get me started on the bacon- it has a subtle smoky flavour that you don't normally get at other cafes. Rosti was delicious with a herbed crust on the outside. What a platter! <br/><br/>We couldn't finish the platter and we were contemplating if we should ask for a container, when one waitress offered to give us one even without us asking! Such attention to detail! <br/><br/>We'd be back again to try other items but please, dong change anything. <br/><br/>A must-try in Croydon!

If you're looking for a cafe that gives you quality just as much as quantity, Littorio's is the way to go. Huge portions at very reasonable prices and always fantastic quality ingredients. Eggs are always perfectly poached and their additions are served generously. <br/>Can't recommend this cafe more for a big feed.<br/>The only thing I can fault is their sourdough isn’t the best. However this is only a slight downfall and it’s definitely not going to stop me returning!

Personally love this place, food is always delicious and options are great! Staff are so friendly and welcoming! Brought my dog along to breakfast, they offered him water and sat us outside where we could tie him up with us! Had the shared big breakfast which you can never go wrong with, has a bit of everything and it always a good amount of food. I bought my dog a side of chorizo sausage to spoil him and they cut it up just for him! This is always my go to breakfast spot!
Cookie Monster
Had breakfast here 3 times already and it never disappoint us. The food was great and HUGE servings (well, huge for me). The service is quick. It could get really busy during weekends.

That's Right Up Main Street :)<br/><br/>Award yourself 20 points if you got the film reference, it's obscure also Littorio's is 'Right Up Main Street' in Croydon.<br/><br/>Stopped in at Littorio's cafe for a piece of carrot cake and a chai latte just after lunch. Staff were very nice, the place was nice and comfy and got to read the paper while I waited for the food (something I don't normally do as I'm allergic to bad news). Carrot cake was both tasty, on the healthy side and filling. Cream on top and garnished with other bits of fruit. Chai latte was a good size and also tasted great. Definitely a good option in Croydon. :)

We decided to have breakfast here based on the high rating, but to be honest i think this is a case of quantity over quality and a loyal following that values that sort of thing.<br/><br/>We were seated fast and coffees were brought promptly and were awesome, but the waitresses were hard to flag down to then order food. <br/><br/>The breakfasts we got were HUGE servings with half the plate taken up by rocket, but the corn fritters were under seasoned and were sitting atop a corn puree that overpowered everything and the bacon tasted like it was cooked on a hotplate/pan that needed to be cleaned. <br/><br/>Overall, the serving size was good value for money, but there are more exceptional breakfast spots in the area that won't have you wasting half your plate.
Shayne.
So if it's breakfast you want then this is one of the best in Croydon. Can be incredibly busy on weekends but that's due to its popularity. The share breakfast is enormous and more than enough for 2 people. Good Hearty food and reasonable service. Will be back 👌

Afternoon tea here yesterday, lovely staff ,table clean, calm atmosphere .Quick service ,Mocha and the cake was very yummy ฅ'ω'ฅ, good value, we will return.

Very highly regarded cafe for my partner and I.<br/><br/>When we first bought in the area and tried out a few different cafe options, we became big fans of the place.<br/>For a while there we were having brunch here every Saturday morning. <br/><br/>I used to judge a cafe on how good their poached eggs and hollandaise are (Littorio's passed with flying colours), but after trying the scrambled eggs here I judge a cafe on their scrambled eggs.<br/><br/>I don't know why the scrambled eggs tastes so damn good here, but it does. Those pans must be well seasoned. <br/><br/>After trying a few different vegetarian breakfast options, I now get the dukkah spiced eggs every single time. Having half the plate filled with a lightly dressed rocket salad balances it out nicely. <br/>Real sourdough with real butter is an absolute delight. <br/><br/>My partner alternates between the breakfast bruschetta, the big breakfast, and flathead tails if we go after 12pm. He is an absolute sucker for the flathead tails with chips, aioli and side salad. <br/><br/>Coffee is always good.<br/>They don't list it on the drinks menu but they'll do a piccolo on request. Took me 2 years of eating here before I figured that out though. I've had their short black, long black and latte as well. All are pretty damn good, but their piccolo is now the new fave. <br/>I wish it had been printed on the menu so I could have been enjoying it from the start. But better late than never. <br/><br/>The place is always packed so we usually book a table, but they've always been able to find us a table inside when we've turned up on a whim. <br/><br/>Service is pretty decent even when the place is packed. Food isn't instantly slapped on the table and I'm glad for it. Shows that the food is all fresh and made to order. <br/><br/>Breakfast for 2 including drinks is always less than $50 so this fits into our budget perfectly.

Great place for local brunch! We're big fan of the shared breakfast platter for two - very generous serving but also quality food. Comes with choice of a coffee or fresh juice for two. Lovely owners who are always friendly!
Steph_Eats
I ordered the chorizo & beans on sourdough toast. The serving was generous, eggs cooked to perfection and the sourdough toast nice and crunchy. Also had of the best almond milk lattes I've ever had! To top it off the service was amazing, the staff were welcoming and attentive. Would definitely revisit when I'm in the area in future.
Blossom
Breakfast at this cafe is ok if you want an abundance of food that is sub standard. <br/>It was mentioned in a previous review that the food was too salty. Looks like management didn't get to address this issue. I experienced that this morning with the veggie breakfast. I could barely eat 1/4 of my food. There was a massive amount of mushrooms, soggy corn fritter with scrambled eggs on the top. Quite cheap feta that was inedible. Coffee was ok. <br/>There are far superior cafes on Main St that serve human sizes and good quality food.<br/>No one wants to eat 1 kg of mushrooms! <br/>Won't go back.
Heather
Great service, coffee and food. Huge potions. I hd the eggs benedict and couldn't finish it. Will definitely return. Staff service was quick and attentive.
The Breakfast Bandit
A cafe that has been around for a while in Croydon. Their breakfast is nice, solid fare without to many risks. The potato hash is a highlight and the poached eggs were all poached perfectly on our dishes. <br/>The service is ok, without being great. They could definitely be friendlier and more helpful. Fresh juices is also a plus. <br/>

We go to Littorio's for brunch nearly every second weekend. <br/>Cannot fault the food in any way whatsoever. <br/>Their coffee is superb and any meal we've tried from their menu has always been presented well and always tastes sensational. <br/>The staff are always very welcoming and attentive. I'd highly recommend this cafe.<br/>"Littorios" the other cafes in the area have a lot to live up to. You've really got it right.<br/>Thankyou for not changing, as so many others do after a while.<br/>You're number 1 in my books. It's always a pleasure to dine at your cafe.
Kimberley
Service is excellent, friendly attentive staff, had the flathead tails & salad, fish was fresh with crispy batter, delicious! Salad was well dressed and good proportions of all elements but not really a fan of the mixed leaf lettuce craze. Dying to come back for the shared breakfast, looks AMAZING!

I always get the shared breakfast platter. My friend and I tried a fortnight ago but had no luck. Definitely need my boyfriend's help, or someone else who can eat a lot! Great quality food and not boring fare. Very reasonable price for the size of the meal, although I can't speak for other menu items. We always sit outside and the atmosphere is pleasant. Last time I took our dogs with us and it was very nice.
Bonastar1977
Originally my rating was a 5 and a review to match it. Unfortunately I have to change it to a 1. This cafe offers great food and coffee in a simple yet pleasant decor, hence the original rating and review. I stopped frequenting this cafe months ago and last Saturday the owner saw me at the news agency and demanded I speak with him. Demanded is actually an understatement as he grabbed me by the arm and literally screamed at me for minutes! An absolutely absurd situation and he is lucky I have not pressed charges.
Michelle
Really good experience here. Good coffee (don't bother with the large size it was a bit milky), huge serving sizes which makes the prices ok, well staffed so prompt service. The food wasn't changing the game but it had a really solid selection, some good specials and was all cooked and presented well. Well worth your time if you're in the area.

Nice cafe on Main Street in Croydon. The staff were very friendly, and there was good service with water being brought to the table and refilled regularly.<br/><br/>I had the chorizo beans with poached eggs on sourdough (?) toast. I enjoyed it. The toast was nice, but quite difficult to cut through the crust with a knife. I got full and wasn't able to eat it all, and they were happy to give me a container to take the leftovers home in. My friend requested an extra hot cappuccino and she was happy that it was hot enough for her when it came.<br/><br/>I have been here before and enjoyed my meal, and would be happy to come again.
William Costin
Very frequent customer of this cafe. The staff and owner that run this place are extremely friendly, I love coming here because not only is the food excellent but they give good sized portions, especially for the price.<br/><br/>I regularly take friends and family here. Great operation they have there.

Hard to beat Littorio's in the Eastern suburbs! Amongst a myriad of cafe's on Croydon Main St, the competition is fierce, yet despite this, Littorio's is almost always full of happy customers and at peak times can be difficult to find a seat. The customer service is fantastic and for locals and repeat customers gets more personal as you get to know the staff. Having tried almost everything on the menu, my favourites are still the classic breakfast dishes, I've never had a poached egg that wasn't perfect at Littorio's, their consistency has been fantastic. Don't overlook their lunch items, the Beef Burger and Risotto are fantastic choices, and the pancakes are fluffy and packed with toppings. If you're a fan of frappe's, the "Iced Latte" available from Littorio's is without doubt the best you can get in the area, and the best I can find anywhere, period.
Sarah Walton
The best cafe, great food, the best eggs!!<br/>Staff are very friendly with good service but can at times be too persistent, always very busy on weekends and can be challenging to get a table, however it is local and the owner is always polite!

Head to Main Street Croydon <br/>The best breakfast in the eastern suburbs<br/>The atmosphere in this place is amazing welcoming you are treated as a part of a friendly family, ordered the littorio's special big breakfast, big is an understatement here, this would be the best value for money breakfast, I chose to go with the apple juice, freshly made cloudy apple juice chilled with a "perfectly " frothed coffee complemented a platter of fluffy scrambled eggs and assorted delicious breakfast delights <br/>Great value for money and customer service a winner with me

An Italian restaurant, obviously, and I have only been in here for coffee so far. The coffee was fantastic, one of the best I have had, extracted perfectly, the right temperature, strong with no sign of bitterness. My intention is to return here for a meal, as I noted on their menu there were a number of vegetarian menu options (and even some vegan), including some scrumptious-sounding breakfast offerings. It is a classy establishment, upmarket, and the décor is suitably stylish, perhaps a little retro. I found the service very welcoming and efficient, and I complimented the barista on the coffee before leaving. I would recommend a visit.
Kyeema
We are a regular breakfast fan having tried many of the local food places in the area. The food is always reliable, good service, fresh and good taste. Wish they had a bit more variety occasionally and stretched their menu to offer a few more unique dishes.
Roslana Bahmad
Best food with generous portions, most balanced delicious coffee ever and most caring and customer focused service highly recommend this amazing place.

Cold breakfast and ordinary coffee. Staff were rude. Asked for only one egg, got 2. When informing staff that find was cold, they did t seem to care.<br/>Wouldn't recommend it at all!

What an amazing lovely spot in croydon, service was excellent staff were very welcoming from the moment we walked through the door with a smile and the coffee was on spot smooth and rich loved it and the food was pretty much the best bit about this place, all the meals were very generous with perfect cooked eggs and the bacon was just so yummy as for the shared breakfast we have had never ever seen a more perfect breakie that that dish, you have to see it for yourself to believe it…definitely our favourite breakfast destination from now on

Such a hard decision on what to rate Littorio's. On the one hand, they have great customer service and are great value for money. On the other hand, the menu does not offer much uniqueness, and the dishes seem to fall short in one or two significant aspects, even when they contain other elements of a high standard. <br/>The first time I went, my partner and I ordered the shared breakfast for two. At $20 per person It was great value, and would be especially so for two big eaters. It could quite easily feed 3 smaller eaters too. It comes with all the mainstream breakfast goodies (see menu for full list), and also includes Bircher muesli and two freshly squeezed orange juices. The array of food was served on a nice divided platter too. Quality wise, everything was up to scratch but by no means mind-blowing.<br/>This last time we went I ordered the eggs benedict and my partner ordered the corn fritters. The pros concerning the benedict were definitely the double smoked bacon and the bread. The sourdough was nice and the right amount of crispy, while the bacon was excellent with a beautiful smokey and charred flavour. They were exceptionally generous with this, I've never seen so much bacon! There must have been three or four large rashers. I could only manage maybe half of what was served. Concerning the hollandaise sauce, although the edge was nicely dimmed by the egg, it was still very sour as far as hollandaise sauce goes, and still became sickly after a while. It was however, very generously applied. The presentation was poor, with everything stacked on top of each other, the the eggs and sauce resting in a bacon nest on the top. Overall for $16, it's impeccable value. <br/>The corn fritters were quite nice in terms of flavour, though perhaps a bit too salty. I liked how there was a lot of focus on the flavour of the actual corn. However, they were also very heavy, lots of flour used in the batter. The bacon was good as well of course. Another downside was the somewhat pathetic amount of smashed avo. It was also oniony, which I liked though. The rocket "salad" was merely a big bed of fresh rocket, no dressing or anything else. I didn't mind as it provided a clean freshness in contrast with the saucy oiliness and strong flavours; but in principle, the wording on the menu was misleading. The worst part was the sweet corn purée, which was unbearably salty, enough to be too much for any living person. So much for sweet. It was also poorly presented in this same stacking fashion, such that it detracts from all the elements in the dish. You can't even see the fritters, and they are also resting in a pool of that purée, which wouldn't be so bad if the purée wasn't so salty. <br/>The chef has some significant things to consider, but Littorio's nevertheless remains extremely popular. As for me, i may be being a bit generous in rating it a 3.5, but I've never come across a breakfast place that was such good value. That said though, I don't think I would go out to Croydon again for the sole purpose of dining here.

Mostly good but it can be one of those Hit and Miss situation ... <br/><br/>Parking can be challenging at times, but it has the perfect location, casually set up, it has the right ambiance, good service and it could be the best cafe in that area.<br/><br/>It's hard to follow at times, Soy latte can be sensational and not so good the next. Menu is quite good though.

BEST SCRABBLED EGGS EVER! Decent price and quick service. Coffee was delicious, meal sizes are HUGE! Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff members.

Went here for the first time for breakfast and it was wonderful. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It's great that they offer drinks while you look over the menu. We order Dukkah spiced eggs which was lovely and the service was really quick. Didn't try and rush you out once you'd finished. Will definitely go back again.

Thanks Anna and the team for a superb cafe experience. Between the two of us we had a Magic, Mocha, Corn Fritters and Tasmanian Salmon on Potato Rosti. It's an absolute gem of a place when you find a cafe that does amazingly good coffee and beautifully poached eggs so far out in the eastern suburbs!

Updated review.<br/>Once again, the service is very friendly and the coffee is awesome. I didn’t it like the avocado smash at all. I actually asked for freshly sliced avocado which was denied, instead reassuring me that their preprared smashed avo was very good. It’s not! It was sloppy and soaked through to my rye toast. I only ate half a slice of toast’s worth. I asked that my poached eggs not be super runny but a just a little. It was hard boiled. Once again, I ate half an egg and left the rest. <br/>My friend fully enjoyed her scrabbled egg and bacon on gluten free toast.

I happened upon Littorios on a Sunday late morning, after a night of heavy drinking and having not eaten anything since the night before. So I was starving and hung over – great combo, right?. As per usual, I ordered a skinny cap to go with the Breakfast Platter that a friend and I decided we were going to share. Call me a coffee snob, but I have never, ever had a good coffee that comes in a mug this large:

Went here for breakfast today and it was fantastic! A lot better than I was expecting, we had the breakfast board which was massive, and even came with freshly squeezed juice which was delicious, all for $40! I loved that it included muesli and goodies like feta, hollandaise and Avo too! Highly recommend

Beautiful food generous size and quality! Myself and family are regulars. Best coffee around wouldn't/ don't go anywhere else. Great for couples, family's and work outings. Highly recommend. Staff are also attentive and very polite :)

Wanted to try something local since we have just moved to Croydon. No more cafe just downstairs our apartment :( Littorio's has really good reviews so we have decided to pay a visit with my parents. Waitress was kinda rushing us with food order, asked us twice in like 5 minutes as we were still going through the menu. Coffee using St Ali coffee beans and was really good. Food came pretty quick. Portions were MASSIVE! My Tassie salmon wrapped poached eggs was quite nice, but by the time I got to the second rosti, it was pretty soggy. Dad's chicken, avocado and cheese foccacia was not too bad. Mom didn't really enjoy her chorizo and beans bake, taste a bit like something you quickly stir up at home. C's corn fritters were quite bland but the bacon was flavour some. Sort of balanced it out. We couldn't finish our food, portion is probably 1.5 times what you get in the Hawthorn/Kew area.

This place was pretty busy when we got here for a late breke. We decided to try this place after reading up on the shared breke platter.<br/><br/>The venue was quite noisy when we arrived but did eventually die down as people started to leave, the venue layout is pretty standard with seating at the front and then on the side of the counter as per most small cafes. The service here was also quite slow as it took as a while to be able to place an order which then took a while to come out. <br/><br/>We asked if could change the freshly squeezed juice to another drink like a coffee but they said no, so we ordered one apple juice and one orange juice along with a cappuccino and an iced coffee. <br/><br/>The shared platter did take a while to come out but there was also a lot on it to be prepared. We started with the muesli which was actually really nice and tasty although we didn't want to finish it and fill up on it as we had the whole board to get through.<br/>There was a lot of food! The scrambled eggs were so fluffy and delicious and we bring really enjoyed the sides of feta cheese and avocado which was a nice touch to the large meal. The bacon was cooked well and was plenty however there was only one sausage which we cut in half. The potato rosti, mushrooms and spinach were also nice to cut the eggs and bacon with. <br/><br/>There was actually so much good, we couldn't finish it all, and by the time we were done eating, the staff were already packing up the outside furniture. This platter is definitely good value for money and very tasty, would probably even be good to share between three people!

A very basic but modern cafe, food is absolutely delicious and would recommend trying the smashed avo or the breakfast for 2, excellent coffee as well, one of the best places in the region! Must try

We were told there'll be a wait for a table but got one within 10 mins. We were ready to order but had to ask twice. We waited another 45 mins and no food came. We asked them to check on our order and they came back to tell us about someone else's order. As we're in a hurry we decided to pay for the drinks and leave. The guy at the till was so rude and yelled at us saying we were told there's a wait. For table, not food and such poor service!

Really generous serves of tasty food. Good coffee and waitresses are lovely. The menu warns that everything is made to order so there was a bit of a wait for food to be served as we were here on a busy Sunday morning.

Breakfast-wise it's a great place with fresh, honest food and, importantly, great coffee. It's a family business with Michael the main man always there with a smile on his face. The rest of the team is also very polite and friendly. Small but very good choice of fresh juice blends. Lunch and dinner menus are easy and simple, making it a good option for a lazy night of no cooking or a get together with friends locally.

Very rude manager. No customer service and was very belittling to talk to and seemed to be the same to the staff.<br/>Great food and waitresses, however when it came to paying the bill I was overcharged for no reason, I would have payed it if I wasn't paying attention when putting my eftpos PIN number in. There was no explanation, so makes me wonder if this happens 'accidently' quite a lot.<br/>My sister is currently pregnant, and was unable to eat the feta which was included in the meal she chose, so asked the waitress if she could swap this for relish instead - the waitress was lovely and said she could.<br/>When it came to the bill, he argued that 'we don't allow swapping here' which we agreed was fine, however this was not made clear to us when we ordered the meal, and therefor should not have to pay the extra - for something we didn't even have. He then continued make gestures to 'shush' us, calling my sister 'sweetheart' in a very demeaning way, eventually agreeing to bring the price down.<br/> If that's not bad enough, he then called the delightful, young waitress who served us over, and belittled her infront of us and other customers and staff - for allowing us to swap ingredients on the meal.<br/>Such a petty thing made into such a big deal.<br/>If your dealing with people everyday & don't believe in customer service and making your customers feel appreciated and heard, you shouldn't be in a people-orientated job, such as a cafe like this one.<br/>Because of this rude man, my family and I won't be returning. It left a bad taste in our mouths and made the whole experience unpleasant.

Tried this place at the south end of the shopping strip for the first time and it was impressive.  Great service, nice hot coffee, basic menu with enough variety to keep the majority happy.  The serving size was generous and the price was good also.  Will definitely return, neat, clean and a nice place to eat.

My friend and I had a late breakfast last Sunday and were both totally blown away by this gem of a cafe.  Wow!! I live in Oakleigh but would drive here any day of the week.  The service was incredibly friendly and helpful without being suffocating. Despite being flat out busy our waitress took the time to explain a few things as if she had all the time in the world.  The food was just incredible.  By far the best breakfast I have ever had and that's saying something.  The smashed avocado, feta and mushroom bruschetta with poached eggs and salmon was to die for.  We wanted to share the pancakes but we're just too full.  They looked amazing on the table next door.  The staff knew the names of many customers who must have been return customers.  I can't wait to go back for dinner!

Can't decide what to order? Get the shared breakfast plate. whoo hooo!!! it's amazing it has everything. Only the muesli is a bit too sweet.   Would love to see some more options on the dinner menu but everything else is incredible. I will be returning!!!

Best brunch in the area! Comfortable dining, great portions and reasonable prices. Service is always friendly and personable. Would recommend it to all!

Terrible coffee and rude management. There are plenty of better cafes in the area.

Enjoyed a breakfast for two, which is defiantly for two if not more. Quality of food was good with large portions to share. <br/>Breakfast for two included a range of items from eggs and bacon to muesli, which arrived quickly after ordering. The meal also included juice which to my surprise was freshly squeezed, making it light and refreshing. <br/>Decor was inviting with ivory extending onto the walls however the staff were not so much, waitress' were out of uniform with one girl wearing a "hooters" t-shirt. <br/>Food was value for money, customer service not so much.

It's always nice to be greeted when you walk into a restaurant/cafe and while I know that sounds simple and some what stupid, it's not always the case. But here at Littorio's you are always welcomed in like you've knocked on the front door of a good friend. Coffee is delicious and the staff are very accommodating when it comes to slight menu alterations to suit certain smaller, fussier eaters! Breakfast was delicious and will definitely have me returning to try other things from their extensive menu.
