Review The Lower Deck Cafe - Croydon

Luna Lee
The Lower Deck Cafe is at 6 San Carlos Walk, Croydon, Victoria. This eatery has plenty of nearby parking, shops amenities and a lovely local park closeby. The staff are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The cafe has big glass window frontage. Bright, clean, trendy, comfortable and well heated with a shick feel. The food is attractively presented, absolutely delicious. Adequate portions and fair pricing. Highly recommended!

Where do i start! Great customer service Clean with a great ambiance Vienna coffee was the best I've had in Croydon for quite a awhile Big breakfast is a generous portion size which is cooked to perfection This is a hidden gem, do yourself a favor and treat yourself today

Nothing but good things to say here! Didn't see wheelchair access but the staff were phenomenal. Reasonable pricing for excellent food is a major win. Coffee is purportedly fantastic but I can only vouch for the hot chocolate as being very very nice (and yes, you get a marshmallow)

Best eggs benny in Melbourne. Always poached to perfection, homemade hash browns are amazing. Good coffee too, haven’t had a bad brekky here yet.

Come here on mother's day so it was busy and the food was still really really good and didn't take as long as I expected to come out with both the inside and out side tables full. Nice friendly staff and good to have the option of inside and outside tables.

The Lower Deck Cafe Restaurant tucked away down the San Carlos Walk, Croydon. We came across this cafe by accident walking down the lane. There food service closes at 3pm so we just had a coffee. The menu looks inviting, while the cafe has a very relaxing private ambience. Will return next time through and choose diner from the menu. A good find.

We used to go here all the time, however it's unclear if the 'deck' will actually be open. The amount of times we've been sitting there having breakfast only to be told the owner now wants to clear the deck because there is a function happening at the venue the deck is attached to... Food is OK, coffee is usually pretty good but I think for the price and location, this place is missing it's opportunities and potential.

I always come here with my friends that have kids because it backs on to a park which is super convenient. The food is nice enough at a reasonable price and the coffee and service is hit and miss depending on the day.

As a regular visitor to the lower deck both with friends or just my husband for their tasty food, on Wednesday I came home disappointed. All of us agree that although it took us by surprise that the much love menu had changed we left unimpressed, and unsure if we will return. As many of us were fans of the lazy hen burger, the new burger that has taken it place just does not hit the mark. Another guest of ours had the chicken and waffles and was not overly impressed with her dish either. All of us, self confessed food lovers left parts of our meal uneaten on the plate. Both lacked the freshness of the old menu. When we mentioned to the waitress that we missed the old burger, she announced that soon you will be opening in the evenings and it will be available on that menu. Although this sounds good in theory, as shift workers lunch is more often than not the only time we get to eat out. I guess my question is why change a menu that kept customers coming back week in week out. We loved the old menu and for someone with food allergies it was much easier to make a simple choice than it is with the new menu. I feel unfortunately the menu has become a little too "hipster", and lacks the homely feel of the old menu which we loved. Just food for thought

This place is by far the best cafe I've ever had the pleasure of dining at! The staff were very friendly and gave a warm welcome. The food was to die for (had salt and pepper calamari) and came out very quickly. Not one bad thing to say about this place. Will definitely be returning!

We come here regularly in our lunch hour so know the menu inside out..which leads me to my next point - the menu, while very good, is getting a bit samey after coming here for a while, it needs a revamp asap! Also don't expect to eat quickly - even if you are in your lunch hour, the service from the kitchen is quite slow..apart from that it's a nice place *We have just waited nearly an hour for the wrong order and half the menu wasn't available..sorry but we won't be back And..the staff are a tad defensive and apathetic when we kindly mentioned the problems..very disappointing

Awesome breakfast today, the pulled pork Benedict. It was busy and we didn't have a booking but they happily accommodated us in the bench, coffee was hot and great and the banana smoothie for our little one was to die for. Well done, so happy to have a great place with yummy food and good service so close to home!
Fiona Perkins
As always the food and service was fantastic. Just love the thick slices of briosh toast. The scrambled eggs were creamy and delicious and the corn fritters were very nice also.
Barbara Talbot
Service was good but dissapointed with the order, corn fritters, because there was avocado on it, which was not stated on the menu, and the poached egg was under cooked. Waste of money.
Sarah Bailey
There were so many yummy options to choose from that my friend and I needed a while to decide! I had the carrot salad, which was a hearty meal of baby carrots (so pretty in their several colours, and warming with their harissa glaze), filling freekeh and plenty of labne to pull it all together. My friend had the buttermilk fried chicken and waffles, which were crisp and delicious, the jalapeño-spiced maple syrup getting the heat just right. Next time we visit, the savoury pancakes, the burger, the green bowl and the vego shakshuka are in our sights. Thanks for a beautiful meal to warm up with on a chilly day.

Always love it here. Service great. Food tasty. Friendly staff. The deck outside is great to bring my grand daughters and dog too without feeling hemmed in. It's a win win
Michael Gow
Great place. Great Service and Great Food. Definitely will be back there in the future.

Awesome place and very friendly staff. Lemon slice is great

Busy little cafe so needed to wait a little while but totally worth it. Food and coffee is excellent

Been for breakfast here a few time - food is always tasty and they are always great with the kids

Milk is not meant to be lumpy! As if it wasn't already awkward enough that I had to send my coffee back, we were then made to feel uncomfortable for our entire stay. With dirty looks and what I would describe as an extremely patronizing reason as to why my coffee came out undrinkable. Of the four of us dining, two are actually baristas themselves so you could imagine not only were we uncomfortable with being given such terrible customer service but we also knew we were being told lies. Might I suggest learning how to handle soy milk before acting like you know what you're doing and not taking it to what must've been almost 100 degrees? Or even a simple apology to a customer complaint? My coffee was curdled and undrinkable and all we asked was that it be taken off the bill, we were nowhere near as rude as we were treated in return! My sympathies go out to our male server, who we assumed was the manager. Your service was top notch, it's a shame your staff don't share the same high standards as yourself! The food was lovely, but I probably wouldn't be back based purely on our treatment by the two female staff members who made us feel this way.

We love this place & it is our weekend hangout with our dog & sitting outside is gorgeous & we drink a lot of coffee at various places during the week at work & I love this coffee here !

Just a classic Croydon cafe. Been here a bit but it’s also right near the playground and skatepark. I don’t skate because I have bad knees and also if I’m just gonna be honest I’m not that coordinated so it’s hard. You really need to push yourself and it just doesn’t interest me enough to try.

Great Cafe, staff are very nice. Food is tasty with great portions. Coffee is also very nice, best in Croydon.
Have been here a dozen times and will be back :)
Hayleyalycerodgers
Cosy, friendly staff and generous portions. I had the vegetarian breakfast, which was delicious. Good coffee also. Would definitely go back again.

We have been here a few times and it’s been nothing but friendly, warm service coupled with excellent food, great coffee and a thoroughly satisfying experience.

They are dog friendly too which is a HUGE bonus.

Love this place and highly recommend it!

we had coffee and afternoon tea on Friday. coffee was good, nice and hot. unfortunately my cake looked amazing but didn't quite live up to expectations.
Silvia Kolaric
Great location , friendly service. I had fruit toast and if you like your fruit go elsewhere. Mine came with the crust/end slice which is bad manners. You don't serve the crust to customers .
Dog McDogstein
A warm cozy venue, that serves up an amazing coffee and and a breakfast that will have you reminiscing through the day. Friendly staff, and the option to eat outside on the deck area, sets up a very enjoyable experience that will make you want to be a regular, to feel part of the fabric of this humble little cafe.

We sat outside on a cosy morning and had a beautiful view of the hills. Felt like we were somewhere so peaceful and amongst the nature. My partner ordered a big brekky and I ordered breakfast bruschetta. Honestly, the big brekky was 10/10 in every way! So much variety and true to its value. The breakfast bruschetta however was way too salty for my liking. I couldn't enjoy anything except for the sourdough itself. The order took around 30 mins to arrive which seemed like a lot as the place wasn't really that busy. However, for the view and its atmosphere I would definitely recommend this place!

First time in Croydon and this place surprised me!
We ordered two burgers and they are super delicious!
Had a cup of latte and blue heaven milk shake, not bad!
We sit at the deck and it was quite windy but the weather was so 👍🏽 nice!
DamoForce Food
Service was good. Warm beverages we started on were nice and quite promt. Weird they brought put the almond milk before anything for the muesli. That dish was quite good. Would eat again. The toast wasn't the best being only cooked one side an almost could.
Bonastar1977
Pleasant environment both inside and outside. Coffee is brilliant! Based on the salmon omelette and the zucchini fritter, I would like to see a close on the gap between what is described on the menu to what is served. Prices are reasonable. Staff are friendly and hard working. And did I mention how brilliant the coffee is?!
Sharne
This cafe is an absolute delight! You're welcomed with friendly service and are attended to promptly. It can get very busy, but that's a good sign! The food is delicious, well prepared and of generous proportions.
GoodFood4Me
Had a lovely experience here today for lunch. Service was prompt and friendly. The chef's salad with poached chicken was very fresh and the dressing didn't overwhelm the natural flavours of the ingredients. The Eggs Benedict was ok, had better but ok. Just a bit bland. The hamburger was very greasy and oozed and splashed onto the wooden board. The chips were very nice. The coffee was smooth and pretty good and according to my son, the Frappe was average.
Had lunch here today, menu limited, service non existent, took 20 mins to take out order forgot the orange juice and the calamari was chewy to say the least
Won't be back
Only redeeming feature was good coffee
This café is slightly out of the way, at the end of a laneway off the main street of Croydon. Easy to miss unless you are local or a regular. The menu is a little limited, but reasonably interesting, with at least two vegan options on their lunch and breakfast menus. I have had coffee and fruit toast there, but may try out their vegetarian shakshuka (vegan style, without eggs) at some stage. What I did have was up to scratch. The café has a large outside under cover dining space, and inside behind the glass and timber façade it is modern and quite fashionable. It seems to be always well patronized which is usually a good sign.

Always enjoy a visit to Lower Deck. Food is great, and service can not be faulted. Coffee is some of the best I've ever had (and I've had more than enough to judge)
Nick
We went to this cafe after reading the reviews on Zomato, but found the menu quite limited to what has been previously reviewed. There was no wedges or steak sandwiches (both mentioned favorably in other reviews) and despite being listed as a Tapas restaurant on Zomato, there was no Tapas. There was a quite large "all day breakfast" menu, and a limited lunch menu of six items, plus specials. My partner had the bacon and eggs because she couldn't find anything else on the menu she liked for lunch, and I had the Double Deck-er Burger.
The meals were really nice and quite large, the coffee was good, the service was fast, the staff were all friendly and it was good value for money. All positive points! It just wasn't the place to go for lunch as there wasn't enough choices. If you're looking to go out for breakfast or coffee and cake, I'd definitely give this place a go, but the limited lunch menu meant it didn't really suit what we were looking for.
Helen Morton
Whilst the staff and service was excellent the menu choice for lunch was disappointing. Checked out reviews before going and was expecting a different choice of food. Ended up having bacon and eggs which was quite good but not what I was looking for. Won't be back.

Check out their Menu......

The place to go for a proper breakfast/brunch in the area, behind the main esplanade, however if you sniff hard enough you'll find it.

Well made coffee too.

Enjoyable set up, indoor or outdoor.

1h wait!!!! No food no apologies. Much better cafes in everywhere in Melbourne. They need to up their game and get more trained staff in that kitchen.
Jo Blannin
This place is great. John the manager is lovely and always friendly and keen to help. We bring our seeing eye dog in here and it's never any trouble. The food is consistently excellent. If you go for breakfast, try the big breakfast. For lunch - order the thai beef salad. Great little spot with an outdoor area (heated in winter) that is away from traffic. Service is always good - even when it's busy (and it's often busy!). It you're in Croydon, try it out - head down the laneway next to the bookshop.
BGfood
Amazing wedges! I literally come here just for their amazing wedges. I am never disappointed. The coffee good, not great. The staff are friendly although they can be slow to serve you when the manager is not around. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but if you don't mind walking from the station there is always a park there. Overall, the food is great, the coffee is good and I do recommend for a mid week lunch.
Jjf 1983
I've given this place so many chances and it just keeps disappointing. The staff here always seem completely stressed out and unhelpful, in particular the male owner. His attitude towards customers comes across as rude and arrogant and that customers are a massive inconvenience. (This is my observation from many visits, not just one occasion). The coffee here is always good, which is probably why I keep going back, but the food is average and quite pricey and the menu remains largely unchanged since they opened.
Make customers priority and pick up your menu and I'd consider coming back.

We decided to try this place out for lunch on the way home after the big New Years weekend in the city.

We chose to sit outside on the decking and waited a little to be served. We ordered a a steak sandwich with chips to share along with two of the tapas menu options; the calamari and the Asian tasting plate. We also ordered a chai and a mocha frappe.

The drinks came out first, the chai frappe was very nice however the mocha frappe was very bland and watery, way too much ice was used and not enough cream/milk.

The steak sandwich was cooked well however it had way too much grilled onion on it, it was covered in a thick layer of grilled onion and was completely overpowering the taste of the steak. It also came with a fruity chutney type sauce that was quite nice with the nice crispy chips.
The calamari was a little undercooked but was still quite enjoyable, with its light batter and dipping sauce.
The Asian tasting plate is a bunch of deep fried finger food and was not something special however they were all tasty and not drilling in oil so they remained crispy and crunchy. The samosas and the prawns were our favourite items from the plate, served with dark soy and sweet chilli.

The staff were very pleasant and friendly, however there was a little issue with some of the service as we were asked to move to a different table well into our lunch as the table we were on, had been accidentally placed in front of the door to another venue entry that would be opening up shortly so a waitress Helped us move our plates to another table. Although the this wasn't to much hassle, it was still a little snoot in having to move tables while your eating.

Overall the food is nice and the staff are friendly however the downside would the the menu is very limited and quite basic.

Came here not long ago, yeah it's alright, can't say that I'm hugely impressed coffee was good service was okay maybe I'll have to try it again soon and give them the benefit of trying again to impress me

A nice relaxing cafe, great for coffee with a friend or for meeting with a client or business associate. Great breakfast menu with everything you could possibly want. Great friendly service.
Doug Montgomery
Great atmosphere dropped in for a quick coffee very impressed with staff and atmosphere. Coffee and fruit toast, coffee was good toast was delicious. I will return with my wife for breakfast, have a feeling will need to book for a table on a Sat morning.

Want to like...but.... I've been to this cafe about 4 times over a few years and I can't conjur up any good feelings about it which is a shame because I really want to like this cafe as it has a lot going for it. Pros: Great location, wonderful ambience and large outdoor area. Cons: Overpriced, ordinary service and unmemorable coffee. I also can't recall have a decent selection of vegetarian options.
Nicola Dawborn
If you want courteous service, you'll have to pay for it. I can't deny these guys do a good breakfast and a decent coffee - but a little less attitude would go a long way. When I've taken a small table and bought a meal I've been treated with the usual courtesy you'd expect in any cafe. However on the two or three occasions I've come with a larger group wanting coffee only - there has been a distinct unwillingness to accommodate - with bookings denied, snide remarks made about not ordering food, and a grumpy and "it's all too hard and inconvenient" demeanour displayed by one of the owners about moving tables together outside. Consequently, we've gone across the road to Kofi Beans, where the coffee's not as good, but nothing is too difficult for the friendly staff.
There are two things to say about this: the first is: every member of the group I was with lives locally, talks to other locals and eats at cafes on other occasions (go figure). The second point is: The cafe market can be fickle, and arrogance doesn't work in customer service. So, please - Lower Deck, develop a little humility, and realise that today's coffee drinker is potentially tomorrow's lunch booking.
Nical1979
Great place just away from the hustle and bustle of main st, my favourite part about this place is the little things you can get. Mini brekky wraps or burgers for about $5. Awesome sausage rolls and bite size slices to have with a coffee. So many places fail to have that stuff between a full meal and a muffin, but these guys do it really well. Always found them to be friendly and good service. Full brekky menu is stock standard and the food is pretty good. Coffee is nice and an excellent alfresco area, not just kerbside like most of the others in Croydon.
Jacquipope84
The Lower Deck Cafe. DELICIOUS FOOD! Great service and alfresco dining! Just beautiful! My favourite place to dine for lunch! HIGHLY RECCOMEND
Lucy Costin
Not a happy experience. Rude waiters and food was honestly not worth the money. Don't think I'll be coming back because of the service.
Jessica
...the newest café to hit Croydon. This venture is a dependable option for families, with a familiar all day breakfast and lunch menu, with common favorites like scrambled eggs with a mix of ingredients, Brookfield Muesli and Thai Beef Salad. Standard fare, but the portions are generous, the flavours are present, the service is respectable and the café is warmly furnished.
Andrew
Refreshing to find a place that's not only make great coffee but the staff are friendly and attentive :) will be back when I'm in Melbourne next ;$
Jon
Walked in, not overly busy (more than a couple of tables available). Was seated by a server. Ten minutes later still sitting there, no menus, no drink order, no water.

A couple at a table nearby with menus in front of them (who had been present since we walked in - menus and all), looking around for a server. Three behind the counter having a conversation, ignoring all the customerss. After 15 minutes walked out. Made our feelings known and pointed out the other couple still waiting to order. Pathetic service. Not sure what happened - it used to be good. Wouldn't waste my time now - literally. Avoiding d like the Black Plague.
Getus
Appalling. Service was really slow. Staff were very rude and unkind about having a pram with me. I think they should take down their 'kid friendly' claims as I definitely did not find this to be the case.

I have been looking forward to trying this cafe and after being treated so rudely today, I will never go back. Surprising that they feel they can just turn customers away, seeing as there are so many fantastic cafes in Croydon.
Natdet
Consistently Great Food and Service!. This is my favourite place to go for brekky; food is always so fresh and tasty and best coffee in the East! Service is always good, especially when Reece is on. Great to go to for lunch too; Lazy Hen Burger is fantastic, but lighter options are also great. I've tried a LOT of cafes in the surrounds and The Lower Deck is by far the best for consistently great food and service!!
Rachel Dower
Great! Absolutely delish, great service, fantastic atmosphere and reasonably priced. Will come again
TTR
Looking for some good lunch food to take to the rellies for lunch, not having much luck till saw this place down a side st. Wow great looking fresh food that tastes yummy and could even be good for you! Staff so very friendly and obliging.
Celeste
Best breakfast in the eastern suburbs! Friendly service. Cheap amazing food!
Christopher Darren Power
Good food.... Awesome Raspberry chocolate coconut muffins...

Thanks guys
Sarah
My husband and I go here quite a bit. We've always found the food to be well priced and delicious (particularly the Caesar salad!!). Always enjoyed our coffees and contrary to some of the reviews here have always had great service. All the staff, and in particular the owner have always welcomed and accommodated our now almost 2 year old son (even when he has made a mess of the floor or table).
Becky Maxwell
Breakfast was tasteless... coffee was average.
The bread/muffin used on the breakfasts was untoasted and doughy... yuck!
Sweeterberry
Not bad. This place is OK for what it is. The prices are good and the food is also pretty good. Coffee has always been good too which is a rare thing around here.
Emma
Great!!. Really nice/fresh breakfast, comfy vibe, and quick friendly service! Would recommend to anyone.
Donm
Really friendly helpful staff
Great coffee and good
Will be back
C
All the elements on my plate were, individually, fine. However, they simply didn't go together. I ordered eggs florentine with hash browns. The spinach was heavily salted, which, together with salty butter on the bread, and salty sauce made me quite parched (our table water wasn't replenished either). Together with avocado crazily loaded with lemon juice, it was a really unpleasant combo. Undercooked hash browns and overly sweet powder chai were the nail in the coffin!
Kean Spencer
Yum yum breakfast. Good breakfast this morning and great that lunch menu started at 11am .

Big breakers a winner and good coffee
Sarah
Fantastic service, great coffee, a lovely deck for warmer months and yummy food.

Lower Deck, Great Croyden cafe. We really loved this restaurant, wait staff were excellent, food and drinks were served very efficiently, we were there for breakfast and were impressed with the quality of the food. Highly recommend.
Kristine Vandenberg
Pram friendly! (Especially with 7 prams from the mums group) good food but occasional slow service with items missing/wrong. But overall a great place!
Alisha
Delicious!! Great service, lovely food and a great atmosphere. With indoor or outdoor seating available, this is a year round cafe for me. I highly recommend this hidden gem.
Allen Ittep
The service here, like the coffee, is sometimes hit and miss. Get it on a good day and it's the place to be, on the flip side, I have waited 25 minutes sitting at the table without being acknowledged at all only to be served by an emotionless robot who served me milky rocket fuel in a latte glass.
Jess
My partner and I frequent Lower Deck every few weeks. I love the food, service and the coffee. It's not always consistent and the cuts to the menu we're probably the wrong idea, as there is too much chicken and not enough of anything else. (Eg. Where is the arancini? It was so good!)
I still love it though, the breakfast is beautiful and we'll keep going until they're sick of our faces.
MBA Food
Dreadful coffee and poor service. Staff think they are working on Chapel St.
Lily Snare
Having visitored the lowerdeck cafe a couple times now I will continue to come back for the great coffee and atmosphere. Which has been consistent. I can't start my day without a morning coffee and I think I have found the perfect spot to get it. The staff also seem to deal with influx of people well and are only to happy to be of assistance. Having been there for breakfast recently on a very busy Easter Saturday with family. It was again great coffee, food and service. I will be back next week!
Username
Never again. First time and last time I go there. Owner greeted me and asked how I was, and before I answered she said "actually John, can you serve this person?"
Waited 20 minutes for a takeaway coffee only to find it had been sitting there for 5 minutes because no one had bothered to tell me it was ready. And then coffee was awful.
Jemma
I love this place, the coffee is great (not sure about people saying that the coffee is undrinkable) friendly service & lovely affordable food.
Jan
Coffee undrinkable. Staff hopeless. Seating (just). Not a happy experience
Lauren Cormack
I found the staff far too friendly, I don't need to know who is sleeping with whom in the cafe. And not only was the coffee Undrinkable but I couldn't find anywhere to tip it out. Would never go back
Rosa Lee
The only cafe in Croydon open on the Australia Day public holiday. Had the vego breaky which was amazing. Service was great too, especially considering how busy it was! Will definitely be back soon for more of their coffee!
Kim J
Pleased with public holiday madness!. I was quite satisfied with my experience at the Lower Deck today considering how extremely busy they were, probably due to being the only cafe open in Main Street! They kept their cool and did an excellent job trying to accommodate for every customer. Everything I ordered was delicious and the staff are lovely. I would recommend this cafe to anyone!
Jules
Slow and muddled service. This cafe is good by Croydon standards but needs to improve their service. They should have 2 people on the machine during busy times and make sure orders are served in the correct order. Waited 15 minutes for a takeaway coffee which is a stretch. Might give them another shot...
Lucy
Great coffee and service. Went for coffee and snack, ambience is fabulous, coffee was just as fabulous. Bacon/egg roll ok but bun was stale so they offered a complementary cake to make up for it. So I would say all in all a great little cafe with a nice vibe and friendly/helpful staff
Andree Semmens
Lower deck, Higher quality. Great food with fresh flavours and just the right amount of friendly in their service. The coffee is also very fresh. I enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast (with bacon!), home made baked beans and delicious thyme mushrooms. They also have gluten free options. The breakfasts come with one egg as standard (whose standard is that!) and the plates are not warmed, but they were my only down sides.
Food Face
Had brekkie last Sunday- beautiful- had the salmon and avocado eggs benedict- took a lil while to come out but given it was a full house and it's really good value what can you say?! Would definitely go back

Generally been really good when I have been there previously feels like its slipping tho . Order was wrong when brought out and eggs Benedict was served on what seemed like day old roll. Water served in empty jack Daniels bottles that look like their never cleaned

-----16 Sep, 2012-----

Generally been really good wheh I gave been there. Bloody beautiful breakfast, highly recommend! I had a yummy vegie breaky with a poached egg, mushrooms, spinach, cherry tomatoes and fetta. It was so nice!! Coffees were also good! Must book though, was very busy!!

Catering to both simple tastes and price points and more gourmet tastes, Lower Deck cafe has become a local favourite.
Great coffee, quality ingredients and good ambience. Only complaint is that it may a touch cramped for mums/prams etc as a friend of ours noticed. All good otherwise.
Tara Benning
Another Great Addition to Croydon. So good to have another awesome cafe in Croydon.
Love it all.
Nellie
Great find. Really great little coffee shop - love the fact I can have a sweet treat without it being enormous and over $5. I had a lemon tart with cream with my coffee for under $7. The coffee is sensational - great Sunday barista. Love it!! will recommend it to all my friends.
Pam Cooper
Somewhere new. What a great little cafe. Fantastic fit out with a great feel. I have been there twice now and both times have had great coffee and I'm not easy to please :) the staff were attentive and we were seated quickly and menus and orders were taken. Just ordered poached eggs and bacon the eggs were beautifully cooked and the bacon was some of the tastiest I've had. This is a great little place and I will definitely return.

A fantastic spot in Croydon. The Lower Deck breathes fresh life into the cafe scene in Croydon and surrounds which has been lacking for some time.
The food is fresh and funky and always of highest quality. The cafe has a great feel especially with the tv fireplace which actually makes you feel warm and cosy on a winters day. Initially when The Lower Deck opened it felt like I was in a trendy expensive city cafe without a high over priced menu.
Well done to the staff and management and may you continue to be a leader in the Croydon area. Well done!
Jo
Great little cafe! Although wasn't too fond of the staff cleaning the dust off the window sill while I was eating brekky. Will take a lot of people away from kofi bean.
EspritJG
An extremely welcome addition to Croydon Main St. This will fast become the trendy cafe of the town, thanks to its contemporary ambience, carefully picked staff and most importantly extremely good coffee and food. Comfortable chic, without any pretentiousness.

Most AMAZING breakfast! Possibly one of the best breakfasts I have ever had! I had the big brekky! Highly reccommended! Fab food, excellent service!
Dina
Little beauty. What a great little place we have stumbled across...the atmosphere is beautiful an although we have been in here a few times now we have found that our meals were much nicer on the day that the girl is cooking,I would like to pass on a compliments to her.
Thumbs up to this cozy little spot we love it.

Great brekki. WOW, what a hidden gem, tucked away in a lane way off Main St, in Croydon.
Cozy warm atmosphere, with friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic breakfast.
Recommended highly
