Second visit on the weekend and despite being packed to the rafters the welcoming staff made room for us and then when able moved us to a more comfortable table. Delicious food, great decor and great coffee. Another great cafe in the outer eastern suburbs!
Wow..... The best breakfast I've ever had. I had the pulled pork Eggs benedict, the eggs, potato rostis, hollandaise were spot on. And my partner had the whipped avocado, so fresh. The staff made us feel at home.
I really like the atmospher and love the small touches of the place. I went to the cafe with my boyfriend because he had recommended the place. We were greeted by one of the staffs and it was quick service. Once ordered, the drinks and food did take some time. But what would you expect! It was the peak time! The wait was long, but the food was amazing. I had the poke bowl and it was what i had imagined.
Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu.
Been getting my coffee from here for a couple of weeks now and each coffee has been consistently fabulous and today I had a meal here with my mum and we both loved it. Food is amazing, coffee is spot on, staff are friendly and the cafe itself is beautifully crafted. Well done guys, you should be proud of yourselves for bringing such beauty to MoozyB
Checked out this cafe last week with the girls and it was the best food ive had for a ridiculously good price in so long! We all loved it so much were brining the rest of the girls back this week and making it our regular spot- staff are beyond lovely and attentive !
I went there this morning with my family for my belated birthday breakie. The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. I highly recommend you try the Mad Ram cafe as you will not be disappointed. Will definitely be back again.
An awesome cafe with great coffee and food. Great atmosphere and excellent staff. I will be back!! I had fruit toast with my coffee. But not normal fruit toast! A slice of heaven... recommended!!!!
Definitely a hidden treasure!! Best breakfast I have had in very very long time. Can’t wait to come back!
Amazing food!! Best breakfast I have eaten anywhere....can't wait to go back & slowly work my way through the menu!😊
Great coffee, great food, highly recommend this place!
Big to Mark and Dan!
Check it out!
I had my first visit to MadRam cafe on Saturday with beautiful friends. Absolutely loved my whole experience. Great atmosphere, fantastic service and the best food. Will definitely be back with all my friends.
A great little cafe in a great location. Fabulous food. Great atmosphere. A wonderful addition to the Croydon / Mooroolbark food scene. You’ll be seeing me again
I love everything about this place! Awesome coffee, delicious food and fabulous staff!
I've been twice since they opened. We had the salmon and the pulled pork. Both were beautifully presented and full of flavour. The coffee was good too. The bean is a slightly sweeter roast. Staff were friendly and helpful. The next day I got takeaway egg bacon roll which was delicious.
I took my sister and 3 year old here for lunch today and the staff were great. Very kid friendly. The waitress brought out some books to keep miss 3 entertained which was nice. The coffee was very good and the eggs were pouched to perfection. Looking forward to sampling more off the menu in the near future.
Very friendly staff and awesome little deck out the back.
I had The Eggs Benny Kinda Guy. Was absolutely delicious! 2 perfectly cooked poached eggs, that oozed all over the plate when you broke into them. And the pulled pork was amazing!!! Sooo much flavour.
Can't wait to come back for more!
Such a funky cafe. Whipped avo was delish especially with an added hash brown! Coffee was excellent and staff were very attentive. Cant wait to try other menu items!
Great coffee and vibe. The staff are friendly & engaging. All our vists have been great.
Great Job boys, place looks fantastic. great lunch and top coffee.

Smart. Slick. Fun service. Great food! Can't wait for the outside area to open!! Well done Dan and Nick!!
We can't wait to come back for more great coffee and great food! Well done boys
Today I popped in to try Mad Ram's special of Coffee & Egg/Bacon Rolls for $10! They were amaze balls! Hash brown included in there too! First time I tried Toby's Estate coffee and it was beautiful! There is only 1 coffee place in the valley that I buy my coffee from but I just found my second! Stunning cafe and Daniel McDonald & Mad Ram team keep doing what you are doing! Was great to see you again Daniel! I will def spread the word! Thank you & will be back!
Always a good time at the Ram. Super friendly space combined with high end food and coffee, what more could you ask for. Keep up the good stuff
Went here just the other day with Travis. Was so funny cause we went to just get coffee but ended up getting lunch! Zeph was on the coffee machine so coffee was 10/10 make sure you ask him about the time he dunked it play basketball! Was insane.
Had a good experience here. Service was good. Water provided. I enjoyed my meal and would like come back again to try some of the other menu items.
Smoothie bowls and pulled pork bennies on a Sunday arvo can literally cheer up anyone's day. This cute local Cafe dishes up some wonderful breakfast and lunch items that cater everyone's inner foodie. Head down and check them out!
Exceptional menu with inventive food and great coffee. They serve well, however in the multiple times we’ve visited the service itself hasn’t been the greatest. Long wait times between receiving menus and actually placing orders. Very confusing, sometimes feels as if the staff are avoiding you. Will not let this stop me from visiting, however, the food and coffee are just that good.
Small and beautiful place to have a good brunch around Croydon - Mooroolbark . Good menu, very friendly servers and fast service.
Something is there to choose for anyone having an average special need, well presented tasty meals. Ambiance, arrangements and cleanliness is good but can be improved
We were invited into Mad Ram Cafe for a weekend breakfast. This great café is located in Croydon.
They have a nice selection of dishes on their menu. We chose on our visit the Vanilla & coconut chia pudding, the Smashed Avo and the Corn and Kimchi fritters.
The vanilla & coconut chia pudding had fresh flavours. It was smooth and light. We loved the honeycomb that was served with the dish.
The smashed avo with an added hens egg had great flavours. The eggs were done perfectly. It was a nice contrast with the lavosh.
The Corn and kimchi fritters was a great dish. It was full of fantastic flavours and the little tingle we got from the kimchi and chilli was oh so good.
The Coffee was great. They were using Tobys Estate coffee.
We felt there was a welcoming environment. A great vibe to the place. The open kitchen is great, you can watch the chef doing his thing.
We thank Mad Ram Cafe for having us. We experienced Mad Ram Cafe as guests, and all of our opinions are genuine and are based on our experience at the time of our visit.
If you’re looking for a place with a bit of a quirky menu, then this is the place for you. Putting great twists on the classics and coming up with menu items that aren’t your standards is what you’ll find at Mad Ram. I love that the menu is categorised so it’s easy for you to find what you’re looking for. I’ve been here a couple of times and I’ve enjoyed it both times, and want to come back and try more! On this instance I go the Mad Breakky 2.0 (with added mushrooms) which was absolutely delicious. Plenty of mushrooms & the Yorkshire pudding was a fanatastic substitute to having bread with the meal 👌🏾
Discovered this local cafe that I had no idea was there till google maps came to the rescue and showed it was across the road practically from our house 🤦🏻♀️
On a Saturday morning they had just released their new menu which contained exciting breakfast and brunch items a little different to the usual hipster fare. I chose to go with the good ol’ avocado on toast which came to the table promptly with crunchy broccoli, silverbeet and walnut spread and a tangy pickled radish. Got to say this is the best avocado on toast I’ve had in Victoria so far! Perfectly balanced and made you want more right to the very last bite. Props to the chef!
The coffee was spot on, and holds up to any Melbourne CBD coffee with the matcha latte just as delicious.
I’ll definitely be returning now that I know it’s there. Only slight downfall was the dirty water glass provided, which I didn’t end up touching. Other than that a definite visit is a must for you foodies out there.
Always a pleasure coming to our local breakfast spot. There is ALWAYS delicious food (get some bacon because it’s amazing). There is ALWAYS friendly staff. And they ALWAYS make great coffee. I’ve never had a problem at this cute and cozy place and I strongly recommend anyone near and far from the area to experience this gem.
Fantastic food, coffee and service! This is just what the area needed. The baristas here do a great job pouring the perfect cup every time, yes I’ve had a few here. The meals are cooked well and plated beautifully with balanced flavours. The reflection from the door is pretty cool on the wall too. Love the decor.
Honestly the best brunch I've ever had. Coffee was amazing, nice and strong. The food menu had so many tempting choices! The presentation of the food was beautiful and it was seasoned perfectly. I got the corn and kimchi fritters with salmon gravlax and pickled zucchini but i definitely need to come back to try out the rest of the menu.
Mad Ram Cafe is a hidden gem located in the outer eastern suburb of Croydon popular with the locals.
The menu is well laid out, grouping similar dishes together under headings such as from the ground, from the garden and from the butcher.
I ordered the Smashed Avocado and Persian Blush smoothie, whilst my sister had the Big Mac & Cheese and Black Forrest smoothie. We finished with the Deep Fried Bau dessert to share.
The smashed avocado was a clear winner! The finger lime provided a burst of citrus flavour, and it was good to see Mad Ram incorporating native Australian ingredients. The Big Mac & Cheese was also another standout dish. We loved how they incorporated the mac and cheese inside the waffle.
I loved the concept of a sweet dessert bao. All the components of the dish worked well together and it was perfect for sharing.
Overall I was highly impressed with Mad Ram. I loved the variety of he menu, presentation of dishes and the friendly service. I rate Mad Ram ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 and highly recommend that you check them out. Thanks very much for having me.
Beautiful people, food, and coffee. Love that they have single origin beans, and a menu that caters for all. Coffee is roasted by Tobys Estate.
Wow!
Fantastic everything. Service, staff, food, coffee, decor, the lot.
The only thing I could say they need, is a selection of fresh juice, as my partner likes fresh juice, but that's a small quibble.
Definitely recommend Mad Ram.

Ambience: very cosy
Coffee: had a soy flat white and it was amazing!
Food: I loved the vanilla coconut chia pudding and the spaghetti on toast was super yummy.
My favourite place for a coffee-and a laugh! Love the decor, love the people and of course live the coffee and food!!! Great loyalty program for coffees too, and the best almond milk latte you can get. Much love guys xo Carla
fantastically friendly helpful staff and service, interesting menu and reasonable prices. location is pretty average and parking could definitely do better other than that excellent experience.
If you like Toby coffee bean lover , please go and enjoy , otherwise please consider other place for coffee. Food is on average , but location is good
A friend suggested Mad Ram as they'd heard good things, and as it's just down the road from me I thought why not. I had the Mad Brekky (big breakfast), and it was quite nice- all tasted fresh and yummy. Only thing though it doesn't come with bread so you have to order it. I didn't myself, but if I had I think it would have been $30 for the breakfast including bread so a bit on the $$$ side. Coffee was good too :)
I stopped in here for a coffee on my way to work. I had some time up my sleeve so decided to have some breakfast - after seeing the decor and also a quick view of the menu I decided it seemed like my kind of place!
The Mad Ram has a really trendy feel to it.
Nice strong coffee, a skinny latte in a large cup - delicious!
Breakfast was awesome. It was called The Fun Guy (a play on the amount of mushies in it I assume!) You can see the chef cooking as the back of the cafe. Perfectly poached egg, delicious crispy kale, so deliciously flavored mixed mushrooms, onion, sitting on some crispy white polenta. I loved it!
Can’t wait to go back and try some other delicious looking menu items.
So stoked, as this was an accidental find.
What a great addition for Mooroolbark! Stopped here for brekkie and wasn't let down! Coffee was great the staff were friendly and the food was delicious....will definitely be back!
> Spaghetti on toast with bacon + fried egg AND Pina colada pancakes with coconut ice cream, fresh berries + pineapple AND Potato hash with bacon, mushrooms, kale + poached egg <
Mad Ram is a very vibrant café owned by two brothers who grew up in the café’s home suburb of Croydon. The staff are really friendly and the service is very efficient and professional. There are constantly people coming in and out for a coffee or brunch and they even have a dog friendly seating area out the front. The menu has an array of unique dishes that make you want to try everything!
The spaghetti on toast really popped on the menu so we had to get it. It is a very unique dish that is surprisingly quite tasty. The spaghetti is holey so it is not too heavy for a brunch meal. The tomato sauce tastes homemade and is really perfect. The saltiness of the bacon worked really nicely with the spaghetti as well as the fried egg, which made the dish more substantial and added an extra pop of flavour to the meal. I would 100% recommend this dish to anyone who wants to try something a little different for breakfast/lunch because the flavours are amazing and the dish is made really well.
The pancakes were another stand out dish for us because who doesn’t like a good pina colada?! Of course it is not alcoholic, but the flavours sure did represent the drink quite accurately. If you’re a fan of coconut, then you have to try this dish because the ice cream is super sweet and there are shreds of coconut mixed throughout. The actual pancakes are quite fluffy so the ice cream just melts perfectly into the pancake. There is pineapple layered between the pancakes, providing the meal with a sweeter flavour, and also making it more substantial. These pancakes are really delicious and a must get when you visit!
The potato hash and mushroom dish just hit the spot for us. The perfect combination of savoury elements mixed into one meal. I love mushrooms so this dish was perfect for me. The hash was quite thick, but it is used as a toast supplement so the lightness of the mushrooms and kale balanced the dish out. The poached egg soaked into the hash so it gave the dish extra flavour and added more to the meal. If you’re in the area and craving something savoury, you need to try this meal!
Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here as the service, food and atmosphere were all incredible!
The breakfastpiggy team
Piggies out, Oink oink 🐷🐷
Will definitely be back here again! Awesome customer service and delishhh food 👌👌
Great atmosphere, feels like a CBD brunch stop over not Mooroolbark! Thanks guys for bringing the city food out East. 😍
For the longest time ever, I’ve wished for a cafe to be within walking distance from my abode. Finally! My wishes are finally granted, and cute little cafe is now just a roll-down-a-hill away. The cafe is beautifully furnished with wooden tables complimented with gorgeous copper stools, and vintage lights hanging from the ceiling. Towards the back of the cafe is a custom drawn ram by the cafes graphic designer, which is replicated at the back of their menus.
Great place to go to for decent coffee. The staff are very friendly and approachable. They spend the time on customer service, which is nice to see.
The food was incredible, beautiful to look at and eat! The price is very reasonable and the dishes in my opinion is worth the money!
I highly recommend visiting this cafe!

All of our food was extremely delicious!! The staff were also friendly. We sat outside but were getting sunburnt and the staff moved us inside without a problem.
The Mad Ram is an amazing little cafe in Croydon but over in the Mooroolbark side. Exceptional food and wonderful coffee. I’ve eaten here so many times& get my coffee from here daily but I’ve only snapped a few photos. Fave dish is the Whipped Avo and also the Pork Benny which puts me in a food coma whenever I eat it. The staff are very friendly, happy and relaxed. Bookings on a weekend are a must as the place is always buzzing.
Love local gems 💚 Lamb croquettes were so yummy. Great menu and lovely service. It was fairly quiet for a Saturday lunchtime so I hope more people discover this cafe. Definitely going back
Was pretty impressed with this local cafe & the menu, the service was a bit slow & no follow up ... so our first coffee arrived & it was amazing so much so I wanted to order another but we could barely get anyone's attention, even after getting up & standing at the till but once our food came we could ask for another coffee, mine was un drinkable & half full of foam ( I ordered a latte) only problem was we couldn't complain as we couldn't get anyone's attention ... our food was tasty though & will be open to a second chance :) but it's fair to say quality is good when they aren't busy.. add some pressure & the small things slip .
Onto more food adventures in the East. Another one of the minimalist style deco which I feel just really need a splash of colour to brighten things up. Easy parking and not too busy on a Sunday, we got a table straightaway. The menu was quite interesting, it took me a while to decide. C ordered the Braised Pork Benedict, and I had the Salmon Gravlax. Coffee was very good here by the way.
We didn't have to wait long for food at all. C's benedict was not bad, just a bit too rich with the sauce and took away some taste of the braised pork. My salmon gravlax was very creative for sure but the flavours didn't match. If you tasted them individually they were fine but not a combo. The burnt miso purée also tasted a bit funky. Definitely a great idea, maybe it just didn't work for me.
Mad Ram is a fantastic little cafe on the edge of Croydon. The menu has a great selection of dishes to choose from and the coffee is always spot on. There is a small tub of toys and books to keep the kiddies busy, as well as some ipads. The staff are very friendly! Mad Ram has a wonderful community atmosphere, my family frequent there often.
Great café real Richmond style, quality service, quality coffee and the food is delicious. The only downfall is the serving sizes. I purchased the whipped avo with egg and for $20 was expecting more then 1 slice of toast and 1 egg. But if being a tight is my only disappointment then you can’t go wrong here, you pay for quality food.
What a amazing spot, welcomed by a gentleman opening the door for us, food was hands down the best we have had in the area, coffee was on point, the shop is beautiful with white and timber. With stunning natural light. These guys have though about everything. A must do for sure. A smart, clean, checky addition to the area, they have well and truly lifted the bar. #youvebeenrammed
Very nice late lunch. Chilli scrambled eggs plus smashed avo. Pot of tea authentic and large sized pot. Prices good and staff friendly. Sour dough bread excellent.
This is the ideal little cafe for someone who wants some atmosphere and some seriously tasty food. I am hooked on their Pork Benedict - who doesn't love the combo of flavoursome pulled pork, poached eggs, hollandaise and a potato hash base?
The first visit, I tried their matcha and melon smoothie, which balanced beautifully - not an easy feat with a bitter and potentially overpowering ingredient like matcha.
The uniquely crafted cold-drip coffee was so good that I forgot that I don't like straight coffee - had a round, rich fruity flavour that was a great end to the meal.
Staff were friendly, and go out of their way to chat with every customer that came through.
If they had open Wifi and power plugs for my laptop, I probably wouldn't leave.
I picked the ‘Quinoa Risotto - roasted cauliflower, sage and truffle oil ($18.00)’. One of my dining companions chose a special, the spicy ‘MFC (Mad Fried Chicken Burger) - crispy chicken cooked for three hours, pickled slaw, jalapeños, chipotle aioli, on a milk bun’
We enjoyed a delicious lunch at this relatively new cafe.
Friendly service and good coffee.
Whipped avocado was really tasty.
Would definitely come back here again.
This must have been a dream! We were in the middle of Croydon when we came across this gorgeous cafe: Mad Ram!
Once we walked in, their floor staff were all smiles and welcomed us in such a warm way that we felt like at home right away.
A quick glance at the menu and we knew that we were in for a brunch treat. Classics with twists and much more waiting for us.
Food arrived and we couldn't believe such high quality that we have already planned a second trip out here!
One word: Sublime!
Must be Hungry approved!
The maddest cafe around the eastern suburbs! Cannot rave about this new slick cafe enough!! Incredible food, immaculate coffee and friendly attentive staff, if I could rate it more I would :)
Awesome food, great fit out, friendly staff. Def my new favorite local. Can't wait to try the whole menu. Coffee was perfect the best in the area by far...
The Mad Ram is a newish, modern smart café, residing in a refitted shop in a small shopping strip in Croydon (and actually not far from Mooroolbark town centre). I visited it on a Wednesday morning, and it was buzzing with people, and quite noisy with people chatter. The décor comprises an off-white colour scheme with a few wall mounted planter boxes, but is otherwise fairly uncluttered. There is an open kitchen toward the rear of the dining space. The tables are solid timber, accompanied by either either a wooden bench or tinted steel chairs and stools, and there are a few kerbside tables with sun umbrellas. I found the menu to be fairly creative, and it included some vegetarian items such as whipped avo, and wild mushrooms with truffled parsnip purée. I had the latter, sans eggs, but with a side of house-made hash browns. This was nicely presented and tasty, though the addition of cold tea on it was possibly unnecessary. No matter. The coffee was very good- the right temperature and strength (by my standards, anyway). I found the service friendly and attentive, if not a touch slow. The ambience was not enhanced by a loud commercial radio station competing with the people chatter, however, it was nevertheless quite a good dining experience.
Pulling up to the mad ram the hashtag on the window made us laugh, i had to wait for my friend to pull herself together before walking in, we were told about this cafe by a client, parking was a breeze and being located behind kfc made it easy for us to find.
The staff at the mad ram were very welcoming, the service was spot on! The food was delicious and well presented and the barista made us the best coffee ive had in a long time. Will definitely be back again
A new cafe in Croydon town and a very nice one at that. Minimalist but with a bit of spunk, it has terrific coffee and a very different menu! We went in a Sunday morning and the place was packed so service was a little slow but that's to be expected. Great staff and a great atmosphere. Will go again soon!
My favourite local. Always a pleasure to visit Mad Ram with their lovely staff. All day breakfast with lunch options as well. Excellent coffee and food. Minimalistic, Scandi interiors are gorgeous and comfy. Outdoor seating is dog friendly. Good serving sizes. Family friendly including a children’s menu.
Our local cafe. We love the coffee and the staff. Consistently great coffee. The food has also always been enjoyable when we've been there. Highly recommended.
Solid coffee using commonfolk beans, and the best breakfast roll I've had in a long time. Bacon, runny egg, hash brown, cheese, and relish on a soft bun, made fresh and speedy. Perfect.
The mad breakfast burgers are absolutely one of my favourite ways to start the day. A breaky burger, Nutella shake and coffee is an awesome breakfast,. I can't recommend them highly enough!! Food is fantastic and the staff welcoming.
Great cafe with excellent food. The dishes are unique and beautifully prepared, with a flavour twist or two. Service was friendly and helpful. What more do you need?
Really great food options and tasty coffee. Spaghetti on toast was lovely (very filling) and the bacon was delicious! A friend had the hash browns and said they were amazing too. We'll be trying more of the menu next time we're in the area.
Had a delicious breakfast there with the Grandchildren and we all loved it. The staff are also great.
Always a great experience when we come here. And they have the best coffee!
These guys have a rotating batch brew and generally good coffee. They use common folk beans and have 4-5 singles origin bags for sale at any one-time. The food is tapas style sharing plates, the chef takes care in his cooking and you can taste it. This is generally a much better cafe then most other places out the back of the eastern subs
