Review The Local Burger Co - Croydon

Derrick
It was only ok, wasn't bad but it didn't stand out as being made memorable. The meat was not cooked medium rare and was towards the medium to well done. So overall it wasn't that juicy.
Bijesh Krishnadas
Their burgers are yummy - a very good patty and a delicious sauce. The ingredients are top notch and the buns hold up well to a takeaway trip. The burgers are filling and well worth the slightly higher prices.

Great tasting burgers and chips, quick service, clean venue, price point is perfect. Highly recommend, one of the better burger places in Melbourne 🍔🍟

Waited 50 minutes on a Saturday at lunchtime with 2 other people in the place for a basic AF mushroom burger. Also had to pay cash because “the POS computer is down”. Don’t come here if you’re hungry. And when it came out it was missing half the ingredients like haloumi and eggplant.

Great burgers and chips. Sit inside or outside and enjoy the breeze. Blankets available if it's cold. Casual and relaxed. Interesting range of unusual drinks. Peach Fanta, yum.

Really really good. Burgers were made quickly within a lot of orders. Tasted amazing and hit every spot of the flavours mentioned while maintaining a certain level of health. Chips were also very good and well paired with the burger. Also a very nice selection of drinks that you don't see everywhere. Staff were nice and friendly.

Pretty good and decently price burgers and nice setting

Awful. Used to come here a lot but walked in today and should have walked out again. All the warning signs were there. The specials menu hadn't been changed in ages. The fridge that used to be full of beer and American sodas was bare except for water and a few of the basics, coke etc. The tables were still turned upside down. And any kind of atmosphere was non existent. The two $14 Classic Beef burgers were of inferior quality to even McDonald's burgers. The tiny patties were dense, dry and over processed. One burger had a whole slice of red onion in it larger than the patty itself, yet was missing the pickles that were ordered and paid extra for. The chips appeared to be supermarket fries deep fried to death. My biggest regret coming here was that I was unable to warn the customers that came in after us that they should turn around and leave. I won't be back.

What happened... this used to be so good?? Now it has stale bread, dry meat and gross filling... I can’t ever go back!

I have been going to TLBC Croydon for over 5 years and have always thought the burgers were the best I’ve had and although there was hiccups after the business had new owners, the burgers were what I was use to. But the last time I went in June 2019 the pattie was a disgusting highly processed pattie that was tough and just awful. I couldn’t finish the burger with the pattie in it. If they keep serving these burgers I guarantee they’ll close their doors in no time. Unless they go back to fresh patties I wouldn’t waste my money. A real shame.

This place used to have fresh, good quality ingredients. No they have meat that tastes like cheap rissoles. I would hope they see these bad reviews and try and turn it around because there is way too many other amazing burger options locally to choose from.
Alister Osborn
Not sure what happened to this establishment but used to be the go to place for burger and fries. Meat patty was sausage, jalapeño fries were chips with melted cheese. Don’t waste your money
Irene
I am truly disappointed with this place. It needs to go. They still have all the certificates and thank you notes from schools etc. from the old owners, but it's not them. They only have one person on all the time. Our order was wrong. The meat is processed and like rubber, it tastes like sausage. Tomatoes old, no onion, little bits of bacon. Our Canadian fries had no cheese and was so much smaller than last time. When I asked for this to be fixed up I just got bits of chopped up cold cheese on top??? Ended up getting a refund, couldn't get that right either. I really hope this place improves or it really will have to go. We've given it a quite a few shots after the owners changed, it was OK for a while but this was just plain wrong, and the last straw. Go somewhere else or just make a burger at home.

Used to be a regular customer but will never return after my experience tonight. Meat patty was so processed it tasted like a supermarket sausage and was so tough you could cut it into little square blocks like a piece of cheese. <br/><br/>Freezing cold inside, empty sauce bottles, half empty drinks fridge. A sad end to a once popular and quality local burger joint.

Absolutely disgusting burgers! This place used to have high quality food, now nothing more than processed, fatty garbage! Chips soggy and not cooked. Woeful service. The table near us sent food back due to allergies and they removed the item, without recooking. Overpriced, poor quality and terrible service! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

Ordered 2 take away burgers and chips on a Sunday arvo. Took 35mins to prepare. Wasn’t overly busy, but there was only 1 person there working which didn’t help. the burger was fairly plain and definitely not worth the wait or price.

Can definitely tell this place is a shell of its former self. It's lovely atmosphere has been decimated to just a few dim lights, and lots of smoke since it appears the rangehood is only turned on when absolutely necessary. <br/><br/>The food isn't terrible, but as a regular customer of TLBC for many years, it's definitely gone downhill. The chilli cheese fries came with minimal cheese, and the chilli sauce was quite obviously microwaved.

Terrible !!<br/>Burgers were edible - just<br/>but that's all the good I have to say, 3 orders, all 3 wrong, 2 were wrong - twice<br/>Tables not cleaned properly<br/>5 napkins in the whole place - we took 3, - from another table, never topped up.<br/>$7 for large bowl of fries, unsalted & crap too<br/>2 salt n pepper to share in the whole joint,<br/>a worn out, almost illegible label on the salt,<br/>to - "be careful it comes out quick"<br/>It's a grinder that the salt comes in, and it's broken, so has regular salt in it... FFS - those ones are $3 @ Coles<br/><br/>$60 for 3 burgers, large fries, 3 cans of coke.<br/>1st and last time I'll be stopping there.<br/><br/>Save your money and go to YOMG in Glen Waverley

Won't be eating here again...<br/><br/>Ordered a $14 chicken schnitzel burger and $6 fries and it was definitely not what we had hoped for. We have been here before and the food is usually great. What you expect when you're paying premium prices, however this time it was far from that. The chips were average and the burger looked deflated and lifeless and when we opened it up there was a stingy lettuce piece, tiny schnitzel patty, cheese and a large amount of sauce, maybe to ad up for the lack of ingredients... <br/><br/>Left feeling ripped off and frustrated!
Anotheronebitesthecrust
I ordered a burger and fries, it was ok but definitely not the best.<br/>The burger was great but the bun was tasteless and too big, the good thing is that they offer the burger without the bread.<br/>The fries were a massive serving for a small but were unevenly cooked. Some crispy, some soggy but they were seasoned perfectly.<br/>Customer service was great from one staff member and completely non-existent from another!<br/>I had heard great things about this place but unfortunately it didn't hit the spot with me.
Jake Keenan
Burgers were good. I wasn't a fan of the sweet potato fries but worth the try. Can't wait to come back. This a regular for us in the office for a quick bite.
John Baade
Extremely disappointed with everything tonight had to wait over 30 mins for my meal, my naked after burn burger didn’t come with the promised side salad nor the jalapeño or traziki sauce.
Jessica Wood
Seems to have changed hands, food quality's not what it was, cheap supermarket buns, limited menu on a Saturday night and overpriced. Also unable to estimate the time needed for takeaway. Very disappointing and won't be returning.

What has happened to this place??<br/><br/>My last couple of visits have been truly awful experiences. A few years ago the burgers here were great. Now they are truck-stop quality but they still want to charge you $10 and upward for one. The fries, once light and crispy, are now cooked to death and inedible. The free condiments are covered in other people's sticky fingermarks.<br/><br/>The level of service has also deteriorated and staff seem to be on high rotation. Today I noticed an ad out the front for the next round of staff, both front and back of house.<br/> On my visit today, instead of taking my order, the girl at the front counter decided that sorting out an I.T. issue was more important than acknowledging my presence. There wasn't even brief eye contact. After being ignored for a few minutes, I left without placing an order, never to return.

The Local Burger Co. provides a welcoming atmosphere with nice burgers. Visiting this establishment on several occasions has provided for mostly pleasant experiences. Burgers are cooked medium-rare unless specified otherwise when ordering (noted on the menu). The "Beef, Bacon and Cheese" burger is my favourite pick of the menu, a good balance of elements providing for a tasteful burger. On multiple occasions the fries were over-seasoned with salt which sadly let the meal down. I would try to avoid the "Cheese" burger as it can be hit-and-miss, sometimes coming out very dry.<br/><br/>Overall, consistency of quality does vary however provided it is a good day for the establishment, there is a pleasant experience to be had.

Been here around 5 times and the food has been amazing, burgers cooked to perfection etc.<br/>However, went there today at midday on Monday with two friends and the overall experience was disappointing to say the least. After 20 minutes of waiting the first burger came out, then 5 mins later the 2nd and then 5 mins later the third and then finally the fries. Eating out with friends normally involves eating together, not receiving burgers at different times so when you start your friend has already finished theirs. The burgers were average to say the least, the beef tasting no where near as good as I remember it. To be honest the staff (only two) just didn't seem to be able to work together efficiently and get the food out in a reasonable time. Hopefully next time I go will be better :)

Love coming here for burgers! They are always delcious and inspired by typical American burgers. Staff are always friendly and match the easy going vibe! Almost like a back yard bbq but brewing up great tasting burgers & chips. Love the selection of different flavors they have. I will be back!🍔
Foodie4Melb
American style burgers done well! Love trying all the different flavours and the sweet potato chips are a must have!! For a great burger stop give these guys a try.
Expensive Delicious Habit.
When more than one friend recommends a burger place, you know you have to try it out!Local Burger Co is exactly what it sounds like- a little burger shop out in the burbs. It's American-themed with lots of interesting soft drinks etc I hadn't seen before. This place is hugely popular with a large following. Lucky for us, on Tuesdays you can get a burger AND fries for only $10- veggie burger included! Speaking of, they have FIVE veggie burgers on the menu, including one vegan burger.
Kevin Nguyen
Lovely Fresh Burgers all round, should also get the sweet potato fries. The prices was very reasonable off the menu. Friendly staff as they welcome your Burger experience. Would defs come back! :)

There ok. More of a fish n chip style burgers just more expensive. <br/>Some people clearly need to try a few other places if there giving it a 5.<br/><br/><br/>

My husband and I finally went tonight after months of talking about it. Being called The Local Burger Co we thought the burgers would be amazing, how wrong we were. We both ordered the southern fried chicken burger and a Canadian fries to share. The chicken was so over cooked you couldn’t tell it was chicken. All you could taste was the coating and that was dark brown almost black and was rock hard. The loaded fries were ok. We are not sure yet whether to go back in the hope the beef burgers are better.
Social Shark
The local burger company provides consistent quality tasty burgers with a touch of local or American drinks from the fridge. <br/>Not cheap but an enjoyable experience trying to keep control of the burger 🍔 <br/>
Ryan O'Shea
Utterly pathetic. No concept of how to serve an order, the new owner needs lessons in politeness, and we won't be back. FFS it doesnt take 45 minutes to make a burger when you've got less than 15 people in the place.
Dog McDogstein
A visit here will make you feel one of two ways, with iconic US brands of drinks and sweets over the counter, the decor can be a little in your face. With a look over the menu, hope builds of a great meal... but was left disappointed with a poor burger... with a dry bun, very oily patties causing the cheese to run, it made for an eating experience that left me disappointed.
DamoForce Food
Pretty solid. It is up and down on occasions but .this visit was good The loaded fries are tasty as and they have a head range of american drinks. The pulled pork is saucy as!!!
Christopher Lee
Very happy with our cheeseburger and bacon burger. Plenty of beer options as well. Super pet friendly.... Millie our dog even got given a beef pattie! Will be back again.

We are regulars and love the Chili Cheese Fries. When we eat in, the service is always friendly and fast. Take away is also very convenient.

My partner and I have been here more times that I can count.Firstly lured in by the burgers, we quickly became hooked on the chips.<br/><br/>That being said the mushroom burger is AMAZING. <br/>I always get it naked due to never being able to finish a burger if I get the bun. My partner often gets the beef & bacon burger.<br/><br/>What we really love though is the chilli cheese fries with the amazing cheese sauce & jalapenos, and the "poutine" which I don't think they call poutine anymore. I think they just call it chips with cheese & gravy. Call it whatever you want, I freaking love the stuff. The gravy is like crack. <br/><br/>I had the salted caramel milkshake once and was pinging off my face from how much caramel was in it. Mad respect for that drink. I can never fit it in, but it had to be tried.<br/>I know some people review the place and say that the burgers are expensive. Well yes compared to your local fish n chips it is. But this is not quite the same type of place now is it? <br/><br/>When I was choosing this area to buy in, places like this made it a really easy decision.<br/>Eating in the suburbs is no longer a boring affair. <br/><br/>Keep it up guys
Vivian
That's a 🍔 place I definitely will be back again. It was recommended by my colleagues for heaps of times. They told me even on weekdays, you have to queue for a table at peak time. That's why I picked a late arvo on Sat to have a non-lunch-non-dinner meal😜. Lucky, no need to queue. <br/><br/>I ordered cheese, bacon and beef 🍔 and my partner got normal cheese one plus smoky bacon. Also big size of sweet potato chips and chocolate milk shake. Total is $40. I have to say the bacon is a must! You won't feel it's too dry but just well cooked , soft and juicy. Medium rare way to get the beef maybe the best way to present this burger. I love the burger but what a pity is I forgot to take pics to share 😝<br/><br/>Anyway, will get pics when I go back that place next time. I want double size plz
Good Food = Happy Mood
A burger joint that cater for all burger lovers with so many options with yummy burgers and fries complemented with awesome thick shakes a must try place
Casey
Underwhelming overall. Burgers were overly greasy, coffee was average. We were impressed by the pizza fries, however, but won't be returning.
Dani Callanan
Don't judge a book by its cover! Small place, but they were able to cater for a group of 20 very hungry people. They had organized a table for us out the back (passed the kitchen). They had outdoor heaters for us, and rugs for everybody. On top of this, they served the most delicious burger I've ever had. Will definitely be back!
My Thats Tasty
Unfortunaly I have had to downgrade my review from a few years ago. The Local Burger Co has ( as everyone has gathered ) changed hands and come crashing down. Poor service, poor quality of food, the delight that was their specials and experimental mixes have gone. Won’t return.

2019 - 2 stars- While the staff member was very helpful, I agree with others regarding the decline of atmosphere, decor, and maintenance.<br/>The chips I ordered were delicious, however the rangehood needed a good clean, and I noticed a rack on it was falling apart.<br/>Feel sad for this business, but a little love can turn it around.<br/><br/>2017 - 5 stars - Love this place! Fantastic chips, yummy burgers, friendly staff (who are great towards kids too). They are very accommodating, and I love the creativity with the menu. We enjoy sitting outside in summer also. Our favourite local burger haunt.
Med
Nice local burger joint!! Great thick yummy shake, the best sweet potato fries and they even cater for people that have allergies by altering the burger components. Also always good and friendly customer service. Large portions- great for a burger feast fix!!

Bestest Burgers in town and happy to do any changes if needed .. went beyond to get us a table on a flat out night which was much appreciated. Magnificent milkshakes and crunchy fries. Great service
William Costin
Good place, quick service, generous portions and awesome milkshakes even for people that are lactose intolerant. They have the hottest sauces you could ever find that you can order separatly off the menu.
Garycoles09
Have always had take away from the LBC. Burgers are great and worth the extra cost over the local fish & chip shop. ..

Great little burger place. <br/>It is a little pricey but i think it's worth it (who eats burgers wkly anyway?). If your a tight ass go on tight ass Tuesdays 🐮 $10. The burgers and chips are massive and yum so it's worth it. Friendly staff. <br/><br/>Remember to ask for well done if you like your burgers cooked through. Their standard is medium.
Stephanie Coad
It may just be me but I feel like burgers shouldn't be served medium rare. If so, maybe some more notice would be good - I wasn't in store while ordering and so wasn't aware, burger was inedible to me. My partner who did eat his burger said it was fairly average also. <br/>Prices a little overpriced also.
April Louise
I went to this place shortly after it opened and was left disappointed with the food- particularly considering the price of it! I recently went back and was pleasantly surprised. They have certainly lifted their game. Still a little pricey for what it is but good enough.
Bec
Sensational burgers, chips & onion rings!!<br/>The buttermilk chicken burger would have to be my favorite burger of all time! So juicy & tasty!<br/>The bolognaise fries or the cheesy gravy fries are to die for & hot & crunchy!<br/>Best onion rings I've ever had.<br/>Shop is very small but also has a few outside tables. Could not believe how busy this place gets but staff are always happy & polite & service is super fast considering how busy they are. Burgers are on the more expensive side but definitely worth it!
Maddie Guscott
The burgers taste soo good, i love the special sauce they use! The sweet potato fries haven’t been cooked properly lately. They used to be amazing but now they’re just soggy. The beef patties are always cooked to perfection, but they always give you the option by asking how well done you like them.

Craving for chips and burger and pizza brought us here. Its located in a quite vicinity. Its a small place but its got a great feel to it. Its more like a cafe that we usually see in movies. Staff was very friendly and there was a cute little dog sitting outside who was a great company.<br/><br/>Burgers were giant. We ordered classic chicken, chickpea burger, louisana chicken wings and sweet potato fries. Fries portion size was big. When it came i thought we wouldnt be able to finish everything(although in the end we did (:)<br/> <br/>Fries tasted great. Chicken wings- my husband felt the sauce was too tangy and couldnt really finish the whole things. Burgers were too dry for my liking. The chicken burger did have ketup to add some moist but the veggie burger had some sauce but too little. So after eating half i found it too hard to finish it coz it was suepr dry ti swallow. Would have enjoyed a lilttle more flavour and moist. <br/><br/>Looks like Huxtaburger(cbd) is still sitting on top of my list for buggers.
David Lee
Great little burger cafe. Ordered the double cheese and it was perfect. The meat cooked medium rare made all the difference in the burger and the fries were very generous in portions. Large fries was easily enough for 3 people. Loved the fact they had the free hot sauces on display and the imported soft drinks. Prices were very reasonable too. Will be seeing you again soon to try out those alcoholic milkshakes!
Doctor HotSauce
Succulent burgers, crispy chips and yummy milkshakes. <br/>I have been to the Local Burger Co. three times now and each time has impressed me with their diverse menu and fast service.
Kyeema
Looks good, sounds good, reads good, great ambiance and easy access. Food comes out like it is slapped together. I have tried several times being local, but it is always disappointing for the price. Better tasting and cheaper burgers elsewhere.
Jonathan Lee
Came here on a voucher so wasn't expecting too much but WOW.<br/><br/>The place is a little bit small but it adds to the friendly atmosphere created by the staff and that feeling of community.  The burgers are really good and the fries are even better (and the portions are generous).  The milkshakes are also pretty impressive!<br/><br/>If I were to go again, I'd probably order: a 'naked' buttermilk fried chicken burger, sweet potato fries and a shake!
Shoo Shoo
Exactly what Croydon needed - an awesome burger place, with a liquor license and is open till a reasonable hour.<br/><br/>I've been here numerous times and also used a Scoupon voucher, which meant it was an absolute bargain. All the burgers and drinks are well priced and parking is pretty easy too.<br/><br/>Tonight we got Old School Cheese burgers ($9.50 each) with pineapple ($1). It was after a late game of indoor soccer, it was the perfect after-match dinner. The service is lovely and food tastes amazing.<br/><br/>I would also recommend the sweet potato fries and/or the peanut butter milkshake. My friend has eaten the chickpea burger and the mushroom burger and both were well supported vego options.

At a quarter to six on a cold Wednesday night in Croydon, there was no one in the shop but the girl behind the counter was very friendly. Ten minutes later the shop was packed with twenty people. The menu of burgers gives a variety of choice which should please everyone. We both had the big burgers and added $2 to our sodas to have them made into lime spiders. The burgers were tasty. A little messy to eat but then that's burgers. We will go back and try something else although I'd be happy to have the big burger again anytime. Overall it's a small s simple cute shop that does burgers very well<br/><br/>We've been back three more times and the quality continues to satisfy and impress.
Leeroy
Tremendous burgers with a unique flair.<br/>Chicken wings are amazing and sweet potato fries and onion rings are the best.<br/>Really original flavours and a must-taste for any burger aficionado. Chicken burger is gold.<br/>Kitchen staff are cool and eager to please and front of house, while young, are well trained. <br/>Do. Yourself. A. Favour.

We came here with 2x Scoopons for dinner on a late Saturday night which was such a great deal for a trendy local burger joint! Just remember to call up and book a table as there is only a small indoor/outdoor dinning area and the place can get pretty busy! <br/><br/>We got the beef bacon and cheese burger and the classic chicken burger with 2 small sides or original fries and sweet potato fries along with a salted caramel and chocolate milkshake and some chive aioli dipping sauce.<br/><br/>The burgers were amazing, presented well on big milk buns, stacked perfectly with the melted American cheese over the thick medium rare beef patty and a knife holding it all together! The hockey burger had the same presentation but we were blown away but the generous serving of chicken in the burger, looked like it was double stacked! <br/><br/>The fries were nice but were lacking seasoning, the sweet potatoes fries were also nice however they were a little underdone and less crunchy but they were super busy at the time and it's not a deal breaker because they were still yum with the house made aioli sauce. <br/><br/>The milkshakes were perfect, a good serving size to accompany the large meal, not overly sweet but just a good combination of malt, flavour and ice cream to wash down that burger.<br/><br/>Will definitely be back, next time we are keen to try the alcoholic milk shakes and the Moroccan lamb burger!
Samuel Leong
Excellent selection of burgers and it's always a big plus for me if there's sweet potato fries on offer! Limited seating inside but being a mild night (for winter) the outdoor seats were suitable. Note: kids-friendly!
CCC
We came here with a Scoopon, which can be hit and miss but it was absolutely amazing! And I will certainly be back and pay the "full price". The staff were very friendly, our food came out very quickly despite it being their busy lunch period on Saturday, and the serves were huge and fantastic quality. For the fellow Pokemon-ers, it also sits on a gym ;)
Rebecca Bowley
The place was surprisingly busy on Sunday afternoon which is always a promising sign. <br/><br/>We had the buttermilk fried chicken burger and the double cheese. Yumm!!! Both burgers were large, the meat was cooked just right and the right amount of sauce. The sweet potato chips were nice and crispy on the outside and great portion size. One thing I really liked was the that the burgers weren't really oily like some other places.
Food
Havnt been here in a few years and popped in today. Sadly looks like ownership change and as such what was once an awesome burger spot is now below par. I used to feel I got great value and the food was made with love. Now the customer service is non existent and the food is fish and chip shop burger quality at a burger place price. Won't be back soon.
Beanie
I love Scoopon and what I love even more about Scoopon is when I get a really good deal for a really great place, and that is what I got with the Local Burger Co in Croydon. For $12 we got a deal where you get a burger, chips and a drink such as a milkshake or house made lemonade.. What a deal!!. The local burger co is a chain of burger restaurants, but you would not know that when walking in. As I hustled my family in out of the rain we were met with a cosy little burger cafe amongst a strip of shops in Croydon. The smell, the chatter and the visuals grabbed my attention straight away and I was eager to try their food.

Worth revisiting ..... one of the best boutique burger joint.<br/><br/>Medium Rare Beef patty, endless supply of hot sauces, good old Milkshakes, old style glass bottle soft drinks, old enamel style plates and the rest is history.<br/><br/>Thanks to the owner for sharing that special "I'm too hot for everybody" sauce, it made my "The Big Burger" even bigger than Texas.<br/><br/>Not quite American style, small but adequately setup Burger Bar, plenty of take-away,  friendly and lots of smiles.
Shane
Great burgers! Lovely chips! Shop is a bit small if eating in, feels cramped and uncomfortable by it's a burger joint so does that really matter? Even if it does, the food more Han made up for it
Sugar_licks
Was working in Croydon when someone suggested a quick burger run, we called ordered and got in the car By the time we drove down the 5 burgers were ready. They look great, and tasted even better than they looked, chips were the biggest serve, staff were really lovely absolutely wonderful burgers
B Amber
Really good food! Got the big burger and it was definitely big! Bit more expensive than other places but quality is pretty good. Actually love this place so much because it does lactose free milkshakes which is the best when you're lactose intolerant.
Drew Bailey
all time favorite burger joint. Late hours are superb for us night owls and the rotating specials keep me coming back all the time. On the regular menu the peanut butter milkshakes and BBQ burgers are the highlights. But any burger from here is insanely delicious (and the range of hot sauce is just amazing)
Ruth Katherine Gibbs
Burgers were good! My husband and I love our burgers so we're pretty picky. We had the classic beef and cheese, smokey bbq and the poutine. We've lived in Canada so we know poutine. The chips were great and they were tasty with the gravy and cheese but the original Canadian one beats it hands down. Beef was juicy and a good size. Buns were alright and the mustard in the plain burger and the bbq sauce in the other overpowered it all. Overall decent burgers and ill go again to try the others but I've had better. Staff were great!
Sandy Blueberries
Had the beef, bacon and cheese burger. This is one yummy burger in Croydon. Patty is juicy and moist, amazing melted cheese and love love love the option of a bun or a salad. And who could resist the maple glazed bacon?
Linnie Eats All The Food
Whilst in Croydon hanging out, I was getting a bit peckish so we wandered around until I laid my eyes on a burger joint - The Local Burger Co. Mr D could not refuse a burger eatery so we marched our way in. It’s really cosy inside and if it’s full, there’s always outdoor seating too. . The specials and drinkies are written on the brown paper on the side of the eatery so you may want to walk over and take a looksie! <br/>I got the beef, bacon and cheese and was told that all beef patties were cooked medium rare which was A-OK by me (that’s the way I love my beef!). When it came out, boy was it GINORMOUS! The beef patty was super tender, the cheddar was all gooey and melted and the bacon was super crispy which didn’t really tickle my fancy. I did find the burger to be a tad dry and a bit more sauce was needed and the bun was a tad hard as well. Overall, awesome beef patty and beautifully presented.
Chompsta
Nestled in the meth riddled wasteland of Croydon is this little gem. Thankfully the local scunge of the area do not attend this eatery as their appetites are far too diminished for the wouthwateringly decadent burgers LBC has to offer. juicy beef. crispy bacon. gooey cheese. awwshiet dey got dat good. best enjoyed blazed af
Lara
Burger was juicy and cooked well however it had no seasoning so it didn't have much taste to it. Overall pretty bland.<br/>The bun was so dry as well. (Maybe from the day before?) <br/>Chips also cooked well but again need some more flavour/ seasoning. Probably won't be back
The Brunch Club
love it! sick menu :) not bad prices and great food, nice staff. just a small venue with not many seats. can't wait to go back and try all the hot sauces

Decided to try this place out in my mates area!! Its nice & quiet when we went, a nice lil spot. I ordered the beef bacon cheeseburger, small chilli cheese fries & some hot chicken wings!! The burger was not too bad, only thing I didn't like was the maple syrup bacon which Im not too familiar with for taste.(maybe Im just not use it yet) the fries were delicious, the chicken wings had way too much sauce covering the wings, it just overpowered the chicken & wasn't really that great of a deal. I personally wouldn't recommend it!!
Young Couple :)
Why would you go to McDonalds when you can go here! Yummy burgers, cool vibe and awesome selection of soda's :D Was slightly confused why there was a waiter in a area as big as my lounge room, the small space wasn't a problem to me at all however. :)
The Don
The place deserves much more respect. A simple no frills menu and most importantly awesome burgers!. Not full of grease like other joints. Don't have kids but the kids menu must be handy for families.

Delicious juicy burgers, I'm sure they pack a few calories but if your gonna eat a burger this is the way to do it in style.  The beef paddies are just so juicy & are a generous size,  putting many burger joints to shame.  The chips are up there with the best of them<br/><br/>Inside is a cool vibe with various interesting memorabilia makes you feel like your on the set of happy days.  Perfect hang over lunch.
Ash
Visited this place on a Sunday for lunch, friendly service and tasty burgers. Accompaniments however could use a little work, the plain chips and the sweet potato chips could use a little work. Great variety of imported soft drinks. I had the crispy chicken burger and my partner had the bbq beef burger. Mine was tasty yet huge and his meat was cooked correctly but he thought there was a bit too much bbq sauce. We will be back to try more varieties of burgers.

Tries to be "artisinal", replete with menus on brown paper written in Texta.<br/><br/>Service was good, with the food arriving in a couple of minutes.<br/><br/>I had a pulled pork burger and chips. The buns had too much sugar in them and were not toasted. This made them dry and crumbly like day-old Maccas. The pork I suspect was only moist because the overly-sweet sauce was mixed in with a 1:1 ratio. The rest of the ingredients were fine and fresh. I think this should be labelled as a dessert.<br/><br/>The chips were fine and hot, although I would have expected a place that was "edgy" enough to put the chips in a burger box would have seasoned them with more than lumps of salt.<br/><br/>This with a drink set me back $23. Twenty. Three. Dollars. A one-time experience for me I'm afraid.

Burgers are always tasty and quite filling, especially served with chips which are just as delicious. The milkshakes which come in a range of flavours including peanut butter are the reason I come back, as are packed with flavour and creamy.

"Gotta Get Dem Burgers"! Delicious burgers and sides in the local area. I like their specials options which give a variety of different and exotic burger combinations. Staff attentive and friendly. <br/>

My favourite burger place ever! Just love this place, no where compares. Always such tasty, flavoursome meals and the chilli fries are the best thing ever! Can't recommend enough!

Smoky BBQ Burger was quite tasty with an appropriate amount of barbecue sauce. The burger patty itself was cooked medium rare and good quality, however the temperature of the burger needed to be a bit hotter. Fries with Cheesy sauce and jalapeños were also quite nice, but again not hot enough

I ordered the mushroom burger, it came with an eggplant relish, cos lettuce, cheese & shrooms. It was ok, but really nothing great. I also ordered sweet potato fries- they were good but should have come with some sort of dipping sauce.

I've had a lot of burgers recently, to try out different places, I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised for a tiny little place they make a mean burger, and an awesome milkshake with some funky flavours, nice and quick as well we will be back

Great food, well cooked, excellent flavour combinations. I was very impressed by the menu, Specials board included.<br/>The only criticism I have is that some of the servings are far too big. The kids cheeseburgers are as big as the other burgers, just with less filling. And the amount of chips served was overwhelming. <br/>Friendly staff, fast service, great atmosphere.<br/>Highly recommend.

Amazing burgers. Essentially anything with their maple bacon will taste good. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and had provided great service.

Only went to the dock lands store which is currently closed down but basically I just couldn't accept the fact that the Bbq burger been too generous with Bbq sauce and I can only taste the sauce but not anything else.

Very disappointing. Read the reviews and was ready for a good meal. Bit into my chicken burger and it was flavourless AND VERY undercooked, pink & juicy as if it was on the grill for 5 seconds. Glad I checked so I didn't get sick! Chips soggy & tasteless. Could have made a better burger myself, waste of time & money! Overpriced.

Normally love this place but the last two visits have been a little disappointing, both times due to items listed on the menu not actually being in my burger when I got home to eat it. The first time I was thinking, "ok it's busy, easy enough to make a mistake", but two times in a row...? Seems like it's gone down hill a bit since they first opened.

Amazing!<br/><br/>The best onion rings I have ever eaten!<br/>Burgers were big!<br/>Bit of a wait on food and could only sit outside but overall would certainly go back!

Been to a handful of times. Burgers and fries are always fresh and delicious, meat seems to be always medium rare which is perfect. No complaints other then the shop size :)

Got the old school cheese and a "small" fries on the way to work Friday evening. The small fries was a burger box chock full of fries! Can't imagine how big a large one would be. The burger was delicious and the service was speedy and friendly. I'll be back soon to work my way through the menu.

This place is amazing. Truly an American-style burger shop. Love, love, love.

Regret it!. Came in for burger, chips and drink after hearing they did gluten free options. Cost me $27 for lunch. <br/>I was so annoyed, i would have had lunch at a nice establishment for $27. I hoped that it would be amazing, but the mushroom burger was horrible. <br/>Grill'd do a much better job and are half the price.<br/>Won't be back.

Very disappointed. Servers didn't crack a smile all night, my burger was ho hum and the chili cheese fries where underwhelming. AND they used plastic fake cheese. Not a fan. The place was busy though so the burgers here must appeal to some people.
Hello
Very disappointing. When it comes to burgers I'm extremely easy to please. I try a new melbourne burger place almost weekly and never really have anything bad to say ever. I decided to make an urbanspoon account simply due to how poor this burger was. Long story short, if you like burgers don't go here. Really poor burger and hugely overpriced.

Really dissapointing. If you like burgers dont go here. Not to mention extremely overpriced.

Very good but a bit too expensive now. It takes a lot for a hamburger to excite me and this place manages to do it. The bacon cheeseburger is my favourite, and the mushroom burger is surprisingly nice if you're in the mood for a meat-free alternative.<br/><br/>I used to visit on a somewhat regular basis on my lunch break, but a few months ago they hiked the prices across most of the burger range. The prices went up $1.50 or $2, and while that doesn't sound like much, that represents like a 15%-20% jump. Once the cost of lunch gets up around the $15 mark that really puts me off. Just a psychological thing I guess but it's turned it into a "sometimes" food. <br/><br/>Possibly unfair criticism when compared to similar places such as Grill'd, but then Grill'd's usually have sky-high shopping centre or main street rents to pay and this place doesn't.
