Great first time visit. Everything was delicious. Custard donut was fresh and soft, filled with real custard!
Croissant was fresh from the oven and buttery soft with a smooth almond meal filling that was perfectly subtle and balanced! Loved it!
The staff were super friendly and served us promptly. Seemed like a very popular cafe that I intend to go back soon to to try their all day breakfast menu! Recommend going!

Zelenas have never failed to impress me with their friendly staff, excellent coffee and modern cosy atmosphere. Sitting in the booths are my favorite and perfect for business meetings.
Zelena’s is a great place to have a solo coffee or meet your friends for a tasty dining experience. I’ve been here over 100 times over the last 2.5 years and can attest to the consistently high quality food and friendly service. All my street coffee/brunches are held here and everyone enjoys the experience. I also appreciate the easily digestible Jersey milk they use for coffee. It’s hard to find that locally. I keep coming back because it’s so friendly and the food is tasty. Come and see for yourself.
I asked for a toasted Ham and Cheese sandwich - not seeing it on their menu and yet they gladly and swiftly did one for me with a Cappuccino. Thanks for the speedy and cheery customer service!
Very clean professional modern Italian environment .We all felt at home for mums birthday bash , well priced for the 1 class food tasty and beautiful such ,a lovely owner who is very thoughtful in all she has done here and all to make us love this place all the more . Stopped in for breakfast this afternoon (that’s just how we roll) and have to say the service was fantastic. The owner was welcoming and personable, even graciously putting up with our last minute change of order.
The food was good, although needed more seasoning but very generous and tasty (big breakky and chicken sliders) and the coffee was nice too!
The cakes looked delicious and we’ve taken some home - yet to try but suspect they’ll be lovely!

Amazing selection of cakes, pastries and biscuits. Don’t go past the freshly made Greek doughnuts. Fresh batches are made throughout the day. These doughnuts are very different to the stodgy heavy dry Greek doughnuts that I have tried at other cafes. These are soft yeasty doughnuts with lots of air bubbles. Best eaten fresh. This cafe is a surprise find. The cafe has a fresh clean feel. There is a heated outdoor area but we chose to sit indoors on a cold and windy morning. We came in for coffee and cake after breakfast at a nearby cafe. Very impressed with the setup and menu. We made up our mind to visit again to check out their breakfast offerings.
Great for a sit down breakfast, but $20 Min EFTPOS makes it no good for grabbing morning take away coffee. Will certainly eat there again, but will go elsewhere for quick coffee and cake on the run.
Had breakfast here with the family . Staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant was insta worthy. The venue itself is quite large and has outdoor seating. There wasn't much variety to the menu ie) basic egg, avo, bacon. However i did love the option of the breakfast for two which had a smorgasbord of everything you could want for breakfast. The price was really good for the portion sizes (very large).
Another addition to the bustling and ever-changing landscape of Main St in Croydon. Trendy, quiet & with a huge menu that caters for all. Top quality brunch place - and bang for your buck. There are cakes and treats galore & they have recently have opened for dinner too!
Zelena’s Big Breakfast matched its name: even a big boy, I got nowhere near finishing it. Great poached eggs & smoked ham to die for. The fruit salad was fresh, crispy and quite good. Coffee is nice, smoothies are better. Defs one of the best in Croydo!!
I attended Zelenas on a Saturday morning. The service was warm and friendly. Brandon the floor supervisor was attentively monitoring all tables to ensure efficient service, which was really impressive. The other floor staff were also excellent.
The venue is clean and modern with a welcoming vibe.
My food arrived promptly and all ingredients were fresh. The meal was under seasoned, but that is the way I like it.
In summary, Zelena is unpretentious and friendly, providing honest food and good service.
The owners of this venue should be proud of the welcome addition to Croydon.

Went to Zelena's Cafe in Croydon for a dessert and a hot chocolate and was really happy I did. It's a classy looking place with a wide range of very tasty looking desserts. I ordered the orange mousse which tasted so good it just melts in your mouth. Rich, creamy, sweet, zesty, orangey (my new word for the day) with chocolate undertones and garnished with flaky bits of chocolate and orange. So. Good. Hot chocolate was nice. Staff were great.
After reading some of the other reviews I'm coming to the conclusion that most of the 1.0 star reviews are fakes because there are no photos i.e. no evidence. Why should we believe you if you have no proof? Take your word for it? You must be joking... after all, this is the Internet. :)
So that little aside aside I just want to say that my experience at Zelena's was positive and awesome and I'd definitely go back to try some of the other desserts or maybe other things on the menu.
Gorgeous place. Staff we're great, quick, friendly and on the ball. I got the french toast which was absolutely delicious. Great coffee. Definitely coming back soon.

I recently went to Zelena to try their breakfast and I was ecstatic to find the best cafe in Croydon! Service, portion and ambience were all above any standard I had expected. Not only were we indulged in excellent service, the prices were AMAZING! Do yourself a favour - order the hollandaise with any egg-based dish. It’s to die for!

This is a must visit in Croydon. Nice, clean and friendly staff. Food was fantastic and very accommodating to our puppy. My Partner and I ordered Zelena’s Big Breaky for 2 and it was incredible. Excellent portion sizes and everything was perfect. Will 100% be returning!
Came here for coffee and cake between things today and was pleasantly surprised. Lots of staff on the floor so service was attentive. Good selection of cakes, coffees were a bit hot but nice (though slow to arrive). Looking at other diners showed decent portions of the savoury food options (though I did hear a grumble of slow service on that as well). Looking forward to coming and trying brunch at some point.
I've eaten at this place a number of times. The decor is beautiful industrial style with a very European fit out for the pastries featured in glass cabinets. The owner, Maria I believe her name is has consistently been very welcoming every time I've entered the cafe! Staff have always been extremely attentive particularly with replacing the water which is a nice touch. The food has been consistently delicious and well portioned, often really big portions. I agree that the coffee isn't the best on the street but I still enjoy it! I will continue to dine here and recommend you do the same!

Service was great, food amazing, drinks a vary wide variety. Only negative was the back of the cafe was a little cramped with a small walk way.

A lot of the reviews here sound like sour grapes. As someone that has visited countless establishments around the world, and personally visited Zelena Cafe more than five times now, I can honestly say that this place is amazing and well worth a visit.
The food is fresh, tasty, well-presented and generous. Pricing is average for an establishment of its kind (anyone that has visited similar style cafes/restaurants in Melbourne will agree)- neither cheap nor expensive. The cakes and sweets are to die for, made by a pastry chef from Greece. The big breakfast is one of our favourite dishes to order; bountiful and great value. I highly recommend trying the chicken burger (wow!) and loukoumades (Greek doughnuts), which are made fresh each morning. Quality coffee and a lovely selection of wines is a great thing too!
The decor is modern and classy. Chairs are comfortable, so you will likely find yourself here for a while ;) . It's not too loud, so it's a great place for a catch up and chat with friends.
It does get busy. Yesterday (Tuesday) we were there at 11am and it was almost full- so they must be doing something right!!! Even though it's busy, we were seated promptly, by well-organized waitresses with headsets. It's normal to wait a few minutes for service! It's normal to wait 10 minutes for drinks; normal to wait a bit more for food! I have never been to any reputable restaurant where my drinks and meals have been served at lightning speed (actually, is be suspicious of pre-prepared food if they were).
So my final word is: give it a go. You won't be sorry. We don't even bother driving to the CBD or inner suburbs in search of Euro treats and great coffee anymore, since Zelena is basically at our doorstep now.

Very nice change from what is traditionally croydon, great venue, good music and quality service.
Food wasn't to bad, enjoyed the chicken Parma $23 with a side of gravy but only comment would be the heavy handed dressing on the salad.
Certainly come back and give this place another go.

Arrive today around 11.30am. We weren't booked in but we were seated quickly. It was extremely loud and the people at the table beside you were basically yelling so you could hear each other, therefore your conversations are not private.
I had bacon and scrambled eggs with grilled tomato. The bacon was very greasy. Price was ok.
Zelena's is the Park Hyatt of Croydon Main Street. A piece of luxury in the heart of Croydon. Seeing is believing. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try a new local cafe, the pastries and treats make having a coffee done right.

We have been to Zelena's twice now and the food was absolutely great. A very good and friendly environment and we especially liked the creative food choices. The children couldn't get enough of the cakes either.....5 stars

I had a breakfast with my family in zelena, the food presentation was amazing and they made it fresh, 'hash brown'. Both price and quality are reliable.
I am currently employed by Zelena and am thoroughly enjoying my time here. I get paid well and fort nightly without fail. We are all granted the breaks we need with food as well during our shifts. A few weeks ago I was injured and couldn't work so I called my manager with no fuss - I had the all the time off I needed with no pressure. I certainly feel cared for.
I invite you to come to Zelena, see for yourself how happy the staff are, try the food (ZELENA BIG BREAKKIE IS INCREDIBLE and my personal fav) and check out our funky space. We have a great many regulars already and even more delighted customers daily - it's a shame they don't all use Zomato. Please don't be swayed by these poor reviews but form your own opinion once you have tried it for yourself.

My family loves to eat here, every sunday great place to have a brunch. They provide the best service, quality food and Friendly staff. Fresh bread and pastries everyday. I highly recommend Zelena. Try it and see for yourself. Keep it up Zelena Team.
Best burger ever fresh and not frozen unlike in other restaurant here frozen burger with huge amount of additives. My friend also try a big platters good for four person for less than $20 each to chip in. Definitely come back to this place.
Amongst reading all the negativity from other people's reviews I would like to add a positive note. I have been to this family owned cafe a numerous about of time and every experience has been a fantastic one ! The management is well organised and share a high passion and standard for the food and services they provide for the community! I would like to express my opinion on two important aspects.
Staff: The staff of this Restaurant are very friendly and welcoming when heading in the door for your daily coffee or a bite to eat , they are always bubbly and apologetic in busy periods ( we all need to appreciate these people as just like all the critics we are all human ).
Management: The owners are very generous and amazing people. I witnessed an error during a busy period with another customer and how they handled the situation was very professional so hats off to them for running a successful business.
