Review Sofia's Pizza House - Croydon

Had a lovely meal at Sofia's last night after trying our local pub who couldn't take walk ins because they were under staffed (which is understandable at the moment). Food was great and staff were attentive, even though they were under pressure. I could see the staff having to handle difficult customers (who may have just been having a bad day), but they were professional and fair. Big shout out to the manager who handled it all. I would recommend Sofia's and will definitely be returning for another meal.

Quiet after covid. Eat in or take away. Our favourite local for pizzas. Above average. Got take-away again yesterday. Pizza and a calamari side. Both excellent. Not sure what is going on with the prices but suspect that like some other places they may have increased a little. No prices displayed on the in-store menu boards (see photo) and the over the counter price seemed to be about $5 higher than the online prices suggested. Can't be certain about that but if it is the case I don't begrudge them. Food still great.

Good quality and value basic Italian style food, loads of choice and generous serving sizes. Friendly staff and fast service.. Big place so not much atmosphere. Great for a group. Loads of parking space.

Maybe I ordered wrong but my seafood basket was all fried. Over fried. Could not bite through the overcooked batter!!!

Food was good. Service was really slow even though there was only 2 other families there. Had to wait an hour for a bowl of gelato that was actually just ice cream, even though they brought out all the others half an hour beforehand. And the young lady working there was rude as hell and kept rolling her eyes at the 2 kids under the age of 2. Only went there for a birthday and glad food only cost $50 total cos I wouldn't wanna give them another cent

Lovely place. Lots of room, friendly staff and amazing food. I love coming here with my family because the menu has something for everyone and my brothers stay entertained with the play ground while we wait for the food. I usually get the Hawaiian pizza, but last time I got the fillet steak with mushroom Sauce and it was absolutely divine. I definitely recommend it. We have come here many times and will definitely be coming back again!

A little message for the wicked old Witch of the East (the older grumpy waitress)... it is NOT OK to manhandle and be rude to your staff! Disgusting behaviour and you should be gone asap. That said, always great food and the cute little indoor play equipment is a big plus. The young service team are friendly and lovely. Out with the old please.

Owner was angry at us for not making a booking. I came with my parents for lunch on Saturday. When we stepped in, and the owner noticed us, she asked us whether we had made a booking. When we said no, she was visibly frustrated and her response was, “What’s the problem with everyone?” She proceeded to sit us, reluctantly, and told us angrily that “We need to be patient,” even though we hadn’t said anything at all. The only words we’d said since entering the restaurant was “A table for three, please.” I’m not sure, but I feel like not making a booking at a restaurant isn’t a crime; and if there were no tables available (though at the time only 3-4 of over 30+ tables were occupied), we would have been happy to have been turned away. I’m not sure why we were treated with such vitriol, but nevertheless I wish the owner the best with her business and hope that she can learn to treat people with kindness and respect.

Thank you for your vegan menu. I was going to finish my meal with the tropical gelati but I was so full. All delicious and such lovely, friendly service. I've driven past so many times and thought about visiting. Your vegan menu gave me the perfect reason to finally dine with you. :)

Had a great meal today with the family at sofias the service was top notch and very attentive i would recommend to come eat some good italian food.

THE nicest maitre d I've come across in a restaurant months! Where other establishments wouldn't take my booking or wanted to charge function prices, Sofia's had no problem booking for 25 people. Nothing was too hard and service was good. Food was generous in portion size and tasty. Well priced menu. Galati stack seems like it defies gravity. Thanks for a special night.

Fabulous food, great service and run by great people. We had a party of 14 + a baby and they couldn't have been better. Good kid's playground, great choice of food for kids and their meals include a drink, ice cream and an activity pack. Perfect for a family lunch.

I arranged a surprise birthday dinner for my hubby and your staff were so accommodating it made the evening very enjoyable. There was no trouble for me to bring balloons and no trouble bringing a cake. The waitress lit the candles and bought it over for us. I loved how everything was easy and the kids play area is fantastic. You guys are great for a carefree evening. Thanks so much ��

I have been going there for about 3 Years . Staff are always friendly and the food sizes are very generous and quality is great. I would recommend any family gathering at Sofia.

Every time we go to Sofia’s Croydon the food is always amazing. We are always met with fantastic service and there is always a warm smile on the hostess’s face to greet us at the door! I would strongly recommend trying this place out if you haven’t already done so. Happy eating ��

Dropped in with the family for a pizza, got a sofias special...let me just say if i could rate it a 10 i would. Will definetly be back with the boys and our dads next time.

Got told about the great family atmosphere and service at Sofia's and had to drop in to see if it was true. I wasn't let down at all. Best pizza I've had in a long time! I would highly recommend it. The sauce was outstanding!

The quality of the food and staff service have really gone downhill. I think if you are in a big group they make the extra effort but if there is 2 of you a different story altogether. We used to love the place pity though.

What wonderful service for a big group dinner of 28 people! Usually venues try to charge outrageously per person, but not Sofia's! Nothing was too hard, the staff were so friendly and accomodating of us, we could all pay individually, meals came out fast and are massive servings, I think we all went home with a container! Will definitely be going back! Thank you Sofia's!

Wow! I'm pissed off I have to leave 1 star! No tap beer, hasn't worked for two years I was told. My polo New York came in a swimming pool of sauce. Advertise kids play area, oops, only for under 5 year olds! $75 for the family, McDonalds next door is the clear winner!

Had a birthday booked for a Monday night. Service was exceptional, food was lovely. Indoor play area great for the kids.

HORRIBLE customer service from owner! Absolutely disgusted! Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service from the owner! Went in for a nice lunch for mothers day, 4 meals come out very quickly but we then had to wait for an HOUR for the remaining 4 meals to come out after asking a waitress where the food was! When we spoke to the manager about the issue she was very blunt and extremely rude about the matter! We had to continuously ask for the 4 late meals to be taken off the bill. After successfully getting $50 off the meal! She told us never to return and proceeded to harass us. As we where leaving she chased after us to then harassed us AGAIN!! This is the the WORST experience I have ever had and feel sorry for anyone that decides to go to that restaurant.

I've have never been so uncomfortable as the manager Mary abused and berated her staff constantly in front of us. The poor staff were doing a fine job.<br/>I asked her to stop and she proceeded to give me a character assassination of the staff member in question.<br/>Mary is the very reason we will never return.<br/>Won't support a business who actively engages in workplace bullying and harassment.

I seldom write a review but I must voice out the bad service. <br/><br/>I order *Pescatore* from them but it come out nothing was there only noodle and sauce inside the lunch box. ( are you guys serious?). <br/><br/>They said I need to mention seafood pescatore then just can can have all the seafood etc inside. Best chicken and mushroom risotto we've come across this side of town. Rich and creamy with beautiful flavors. Generous sizes. Entree garlic prawns had a whopping 16 prawns in it. Again creamy and delicious. Would go back.

Pizza’s aren’t too bad! The inside seating is pretty basic, staff can also be hit and miss and the food is average to what you’d expect from a Sofia’s chain.

So much better than the other Sofia’s. Portions are huge, but the food made with love. Nice clean restaurant with friendly staff. Initially I was worried when it was quiet empty, but I’ll def be back!

Unfortunately this place isn't tasty at all. They just add loads of cheese like the Americans and give you good that has zero flavour. It is a review for the whole chain and not just this franchise.<br/>

Very disappointing this evening 28/12/18.Ordered spag Bolognese. Not sure what actually came out. Little meat in it and was inedible. Not sure what they put in it. Never tasted like this ever before. I ate here about 8 years ago, but the flavours are so vivid I can still taste them today! I like Sofias because they treat my pasta like a farmer treats their livestock; bulk it up for a person to eat it later. Favourite dish was the spaghetti Bolognese mmm yeah just lika mumma used to make. Close second was the garlic bread, which met my expectation of having both bread and garlic in perfect sync. Overall this italian gastronomy mecca blew the pants off my legs 8/8 will be back in 15 years x

Had a very disappointing experience here last Sunday. Came for dinner and explained to the waitress twice that I could not have dairy due to an intolerance. She went to kitchen and came back to reassure me what I wanted to order (lamb souvlaki with salad) had no dairy and to follow my requirement no cheese would be put in the meal. <br/><br/>When my meal came not only did it have cheese all over the salad that I had to avoid but also a dairy based sauce. <br/>This makes me very worried about people who are highly allergic to<br/>Foods and restaurants like this clearly don't consider their customers serious requests. <br/><br/>For entree we ordered oysters and found something that looked like plastic in one. <br/><br/>Very disappointing. Especially when there's another Italian restaurant next door.

Generous servings but unfortunately its quantity over quality at this restaurant. We ordered two pastas for pick up and they were overly salty and took and unreasonable time for pick up.

Food & service AAA+++. Awesome family restaurant. My large family & I eat there regularly and the service and food is always fantastic!! Just this weekend passed we had a 6oth Birthday in the function room and we could not fault the service or food. Generous servings of deliciousness and wonderful ambience. Mary at the front counter is a very dedicated, caring, efficient, generous and friendly host and Sofias is very lucky to have her. Thank you once again xx

Came here for dinner on the weekend with some friends. We were seated promptly and our orders were taken, however our drinks took a long time to come. We ordered a bowl of chips, two pastas and a pizza. Our pastas were brought out ten minutes before the pizza which resulted in one of us not having a meal for that ten minutes. One pasta (fettuccine) lacked bacon and Parmesan and did not taste great. The gnocchi however was very soft and nice. The carbonara sauce was average. However the serving size was generous. The pizza was slightly burnt and also did not taste great. We had two staff and one was very lovely and attentive and the other was quite unpleasant. Overall disappointed and would not come back.

Quantity over Quality, is that they way to go? .... <br/><br/>Well, it's another franchise food, that's having issue with serving quality over quantity.<br/><br/>Quality will always win in the end, despite its size; venue and portion, the quality of their Pizza and Pasta is not there. Their Pizza is way better than Pasta.<br/><br/>Must remember, Melbourne is richly bless with many Italian restaurants, if you are setting one of, make sure it's authentically yours and you want to make sure that patrons will want to come back for more.

I can only judge on my meal tonight and it was delicious we got pepper steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and extremely tender!!! Even the sauce and chips and salad where great and you can't go past Sofia gelato!!! Went in expecting the usual 3/5 for Sofia but was raving about dinner and service friendly too! Keep up good work :)

The food here is fairly good, standard what you would expect at a Sofias. The wait staff are always really friendly but the people who are at the cash register are always quite unfriendly and make you feel like you're bothering them if you want to take some gelato to take home.

We were going to go next door to la porchetta but it was absolutely empty so we looked over here and saw a few cars and thought we would give Sofia's a shot.<br/>We had the Fishermans basket and the salt and pepper squid. The food was a very large serving however the Fishermans basket was all deep fried and oily. The squid was a little chewy and not cooked the best but there was plenty of food.

Great value,delicious italian food and freindly service. We celebrated my wifes Birthday at Sophias tonight.<br/>My wife had read some recent blogs about the resturant ,so we went there with an open mind.<br/>The staff and manager were extrememley freindly and to our suprise we received a free bottle of sparkling white as it was her birthday,bonus.<br/>Being an italian resturant we thought the serves may be generous and they didn't let us down.<br/>One of friends had the chicken parmigana,it was a massive piece of succulent breast topped with a thick layer of sauce and melted cheese.Our friends eyes lit up and he commented ,i'm wrapped i didn't eat afternoon tea.<br/>the kids meals were fantastic value ,my small seafood pasta was delicious and on the large side .we finished with 1 serve of strawberry gelati,that was enough for three of us to share. .I managed Mc Donalds resturants when i was younger and the cleanliness of Sophias is top notch.So overall we fed a family of 4 with a delicious 3 course meal each, a couple of beers for me, some bubbly for the birthday girl and a pizza to take home for $80 .to me thats fantastic value for money and we'll definately go back.Keep up the great work mary.cheers innes and family

A Family restaurant with Family prices. We have frequented Sofia's at Croydon for a family night out multiple times in the last year. Although not gourmet food, you get good amounts for a very reasonable price. In fact you would be hard-pressed to get a 2-3 course meal for our family anywhere else for this price. <br/>The waitresses have always been attentive & the owner manager always greets us with a smile. Children's meals always come out first - usually within 10 mins of ordering. My kids usually enjoy the new kids area which the owners have obviously spent a lot on in the last year - updating the toys and providing glass walls so that behaviour can be monitored. <br/><br/>The only downside I see is other diner's children & their raucous behaviour. I was appalled on my last visit to see parents threaten management with a bad online review when asked to supervise their children because they were damaging toys & harassing other children. I guess you can't always believe what's written online. Having said that, this has only happened once in the last 5 times we have visited. <br/><br/>Thanks for a wonderful night out Sofia's Croydon and we'll definitely be back!!

Weekly Diners. We come every Tuesday night for dinner and love every meal we have had. The Manager is wonderful and very friendly (nothing is a problem for her). The waitress and very very pleasant and always have a smile on their faces and the food the very reasonable and very tasty. Never had a bad meal. Great kids area that is spotless and great area because you can see children behind the glass. Highly recommend. Try you wont be disappointed.

We love sofias. We go to sophia's every week and really enjoy the food and good service, the restaurant is always spotless and mary the manager makes us feel very welcome, my little boy loves her! we like the playground because it is safe for little children

Disappointing. Sofia's restaurant has a very nasty manager! She is a mean lady and told my kids to behave when they were being well behaved to begin with. After I complained she realised it was different kids mucking around not mine. She thought she could make it better by giving them a crappy magazine! Not coming here again!

Nasty manager. Tonight the manager very rudely told my two children off while sitting in the playground. It was a case of mistaken identity as I was watching them them the entire time. <br/>My children were in tears not knowing what on earth they had done. <br/>We had to leave before dessert and coffee as they were too afraid. Shame on you Sofia's!<br/>Ps our waitress was lovely and very apologetic.

Disappointing. Unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed. Pizza tasted like cardboard, pasta was very average and the kids meals looked like a microwaved mess. The kids area was dirty and dusty too.

My friend and I went here for lunch and it was a terrible experience. The pasta was soggy and the sauce tasted like it was from a jar, no flavour at all. It was inedible. I couldn't get the attention of the wait staff to tell them the fish was terrible as they all stayed far away and didn't make eye contact. It was like they knew they'd just served me dog dung and didn't want to deal with the repercussions. We were the only two diners in the restaurant. No contact person to write a complaint. A terrible excuse for a restaurant, do yourself a favour and stay well away!

If you want blocked arteries, then Sofia's in Croydon is the place to go!. Me and my family found ourselves on that side of town and decided to try something new. Being an Italian restaurant would appreciate good food. From the time we got there , we experienced appalling table service - despite the restaurant not being busy.<br/>Dishes arrived in dribs and drabs<br/>My soup arrived and tasted as if it was straight out of a can- all I could taste was SALT<br/>after sending it back, I just sat and watched everyone eat around me <br/>no replacement arrived so my partner cancelled my order<br/>My daughter didn't get her drink and had to flag down a waitress several times before getting it<br/>My son's pizza arrived as 2 small pizzas instead of a large that he ordered<br/>waitress expected us to accept it and she said ran out of large pizza base - yet there was hardly any one in the restaurant<br/>Pizza tasted rubbery and SALTY<br/><br/>To top it off, when we asked for food to go as thought it was a gr8 meal for my dog, Waitress hands my daughter a box expecting her to pack it .<br/><br/>Disgusted to say the least<br/>Waiting staff need to be re trained in "Customer Service"

Family Celebration at Sofia's Croydon. I would like to recommend Sofia's Croydon for a family celebration. I had never been to a Sofia's before. We went there last night and we enjoyed the food and the nice welcoming feeling of the friendly staff. The little kids had a great time with the play area etc. Meals were reasonably priced and plenty of food. I hope we have many more family gatherings there.<br/><br/>Barb Knox

Wow what an awesome place lovely people and food. So good we go every Monday night the service is wonderful and friendly and wow the food is out of this world. We never have to worry everyone always looks after us. Such a nice family restaurant the kids love it too.

Great Family Restaurant. Every three weeks my grandparents come to Melbourne to visit and we always go to sofias for lunch or dinner and are never disappointed, Their meals are massive for reasonable prices! the chicken parma is to die for and as for the chicken caesar salad it just melts in your mouth. great family restaurant with happy staff who always remember us and give us bottles of wine on our birthday and great discounts for being regulars. Cant recommend this place enough!

Sofia Croydon. Have eaten here regularly over 10 years. If you want a family type venue with generous portions, and good prices it delivers. Never had a problem with the waiting staff, many it's thier first full on job and they are learning - but they always try to accomodate whatever we want. Staff do turn over so if you have a problem tell Management.<br/>I have eaten many different meals there and balance the food with the price.

Ate at Sofia's tonight and the food was terrible, it took an hour for all of the food to arrive, dishes were just randomly turning up throughout that hour. There was no table service, we had to go up and order food an drinks. wait staff were very nice though. Can't believe this place us still open!

Cheap food for a reason. We chose to come here because of the kids play area which is suitable for kids under 5 only. Meals were less than average. Pizza bases were tasteless. The gelato is great but that's the only positive. Understaffed too. Our bill came to $42 for 2 pizza's, a kids meal and a cider.. really reasonably priced, but we won't be coming back unfortunately.

Big dislike. My mum and I had the eye fillet, and it was the most horrible piece of meat I have ever eaten. The service was also extremely poor, despite the restaurant not being busy. It was truly a very disappointing experience.

Dissapointing. Large servings, cheap and friendly staff and manager, but that is about as far as I can go. Food quality has gone down in recent years.<br/>Huge servings at cheap prices requires cost cuts, and I think cost cuts may have gone too far.<br/>The Lasagne tastes like it has large amounts of vegetable protein meat extender. <br/>The last time I ate here I thought the steak might be a safe bet, but I could not eat it. The taste was wrong and the flesh grain was very course unlike any steak I had eaten before and in my opinion was questionable if it actually came from a cow.

Terrible... I actually can't comment on the food at all because we never got that far. <br/><br/>I called and made a reservation for 9 people including 5 children. We arrived to see a huge sign 'KIDS PLAY AREA' <br/><br/>We walked in, the place was half full so not too busy, they looked around, sighed, and figured they had to push 2 tables together to accommodate us. No problems, but I had pre booked, so sighing as though it's our fault, not necessary. <br/><br/>Our children (aged between 5 and 9) went straight to the play area, which, according to the sign on the wall, is only for kids 5 and under.. The plastic play house and plastic table was dirty, the worst part was the number of stuffed teddy bears which all of the kids told us smelled really bad, they were disgusting. <br/><br/>We ordered drinks, the waitress told us it was table service and we could pay seperately. Another waitress came 5 minutes later and told us to order at the counter and we couldn't split the bill. The original waitress came back a few minutes later and told us we could pay seperately, but needed to order at counter. still waiting for our drinks, barmaid looks bored. Drinks come 5 mins later and the beer is off, barmaid is not surprised and offers us bottles instead. We get up and leave. Waste of half an hour and a kid friendly night out planned with our friends.

Are you Serious??. I don't want to sound like a food snob but this place was terrible. Sorry. I admit I am not local and live in Brunswick where we are spoilt for choice when it comes to great places to eat but I always appreciate the effort a business goes to do there best to serve customers as I used to own a café (and my hubby is a chef) and know how hard it is. BUt my experience at Sofia's in Croydon was bad. I had no expectations so I ordered the lasagne (I thought I couldn't go wrong) it was huge (great) but it tasted terrible, it had cumin in it and the meat tasted like it was close to expiring. I mean cumin in lasagne????? The staff just said that is the way it is made. Ha Ha. For their part though the staff were very accommodating and did not charge me for my one bite!! I know it is hard to make money but increase your standard by just a little and customers will appreciate it and come back. Good Luck

Vf4763. Fantastic seafood. Generous size servings. Excellent gelato ice-cream with lots of flavours to choose from. Salads had a wonderful dressing that is Balsamic based.

On the menu it says home made pasta ordered the ghonnci ( frozen mush ) and as for the pizza burn base tasted really bad. Can't believe these guys are still open I've drove past it so many times and tonight I gave them a shot what a mistake that was, never agen don't waste your time or your money.........bad bad bad

Love it. Great family restaurant with a lovely homely vibe. Feel's like my nonna's kitchen. Pizza was very nice as well as desert which I took home with me. Maria is such a lovely person which makes the experience so enjoyable.

Went in tonite, we be upfront to the waitress that we didn't book, the waitress gave us a big sigh, and then bring us to a table, which I think its quite rude of her. If there's no table we happy to be told nicely and we can always find somewhere else to eat. Then when ordering, the waitress told us that due to Fathers day they can't serve entree and main separately! Serious? I am fine to be serve together, but would appreciate a better attitude and tone from her while conveying the messages. Then we decided to change oysters that we ordered from natural to Kilpatrick but the waitress said no as she already punch into her PDA! Its not even a minute pass since we order and she hasn't even left our table. Jst absolutely rude of her all night. The other younger waitress were very friendly and more approachable. Food portion was small compared to Sofia in camberwell or burwood, but other than that, its Sofia as usual. Nite also this Sofia menu is slight diff from the others. Probably won't be back...

Service A1, food heaps and heaps, and the manager will bend over backwards to make your experience great. When you get the "hello darling " greeting you're in for a great dining experience.

Huge proportions, lacking flavour but great service!. Huge proportions for awesome prices, however are defiantly nothing fancy.<br/>Managers always lovely and look after regular staff or large bookings, as we left with 2 bottles of wine after having a party there of 30 people.

Fast and fabulous service. The service is fast and very friendly, and the food is good, just really large portions! Very family friendly, I went with my kids and was offered a high chair and seats near the kids play area. Entrees came out before the mains as requested, a tad sad that they only have Pepsi not coke. We managed to have room in our bellies for ice cream, and we were not disappointed! All the waitresses were friendly and smiling.

Fantastic !!. Today i went into Sofia's and ordered a polo new york which was melting in my mouth, all the flavors worked well together and i could not stop smiling. Not only did i enjoy my meal but my whole family as-well. I also recommend the chicken satay and the veal scallopini. Sofia's has got a nice big tick in my book in both the food quantity and taste. Also the staff is brilliant and they just kept smiling which is very rare now a days. All in all Sofia's croydon well done and i will be seeing you soon.

Horrible. I ordered a vegetarian pasta dish, it was pasta, frozen vegetables (a stir fry mix) in some tomato flavoured water. It was absolutely pathetic.

Lunch & dinner. My husband and I often eat here. It's always fast service and food servings are very generous.<br/>Great with children. When the manager saw my granddaughter upset she brought her a bowl of ice cream "on the house" to cheer her up! <br/>Not too pricy if you've got a family.

This was the first time I've been to Sofia's and we will be coming again. Great service and decent food. I have never seen a waitress smile as much as Nadia , she was very polite and made us feel welcomed. I can't wait to go back there again! I recommend the salt and pepper calamari as it was very tasty.

Poor service and very rude manager!!!. Went to Sofia Croydon today with my partner and ordered a large garden salad and pizzas. The salad quality was really bad. Most of the lettuce was yellow and rotten!! We complained and the staff took it back to the kitchen. They didn’t give us a fresh one.<br/>At check out, the manager charged us for half price and when we complained she accepted that the lettuce was yellow but she said that we ate the cucumbers, so we had to pay half of the price!!! When I asked the manager that I needed to take a photo of that poor quality salad, she completely got rude and started swearing (the manager and also the big guys who normally cooked pizza).<br/><br/>I was really shocked as I never expected that reaction.<br/>Shame on!<br/><br/>I am sorry to say that I never go to Sofia again.

Seafood(calamari). 4 people ordered the seafood meal,so disappointing we all only got a few bits of fish and prawns. The dish consisted most of what was frozen rubber being called calamari. We had around 16 pieces of this rubber. We sent back 40 pieces from 4 plates of this "calamari". It was a pity because we go regularly and had no problem with the food before this. Maybe the regular chef was on holidays.

Great value. Excellent menu, generous serves and good value for money. All the waitresses are friendly but our favorite is Emily who always greets us with her lovely smile.

Sofia's is a brilliant resturant to my family and I. We go there regularly, last night i witnessed a very rude man who insulted the staff as well as the manager because the girls were very efficient on the job and went around a few times just to ask him if everything was right. When on his way out , he was very loud and rude and made a big scene for nothing. We love going there and the service and food is excellent. It's a shame how people could be so rude.

Standard Sofias. You know what you're getting when you go to Sofias, so if you go with no unrealistic expectations, you'll be fine. Cheap though large servings with hit or miss service. Ordered sauce on the side though it arrived covering the steak and drinks not arriving (albeit it water) - this is when there's only 4 tables of customers in the place. Still, not a deal breaker at this end of the market. Bonus for this Sofias is that it has tap beer.

Amazzinggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) best place to dine!!. OMG!! This restaurant is amazing! I mean I've to some pretty good restaurants but nothing compares to this restaurant, i heard about this restaurant from a good friend of mine so I decided to check it out with a couple of my mates on my birthday, when I walked in i just was stunned by how beautifully and modern-ally designed it was and how all the employees were so nice and treated us with respect. Not to mention the food, OMG! it was amazing I've never really enjoyed a meal that much the parma the I ordered was so BIG! I think the biggest I've ever seen, the food was beautifully cooked and served, it was just bursting with a lot of flavor, also to mention the gigantic and delicious free complementary ice-cream we received for my birthday, it was just amazing the best dining experience ever i go there frequently from time to time and it just jaw-dropping every time i go the staff and service is amazing and the food is startling. If you want to have a unforgettable meal i highly recommend you check out Sofia restaurant. ;) :)

This is the 2nd time we have eaten here and last night we had a horrible experience. First my meal came out before the entree!! And before my partner and friends? When they're meals came out we asked where the entree was got a blank stare from the waitress and our "garlic" pizza came out 10 mins later. The 2 chicken parmas ordered were absolutely sick- chewy gritty soft and slimy with no taste not to mention the chips that looked like they were someone else's left overs. What a rip off after paying for only 1 meal and 3 drinks it cost us $54!!! Don't waste your money here!

Sofias Croydon. Great meals and great value. Only problem (for me) is that they serve too much! If you are a big eater, you will love it. Staff is young, but all smiley and happy. Been about 10 times, and always satisfied.

With sofia balwyn obviously still getting on their feet from the recent expansion the service and value was exceptional, very large servings so if you're getting a main make sure you have a mate or significant other to share it with

Yet another extremely disappointing Sofia Restaurant. Large value for money servings does not equate to good food. I ordered a pasta dish, which looked and tasted like mass produced slop. A seafood dish was ordered and not only did it lack any real resemblance of flavor, let alone freshness, part of what was included in this particular dish was 'off' and definitely shouldnt have been served to any customer. The only thing positive about this place were the waitresses. The service they provided was excellent! They were very gracious in the way they handled our complaint. They did their best. The low standard of food certainly doesnt reflect upon them. Pity the management couldn't have followed their example. This restaurant could be nice place to eat with the use of fresh ingredients and alot more care in their food preparation. Based on my experience here I could not recommend this place to anyone. It amazes me how it has remained open.
