Review Krispy Kreme - Croydon

Christopher Bailey
Absolutely delicious range of doughnuts and assorted bakery sweets that are made onsite. The coffee is really delicious, each time I have been they have maintained the same level of quality and service. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, which isn't a surprise but a genuine positive to add to the experience. The layout of the dine in area is quite large, with an upstairs also available, however there is no lift to get up and down if you are with someone unable to walk quite so many stairs. The decor might need a refresh, but the place is clean and comfortable and I would definately recommend!

Great product, but 3 stars today because staff were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice we walked in (no-one else in store), had to say "can I get some service" before someone walked over. Clearly need to learn the art of customer service or you really don't wont your job!!

I’ve been here many times to use wifi and study. All staffs are so kind and the hall environment is so clean. sometimes I can get free donut when they just made, it is also beneficial to us. They opened 24/7, and the hall is opened until 10pm so I highly recommend to someone who wants to spend time to work, study and video meeting with strong and unlimited free wifi. Oh their coffee is also great! Thx

Professionalism could go a long way. The staff don’t have a badge name. But the girl at reception on 14th of July at 7.30 pm was absolutely rude. I could feel a bit of discrimination! The higher managers to follow up and make sure she got enough training to stand as reception.

Best Krispy Kreme outlet in Adelaide. Only place that I visit for donuts. Staff is very good and mostly give an extra donut which brings a smile 🙂
Olivia Lopresto
Waited over 20 mins in the drive thru for a strawberry donut… just for them to tell me they sold out once I got to the window 😐

Awesome donuts, it was the first time I ever tried them fresh from the bakery. My favourite is the cinnamon and the original glazed. Very nice 'occasional' great for me 🙂
Darrell Klar
Staff openly argued over fact pre-order hadn't been built for customers to overhear.

This place put krispy kreme to shame!!!! We were that horrifide to find out that this place is there owm business!! We were hesitant to buy some from melbounre because at this place they tasted horrible, dry and the custard was completly different !!! Only to get home to tassie and find out that they arent proper krispy kreme business! Krispy kreme should do something about it for selling different tasting to proper one!!!! not happy travlers!!!!!!!

What a joke have been in the drive thru since 4.15 still 4th in line to get to the window and it's now 4.37.....what a joke, employ some staff!!!!!

Very helpful, friendly staff helped us design and create a great donut stand cake for our sons 21st. We were very, very happy with the final result and everyone complimented all round. Thanks again Diane Belci

I am very disappointed with the faulse advertisement. Ordered a gradé thick shake and was charged 5.90 when the board at the drive through said 4.90 when I asked the server to honour the difference according to Australian law she would not. This Is an illegal act. This happened at the West Croydon store.

Ya Boy Chance, a lovely server with a great attitude! Excellent service!

Need the place to be cleaned. Carpet needs to be vacuumed. Thanks for the free doughnuts.

Chrispy, the customer service attendant was excellent. Incredibly humorous, engaging and fun and did well to upsell us to a full box instead of just a few donuts. His customer service more than made up for the pricing.

If there where 6 stars, I'd give 10 stars. Your doughnuts where just doughnuts but the man who served us at 22:21 on the 30/05/16 had the soul of a golden butterfly if butterflies could fist pump. The only time we've gone away ever feeling good after being served by a clerk. bless your golden soul, don't fly too close to the sun Icarus. Be true - Stay Golden

Drove up from Aldinga, it was worth the trip. Bought Cookies and cream, caramel cheesecake and glazed donuts. All were super yummy.

Had the new raspberry chocolate heart! Drove all the way there after seeing the advert for my one suagr fix. I am sure would be delicious!! So so disappointed. Certainly NOT FRESH!!! Dry, hard and could have knocked someone out.Terrible guys! Disappointed

Atmosphere would have been good if Belinda was not there. She gave my partner a derection and ruined my fun night. She was rude and tried to seduce my man but caused his Weiner to retract back into his boday. Doh.

Great service Coffee so good And the glazed donuts so fresh Thank you to the friendly staff working today

Having posters up advertising your Christmas Donuts at 12 for $25 - then charging $32 for them is false advertising. When questioned your staff member said that promotion had expired - If so take the posters down!!!!

Experienced worse customer services in last few visits. Can't forget at Halloween we waited 30mins with baby in hands and sever was only taking care of the people in costume so busy in distributing free donuts didn't even looked on us. People were breaking line and was being served, a lady in front of us just left realizing them what are they doing, they tried to apologize her but it was too late. I am not huge fan of doughnuts but loved hot ones coming out fresh from conveyor belt which made me go to Krispy Kreme every other week but in last few visits server just refused us to serve with hot doughnuts and told us they are not serving it anymore well its just another bakery doughnuts for me just more expensive. Last time the doughnuts were like frozen cold not sure when they baked it but I couldn't eat even one. Not going back there especially at West Croydon (Port Road). Hopefully they will read my comments and try not to lose their other (regular) customers.

I was served by a lovely young lady (Tarnie) who was very patient with me while I was trying to decide what doughnuts to purchase. Thank you Tarnie for great customer service!

Need a 'disappointed' rating. Drive through girls clearly have never met a toddler. Wouldn't let me add a $1 babycino at the window because they had 'lots and lots of coffee orders'. If I wanted one, I had to drive around again.

Happy staff and great service will definitely be coming back to this store

Gave me an upset stomach, they used something that was either off or on the way out. I usually never get ill.

The tea is great and the service is excellent !!:)

I wonder if the fat was a bit old. Our donuts a bit too brown. The afternoon was good and the facilities tidy.
Ali Scott
Great service, great donuts, I preferred the Cookie n Cream donut and the original iced donut!
Vanessa Wilson
Was a great clean store which catered to all our needs. The staff here also went above and beyond too. 👌
Elaine Greenaway
Enjoyed my iced coffee, and my chocolate custard donut
Cheryl Wilson
Had a lovely coffee and glaze donut while my son watched the creme filled donuts being made
Megan Cunningham
The guy who served me tonight (11/3) inside the store was amazing. Some of the best customer service ever! :)

Krispy Kreme should just be taken for what it is - a donut place. The donuts are consistent in quality and are all pretty great. Drinks on the other hand? Not so much. Steer clear of the bubble tea and ice chocolate/chai. Watered down, diluted and terrible.

Unfortunately like so many places in Adelaide nowadays the coffee is consistently burnt which to me is an instant turnoff. I get that you take your chances with fast food style places but since they specialise in dessert, hot drinks need to be reasonable quality.
Tempting Palates
We all know how much Adelaide loves Krispy Kremes. When we finally got our own store there were lines all the way down Port Rd and for days on end. That was two years ago this month. So when Tempting Palates was invited to take a tour of the factory and take a peek behind the scenes on how the doughnuts are made, how could we refuse? If you love doughnuts like we do, you would have jumped at the chance too!
On The Chopping Board
Let me take you behind the glass wall of the Krispy Kreme shop, and show you the wonders of the doughnut machine and how these deliciously fluffy, original glazed doughnuts are made. You may have already heard of or even frequented this buzzing place, but how much do you really know about the "Hot Light" and the process behind the creation of the doughnuts? On The Chopping Board (OTCB) was invited to attend this behind-the-scenes event. All food and beverages were provided free of charge.

Donuts are too sweet, even the famous glazed one was too much for me. I ended up only being able to have the cinnamon donuts. And why is there icing inside the donuts instead of cream or custard??

Seriously?

Our 16 year old son wanted doughnuts to take to a birthday party and since we were in the area it seemed a no brainer. SInce we weren't using brains we decided to stop and have coffee.

First we had to negotiate a queue of people waiting to be served. There were four or five people behind the counter but only one was actually doing any serving. The others had adopted the "Look busy when anyone's watching" tactic.

The staff all seemed to be about 13 and povided the level of service you might expect from 13 year olds. We ordered at the counter, then moved to the register to pay where we had to remind the youth what we ordered two minutes before.

Finding a seat at a table NOT covered by used coffee mugs, empty boxes, discarded serviettes and various other pieces of detritus was a challenge. Rather like 13 year olds who need to be reminded by mum to tidy their rooms, the kids behind the counter presumably hadn't remembed to actually clean up the dining area since... well... since forever by the look of it.

We eventually cleared down a table ourselves and sat to wait for our coffee. And wait we did. One of the kids was making the coffees, but clearly wasn't really a whiz at the barrista game. When the coffees did arrive they were in takeaway paper cups - presumably because all the china cups and mugs were still sitting out on the tables. What's the point of actually asking if we're having it here or taking it away if you're just going to go with the takeaway cups anyway?

Curiously, if you order a coffee and a doughnut then they give you a free doughtnut to go with it, which seems a bit like overkill.

The doughnuts themselves were an odd sort of thing. I had a "powdered strawberry" which was sot of a jam berliner, but without the interest you might get at Villi's or Balfours. The doughnut itself was weirdly tasteless, which meant that the only taste you got was the strawberry jam, which tasted of not much besides sugar. Perhaps this is why the doughnuts seem to be decorated with almost a baroque complexity - to cover up the fact that they actually don't taste of anything all that much by themselves (even the plainest are coated in sticky sweet "glaze" - for which read "sugar icing")

The coffee was... well, ordinary is a strong term, but le's go with it.

So, service that just didn't cut it, coffee that was poor and food that was dodgy at best.

And people are still queuing up for it!

Went there this morning and their attitude was nothing but horrible. The person who served me was the store manager. Apparently it was a busy morning for them, but thats no excuse for the bad attitude. One of the staff handed me my drinks and didnt say anything just gave it to me and quickly "ran away". The manager seem to be annoyed by me for some reason that i have no idea what the reason is. I bought a dozen and lost count half way thru and she seemed to be angry with me asking her how many more i can choose. Thru the whole process the only time i saw her smiling to me is when she told me they ran out of icecream and will use gelato for my milkshake if i dont mind. Bad experience and will never go back. The one in rundle mall is much better. Same product but the staffs ruined it

Not worth the money... Over priced donut! They are incredibly small for what you pay... Considering the vast amounts of independent bakeries around this area, I think you would be much better off going elsewhere and grabbing a jam Berliner or honey stick. I won't be returning and wasting my money on a "bite size" mini donut

Not sure what all the hype is about!. Decided to give Krispy Kreme a go after all the hype and hysteria it caused when it opened in Adelaide. I won't be returning. We visited on a Saturday evening. With Adelaide's current unemployment crisis, you would think KK would have had the chance to pick from many applicants, but the staff all looked so bored and as if they wanted to be anywhere other than working at KK!

The donuts were very average, I don't understand what all the hype is about.
Chad Simmons
Ho hum. Went a couple of months ago. Donuts are OK for a quick sugar fix, but expensive for what you get. Much better on offer at many independent bakeries. Wouldn't have written a review, but felt compelled when at Sydney airport this week and saw the prices are actually cheaper than the port rd store! Obviously Adelaide people are being ripped off. Won't be going back here again.

Coffe. What is the people opinion about the coffee at km port rd and kk gouger st???
Food 2 Run
Gold KK is so good, kids loved it..service is poor but you can't fault the donuts

Terrible service, filthy venue, amazing doughnuts. Sometimes, service can be so bad, it can be entertaining. It seems staff here are only trained to about 80% capacity. You could order the same thing three times on three separate occasions, but get an entirely different order each time. Order an affogato? Be asked by your server how to make one. Yes, feel free to embellish on how much icecream should be used. Order a doughtnut sundae thingy? Well does it come in a cone? Should the cone be inserted into the hole of the doughtnut? But then, how do you put icecream on it? Or should it go in it? For ages it seemed they never had any chocolate sauce. This is where you can take further liberties with substitutions. Replace chocolate sauce for more icecream! Maybe a waffle bowl too? But let's cut the staff some slack - their shifts are probably long and their brains are probably fried and glazed. Plus they have to deal with people like us. It's just as well this venue on Port Road has a viewing area where you can see your doughnuts being made. Marvel at process engineering while the most simple of orders take forever to process! Admire globalised interior decorating flecked with sugar and coffee stains. Yes, bring your sense of humour and give yourself about 15 minutes to get your order processed. Even if you are the only person in the line.

Service. Just would like to say about the service today was rather rude the girl that was serving liked like she didn't even want to be there just find that good service is what you need when your the one paying.

For so many years, the people of Adelaide have been deprived of Krispy Kreme donuts. The most common way they were brought into the state was by purchasing them at an eastern state airport.
