Review Acai Brothers Croydon - Croydon

Matt Moore
Açai brothers was a bit of a disappointment but I think that’s mainly just because of the price. The toppings were fantastic and fresh and the service wasn’t bad but was missing a bit of gusto. The açai which is meant to be the main bit was bitter and just didn’t seem right Unless if you have expendable income I would recommend but it’s still worth a try atlesst once Fantastically awesome for instagram photos though

I always heard of acai but didn't understand the hype. I recently started eating healthy and thought it would be a good healthy treat to have. Omg do I understand the hype now. Since buying it I'm addicted, I get the salted caramel acai bowl and it is my 10 minutes of heaven. The place is always packed on weekends and it's so nice to order then walk over to the oval across the road and eat it whilst letting my dog run around. It's brought a little normality back in the craziness of COVID and is seriously delicious.

Lovely discovery today of Açaí Brothers Croydon! As a vegan I had a delicious toasted sandwich with vegan mayo, spinach, vegan cheese & avocado. Absolutely delicious! I paired that with a tropical smoothie and even though I don’t like ginger (it had ginger in it) it was also delicious! Staff were lovely & friendly. Cafe was neat, tidy & clean. A++++

the location is beautiful and the inside has a wonderful ambiance, the acai bowl itself is okay and tastes really healthy however the one big drawback is that it is overpriced and not just the bowls but every item in the menu is more expensive. Reasonable? maybe, but convenient? not so much

If you want the most amazing Acai bowls, I highly recommend Acai Brothers. The Acai bowls are amazing with plenty of vegan options! The vegan deserts were amazing too 10/10

Always super happy with my bowls here. Slowly eating my way through the menu. Coffee always on point and vegan treats actually taste good! Yes the menu items may not be “cheap” for some but what health food is? You pay for what you get and here they don’t hold back on loading these bowls to capacity with fresh, top quality produce! Dont be turned off by the line outside or wait times. Thats just a great indicator to how good and popular these guys are! Its worth the wait!

The food was okay, nothing particularly special, and it was extremely over priced. I wouldn't go here hungry, I would say jts definitely more of a snack vibe. It's definitely aesthetically pleasing and good for a nice instagram shot, but it's nothing I haven't had before. I would recommend going to any other Cafe that offers acai, and order something in conjunction with it, its just not that filling.

At first I was "wow, that's expensive for a small bowl of food", then I was like "here, take my money". Vegan and raw options galore. Also... amazing avo on toast with hemp seeds (finally legal in Australia).

I've eaten a few items off the menu now. This is a fairly small cafe more suited for takeway but you can eat in! The cafe offers acai bowls, smoothies, juices and raw treats! I originally attended upon thier first opening week and was pretty disappointed with my acai bowl being very watery however last time I went it was a great consistency! I think any kinks have a now been ironed out so I a deffinetly recommend giving it another shot if this happened to you! The smoothies and juices are delicious! I really like the Snickers raw treat, I can't say I'm a fan of the raw donuts but it is most likely a matter of opinion! Give it a shot if you are looking for a healthy but delicious snack or meal!

Amazing place, friendly staff, great atmosphere and the raw Nutella bowl is to die for! Can't wait to go back again and try all the other things they have to offer. Two thumbs up girls!👍🏽👍🏽

Been here several times but only ever ordered the same thing. Creature of habit! I enjoy the original acai bowls with fresh fruit. The cafe is small but has a great vibe and good set up for going alone or with friends. When it's busier it obviously takes a bit of time for your order to come out but once it arrives it's all worth it. The look great and taste great too.

If you’re gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vego or just want a really awesome Açaí bowl....this is the place to go. Heaven!!!

The Acai bowl I had was yum, fresh fruit and done well! Popular spot but a little small and it was hard to get the pram up the lip on the door. Staff were nice and has a great take away vibe.

How good is this place! So many tempting options, me and my friends wanted to try all of them. The acai bowls were awesome! As was the service! Great work guys!

Amazing service, best coffee I've had and the acai bowls are so yummy!!!!

My favorite place to eat lunch. And the staff are beautiful.

Took almost 20 minutes to make 1 smoothie. There were 5 staff. No apology for the wait. Need to work on your speed guys.

I gave in and ordered lockdown takeaway despite what I considered to be a hefty delivery fee of $8 given it is essentially a smoothie we are talking here. Imagine my disappointment when I realised they had no grapes available and didn’t call to see what I would like instead (just wrote it on the lid!). So my inclusion of three selected fruits became two. It shouldn’t be an option on the online order if it it out of stock

Original review
I don’t even know how four branches of Açai Bros popped up without me knowing. I was eating acai before it became the thing to do and a staple on the majority of Melbourne’s breakfast menus. I was delighted to discover not only the existence of said chain store but also the convenient location of my house being pretty much smack back between 2 of the Melbourne based stores (they are Australia wide, amen to that).

I was fairly horrified to realise my takeaway bowl was $17.90 as you’d probably be hard pressed to cop that at an actual cafe but when it came out it became apparent it was loaded with toppings which somewhat justified the pricepoint. The staff were absolutely lovely too and I applaud the ability to customise each bowl by choosing your three fruits (I went super tropical with mango watermelon and pineapple).

If anything I’d say the toppings were too excessive because the ratio to actual açai was disproportionate. This was probably more loaded because it was a speciality bowl so I’m keen to try their standard bowls (and more of the speciality because they all sound sensational). Overall a bit hefty pricewise for a quick lunch on the go but the quality of high caliber ingredients renders it good value for $

Amazing delicious bowls!

Very good acai, just needs to be more frozen. I ordered the peanut butter bowl, but there was way to much peanut butter. I prefer to mix the butter into my acai, but it was all on top so I had no option but to eat it first then have the plain acai.

Went here as my sister has been wanting to try it out for quite some time plus she just got her wisdom teeth out & it be the perfect food to it. I got the choc treat yourself with grapes, apples & strawberries & my sister got the warm açai bowl with strawberries, bananas and passion fruit. My sister really liked hers. She was happy that they had a warm menu since it was freezing the day we went. The choc treat yourself was delicious ! I got the regular size but could have easily gone with a small. They are quite filling and put a lot into the bowls. Mine pretty much tasted like chocolate crackles!

I absolutely love a good acai bowl and the Croydon team do an awesome one!! I always get the Ain't Nothin' Butter bowl, or the Choc Treat Yo'self bowl which are always delicious. The team is super friendly, too!! Win-win!

I am not usually one that will go for the healthiest option when it comes to choosing something to eat for brunch but Acai Brothers today has hit the spot. Especially after having not made the best food choices over the festive season and the weather in Melbourne has been far too hot. Therefore something as light and fresh from Acai brothers was perfect! Service was quick and my waffles weren’t dry but delicious. I had ordered it with salted caramel sauce but I couldn’t taste the salted caramel and neither could my friend who had one of the acai bowls. Just be aware that there is very limited seating in this establishment. There’s a communal table and just a breakfast bar. Overall, a nice start to the day and the portion sizes are just right!

after many delicious experiences with acai bowls from various places, this cute little chain cafe needed exploring and definitely didn't disappoint.
it's a small but very warm and cosy establishment with all of the staff being extremely friendly, attentive and welcoming.
the service was fast with multiple patrons coming in and out over the hour time period of our visit. lots of take away orders and a few people choosing to eat in, all bowls looked amazing!!
super keen to come back to try more of the menu but would happily and would even have the same original bowl with three added fruits given it was a small serving at a reasonable price and really yummy.

Tasted okay but nothing sensational. Seriously overpriced. Shocked for what I got. I could make this at home for a few bucks. Won't be returning.

4.7 ⭐️
Located within Eastern Melbourne, Açai Brothers Croydon is a bustling health food cafe.

We had the Choc Treat Yo Self, Tropic Thunder and the Avocado Toast. Which was a first of trying an Açai bowl, leaving me wondering what bowl to try on my next visit.

Personally I have a sweet tooth, so the Chocolate Treat Yo Self was definitely one that I suggest to anyone after a sugar fix, without the nasties!

Overall, the atmosphere was fantastic (a lot of activewear), the staff were super helpful in suggesting options that suited our particular taste palette. Which gives you the option to mix it up and try something different every time.

Wether you are after something fruity, sweet or chocolatey, try an Açai bowl from Açai Brothers in Croydon, they will definitely not disappoint.

Fresh and fruity we came here after a gym workout and discovered it’s a popular destination for gym goers!

We ordered a RAWtella açaí bowl and a Raw lemon bowl. The best part about this chain, is you’re able to select your own toppings and basically eat exactly what you want. Our toppings included kiwi fruit, strawberries, pineapple, banana & passionfruit. We will be back 😃
V!CK!
If I could score with halves I’d probs give these guys a 3.5. I enjoy an Acai bowl as a treat every now and then and this place is probably the only decent place locally to get one, since it’s all they do (mostly) you’d want to hope they can get it right and yes they do. The best part is the fact that their fruit is always fresh but I do feel they’re a bit over priced for what they are and what you get. Especially when you know what the average price of the ingredients are. Everything’s in take away containers so there’s also a lot of waste for every bowl (cardboard bowls and plastic lids and spoons) My kids enjoy them but I don’t fancy spending $40odd dollars on a few bowls of fruit.
I tried the peanut butter protein ball and it was ok but I wouldn’t buy one again. Staff are always friendly and put the effort into making their food well presented which is always nice to see. There’s always people in the cafe so they’ve created a good little clientele.

We just dined there and it was OK. However I can't believe with all the knowledge in relation to one use plastic and the damage that it is doing to our environment that places still use one use plastic spoons and throw away containers. Come on at least use ceramic bowls and steel spoons. You're providing a healthy food option then also do the right thing for the environment.

Absolutely looooveeee the coffee here. Being close to work its the oerfecr stop for a caffine pick me up! Also do gorgeous fresh juices and smoothies...but absolutely the best coffees in Croydon!
Brooke Fox
A busy outlet in the outer east of Melbourne. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The acai bowls are delicious! The healthy treats on offer are also very tasty
Food Traveller
I feel as though anyone who enjoys these açai bowls are the locals who actually haven’t tried any other açai bowls and only go here because they can tag them on instagram and be “cool and trendy”. Over priced and over rated are the two words ill use to describe this place.
Bonastar1977
Exceptionally great coffee! I haven’t tried any of the food. I love that it’s open at 7am on weekdays. Staff are hard working and friendly. Did I mention how awesome the coffee is?!

Been here a few times and never been disappointed. Lovely tasting healthy food. Staff were friendly too, love the way they make each bowl to order as you see them chopping your ingredients. Would recommend.

I’ve dined here on average once per week since it opened. The cafe is more of a relaxed style cafe with all their items being served in takeaway containers meaning you can dine elsewhere. The do have a small inside dining area however I wouldn’t recommend bringing a large group of friends to dine here due to the size. The cafe offers a range of smoothie bowls, smoothies and raw treats. I like the original bowl, you can choose 3 fruits to go on top and mango is now in season! They are vegan and lactose free. Beautiful! The smoothie bowls are always really thick which I enjoy and are made fresh to order. The smoothies and raw treats are also nice. Highly recommend as they are the best smoothie bowls I’ve had.
Teisha_Catherine
Amazing ingredients and super helpful service! I wasn't sure which smoothie to order so I asked the girls advice. She gave me her genuine opinion and I ended up really enjoying the smoothie. Definitely service with a smile
DamoForce Food
Small shop, nice friendly staff. Huge menu to choose from. The bowls are fresh and very yasty. Though the only slight draw back how pricy it is.

Cute little cafe in a cute location! The acai bowl was delicious and would definitely be back, only bad side was that the staff weren't the most friendly and could have probably put on some nice music so it wasn't too quiet. But other than that, my friend and I were really happy with the food!

First time visit and I loved it!! The fresh fruit on top of my berry and beet bowl made the whole thing absolutely delicious!!! Coffees were top notch too. The raw tim tam I bought for afternoon tea didn't quite make it...I demolished the whole thing after taking a little nibble. It was delectable.
Nicholas Corbett
Bit of an over-hype, they're just acai bowls and nothing too spectacular. Always quite a long queue and a wait for your order to be made. 🤘🏽
Carla Campbell
This is my most favourite place to go for breakfast. Some of the girls know me by name. I have something different nearly every time but ALWAYS have one of their almond milk lattes because they are one of the best in Melbourne! Loyalty cards may be a nice idea as I'm always there. 😊

Ordered one small takeout black coffee and was short changed by $10. $13.50 is a little bit expensive for bland watery coffee when there are many cheaper and more competent options on Main Street.
Foodie From The Hood-ie
After heading out for breakfast this morning my coffee just wasn't enough and really needed something to freshen up. We decided to try a smoothie from Acai brothers and we weren't disappointed. Ordered the Mango/Coconut smoothie (secondary 'special' list) and it was awesome. Fresh ingredients and not too thick. Waited around 15 minutes which was too long considering it was $11.50 for a large smoothie (way too overpriced). Overall great smoothie but prepare to wait a while.

Love this place! I've tried the pink pataya and the mint chocolate bowls and they were both delicious. Great location as there are not many vegan friendly cafes around the eastern suburbs. Also across the road from a park so you can eat in the park. Staff are also very friendly.

What a busy busy busy place this is! Really good menu for the customers to pick from. I had the mango and coconut bowl with 3 fresh fruits! Was delicious!
Foodie4Melb
Best coffee around! And great acai bowls :) will be back...thanks guys. Was made quickly and fruit was fresh and generous. Great stopover after gym.

I was really excited about this place but have been really disappointed... I don't mind the acai bowl however the wait is just way too long. 20mins has been the quickest for my acai bowl. Most recently I ordered two coffees (which I received within 10mins) and two acai bowls (originals so nothing too flash)
I was being very patient but after 35mins of waiting i was becoming annoyed. I asked where the rest of my order was and, after some investigating, was told that they accidentally 'bumped' my order after giving me my coffees. So then I had to wait an additional 10mins to get my order. I can understand some teething problems as it recently opened but that was the second time my order has been bumped. it's also happened to someone I know and they waited an hour!!! Considering I've only been there 5 times, the odds aren't too great.. I haven't gone back since and am reluctant to go back again.

Although I enjoyed my Acai bowl I thought it was a bit over priced for what you get. The fruit on top was quite generous and fresh but definitely could have done with more of the Acai smoothie base for $12. The fact that they serve up all the Acai bowls in take away containers (even if you decide to eat in) stressed me out a bit - SO.MUCH.WASTE! The staff were sweet, friendly and helpful - service was efficient even though it was busy busy, and I absolutely loved the décor. The greenery really gives the place a nice relaxing vibe. May be back to try one of the smoothies, they sounded delicious.
