Review Goldeluck's Bakeshop - Croydon

Jobby Mathew
Goldeluck's exceeded our expectation with the White Choc Doughnut Cake. One delivering before the mentioned time which was perfect as it was a birthday cake and two, the cake was just amazing and perfect for a family of four cookies'n'creme lovers. Thank you for making the birthday even more special.

I am so thoroughly impressed! I ordered a box for my 80 year old father. I sent a special message requesting the courier make sure he take them to the front door which was up some stairs. I got an email back within half an hour from the owner saying he would ensure it was done. All with a lovely tone to the emails too. What amazing customer service. So rare these days but so appreciated!!!! Oh and Dad loved the donuts too....delicious!!!!

Easily the best local bakery in town! Had a great selection of treats and their coffee was amazing!! We went back for seconds (and thirds) right after!! Interior was super cute and staff were so friendly!! We’re ready to be regulars now.

A sweet little bakery in town with the best baked goods and pies! Had the sausage roll and vanilla slice, was absolutely DEVINE. Staff was also really friendly, making conversation with us and asking if we needed anything.

Ordered a box of doughnuts with some coffee and they’re easily the best in town! Store was clean and selection of doughnuts were fantastic, servers were also really friendly. The doughnuts were light and fluffy and the chai latte is one of the best I’ve ever tried! Will definitely be back again soon

I placed an order a few days in advance for my daughters birthday. I specifically selected the cake to be delivered on October 11th and it didn’t not arrive. No one picked up when I dialled their 1300 number and the live chat was nothing short of useless. Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely shocking customer service.

We visited the bake shop in search of their famous donuts, and I was pleasantly surprised to find they still had stock at about 4pm.
The shop is quite run down and not very aesthetic. The fancy donut hybrids definitely stand out and almost look out of place next to the more traditional bakery items like tarts, dry looking brownies, stale escargots and poorly topped pizza scrolls.

I was hopeful these would live up to the hype, but unfortunately they didn't. They were quite stale and tasteless. HOWEVER I do admire the flavour options and I do believe they would be great if they were fresh. I have been meaning to go back here and give them another go, or try one of their other stores that seem to have higher traffic and therefore a faster turnaround with stock? (Hoping then, the donuts would be a lot fresher!)

Overall- this trip wasn't too great, but I'd like to go back and try them again, as I feel we just got an old batch.

3.5
Received a delivery today of the “Got Caramilk” Easter egg/ donut pack. The irony of not receiving a single caramilk Easter egg in a pack named as such wasn’t lost on us. They must have run out of caramilk eggs and so substituted with caramel eggs. I’m not sure but none the less we did enjoy tucking into a duo of delicious donuts and a yummy assortment of eggs and chocolate goodies... just not caramilk.

We also added a few cold pies and pasties into the order for another day. They were generously portioned but also not quite what we ordered (we ordered a steak cheese pie, meat pastie, 2 veggie pastie but ended up with 2 steak pies and 2 veggie pasties).. would probably take away in the future as that gives me more control over what we end up with.

I only had one of their donuts before, but that experience was lovely and would definitely want to get other flavours if I was in the area.

Golden Gaytime 4/5 - generous filling of a sweet honeycomb/ caramel filling that was not overly sweet (still sweet but expected for flavours reminiscing a golden gaytime bar). The overall donut was soft but the reason for a 4 is that i would prefer more dough as it wouldve completed the donut experience. Nonetheless, the dough that was present was soft and light/ fluffy, and was fresh/not oily even though the batch i got was near the end of the day. Crumble on top was still nice and added a bit of texture, again resembling that of a golden gaytime. Highly recommend!

Doughnuts to die for.........we had the Lemon Meringue and ‘Red Velvet’. Fresh, soft and with ample filling. Not so good for today’s calorie count but totally worth it

YUM! I had been craving donuts for so long and finally tried Goldeluck's after hearing and seeing so many good reviews. I was not disappointed at all! I brought 4 donuts to share amongst friends; the cinnamon, fairy dust, tim tam and golden gaytime. Seriously impressed with all 4 and can't wait to try more flavours!
The customer service was quick and friendly. I'm looking forward to going back!

I was so excited to try the limited edition creme brûlée donut however was let down by the taste. The actual donut itself was quite bland and the texture wasn’t the best. The creme bruleee bit in the middle was nice to bite into but nothing too special. Don’t think it was worth it considering I paid 5.50 for it

If you are going to give yourself a sugar hangover you might as well go all out and support this family owned and run business. I have enjoyed various flavours of donuts and cronuts when they do the pop up in the city and also from their Croydon store. The city is riding a wave of donut places at the moment from the decedent to the good ol, basic classics but I haven't been let down (or put into a sugar coma) by these guys!

We are locals. Haven't tried the donuts which is what they are known for. So the review is based on everything else. In all honesty an average bakery with good treats but nothing to rave about. Bread is average. Great sandwiches. There is one great marketer on the team who is male and deserves a great deal of credit. Sadly one rude lady behind the counter who can be a bit abrupt at the best of times. Great for kids lunches or adults on the run.
PlasterPillow
Really good! Had the snickers doughnut and it was delicious and rather filling. The latte was surprisingly great as well. Definitely tempting to go back and try another one of their doughtnuts.

$15 for a Gold plated Donut! Honestly I thought I must try it. In saying that it wasn't as spectacular as I would have expected. Didnt taste fresh, the layers of the donut were not perfect, the filling was very sweet and wasnt as robust as I would have liked.

It's hard not to please a donut lover and these guys never let me down. Being so close to work, I think we've tried nearly every flavour! They offer traditional filled donuts plus cronuts (half donut, half crossiant) and they often have new flavours to try.

I would recommend updating the interiors though - would be good if there was inside seating and good coffee to match the awesome donuts. We always take our donuts back to work but for someone who wanted to eat them there, the options are pretty limited.

Staff are mostly always helpful and friendly.

Love the donuts from goldelucks. Visited their Eastland outpost a couple of times, and would definitely recommend the golden gaytime donut (Ferrero rocher dossant is my second choice!) the only issue I have encountered with goldelucks is poor service. I was waiting to be served, someone arrived after me, and the person who was serving asked the lady who came in after me what she would like. Would normally let this pass but it has happened twice! The other staff members seem really friendly- perhaps he can learn from them and say “who was next?” when serving.

Amazing donuts - not too sweet and flavour combination delicious. We got the blueberry flavour as well as the apple crumble. Beautifully presented and tastes just as amazing. Would highly if you are after donuts.

Go and get donuts noooooowwww
Dont know what their other stuff is like but their donuts are the best ever.. ..with ever changing flavours there is always am excuse to go back!

Delicious salad rolls here and the desserts are amazing... I’m yet to try the cronut but will definitely sample one day. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Would recommend!

Tried these synth sweets expo
It looked so good and I heard about all the hype over these

Sorry but the pastry was tough and didn’t have much flavour and overall wasn’t a good donut/crossaint
Would not buy again

Edit; decided to give it another go with their gaytime
Donut and it tasted nothing like gaytime. Was so disappointed. Never coming here again
Hello. Imnikki
Located at a suburb far far away from the city, Goldeluck’s Bakeshop has remained on my to-visit list for a long time, but I just couldn’t find the time nor a reason to drive out to Croydon just for doughnuts. So when I heard that Goldeluck will be at the Sweet Expo, I made a beeline for their stall immediately after arriving at the expo.

A range of doughnuts and dossants were on offered, and reasonably priced at $4.50-$6.00. The odd one out and the most expensive one is the 24K Gold Magic Dossant, with edible gold, at $15.00. Guess which silly fool bought it? *raises hand sheepishly

Let’s just ignore the price tag for a minute ok? The taste is advertised as chocolate fudge, and it did indeed tasted chocolatey. But the word “fudge” led me to believe that it would be rich, and rich it was not. The chocolate tasted mild, but in a way, the delicateness of it actually went well with the sweet and buttery pastry. The top exterior layer was indeed flaky and melt-in-the-mouth tender, but the doughnut to croissant ratio leaned heavily towards doughnut and this resulted in too much denseness, too little crunch.

The other item that we tried, was the much more ordinarily priced, Golden Gaytime doughnut. The doughnut was fluffy, with a nice chew to it. The taste did pretty well to live up to its namesake, and I love how generous the filling was.

I’m pleased that I managed to tick Goldeluck off my list, and I’m glad that I didn’t had to drive all the way to Croydon to achieve this.

Goldeluck’s Bakery has been popping up on social media like wildfire and since the girlies were down in Croydon, I decided to take them by the bakery to check it out. Walking in, we weren’t sure if we were in the right place since we were expecting a place filled with doughnuts from the bottom up. It was an ordinary bakery and saw the little sign on top so we definitely knew we were in the right place.

Seriously, who can resist death by chocolate? The dossants here are decadent, especially the Roche dossant if you're a fan of Ferraro Roche. No sugar diet can wait till tomorrow.
Good Food Good Mood
I saw Goldeluck's on Instagram and was inspired to head down and pick up a box of donuts as dessert to take to my parents house today. They clearly have a slick social media manager as you wouldn't have gleamed from the internet they are just a standard bakery under another unassuming name with 'Goldeluck's' being the branding on the donuts (or technically dossants) only. In fact I thought I was definitely in the wrong place until I saw a tiny section of the bakery carved out housing the dossants emblazoned 'Goldeluck's Bakeshop' (since when did we stop calling them cronuts?). Do watch out as they close at 2pm and we narrowly avoided missing out. They seem like a pretty yummy bakery in general and the dossants themselves were very impressive. At $4.50 or $5 each depending on the flavour chosen I think they were pretty reasonable considering Doughnut Time is over $6 (my partner still though it was ridiculous). They could consider doing a loyalty type offer like DT does like a buy 5 for x price or what have you. Who would have thought we'd find Australia's first 24k doughnut in Croydon of all places?! I wasn't prepared to spend $15 on one donut but I do like the idea of their Ferraro Rocher dossant style cake for $39. Great idea for a birthday or occasion 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩

Looks like a basic bakery at first glance.
The dossant offerings are definitely not basic.

This place caught my attention with their show stopper doughnuts and dossants.
The dossants are definitely a winner.

When I bring a box to work they are normally gobbled up within minutes.

Surprisingly enough they take EFTPOS which I rate quite highly when a bakery does this

The banh mi here are not bad and fairly good value for money in terms of a quick lunch. The cronuts look pretty special, although, perhaps not as good as you'd hope them to be. They're worth a try but I'd probably recommend the donuts (e.g. white chocolate raspberry) more.
Foodie4Melb
The bessssstttt dossants ever. Love the donuts here as well. Always fresh and generous in size. Its hard not to be tempted regularly when work is so close 😍😍
DamoForce Food
Out in Croydon is this little everyday bakery! We came across an FB post of their Dossants, which looked amazing! Pretty good, a little xy but they don't leave you overally heavy

We stopped in on our way to Olinda for one of their famous Dossants (cross between croissant and donut). They are trademarked, yet the Internet has many references to them, so not sure how that works. Anyway, the Dossant was not soft and yielding like either a croissant or donut. The pastry element was tough/hard, almost like a half risen puff pastry. The fillings were adequately sweet, but I won't be going back.
Eating With Ebony
Was craving donuts and I had heard really good reviews about this place so I went to check it out. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and approached by friendly staff. They helped me make a decision and in the end I got golden gay time, Tim tam, Nutella and Mars and I think bubble gum. The bubble gum is my favourite! I'm a total sweet tooth and it was so sweet! All of them were great. Definitely come back to try the other flavours
Jasmine
The dossnts are bloody amazing. Definitely worth traveling 30 mins, to get here just to get some dossants, worth the price! The services is great!

You know, I understand where TheHungryCouple are coming from. The social media posts are really well crafted, to Goldeluck's credit. But they don't hide that they are a small family bakery so let's not be snobbish about that. As a recent local who has found herself here after living in the city it's so refreshing to have someone do something so exciting!

The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I've had both the cookies and cream and the pistachio (I think, it was topped with pistachio anyway) cronuts and they were absolutely beautiful. Really flavorsome, delicious and sweet without going into feeling sick territory. My boyfriend isn't fond of desserts and he absolutely loved them as well. I'm not sure about the rest of their goods as I go there for the cronuts.

Goldeluck's Bakeshop is just your little everyday bakery! We came across a suggested post on Instagram of there famous Dossants, which looked amazing! We went in there on an early Saturday morning, it was very busy for a tiny bake shop but they had lots of staff on so naturally service was very quick and staff were friendly. The food was fresh but it wasn't as tasty as we had excepted, we bought one of each flavours of the Dossants which looked amazing but didn't have much flavour, and pretty plain, even though there was loads of things packed on top. The pies were pretty nice, the steak pie filling was ok, a bit gristley-not the best we have had. The pastry was a bit thin. The Broccoli & Cauliflower pie was delicious- light & tasty!

TIP: Do try the Broccoli & Cauliflower pie! If your going to order a Dossant, do order the Fairy Floss Dossant- is has the most flavour! Don't order the mini Nutella doughnuts-basically just a doughnut hole with hardly any Nutella ☹️️

Not at all what's advertised. It's a regular bakery with few decent donuts. Cheap but you get what you pay for. Plenty of different and regular pastries which makes up from the lack of decent ones
Soya Sauce
Who would a thought, there was a pastry paradise in Croydon?! A huge selection of donuts, cronuts and the DOSSANT!! Oh my the dossants!! Try the Ferrero Roche one - you won't be disappointed. Love the pies, vegemite scrolls and pork rolls... And if you want a great cup of coffee, look no further than here. It's coffee that rivals the baristas of Fitzroy and Brunswick. Give this little gem a visit, if you're in the area.

I had been seeing their Facebook advertisement for month. The fist time I paid this bakery a visit but the cronuts was sold out. It was a pity that a week after I even had a dream about their cronuts. Lol
Today I msg their fb accounts to order, then finally pick up these delicious things . I have to say I haven't try too many cronuts since it got so popular, but the size of the cronuts is definitely bigger than I thought. I got a green tea one , A plane one, and the latest creation the Nutella one .
I have the green tea cronuts right away and it was really good . Sweet of course. But what really impressed me is the Nutella one . When I bite into the Nutella cronuts , I can still feel the crispy shells that just came out from the deep fryer. Probably it's just fresher than others . But don't get me wrong , nothing wrong with the other 2 flavors . The owner said they made the cronuts freshly everyday.
Meanwhiles. It's quite a reasonable price in comparison with other high end cafe. It's definitely worth of trying , even though it looked like a ordinary local bakery(which is good too ). I do think they had made a good achievement by creating the cronuts.

I am in love with the Cronuts!! I can't get enough. I live on the west side but I will travel for them. Thank you for making them so heavenly delicious!

Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent and attentive service. And there there was the food where i ordered the pork roll which was really good. Definitely will be coming back!

Came here after the buzz surrounding their newly introduced Cronuts, and Goldeluck has definitely lived up to my expectations! The food is fresh, delicious and inexpensive. They are always coming out with new ideas to satisfy their customers' tastebuds and to cater for those with a specific diet. There are plenty of options for customers who can only consume low-gluten, are lactose-intolerant, vegetarian or even vegan (small, jam ball donuts)! The staff highly regards their customers, and it is shown through their friendly and communicative attitudes. I've been coming back to the bakery frequently, for it is difficult to find a good variety of food and bubbly staff members all in the same place!

Amazing food. Good for a quick bite or a coffee out on the patio on a sunny day. Had pork Vietnamese Rolls and loved it! Their cheese sticks are one of my favourites.
Tim
Came in here for a quick bite and was greeted by super friendly staff. Grabbed a beef and cheese pie and a bag of nutella donut balls. The pie was hot and fresh and the donuts were ace. Sat outside to enjoy some sunshine. Went back for seconds. A++++
