Had breakfast with a large table of 20 yesterday 10/04
All the food arrived very close together and and everyone was extremely happy with the food and service. I had the French toast and it was amazing. Considering we were a large group it was no problem for the staff.
Highly recommend
Awesome place and friendly staff. We spent the morning photographing the beautiful Currumbin beach and finished having breakfast here. Great food great people
My perennial favourite place to hang out. Great food and coffee and the perfect location. Excellent staff and an awesome vibe make it a great place to be any hour of the day
Fab meal, would highly recommend. Great food and service๏ฟฝ
The food, the view and the lovely service never fail to impress. Can't wait to come back!!
An excellent place to farewell or welcome visiting friends. Stunning location, the Crispy Pork Belly & seared scallops tasted as divine as it looked. Delicious food.
Had a large group of people for my mums 50th birthday and was amazing. Food, service and voews spectacular!!! Thank you
We dined here for breakfast this morning and were able to be seated at a table with a beach view. We had a friendly main waitress but the one who delivered us the meals wasn't very happy... Anyway, the green juice was ok but had a little too much ginger. The meals were lovely - I had a quinoa tempeh salad and added a poached egg. Reasonable prices.
Loved this place! Staff were amazing, food was delicious and the ambience was perfect! Well worth it. Had the goldband snapper, crispy pork and chocolate /raspberry mousse. Combined witha lovely red wine (as suggested by our waiter) and a beautiful cool crisp night, i couln't recommend this little treasure more for a lovely intimate dinner :)
Beautiful outlook over the Currumbin beach, the staff here are amazing, extremely friendly and helpful. Been coming here for 2 years now and each time I have visited the food has improved! Great place to come with family and friends both their breakfast and dinner are great!
The Crispy Pork Belly, Oysters and the Green Risotto are amazing I highly recommend them!
We found this little gem while we were on holidays and was perfect. The best Morton bay bug I have ever had which is saying something as I love seafood and always will try the bug if it's on the menu. The salad and dressing it came with only complemented the bug. Across the road from the beach, the view was spot on. Going back to currumbin very soon and I look forward to visiting this place again
Had a coffee with friends after Swell and can recommend the cappuccinos and flat white for getting it right. Didnโt eat this time but have had good food in the past. Great spot, friendly staff and prompt service.
We had the perfect dining experience here today. Waygu beef was cooked to perfection which made a delicious, well balanced and refreshing salad. Sticky lamb ribs was very well marinated and the flavours went well with the salad and yoghurt. The staff were also very prompt and friendly. I would recommend dining upstairs as you get a beautiful view of the beach with a nice cooling breeze.
Upstairs atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. "Avocado Toastalicious" was delicious! Chai Latte was yummy!! Friends also enjoyed their meals and drinks.
We were looking forward to morning tea, but as the menu didn't cover morning tea options, we ended up eating breakfast as it's served till midday.
As I sit drinking my coffee at well established icon Elephant Rock cafe in Currumbin on the Gold Coast I see whales breaching off shore from ER's top deck. Shielded by white sails from the bright QLD sunlight I feel like I am out on the open ocean as my gaze follows the glistening water extending to the horizon. Another whale slaps the water with an errant fin, surf ski's launch through the waves and sculptors begin setting up their creations for the annual Swell sculpture festival on the grass stretch in front of the beach.
Elephant Rock is as much a part of the Gold Coast culture as Surf Life saving, surf clubs and nippers. ER sits nestled amongst other restaurants, cafes and shops on its own separate coastal strip overlooking Currumbin Beach and friends over the years have often suggested 'heading to Ele Rock for a cuppa', followed by sunbathing and a swim in the ocean.
Following the passion of Gold Coast locals for healthier lifestyles and a wholistic approach in their thinking many restaurants and cafes on the Gold Coast are sourcing Organic and often local produce to enhance flavours and the quality of dishes served. ER's head chef Ollie personally heads down to the markets to handpick fresh fruit and veg while ER's Coffee is both organic and aromatic leaving a smooth and fresh finish on the palette; it packs the punch of a stronger coffee without any of the lingering bitter aftertaste of other strong blends.
The menu is diverse while accommodating a wide variety of tastes and dietary needs. For breakfast my favourite is the scrambled tofu; a delightful vegetarian breakfast option with lightly fried tofu, spinach & roasted veggies in herbs a delicate sweet soy sauce and onion jam, add a dash of cracked pepper and your choice of toast and your good to go. The presentation can be slightly different dependant on the chef but the flavors are fairly consistent. Despite this, all food is served with a sense of artistry and presentation and diners usually have a look of delight on their faces as their dishes arrive. Downstairs can be hot with the bright morning sun streaming in the glass doors. It is also noisy in the mornings as locals happily greet each other across the cafe and a dashing toddler and baby or two are thrown in the fray. So if you are looking for a quiet coffee sit closer to the bar or head upstairs to enjoy the view.
Lunch options combine a selection of meat, fish or vegetables. Try an entree of char grilled haloumi, roasted sweet potato, sweetcorn and zucchini fritters or E Rock hot smoked salmon, crispy lemon pepper calamari and sautรฉed prawns, follow this with the Char grilled Moreton Bay bug, prawn and scallop salad with dukkha sweet potato, avocado and salad greens or the Pesto Linguine with house made pesto, charred eggplant, roast capsicum and smoked olives, finish with a selection of cheeses and a white wine accompaniment or choose from a selection of mouthwatering desserts from the main cabinet. Burgers wraps and sandwiches also make an appearance for a lighter less classical option.ย
The menu evidences quality and imagination and offers up a range fine dining choices of an evening. At night as the traffic lessens, diners sitting close to the view at the top deck will have the sound of the ocean waves rolling across the sand as an accompaniment to their evening meal.
At Elephant Rock be prepared to be made welcome as friendly staff will ask you your name and introduce themselves. As they begin to know your preferences they will accommodate you as a regular whilst offering the same service to everyone who comes in the door.
The menu at ER is about to be revamped to further explore local produce and fine dining aesthetics with more streamlined options as ER continues to represent quality and presence amongst the burgeoning restaurant scene on the Gold Coast.
Stand outs- Stunning views, committed service, consistent quality in coffee.
Downstairs is not really worth it. It's hot too down there. Upstairs on the other hand is beautiful and well worth the effort. The food is about 6/10 maybe 7 on a good day. Coffee is about 7/10 which feels high but hey there is still 8, 9, and 10 out of 10.
Go there - for the view. The rest is good enough.
This has to be one of the best spots to sit and watch the world go by. The view is incredible. Food is consistently amazing! Never had a bad experience here. Relative pricing and nice staff. The breakfast bruschetta is to die for. My local favourite
Lovely Dinner. Enjoyed a casual lunch here so decided to come back for dinner. Beautiful spot with great ambience and all of the meals were delicious. Service was a little bit slow but super friendly. Would highly recommend. 9/10
My bf Had the best big breakfast ever here! Hash browns were so yum! I had pancakes and they were perfect! This place is great for price, location and service. New favourite cafe!
Had a lovely breakfast here. Beautiful view...great coffee and my eggs benny was perfect.
Fantastic lunch. We started with breads which came with garlic olives, balsamic and olive oil. Yum! For mains, 2 in our party had the salmon with sesame seeds and salad and described it as the best they've had out in ages. I had the fish of the day which was a thick piece of cod perfectly pan fried with vege. The fourth adult had the fish, chips and salad which was the same as the kids meal but twice the size. The food was all fantastic and was all washed down with a lovely crisp NZ sauv blanc. Our 6yr old, having finished the kids fish and chips, opted for chocolate cake. The serve was huge and the waitress convinced him to share - no easy feat. The small bit I managed to get was deliciously moist and went beautifully with a coffee. We lived this place. Keen to visit again.
Went here with 4 friends after a friend had recommended it. My friends were pretty unhappy driving 15 minutes whilst hungover to get to breakfast, especially as the traffic was pretty bad. We got there, the food and coffee came and they were silent. Probably one of the best breakfasts I have had in a while. Excellent coffee. Big breakfast was cooked very well, perfectly poached eggs, hash brown was home-made, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. 2 friends had the Breakfast Bruchetta with a side of bacon and were licking their lips afterwards. Topped off with friendly and attentive service and I would say we would definitely be back Next weโre down the Coast.
Favourite local cafe by far, nowhere serves breakfast this brilliant with a view to die for and friendly, happy & helpful staff, not to mention the reasonable pricing.
Great service here, waitress noticed we were a table with lactose issues and took it upon herself to find out if the bread we had ordered with our burgers was ok, its those little pro-active touches that make all the difference. Helped that our burger and falafel were delicious of course. Cake fridge looked great too, not much there for us though!! That's not a complaint btw, hardly anyone has dairy free dessert.
The food service and ambiance is wonderful. It is a pleasure to dine here. Wow a fresh imaginative menu.
Love it!. I had dinner here last week with a few friends and WOW!
Food was amazing, service was great, We'll definitely be going back. (Just 1 more dozen of tempura oysters!!! Please!!)
Service is great here..... We have been dining at Elelphant Rock most weeks for the past few months. In our experience the service has been awesome. We regularly are looked after by Linda who is super helpful and very friendly. I think the chef may be new as the menu has changed recently - food is still great but with a lighter style. I must say I did prefer the old menu but hey we still keep eating there! The only slight negative is the brought in cakes which are the same tired old ones you get anywhere. Problem solved for us - we just don't have dessert ;) I do wish the chef would produce a couple of in house desserts.....

When I do itโs always at a weird time when everything else has closed and I am always so grateful for a late afternoon coffee.
Picture your Sunday morning breakfast at Elephant Rock cafe, sitting on the balcony overlooking the ocean whilst feeling the glorious sunshine at the same time? No, our breakfast was not exactly like this, unfortunately it was rainy, grey and the covers were even drawn to protect customers from the rain and wind. We could not really see the ocean either as it was quite murky and wavy but we still ended up spending at least three hours here due to the cosiness of the place and our lovely waiter who kept checking on us but not making us feel as if he wanted us to leave (gotta love great service). I went with my BFF (who is a fellow foodie) and as we both love our bacon and eggs, we both chose the B & P, which is the bacon, poached eggs, grilled tomato & thick toast. All of this for only $12.00. I added extra hollandaise to mine, while my friend added extra avocado to hers. And again, we requested crispy bacon, which we both love! What can I say, they were cooked exactly as we ordered, se
Fantastic meals. Was very impressed by the service and quality of food. Staff were very attentive and accurately served our meals even with the changes we made. Menu has some interesting choices for something a bit different, and coffee was tops. Brilliant view of the beach too. Very impressed.

Fantastic lunch, we had the fish board which was an amazing grazing selection. Best meal we've had in the GC.
Had a lovely lunch with my aunty from interstate. Such a beautiful outlook and atmosphere, showcasing our amazing south east gold coast. This is the life!
Not much to look at from the outside. Just another cafe? No, this place is awesome! Service is 5 stars. Menu is varies, creative and very tasty. The cocktails are excellent value. Atmosphere inside is spacious, modern and romantic.
I'm going to forever dream of the Salmon Pastrami dish . Fresh and delicious food. Chill vibe and nice views.
Good coffee and cake with a great view. The staff welcomed us as we walked in which was very nice and the service was efficient. Then we had a short walk across the street to elephant Rock with some great views up and down the coast. You can easily ride here from coolangatta which is around 7k along a safe bike path
Set directly opposite the beach at Currumbin, very popular with the locals. Can sit upstairs on the deck great breeze and great food.
