Review Payal Indian Resturant - Dandenong

Smith
5 ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ for food but 2 ⭐⭐ for service over the phone as I had a request for different Indian bread with same price but was clearly refused......This is not even a big request since Indian bread without any filling is marked at same price but wish thinking about profits and displaying absolute low class customer service, wasn't expected out of Payal as I have been a fan of their food. This guy over the phone, would have been more helpful had he had known simple basics rather than just saying NO for everything......Hope for a better service next time, highly recommend anyone to enjoy their food ,if NOT SERVICE

the Indian food at this restaurant is the best I have ever had. The service is very friendly and welcoming, they make you feel like you are part of the family. An absolutely great night. Cant wait to dine there again. its 10/10 from me.

The food in this restaurant is delicious, soo tasty all cooked by an award winning chef. If you want an amazing dinning experience Payal Indian Restaurant is the place to be. I would have to say without hesitation one of the best Indian Restaurants in Melbourne. I would give them 10 stars if I could, they are that good.

Used to visit this place regularly years ago. Returned after 6+ years. Went on a Wednesday night when there were only a few diners, but took a long time to arrive. No problems with waiting for good food, the food was not hot and taste was average. We could not finish what we ordered. Quite and rustic.

Best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. If you want to experience the tastiest Indian food you must visit this amazing restaurant. We have now become regulars and won't eat anywhere else, the food is that good.

I don't understand the bad reviews. Best Indian restaurant in Dandy. Thick gravy, fresh ingredients and great Naan and even Rice was great. Keep up the great work! My go to Indian from now.

Bad service,Very poor quality food I have ever tried especially Naan are the worse in this restaurant. On top of that when I politely like to give them my feedback then the response from the owner was that "She don't care". With this kind of behavior I think that never goes well with the hospitality Industry.

Great food. This is our second visit here. We went on a Tuesday night and it was very quiet except for takeaway orders. Our food was hot and tasty and the waitress was super friendly. Will definitely visit again!

I come from England originally , and it tasted just like the curry I had at home on a Friday night after the Pub

After being brought up on curries from Bradford (uk) and having spent some time in India Payal will be getting my business again. Service, taste and quality are great

It is very disappointed experience. I ordered three currys but brought only two. I made a complaint but they didn't refund and bring one more 45 mins later. Main curry is not different from meal deals. It is exactly same quantity. Butter chicken was good before but not for this time. I think chef is different than before. Will not order again.

Ordered from uber check the quantity of raita with biryani and bassi manchurain very dry with only onions...don’t worth with price paid for it

**Review is for take-away only<br/><br/>SERVICE: 2.5/5<br/>Food was ready just after the predicted time. Satisfactory, nothing outstanding.<br/><br/>FOOD: 2.5/5<br/>I appreciated it wasn't as oily as what it could've been, so didn't get the sickening greasy feeling after the feed. The flavours were probably not as intense as other Indian places so if you're wanting a subtle introduction to Indian, this is a good choice. <br/><br/>(Mutki chicken) - Enjoyed the flavours in this dish the most. The chicken was juicy and had the distinct charcoal taste underneath the thick gravy. The coriander through the curry was really enjoyable... I love coriander though!<br/><br/>(Chicken tikka masala) - To be honest, just tasted like a simpler version of the mutki chicken. There was just too much gravy that the meat was drowning in there. <br/><br/>(Chicken biriyani) - I could go without this next time. Grains of rice were harder than I like and flavour was more bland than I'm used to. There was a good amount of meat in there which was good.<br/><br/>(Lamb seekh kebab) - Pictures online were deceiving. These were so teeny tiny. Can't help but think of the juicy Pakistani or Afghan seekh kebabs instead :(<br/>

Went for lunch. There is A very small lunch menu. We chose the non-veg thali at $13/head. Got butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, rice, salad, raita, with a naan on the side. A perfectly good, tasty, and reasonably cheap lunch. Happy to recommend Payal.

We love Payal. We keep coming back. Great food, great service, wonderful staff. Its not fine dining but it is great when you want flavourful, hearty indian food. Highly recommended.

Terrible. Despite being assured our vindaloo wouldn't be salty, it was inedible. The waitress didn't ask if everything was ok - not that she needed to as she cleared our uneaten food. She did agree that we shouldn't have to pay when I complained about the salt.

Had delivery from here tonight. Fed 4 people for 56$ and plenty of left overs for tomorrow. Delivery was prompt and all food was excellent quality. Superb range of vegetarian options and our meat eating friends loved the butter chicken. Thank you Payal Indian Restaurant!

Chicken Tikka Masala - Its ok, so so. Craved for Chicken Tikka Masala, ordered take away. The rice was so so, same as chicken tikka masala. Requested for Hot, but was more like mild.
The Roze Review
Good food room for improvement. Recently picked up some take away from this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. we ordered a butter chicken, lamb korma, rice, raita, garlic naan and chicken tikka. <br/>the chicken tikka was good, possibly a bit too mild and the green sauce was minty and fresh. great butter chicken, sweet and creamy. great for children who can handle a bit of spice. lamb korma was also creamy, perhaps a bit too much as the cream overtook the spices but the lamb was tender so it was still pleasent to eat. naan was clearly homemade and delish so was the raita and rice. overall yummy food but a little heavy on the cream in dishes. not that I mind of course :)

Great. First visit here , had the banquet and it was lovely , we could change the things we weren't keen on and it was not a problem at all. <br/>Great value for money , will defiantly be back !!

Authentic North Indian food at its best.<br/>Banquet is great value for money and can be sufficient for 2 people

Best Indian in the South Eastern Suburbs. Rich curries, authentic flavours, fantastic service, requests for spicy hot actually are spicy hot (not the Australian version of spicy hot, the Indian version.) The naan are incredible and I would travel from the other side of town for their Butter Chicken, Beef Madras, Saag or Chicken Korma. Other Indian restaurants pale by comparison.

The staff are so friendly and lovely, the service was fast and efficient and they have by far the best butter chicken Iv tasted in Victoria :)

Best Indian Ever!!. We were greeted with fast friendly service. Our entrée and mains came together which is what we asked for the Alu Parota was OMG to die for. I can still remember it was delicious we had the lamb korma which just melted in your mouth. I highly recommend it. I will be going back ASAP. The only down side the restaurant could do with an up grade. But sensational Customer Service and beautiful food the best Indian I have ever had. Great value for money. Thank you Payal Indian for a night to remember we will be back.

Awful Experience. It was the worst experience I have ever had.... We ordered the set banquet menu for adults. I was told by the waitress that we can not share the food with my five year old son. Basically the food I paid for, I can not share. Wanted to order a lunch special for my son so he wouldn't feel left out but only to be told that's only available during week days. Wanted to leave but was informed by the waitress that they had started to prepare our meals. After having to put up with all these non-sense, I heard the lady from behind ordering a lunch special and later saw a father and son sharing their meals. India customers were well looked after. Unbelievable!!! All along they were trying to rip us off and racist.

Payal Restaurant very bad. We had very bad experience ordering $22/person menu. The menu looks good but we were not given what was written in the menu. Very bad customer service. Food was delivered to us after 1 hour. Some curries were given after 15 min of giving rice and naan. Dessert wasn't given to us. Not satisfied, I will never go to this place anymore

Very good butter chicken!!!. This place is consistently good! We have gotten take away from this place about 6 times so far and never been disappointed.<br/><br/>Their Naan bread is so light and fluffy and pulls apart so well, and their butter chicken is a dream. <br/><br/>Prices are reasonable, and serving size is decent too. <br/><br/>Highly recommended!

Great taste, good servings and very good value.

Yummy. The place looks spartan with basic decorations and nothing too flashy to distract you from the extra yummy Indian food :) We had the tandori platter which had lots of flavour and was a generous size for 3people to eat as an entree. We also tried the Alu Bonda deliciously deep fried. Then went for the vegetable jalfrezi, chicken chenai, garlic naan, and alu parota. Everything was fantastic breads where light and fluffly and full of flavour. Curry sauces with thick and rich gravies.<br/>Also in the area is 1/2 a dozen indian sweet shops so you can find your pick of deserts a short walk away.<br/>Great service, extensive menu, and they do a buffet vegertarian brunch on the weekends. Try it right now!

I love payal. I love this place, the food is divine....butter chicken and mushroom curry my favorite...and naan cooked in the tandoor.... the people who run it are always lovely ...i make the 20min trip to dandenong because its the best indian in the south east....payal dont ever change

Been for years, ALWAYS coming back for more!. An indian friend of mine told me almost 4 years ago to go try Payal. How could i say no? Shes indian after all!<br/>So i went with my husband and its the best indian food i've ever had in my whole life. The vindaloo is sooo good, the naan breads, kadai chicken, tikka masala, everything is just deliciously good. Now the price: a vindaloo costs $14.50 and a garlic naan $2.50. Its BYO too and the bottle shop is right across the road.<br/>Yes the decor isnt fancy with its ancient tables and chair but the food is great and you get a real feel of India. I love it and will keep coming for more at least every couple of weeks or when id ont want to cook.

The best Indian in Melbourne. I visited Payal Indian today on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised. We shared garlic naan, eggplant masala, malai kofta and an entree whose name escapes me. It was incredibly good. The naan was perfectly fluffy and smothered in delicious fresh garlic. The mains were wonderfully seasoned. I live on the other end of town to Dandenong but Payal was so good that I think I will be tempted to make the trip down again in the future.
