Review Ease Garden Chinese Restaurant - Dandenong

Willow Tree
Ease Garden Chinese Restaurant is an absolute gem, hidden away in the corner of food court behind KFC at Dandenong Plaza. The food come quickly after we order. Everything we have taste delicious, authentic and use fresh ingredients. Loved and finished everything with high satisfaction. Definitely will come back again.

Have now been a few times with my partner, and this has become a favourite spoil for us. We typically order plates to share and they are always accommodating to this. Staff are very attentive and friendly, also willing to take a picture for us. the prices are quite affordable, I'm always pleasantly surprised at the total bill (including drinks). Dining room is well spaced out. Food is hot, cooked to perfection and we'll portioned. Highly recommended.

Have eaten here for years. Today ordered 60 dollars of food for a dinner. The meat servings were so small! Half filled usual containers! Expected better! Much better!

Good and cheap Chinese food, I was only dissapointed by the desserts, nothing good to choose from but had to choose one each because we had the banquet. choices between vanilla icecream or pineapple/ banana fritter with vanilla icecream... We tried both types of fritter and both were really bad, with super thick dough. Really need to pick up some decent desserts, its not that hard.

Worst experience... The fish was not fresh and when I escalated they didn't take it back or even bother. They say it's a standard way they prepare. Not going there again

I have been to Ease Garden many times through the years. Always enjoy their food. Authentic asian food (Cantonese/ HK), very similar to what we get in Hong Kong. Keep up with the good job!

I called to book a table and the lady manager was very patient with my questions about the menu. I decided to order the banquet menu for 3 person which consists of 4 dishes - lobster with egg noodles, beef brisket, crispy skin chicken and steamed barramundi fish. We were given soup as entree and the dishes arrived one by one. The lobster noodles was really fresh and delicious. The crispy skin chicken was also great. Beef was nice except there was a bit of fatty bits. The steamed fish was equally good with plenty of garnishes and sauce. We finished off with a warm Chinese dessert (fungus with goji beri). I asked for a few extra items (i.e. chilli, ice to cool down the dessert) and the waitress happily attended to my requests. She also make sure the tables were cleared after we finish the lobster noodles as it got a bit messy. This is a good place to bring a group of people to for a decent Chinese dinner within a reasonable price range.

Quite a healthy alternative chinese cantonese restaurant in your south eastern suburbs! Ordered the sweet and sour deep fried fish fillet and the prawns with stirred fried vegetables with ginger and spring onion (both pictured) and also XO seafood claypot. Not oily and not needed to drink tea as felt no msg or sth. Right amount of salt and ingredients. But beware the XO seafood claypot or other typical XO dishes, is very chilli spicy. If you can take, good, if not, real struggle to finish it. I dont remember XO sauced dishes being so spicy...so minus 1 point off to an otherwise great chinese cuisine.

From the moment we sat down we were asked if we would like a green tea. I said leave 4 cups as we had 12 at the table and someone might drink it. The waitress poured the tea without even asking. There were only 2 menus for the 12 of us to share. The waitresses seemed too busy to ask anything of them. My brother called during the day to ask if it was BYO, was told, yes. My brother took drinks other than wine. Bringing with him drink in cans, he was told he was unable to drink them. I brought a bottle of wine. Was not offered a wine cooler. We ordered a banquet. The food was good. At the end of the banquet you were able to have tea or coffee. The waitress said that because we had tea at the start of the night, that was part of the banquet. Even though the tea was offered and poured without the waitress knowing we were going to order a banquet! Service needs a lot of improving if they are to get any positive feedback from me or my family. Not a very pleasant evening.

If you want a grown up meal at the Dandy plaza this is where you should go. As good as Chinese you will find in China town without the crowds.

Tasty Chinese restaurant, which surprisingly is in a shopping centre. Truly delightful dishes which aren't heavy on the wallet. The set dinner meals are also a good deal with a lot of variety. I'd recommend their stuffed beancurd and crab/lobster noodle.

This restaurant serves the more traditional kind of Cantonese dishes. Dinner banquet is preceeded by a simple light soup, and finished off with a sweet dessert soup. Most dishes here are well made, expected as this place has been around for a long time. Some dishes like crab with spring onion sauce on noodles is delicious. Many others, such as salt & pepper chicken ribs, are edible but not outstanding.

Service is quite fast and waiters are polite. However they add a surcharge for all credit card payments, so it's better to bring enough cash.

Dined here last night for a large family function and the food exceeded my expectations although slightly on the saltier side. The pippies in XO sauce with Chinese doughnuts and the ginger crab were the winners in terms of taste and texture. The salted duck was perfectly seasoned and tender. Overall the food was authentic and cooked with care. The service was the let down with the wait staff being less than enthusiastic about having to serve our party that night . A good choice if you are looking for a very casual Chinese meal out if you are close by otherwise would not return given the great Asian fare in the area.

Gippsland customer. We have been coming to Ease Garden for lunch over a number of years. Very quiet mid-week. Food is always top class and promptly served. All staff have been Chinese so atmosphere is very Chinese. Prices are reasonable. Service is adequate.

We have eaten here many times. The food is just fantastic. This visit, however, our service was appalling, wrong drinks, wrong food and absolutely no apology or feedback from the waitress. The opportunity to relax over an additional bottle of wine or desert never happened. Entree plates and pre dinner drink glasses still on the table when we left as were all the main course plates. We felt extremely unwelcome and even asked the waitress if she was unwell as we were concerned that her service and attitude was bizarre. She had no response and continued to squeeze dishes onto an already overcrowded table, full of used plates, without indicating or explaining what each dish was. No bowls or chopsticks, just the used entree plates and cutlery we started with. Again, food was fabulous, but an evening spoilt by service that was not just bad, but unbelievably bad.

Great food, great price. Ha.... Great food, great price.
Having lived in Taiwan and eating a lot of Chinese food I can say confidently that the food here is good for the price the prawn dumplings were great!

We went there last night and found the food was very nice but it lacked service. They left the used fork from entree on the table expecting you to use it for your main course. The dishes were very small for what you pay for and I would not go back again or recommend it to anyone. Simply rude service

Hmmm, not the most fabulous ambiance, and the a la carte menu not so cheap (especially the seafood) so I was hoping the food would make up for it. The salt&pepper squid was good, tender and well seasoned, the omelette, & satay skewers ok, but the lemon chicken was a bit of an over processed, super-fried abomination in a sauce that was just about made of plastic... Overall I thought it was well overpriced for the experience.

Underrated gem!. We've just come back from a fantastic dinner at Ease Garden for the first time. Throughout the night the wait staff were prompt and attentive and the food was quite tasty. If you get the chance, try out this hidden gem as it is absolutely worth it. Top job, we will definitely be back!

Where to start? The so-called "freshly made" prawn crackers were stale and chewy. The crew onboard were unbelievably slow, even forgetting to bring over the rice bowls. The carpet underneath our feet was wet from the leaking fish tank. And we had booked two weeks in advance and still managed to get the worst table placed right in front of the entrance. To top it off, we were told that if we paid by card and didn't pay by cash, we'd have to pay $10 extra.

Affordable. Very affordable Chinese food.
Portions are not extremely big, but you get what you pay for.
The food is tasty however.

The best restaurant in Dandenong. The Yum Cha lunch set is really nice and cheap.

The egg tart & prawn dumplings are nice, yum cha dim sims are all cooked when order. Good Chinese restaurant in Dandenong! A hidden gem in town

Best Chinese ever! Service is fantastic, try the Cantonese beef, and spring rolls!

This was the XO prawns. Again plenty of veggies which I like to keep things healthy. Not too spicy for a XO sauce which is good so it's more palatable for young and old. Chinese vegetables with Beef. Once again, the veggies were plentiful and crisp. The beef was tender. This was my favourite - the stir fried spinach in soup stock. The goji berries were a nice addition. This was the deep fried fish with a sweet corn gravy. An old Chinese restaurant staple. Lastly, we had the tong shui which was a white fungus with goji berries. I don't normally drink tong shui as I find them too sickly sweet and claggy. This one was very refreshing with the white fungus. Verdict: we loved it! Overall As I did not pay for this meal, I don't know the break down of the costs. However I was told it was $120 including tips for the seven of us. This was a great satisfying meal and I will definitely come back.
