Highly recommend the chicken shahi korma and 2x plain naan. Certainly one of the most fragrant and balanced curries that I've tasted.

Felt like India Again. If anyone knows, food in India is absolutely fantastic the way it tastes its fantastic
I had the butter chicken at Chandni Chowk and it reminded me of India, it wasn't sweet like all restaurants in Melbourne, and it had a great flavour.
Not only that, another thing I noticed the authenticity in the food, each dish had a different flavour and was absolutely amazing

WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMENND IT

KEEP IT UP

Best restaurant in ‘Little India'. I’ve been visiting Andy at Chandni Chowk for some time, and decided to tell everyone of the fantastic food offered there. I’m always greeted with a smile and served in a timely manner. Try the ‘Bhuna’, I did today and was very impressed.

Awesome authentic Indian in Dandenong. Highly recommend. I have eaten here twice now, it was that good, I forgot to write a review the first time. I had the lamb vindaloo, with naan and onion salad and it was hot but not overpowering. This time I had the lamb taak tok, with onion salad, naan and rice. This is hotter than the vindaloo but with much more flavour. The staff are friendly and happy to discuss the food and cooking methods.

Cheap price for a rich indian meal. I was recommended this place by an Indian friend so decided to go one afternoon to check it out. I have been to many Indian restaurants and cafes but this place has really topped them all. The biryani especially is probably the best I have had so far. I also had chaat (my friend especially told me to have this) and truly it was so tangy and felt fresh. Food was not pricey at all either. Overall, a very satisfying experience, and I will be recommending this place to my crowd.

Some friends and I were wanting to try some authentic chaat and Indian food one night and so decided to venture to Dandenong. We stumbled across this small restaurant which seemed to look quite authentic. We were surprised by the extensive menu and so tried some curries. We were all very satisfied with the food - the stand outs were the goat curry and naans (Perfect and crisp!!) being Indian i can confidently say this is one of the few restaurants that does everything so well. I am excited to return and try the other menu items (in particular the chaat) which I believe is meant to be excellent!! Definitely recommend this hidden gem

Quality Indian food and a Melbourne Chaat Frontier. After living in Melbourne for 25 years and often finding myself scouring the inner and outer suburbs of Melbourne for a decent Delhi style Chaat place, I had given up hope with all the types of chaat I had tried through Melbourne being very different to what I had expected.
As often the case the Chaat had been westernized and dulled down to cater for a more Australian audience. Firstly to define what Chaat is, Chaat is a type of food which can be described as savoury snacks which are typically served at road-side tracks from stalls or carts in India. Street food.
So once again I found myself wound up in little India on a Sunday for lunch.
Dandenong, also referred to as little India is a place i often resorted to for some decent and authentic Mugalai food.
Amongst the familiar faces of Quick Eats places an old option emerged "revamped" - The old Amritsar sweets (a place i used to visit often for the Parathas) had been transformed to Chandni Chowk Chaat corner.
I was excited seeing a new Chaat place open up, I tried to lower my expectation as by now I had trained myself for disappointment.
The name, aside from being a tongue twister was placing memories of the infomas locale of "Chandni Chowk, Delhi" A place filled with so much history and culture that it lays the foundations of Delhi. Aside from the cultural aspect of the suburb Chandni Chowk is famous for the unchanged and delicious foods, if you ask most people from Delhi they can send you on a verbal tantalizing adventure of the delicious foods, Chaats, and unchanged delicacies that Chandni chowk is famous for.
Seeing the name of the place brought back memories as well as inducing me to salivate as i thought of the food potential it was claiming to offer. Just seeing the name of the place had placed a big call on, and set expectations pretty darn high. I entered, the place resembled the quick eats places which were neighbouring, and there was a sweet counter as well as the standard quickeats tables and chairs. What quickly drew my attention was the Chaat counter. A traditional Indian "mutka" or clay water pot which contained the tangy liquid or "Pani" for the dish "Pani puri" this had me impressed, no real other "Chaat" place had something reflecting this traditional means of keeping the "pani". I then also realized the sweet counter that I had dismissed had something unique, aside from having the standard "Burfi" the sweets were made to look very attractive with a Burfi shaped as a watermelon - along with the seed, as well as a beautiful looking apple shaped Burfi. Thinking already about dessert and the sweets I was going to take away for my family, I sat down to order.
The menu aside from the Chaat contained the standard North Indian Mugalia dishes with the back page dedicated to Chaat items, I contemplated having some mains just to give them a shot although as upon entering the place my hope of finding a decent Chaat place were aroused once again and after a long time searching I was not disappointed!
I ordered the Pani Puri - which was great, the water or "Pani" was exactly like the stuff I got back home - not too spicy and tangy just the way it is supposed to be. I liked it so much that I ended up ordering another plate. Once I was done I Had the "chat papri" and the suante or the sweet sauce was once again how it was meant to be, perfect amount of sweetness and thick - just perfect.
By now my chat craving was satisfied I was on a natural high. For once I had found a chaat place that had not disappointed but rather impressed me.
I then ordered some food, just for a taste I was pretty full by this time. I ordered some Chicken Tikka Masala (CTM), which looked and spelt amazing, one thing I had noticed was that it was not as oiley as the other places I had been to. It tasted really nice and the smell was so fragrant, I ended up eating half of it and taking the other half home and for lunch the next day (it actually tasted better the next day). Another thing that impressed me was the Naan bread, it was fluffy, light and great for a winters day. Both the CTM and the Naan made an excellent lunch. I left the place stuffed and satisfied, but most of all overjoyed that i had found a place that serves authentic and tasty Chaat - just the way I like it!
The staff was friendly and very tentative with the lovely girl friendly and responsive. I had a chat with her and she seemed passionate about the food that she was serving.
I took away some sweet and impressed my friends with the random shapes - which none of them had seen before. The sweets were great and impressed my friends enough to say they would go there.
All in all I would recommend this place for snacks, a meal and sweets and if you go do try the Chaat. All in all a great place to eat authentic and tasty food, that I would say was fresh, fragrant and very very tasty. CCCC Ill be back!

Unexpected gem. After a Saturday morning visit to the amazing Dandenong Market, and having decided we just had to have Indian food for lunch, we stumbled on this small gem of a restaurant. Chandni Chowk, in Dandenong's "Little India" is in no way pretentious - laminex tables, an open archway into the next-door DVD rental shop (specializing entirely in Bollywood-type movies), and with the proprietor's family and friends all around, we felt completely welcome and at home. Three main courses - lamb rogan josh, butter chicken and a wonderfully-flavoured goat kadai, plus rice and garlic naan - were more than enough for the four of us, at a total price of $34.00. We'll be back.
