Review The Raging Bull - Darwin

The wait was long and the steak was tough. Toughest piece of meat I’ve ever eaten at a dine in, and the prawns were not cooked long enough. The Flavours were good but the execution of the meals lacked. Did not enjoy.

Pretty good joint for a feed. Is part of the Tavern. There are almost always specials on for a good value feed. The Tuesday steak is great for $5, does not come with salad or sauce but it still has value. Ribs were fall off the bone and delicious, also good for the money. Do yourself a favour and avoid the chicken wings, miserly serve of flavourless dried up skin and bones with barely enough black and gold BBQ sauce for half the serve. Was gutted, they really were a disappointment as chicken wings are basic and easy to do properly.

Raging Bull does not exist any more. The Parap tavern has kept the sign but Woolies now owns the venue and nothing else positive remains beyond being just another average pub with below average food owned by a multinational corporation.

Always love the cheap lunch deals. A good range for just ten bucks. Steak is ok, burger is much better. Loved the fish and chips and rissoles. Drinks are a little pricy to offset the food being cheap which is understandable. Watch out on Fridays though as all the local office workers fill the place up from midday.

The week before we were impressed enough to go back again.........last night (different staff cooking) and every meal we ordered was a dogs breakfast, except one the chicken parmy ...... what ticked us off was the fact that there was only one other table of guest! So it wasn't as if they were busy to get it all so wrong. The wife and I both ordered eye fillet med rare $35 each .......and we were both served steaks "well done" . Can you imagine our disappointment seeing $35.00 "well done steaks" served.

I have not been here for several years now and the changes seem quite dramatic. Gone is the classy restaurant that I felt a little uncomfortable in wearing my Hi Viz PPE, now the work clothes seem much more at home. Unluckily the meals have changed as well seeming more down market. The meal was OK, very filling with its own unique taste which kept coming back to haunt me for the rest of the afternoon. Maybe I will leave it a couple of more years before I try again.

Lovely food. Good service. Had fun on trivia night.

A pub bisto serving up huge gutfilling tradie meals without flavour or passion......at restaurant prices. Steak was delivered medium/well although it was ordered medium rare while the pile of undercooked vegetables provided a chewy, crunchy challenge. This was in an atmosphere consistent with a shopping mall. I'm not going back!

Saw the advertisement on tellie. It looked like the place to go for a nice meal. Booked a table for the night. Not at all impressed with entree of bruschetta and lemon fried calamari. Bruschetta had melted cheese, I guess there is a first time for everything. Next the calamari was tough and the coating tasted like raw flour and was very dry. Asked the waitress to let the kitchen know that the food was disgusting. Waited for mains. Steak ordered rare was medium, but fortune favored the kitchen here because it was a beautiful piece of meat snd therefore didn't need much attention. So it tasted nice purely because of what it was. Number 2 chicken ceasaer salad. Chicken on top of salad was burnt and reeked of garlic. Husband took one look and uttered what is this??? He had a go at it and stopped eating. Noone came to see what issues we had with the meals. Overall after paying $70+ for all this we would have been better off booking a 4+ star restaurant for dinner. Won't be going back and have already let friends and family know of our experience. Lift your game.

My daughter and I go here for meals a lot and have never been disappointed but tonight we decide to treat ourselves to the Lobster Mornay. Well, to say we were disappointment would be an under statement. The Lobster was so dried out, very hard to chew and what they called mornay was Monticello Cheese melted on top. We waited 1/2 an hour for it and it tasted like it was in the oven for that long too. The chips were cold. I told the waitress and all she said was "I'm sorry". I thought for the price it may have been a lot better.

If I can give 0 star or a -1 star for my food tonight i would. I ordered a $34 tbone and i am very disappointed. The steak itself has no taste and very bland. Mashed potato is instant, i would expect a real potato for its price. Mushroom sauce was also bland and not viscous. I was actually trying really hard to finish the plate, not that i liked it, but because of what i paid for it. Even so i wasn't able to do it cause it was really bland. The 10$ rump that i had last sunday was way much better that what i had tonight. Atmosphere as a sports bar is lively and good but the food needs very big improvement.

The set up is nice. Sort of like a club. The food was good. Schnitzel a bit over cooked but the Barra was perfect. Food service good. The barmaid does not know her wines very much and this is our second visit within 3 weeks. Sorry she was the same last time. The quiz night was fun and the waitstaff perfect. But it’s a pub so train your bar staff please

My family and I frequent this tavern, we live locally and it was an easy place to take our boys where they could play, we could relax, the food was reasonable and the staff were attentive and amazing! Until now!! After going to this tav for so long and recognising everyone (and them us) we just experienced the worst service EVER. From any establishment, let alone our local. The bar/ waitress was rude, abrupt and borderline aggressive towards my children. The amount of time it took to be served was outrageous and once finally served she was short and tempered. The whole experience was horrible! Thanks to one unknown staff member in a place we go to regularly we will never be back, and as two people who run local businesses we will be warning others also. It was beyond disgraceful behaviour. And to top it all, she was also drinking behind the bar at 1.30pm on a Thursday. Disgraceful & disgusting. Fix your eyebrows and your attitude lady!!! Focus on your staffs customer service parap tav. So disappointing.

Food was great. Air con a little bit too cold for dry season as there weren't a lot of people. Entertainment was excellent. Don't know who the singer was but he was excellent.

Normally love going there for the trivia on a Thursday night but the advertised event for tonight was cancelled so eight people could watch the not advertised AFL. So lose at least twelve regular customers for eight I've never seen there before who could have moved to the "Sports Bar". Not the best business move.

Worst meal ever! My chicken schnitzel was that black and burnt at the bottom , I had to scrape it off as it was inedible.

Went there for lunch today. Not only did they have hardly any stock, so half three quarters of the menu was unavailable, they did not honor the shop-a-dockets that we got from woolies. Highly disappointed!!!!

Used to be a fave weekly at least local but no more. Still good food and lovely staff but atmosphere really lets it down. Had dinner there last night and it was so loud with quiz night that we couldn't relax and enjoy our beautiful steaks with a little conversation. We finished and left whereas we would prefer to kick back with some post dinner drinks. Very sad but there's no shortage of other good restaurants in the area.

Shock horror. We walked in not knowing the place has recently been renovated. Two of us have returned to Darwin for our son's birthday. We were all looking forward to the great steaks we remembered The Raging Bull for. We sat for 10 mins, not knowing if we had to go to the counter or not. It now looks like an RSL with clientele to match. Sorry, but we couldn't bare to be disappointed so got up and left before trying your food. Mind you, we didn't receive any service.

Horrendous. Bruschetta, no, store bought Aldi garlic bread with diced tomato and melted cheese. No self respecting qualified chef would serve this trash

Good food but long wait. We were the first to sit down in the restaurant and order food but others who entered after us got their food served before us. Then also needed to remind them about our deserts that we had pre ordered. Friendly staff and good food, which is worth the wait.
Food For Thought..
Wasn't Up To Scratch. Long wait times, terrible steak that needed a chainsaw to cut it, and over priced. I could've done better myself.

Great food and atmosphere for a family. Will return.

Given it's joined next to a pub, I wasn't expecting a lot from this place... I have never been so wrong!

The food was tasty and plentiful, the staff was friendly and the entire restaurant had a good steakhouse vibe.

I ordered the Monday rump special which was cooked perfectly, duck spring rolls (sauce was beautiful) and a side of saluted mushrooms with a hint of garlic.

I'm a fan and when I'm in Darwin next I'll be back.

Great meal! We both ordered the rump, it came out perfectly medium-rare and was delicious. Very reasonably priced too.
