Good tasting tasty fish and chips. Stopped at two stars because of the well over charged extra items on the menu. Seriously charged $2.50 for a single crumbed prawn that was such a tiny specimen that it's a joke. Fix this rip off and I'll recommend at 4 stars.

Dropped in for breakfast at the weekend and wasn't disappointed.
The food was beautiful. This is a nice place. I've been here a couple of times and it gets better and better. Well fitted out.
Some cafes are trying hard to give good service. The staff at Captain's Kitchen are naturals and genuine which makes the level of service exceptional without feeling fake.
Highly recommended.

Shop advertises as being open until 9pm. We arrived at 8:35pm and were told that they were closing up and to make it quick.
Our first visit, so we took 45 seconds to look over the board, all the time being told to hurry up.
We ordered and paid for our grilled snapper and chips, were given a number (only one other person in the shop) and took a seat.
When the food was ready, we were asked for our number, which my husband had left on the counter. Only one other person had entered the shop since we placed our order. The same person who took our order ten minutes before didn't want to give us our food, as the ticket was gone from the counter. She finally found it and handed over our order.
Serious short term memory problems?
Really terrible customer service - do you want return business or not?
Added to this, a conversation was held in the kitchen, clearly audible in the front of the shop, complaining loudly about other staff members. Just because you can't be seen doesn't mean you can't be heard.
Snapper was rubbery (the lemon was a nice touch), chips were pretty good.
We won't go back.

A beautifully presented restaurant experience with very decadent surroundings and a great location at fannie bay on the banks of the Sea. The service was great and efficient, even if it seemed a little impartial at times. Although there was a little delay in receiving our main course the meat was cooked to perfection and absolutely worth the wait. Captains kitchen is renowned for its charcoal chicken and for a good reason!

We eat regularly at Captains Kitchen and have done so for many years including last month January 2016. Throughout the changes of management and renovations this long standing restaurant in Fannie Bay has maintained a standard of good quality food, service and friendly atmosphere. Recommend for starters the seafood tasting, Charcoal Chicken, Burgers and their Rice & Curry.
Sometime have to wait a bit more but fresh food that just cooked will make more happy.

Captain's Kitchen is by far the best fish and chip shop in darwin. Great value and service. And generous servings too. Highly recommend

Classic fish and chips snack bar and takeaway. Nothing fancy, good food just a tad too oily. Very expensive however for what it is. Fish burger, calamari, and seafood basket = $50. If not for the price would be 4-5 star

One of the best fish and chip shop I've ever been to! Had the grilled fish and scallops, so fresh, very well cooked.
