Probably one of my favourite places to eat on the beaches, food, drinks are bloody delicious and the staff are quality with top service. Always recommend this place.

Had the most amazing time here over the weekend. The food is delicious. We had tapas galor and everything tasted like pure magic. The jalapeno bloody mary cocktails were Devine.
Fantastic atmosphere , great views and friendly , bubbly staff.
We will definitely be back again very soon.
The waitress made good suggestions, it was very careful with the whole brand experience and I had a good time, food, wine and music.
Well, I was recently in Formigal, Spain for New Year's and that was amazing.
I can only say that Jah Bar Dee Why stood up to the satisfaction challenge ...... and some. The service and cuisine was awesome! Hats off to all the staff at Jah Bar Dee Why ladt night.
The only difference I had from my restaurant experience in Formigal compared to Dee Why, was that the temperature outside was a lot warmer . And instead of a view of snowcapped mountains we had sand and surf.
I highly recommend Jah Bar Dee Why to everyone.
Popped in for an after dinner drink and was well looked after, great service, great staff, can recommend, will definitely be going again.
As a regular visitor of Deck Bar next door, we were disappointed for the last time by their luck of service and waitstaff.
We tried out Jah Bar on 28/12 and were pleasantly surprised. The guy behind the bar was a great mixologist and the waitress was sensational. Nothing was too hard. We were served water upon arrival, given table service and then thay stayed open late for us.
We will be back, thank you ☺️
Great service and amazing food for breakfast. Couldn't recommend more.
This is one of our favorite eatery's on the Northern Breaches, wonderful spot opposite the beach, the service is great and the wine list is small but beautifully complimentary to the fresh and delicious tapas menu, loved it !!
Great venue. Had brekkie - excellent burrito and nice coffee. Service was superb. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food and service we received so I added a healthy tip to the payment. We've been there before and will definitely go back.
Great place to come and hang out on a lazy Sunday afternoon. They have a tapas style menu and some things on there are really quite outstanding. The fish tacos are an absolute must - highly recommend. It's a little on the pricey side and service can be a little hit and miss at times but really only when things are very busy. View out to Dee Why beach is fab - great place to bring visitors.
Two words: fish tacos.
Seriously, what just happened? explosion in mouth.... twice. That's right - had to get a second round of the fish tacos. Super friendly wait staff and really tasty bloody mary certainly didn't hurt either. I'll be back...tomorrow.
Great food. Great spot! Service slow at times. Gluten Free flatbread is amazing! Generally a good experience. Seemed a lil understaffed. Pork belly tacos are bloody amazing!
Little joint near the beach but its lovely. The staff are friendly and the food is pretty good too. Loved their potato and jalopenos starter.
It’s a winter Saturday in Sydney; where the sun still shines, no clouds in the sky and the surfers are in their line up on the break. We find ourselves in Dee Why and in time for an early lunch. The stretch on the Strand is filled with patrons soaking up the sun - like seals basking on the rocks.
I forgo the Zomato reviews and we find a seat down on Jar Bar - a Latin-theme outlet. We sat inside, where the soundtrack of Curtis Mayfield’s Move On Up and Gaye and Terrell’s Ain't No Mountain High Enough accompanies our dining experience. Someone plugged in their late 60’s groovy playlist.
This is our order:
- a magerita: decent but at $10 a glass, you’ve gotta hope there’s a couple of shots in there
- a barcelona beer: interesting but nothing to write about
- fish tacos: recommended by the waiter and it was Fab. It was constructed out of hard shell tacos and the texture combination of the kingfish and lime and the tacos was great (definitely one to order)
- Seafood paella: Pretty decent although wish we could have had more paella rice on the pan but the flavours were there and the texture was good
- Pulled beef nachos: can’t go wrong here its decent
- Empanadas: hmmm .. its ok but nothing like an Argentinian grandma would make
- Garlic prawns: hmmm … this was a wee bit overcooked and overdone for my liking
The service crew were decent and pleasant. Their recommendations were spot on and good. This is a pretty decent place, right on the Strand in front of Dee Why beach. A possible recommendation if you are in the area or in need of a fish taco.
Nice little tapas place right on Dee Why beach. Most of the dishes were pretty good and made fresh. The sangria was really good and was made in house as well, which was a refreshing change from the standard bottled stuff available elsewhere. They had a couple of dishes that I’ve previously tried in Spain but couldn’t find in any of the other Spanish joints I’ve been to in Sydney. The food does take time to come out though. A good place to try out some Spanish dishes.
Located on the streets next to Dee Why Beach, this Spanish Resturant is wonderful with the bonus of an amazing view. They offer a wide variety of Drinks (all alcoholic). Unfortunately they only offer a small variety of food, only like 10 options. The service here is your typical usual happy waiters.
If you're eating here, I recommend their famous Paella. Photos attached.
I went there for dinner Good Friday I sat at the corner table as you enter . I had to squish in as the poll of the umbrella was on the way and it was very uncomfortable to do that as a customer I would have thought that the management would take care of these embarrassing situations. The food servings were too small for the price and the cauliflower salad was way too salty. I would not re visit this place as I didn't like the condenseding remarks from the staff. The waitress said "this is our best table " the moment she knew everyone would have difficulty squizing in no matter how skinny there were. Sort out your seating i would say and let us decide about that. We also had the Albondigas the Kingfish, the Braised beef.
10/10 Great food and great service! Very friendly staff and a wide variety on the menu.
Shared the fish tacos, pulled pork tacos (special) patatas bravas, mushroom and truffle croquetas, and another special… tasty, crunchy, DELICIOUS!!!
Son called kids meatballs and proper potato chips GOATED (greatest of all time) 😂
Beautiful rose to finish it off and the margarita cheesecake is a must have 🙌
We’ll be back! Thank you!
This place is fantastic! The food is simply amazing..everything we ordered was incredible… the drinks are so smooth and so delicious, the bartender is a machine! The staff are all excellent and make the experience even better. Fish tacos are to die for btw xxxx
This is my favourite restaurant on the Dee Why Strand if not the whole Northern Beaches. We had an awesome lunch yesterday with great value and great service. The place was full (including our table for 10) but we weren’t left waiting for anything and there was always someone available.
The Tapas were excellent as always and there’s pretty much nothing on the menu that we don’t like. Plus the Paella (one seafood and one chicken and chorizo) are second to none.
Combine great cocktails (we cleaned out their supply of chili mango margaritas!) and a good wine list (and good value) and we have a great time every time.
I haven’t even mentioned the view, a brilliant outlook of Dee Why beach and the ocean beyond tops everything off.
See you guys again soon!
Great service with a smile and the food was exceptional. Was recommended the taco's and the quality was what I'd expect of Rockpool or other fine dining. Great drink menu as well. Took my Mum here for lunch and she was as impressed as me. Beach front views as well!
Super tasty and many gluten free options, including house made focaccia!
