Review The Brown Bear Eatery - Devonport

What a wonderful atmosphere and delicious brunch! I had the scrambled eggs on toast, which were whipped and fluffy, and served on real chewy sourdough. My partner got the Grizzly, which was generously sized and looked tasty. They played really enjoyable music and the atmosphere was inviting, with lots of young families enjoying the space together. They answered the phone for our booking quickly and gave us a great table by the window, where we could watch the rain while still being warm. A perfect morning!

Saturday is a day to unwind and relax. What better place to do just that than somewhere that serves good coffee and provides a smile and good service. Although a little small on indoor space, there is ample outdoor seating (for a sunny day) where your four legged family members can sit and enjoy the time together. The coffee here is definitely worth a second serve and the Corn & zucchini fritters yummy & large enough to satisfy the hunger. 4 stars here today, great food, coffee & dine in experience.

Staff are welcoming and efficient, coffee is good! They also offer alternative milk in store (from milklab) The cafe is pretty cosy, and I'm glad they installed some sound absorbing panels in the cafe. They have plenty of seats outdoor too so you can enjoy the sun while having good coffee and brunches! There's also a playground just next to the cafe for kids to run around.

The hamburger was nice but the pancake that I ordered was a little bad. I wanted to eat something sweet. But it was not totally sweet... but a coffee was nice.

Great food and coffee. Brown bear salad with pork and balsamic dressing was delicious. Quick friendly service too. Previously I've found opening hours or days a bit hit and miss so not always sure if they will actually be open for the 15min drive in to town, but that may not be the case now?

Visited one of, if it my favourite place to eat today for lunch with my partner. We both ordered off the specials board. My partner had the chicken dumplings in Asian broth and I had the chicken, bacon and halloumi burger with chips. Once again we were not disappointed by the food, it was possibly the best burger I have ever eaten and my partner loved her dumplings, it was fresh and delicious. Service is always amazing when we go and it was no different today. The one little criticism I have is my nutella hot chocolate could of been hotter. P.s. Thank you for recommending the bounty tart as a sweet treat afterwards it's so moreish and delicious. Shame I didn't buy more haha

Wow had the most amazing breakfast, recommend the egg bennie with smoked salmon, The hollandaise sauce was the best I have ever tasted. Awesome staff and a fantastic atmosphere. A must to visit for lunch or breakfast in Devonport.

Found this by a recommendation from some who thought we would like it and yes it’s amazing good portion size staff good place nice and clean. Fairly full with customers and more coming in so yes highly worth going here

Came for breakfast today with my fiancé and was very impressed.. The coffee and the home made beans were the best I've ever had. The presentation of both the food and the cafe was flawless and the only thing better than the food was the service! Thanks so much for a fantastic meal, definitely coming back and definitely spreading the word!

My mum, daughter and i went in for coffee and cake today, the service was wonderful and food was delicious. We can't recommend this place highly enough. I know we all can't wait to go back again.

Went down for breakfast yesterday and today and both time's well worth the money. So if you are ever in Devonport look it up stop have breakfast lunch or just get a coffee. Sit back and enjoy.
