My favourite place to eat out.
Have been going to the Cafe since Mark and Kristina opened the cafe. Love everything about the place, food, service, view, atmosphere, staff and it's a great place to catch up with friends. You never feel like they are rushing you away.
They always make children welcome. Thank you all.
1st time visiting this place, been driving past for 25+ years , the wife always says she wants to go there. Yesterday we made a trip out there just for lunch. Omg what a top little joint, its the best cheeseburger that ive ever eaten..... moist, flavoursome, tender, and the chips were very good.
Nice beer and every meal we saw come out looked huge and very nice...we'll be back very soon
We arrived on a very busy Sunday and were accommodated on the couches until a table was free. A large menu to choose from and there was no delays being served. Food, drinks & service all really good. I can highly recommend the pulled lamb burger and the sticky date pudding was to die for. Highly recommended.
I have been to Dixon’s Creek cafe bar & grill several times and never disappoints me the service is great the staff are very friendly and the food is good also the prices are very reasonable we will definitely be back
Cannot beat the great food & service here. Salt & pepper calamari, beer battered scallops and the pizzas are superb. The staff are all so lovely too. Going back tomorrow night for the ribs! It’s been 2 years since we have been up here and it is just as good as the first time. Thank you all
This place is just lovely. We were there for lunch today and the food was just amazing, the staff were just so happy, helpful and relaxed. We will be back for sure. Thanks for making our first experience a pleasurable one!
We went there on Saturday. This was the second time that I have been as it is a halfway spot which was easy for family to get to. Both times were really good with a menu to suit everyone The staff were friendly and the food was great! Thanks chef! It is a comfortable place and we didn't feel that we had to leave once we finished so we had a chance to catch up properly. Thanks so much for everything. We will be back.
Even though it was very busy, we didn't have to wait too long for our meals. The food was great, the staff were friendly , the atmosphere is very relaxing , over all we had a great afternoon there and will be going back there again.
The food here is wonderful, beautifully presented and generous portions. We went for lunch and enjoyed it that much that we came back the next day for the rib special. Spicy beef ribs with slaw and chips, we added 3 prawns in creamy garlic sauce and had trouble finishing. No problem, the friendly staff were more than happy to pack what we couldn't eat so that we could take it with us. You guys seriously ROCK and the slaw was amazing, love the dill. Going back for dinner again tonight xoxox
Great food. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very comfortable and accommodating to families. Or a couple after a bite to eat!!!
Amazing 5 star food!!! And dessert to die for. Love that kids eat free Mon and Tue. Lovely service with a smile.
Unbelievable meal seriously the best prawns i have eaten in a long long tine
Wow. What a great dining experience! The food and the service is exemplary. A down to earth menu, food made with high quality raw ingredients. The service is brimming with politeness and humility. It’s real and from the heart. I feel like I’m the only guest in their home...
First time I rated a restaurant five star!! Food was fantastic, we ordered 2 mains, $30 ea, the size was enormous for the price, unexpectedly amazing taste as well.
Came here with friends for lunch food was lovely and staff where friendly. Reason i gave only 4 stars we booked to come in at 2.30 as that was the only seating time they had. We arrived and ordered when our food came out we wanted another dish we where told the kitchen was closed. They didnt tell us there kitchen closes at 3pm and I wasnt very happy as they did not communicate this to us prior to booking.
Great location as it’s close to many wineries in the Yarra valley. Casual vibe, very friendly welcoming staff.
Big menu lots to choose from, I wish I had had room for dessert but the mains size of ribs was very generous! My partner had the mixed grill which was massive. Chips were cooked well, beer battered and crispy!
Not somewhere to drive to from for the city just for the food but would definitely recommend to friends if they are in the area at the wineries.
Definately worthwhile to drive there, almost 1 and half hour from town. The food are so well cook, especially good for meat eater...so many cuts and side dishes. My kids love them and we had a great weekend away from the hassle and bustle of the city. We felt liked we are on holidays. So relaxing.
Highly popular cafe in Yarra Valley - highly recommend to make reservations. Huge burger and you can expect it to get messy! Fish and chips is flathead.
Best best best meal in the valley! Great pizzas, yummy Asian appetisers and the food is very fresh! Try the local fish and chip night, great value for money and a good drinks list!
Stopped in for a Sunday lunch, really good Parma and my bf enjoyed his lamb burger. Quite a busy spot, waitstaff nice, definitely will be back.
We always enjoy the food here. Steaks always cook to perfection. We ask for medium rare and it is always medium rare that we get. Staff is always nice and friendly. Such a great place!
Solid cafe and grill here with an extensive menu full of local choices. Very reasonably priced and the fisherman’s basket and Yarra steak were amazing! The beer battered scallops, prawns and flathead were amongst the best we’ve had. The coleslaw salad delicious.
Mushroom sauce had chunky bits of mushroom but like all restaurants u will need to order medium rare for a medium steak or rare for medium rare. No complaints.
Place gets pretty busy on the weekend but plenty of spots for parking. Extensive choices for beer and wine too.
Nice place down in Yarra Glen. Ordered pulled lamb, Filet Mignon, Parma.. all three were nice, least favourite was the Pulled lamb. Decent good priced meals. Excellent service, will come back !!
My partner and I stopped in here for lunch on our way to a wine tasting after reading great reviews. We weren’t disappointed! I had the Gluten Free Veggo pizza and my partner had the Fillet Mignon and we haven’t had a meal this lovely in a very long time. Staff were so lovely and a beautiful view. We will absolutely be coming back!
Came here for lunch on a Saturday. The atmosphere here is great a quaint little country cafe. The staff were fantastic, polite, enthusiastic and helpful. The food was also delicious big servings, boiling hot straight from the kitchen and delicious. Would definetly recommend.
My favorite stop on the way to the snow! I always have the stake every time I pass by and it never disappoints me. Love the chargrill they are the best! Portion is very generous too. The waiters are all friendly and attentive! Highly recommend it to other guests!
Compliments to the chef, this place is a hidden gem.
Decided on the fillet mignon which didn't dissapoint because every bite melted in your mouth. I also opted for a side of grilled prawn which were just as delicious 😋
The drive here is beautiful and the chocolaterie is minutes away which is an added bonus.
Will definitely returning 👌🏼
A very cosy family friendly restaurant that is a great stop for meals whilst touring the Yarra Glen/ Valley region. Loved the shrimps with rice. Both food and service was warm and lovely!
It’s a surprise when I saw the teapot wearing a sweater. Really would like to get one but unfortunately it’s not for sale☹️
The pork rib is brilliant. The meat is slowly cooked well so it’s so soft and tender. The smoky BBQ sauce coming with the rib is amazing. Well match!
Bit long driving and I nearly thought I drove to NSW. The result can tell it worth the driving. The outside looks pretty ordinary and it’s a family restaurant but the food is nice.
PS you will also pass the chocolate factory to get some dessert.
Very cute place with a good amount of vegan and vegan options. Came here for lunch and staff were very polite. Cute for a catch up with friends or a pub type of meal.
Really nice staff and great location. The food was delicious and there is a wide range of food as well as a great vegetarian variety!! There is great fans outdoors for hot days. Would recommend for a nice lunch gathering.
This is the second time we have been here and it won't be the last. The service, food, coffee, drinks, desserts.....all great. I will add a photo with this review, unfortunately I didn't think to get one before I started eating BUT I did get one after and I reckon the picture will speak for itself. It was pork spareribs with chips and coleslaw and it was amazing!!!
Saturday lunch. Arrived about 12. Popular place withe the locals. Sweet potato Moroccon spiced patties a vegan dish. Husband had steak which was delicious. Kids had chicken burgers which look lovely.
Surprisingly good for a cafe/grill in the middle of nowhere. Friends of our suggested we join them there for a Sunday lunch, and even though it was a cold and wet day, it was packed. The meals we had were equivalent to a decent pub meal, whilst my grilled calamari special was excellent, my friends main meals were more average. Desserts were all good though. Even though it was busy, the staff were friendly, efficient and we were not left waiting. Would come here again if we were passing through Dixon’s Creek, but maybe not for just the meal.
It's a beautiful scenic drive to get to this place & once we arrived although it's not the 'prettiest' place on the outside, it makes up for it with FOOD!! Which as far as I'm concerned is A-OK since that's what we came for!😌 Peaking Duck Crepe with Hoisin sauce was delicious, crumbed calamari was amazing... had this special spice to it too which I loved (I'd maybe suggest getting 1 serve per person as you don't get much to share). Mains menu was impressive, sooo much choice & so hard to choose! Smoked meat options were beautiful, melt in your mouth, tasty sauce, perfect amount of tasty chips & the side of coleslaw was a pleasant surprise. P.s id recommend a side of onion rings!👌 Side Note: coffee could do with some TLC. Regardless... we'll be back!✅
Visited this cafe bar today and it definitely exceeded my expectations! The service was great and the staff were very friendly. The food was cooked fast and to a high standard! The scotch fillet was amazing - medium and cooked to perfection. The chips and salad on the side were delightful! We also ordered the pork rib and wow! Best pork rib I've ever had!! It was soft, off the bone, juicy and tasted amazing. Definitely recommend this place. It's 2 hours away from me but I will definitely be back!
We ordered a glass of house red, napoleon cloudy apple cider, a medium rare rump beef in garlic& butter, and a beef brisket in red wined sauce. All of them are excellent and we are in cloud nine for the amazing dinner. Atmosphere also very nice, staffs are friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back.
Our first night in Yarra Valley and to start our food and wine adventure, we stopped by Dixons Creek Cafe for dinner. The place was really busy. We were worried that we might not get a table but we were happily accommodated and seated quickly. Ambiance is very cozy and casual. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Orders were straightforward, I started with a glass of Shiraz which lit up my pallet, it was Yum! 🤤 I wanted more but had to restrain because I had to drive.
I ordered the 600g Ribeye with a side of onion rings and my Wife had the slow cooked Beef Ribs. The serving was huge! 🤤 😍 The picture doesn't justify how big the meals were. We didn't have to wait long. Service was very quick. The food were perfectly cooked. My Ribeye was perfect and the Beef ribs were melt in your mouth.
After our mains we decided to have dessert. My wife had the flourless Brownie. I couldn't make up my mind so our waitress recommended the homemade apple pie with homemade vanilla bean ice cream. Dessert was a perfect way to cap off a great dinner. Dessert was just right. Not too sweet and serving was just enough. We left the place Happy, full and very satisfied. I look forward to my next visit. Next time with friends and family. I recommend to arrive early as parking can be limited. Thank you for a great evening. 😊
Driven past many times before ... today was the day! Arrived around 1.30pm was busy ... seated quickly with a smile and very friendly wait staff. Menus and drinks service was prompt. The menu was varied and lots of choices. Hubby chose rump steak mr i selected smoky bbq ribs and we started with cheesy garlic bread. The bread was just delicious nicest Ive had for a very long time. Mains service was prompt, big portions nicely present on big white oblong plates. The meal was absolutely delectable... meat melt in your mouth smoky tasty. The chips crunchy non oily tum... the coleslaw was a little unusual with dill in it ... could have done with a little carrot 😀. Best meal in a long time. Hubby is a tough steak critic but he utterly enjoyed is steak too. Thank you for a lovely meal! Will be back.
Thoroughly enjoyed the ribs and shiraz- can't wait to come back and would highly recommend anyone in the area stopping in for lunch or dinner....
Try and book a table in advance as they were booked out when we came on a Saturday night. We were lucky as they managed to squeeze us in if we vacated in time. I ordered the beef ribs. The first bite was delicious and so soft and tender. I was too full to finish my dish but the BBQ flavour became overwhelming after a while so it would've been hard to finish anyway. My friends steak was cooked nicely though. Not chewy or tough like so many steaks I've had in the past. Very affordable for the portion of ribs served which could easily be shared between 2. I would recommend this place.
Really friendly staff, good service, great food, value for money, as well as big portions. Don't judge it from the outside, may look not to great but serves great pub food!
No poncy pea tendrils on a bed of quinoa here: just good old fashioned well done food! Extensive menu and good service. Portions are huge! Try the bangers and mash.
This place is The Bomb. Fantastic staff, great value food, local produce use and menu variety is right up there. I can say we had the best vegetarian pizza with persian fetta on top, that I've EVER had! And the salt n pepper calamari main was deliciou. Also had the parmigiana and the cheese and garlic pizza before and they're great. Even the salad is great, super fresh, great serve (and i Dont luv salad) lemon gelato a great way to finish. Weeknight specials and open everynight for dinner. What's not to love? Great value as well. Cant wait to go back. Id love to see an eggplant parmigiana on the menu (hint hint) so i can take advantage of parma night.
YUM! If you are a burger lover then you will not be disappointed! Absolutely sensational! Definitely coming back here. The prices are very reasonable too. The staff were very friendly and helpful!
Weekend away in the Yarra valley led us to try the lovely cuisines at Dixon Creek Smokehouse Cafe and Bar.
Had a potato, carrot and leek soup was quite nice. Other dishes salmon pasta, chicken Parma and steak were lovely. Sorry forgot to take pics !! Huge portion sizes and reasonably priced. Left with full belly's 😊
The vanilla latte creme brûlée was divine #yum # yum #yum
Loved the cosy decoration over the teapot.
Service was great, busy def need to make a booking to not be disappointed. Atmosphere was lovely.
We went for a 4 hours hike in the Kinglake National park and at 2pm, you guessed it: we were starving.
Once arrived at the venue we were not surprised to see how packed it was considering it was Mothers day.
We ordered their Ribs and the Pulled pork and despite the place been super busy, the food came out rapidly and goodness me how good it was. Not pretty to the eye but absolutely gorgeous to our tummies, smokey, tender and falling of the bone meat was all we needed to gain our energy back and put us straight into food coma.
We absolutely recommend this place if you are after humble, not fancy but fingerlicking food.

Good and varied meat, good sides, attentive service, basic setting. Medium-rare rumpsteak was prepared properly and was soft enough (7 out of 10). Worth the visit if you're craving for meat to complement all the red tastings.
Sep 24th: returned here for the third time and still really happy.
April 2017 First time here and it won't be my last. This place was recommended to me via a Facebook Noticeboard when I asked for recommendations around the Healesville or Yarra Glen area. This was recommended a lot by the locals so we gave it a go.
Well we loved it. Food was fresh and tasted great. I had the charcoal grilled lamb with chips and salad. As they didn't have have a mint or rosemary gravy choice, I asked if the chef could throw some fresh rosemary in the gravy. Not only did they do this but they handed me a bottle of mint sauce. Well I was in lamb heaven.
The chips were really nice and the salad was the freshest I have experienced in a long time. Highly recommended.
Excellent place to visit if your staying down this side of town.. large portion size meals, and great value for money.. Highly recommend A++😉
For a small country bar/grill
Meal was average, well priced for the area. What you see is what you get. Typical pub feed.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Food service time was average
Would come back if visiting the Yarra again
Pretty decent pub fare in the Yarra Glen. Service was attentive and friendly. And they were accommodating to my little cousins. Big portion sizes and good value. Steaks and the ribs were pretty good, but perhaps not amazing enough to venture all the way out here for. The additional bug tails were delicious tho. Decor could be updated..
Went here due to a recommendation from a local. Absolutely fantastic. Caters for the locals and tourist grazers like us. We had the slow cooked beef ribs. When finished, they looked like the dinosaur bones Dino the pet on Fred Flinstones ate 😊
Good locally made house wine's, friendly staff.
Take the time and go here. Its not haute cuisine or cutting edge food, but, good good, well cooked and great servings.
Fantastic country restaurant just out of Yarra Glen! Brilliant menu, loved the brisket and pork belly! The coleslaw was amazing! The service was great and it was a perfect night to sit in the indoor/outdoor area. Very homely and unpretentious! We'll definitely go back. We even had dessert! Lemon tart and lemon sorbet! Yummo!
Great place to eat for a road trip - they have generous portions and the food is very tasty.
There's quite a bit of parking outside and the staff are very friendly.
Will definitely be back again!

Unassuming little bistro that we stopped in at by chance, and luckily so because we were extremely pleasantly surprised by the smokey bbq beef ribs that blew our expectations out of the water. Nice and tender, we'll seasoned, not too fatty and came right off the bone - only complaint was that the meal was too big! Would have been happy with just the one rib as they were massive, and for only $20 on Wednesday nights (normally $27) I wouldn't even think to question the value.
When you try to imagine a great place to enjoy the scenery and the food, away from the city and on a weekend, Dixons Creek Cafe is exactly the kind of place you'd imagine.
With a very vibrant atmosphere, it is a perfect location for outings with family, and friends.
The staff are incredibly warm and patient, even with our big group. Despite the busy-ness of the place, the staff does its best to make sure they can provide good service to their customers. An example would be, anticipating how they cant keep refilling water glasses/bottles. Instead they have this fridge filled with cold water bottles that you can just replace your empty ones with!
Food takes quite a while to get served, so anticipate a waiting time ahead of your arriving here, especially if you're already hungry. Good thing we were right by the telly - it was a good distraction to while away the time. When the food is finally served though - oh my, all of it look so delectable, and definitely worth the wait. The serving sizes are pretty good - not too big that a lot gets left over, but enough to fill one's appetite. The food tastes good too (as we were foreigners though, we don't enjoy this sort of cuisine often so the flavors were somewhat new and more enjoyable for us).
Prices are pretty reasonable, considering the amazing location and scenery outside.
Would love to come back here if ever I'm in the area again.
Interesting place. Has a charm about it and it feels like time has stood still. A great variety of meals with something for everyone. Entree garlic pizza was delicious, and calamari solid. Chips were Roxie for. I ordered chicken Christine I think it was called. Really solid, not as good as other dishes. Wife's Parma was average. Overall happy
In short, this is a country pub with good food at reasonable prices. There's a reasonable choice of alcohol, and plenty to choose from on the menu.
Our table mostly chose red meat, as they have a range of Smoked BBQ Meats to Grilled. But, for the pretentious, there's no 8, 12, 32 month dry corn or grass fed signage here. I had the beef brisket (250gm) with coleslaw and chips for $20, which was awesome. Generally, places like this do one thing well, but on the way out I noticed someone who ordered a pizza and it looked awesome.
I would definitely come back here.
Beef ribs were amazing. Falling off the bone, smokey, and a generous serve. Would rival best restaurants in Melbourne and would drive from Melbourne just for the ribs. Humble little restaurant and a popular local hangout. One of the few places opened every night for dinner.
We discovered this warm and friendly casual eatery in quiet Dixon Creek on our recent weekend getaway. We enjoyed gluten free fish and chips and slow cooked beef ribs. Both meals were very good and the ribs were a generous size. The staff were very friendly and the meals well priced.
One of the "affordable" places to eat in Yarra Glen. We had rump steak and burger for luch. While the steak was pretty good (especially the sauce and the chips, the meat was okay), the burger was more on the disappointing side. The main problem was the brioche bun which crumbled to no end making the eating experience such a mess. It felt a bit soggy too.
Came here last night for a parma and crikey, that was some baller tucker.. The place was absolutely kicking and an awesome atmosphere.. Everyone seems to happy, this is a must stop if heading through Yarra Glen up to Kinglake.. My belly was bursting, my thirst was quenched, now time to hit some old gold mines for a night time explore.
I had been curious about this café for quite awhile and am extremely pleased that I was not disappointed. From the lovely sunlit terrace to the exemplary service, to the self serve water on tap, to the delectable coffee, to the hearty delicious food. Well worth the drive.
Good tasty pub style food. We ordered two burgers and they were very generous sizes and cooked perfectly. The table service was a bit sparse but only when the place was full.
Pizza to share & start off with were yum and thin. Then I had the calamari which was good but couldn't finish it as it was a big plate plus chips & salad. Then they brought out the chocolate fondant with a candle on it for my birthday which was nice!
Chocolate fondant was rich and amazing but those who don't like rich sugary desserts will not like it. I don't care I love chocolate :)
Had a great coffee here on a recent trip. I order it a little hotter than normal, not scolding, and it was perfect. Didn't eat anything, but heard nothing but positive things and the food that we saw looked great.
Had lunch with some family visiting from overseas today and was very impressed. Ambience wise it is a simple homestead style cafe which serves no nonsense, wholesome, hearty food. The service was friendly despite the busy lunch hour, menu options were broad and the servings generous. Above all the food was tasty. The roast pork with crackling was the special and it was cooked to perfection. Will definitely visit again.
Lovely food !!! and good customer service... nice and warm place.
Welcoming, attentive staff - great food. Very friendly staff, amazing food and a good size meal :)
A very big thank you to the amazing staff who made my birthday yesterday one to remember. I will definitely be back again!
-----22 Feb, 2015-----
Amazing food, welcoming atmosphere.. I went there today with my boyfriend for the first time. We were welcomed and given a choice of where to sit (inside or outside). My boyfriend ordered the honey bbq chicken breast and I got the vegetable lasagne. Both were amazing and the lasagne was so cheesy, yet packed full of chargrilled vegetables. It was the best vege lasagne I ever had. Next time I'll be getting the calamari as someone near us had it and it looked amazing! The biig portions made me very happy! :) will definitely be back again, perhaps with some friends to celebrate my birthday this year.
Great friendly cafe. We stopped here after being turned away by Mandala and DeBortoli. I am glad they were fully booked! This cafe looks like a pub but with the more personal approach that comes with a cafe. Friendly attentive staff who immediately are on hand to take an order. We spoke to the owner who puts her heart and soul into the place and it shows! Extensive menu to suit all appetites. My warm chicken salad was generous in size and delicious. Give it a go. You won't be disappointed .
Great Place. My husband and I discovered this cafe after purchasing vouchers on Living Social. I was so impressed I immediately purchased another two vouchers and enjoyed every meal on our return visits. The staff are so friendly and remember us when we return, very unexpected but very pleasing. I would recommend this cafe to anyone.
Country meets gourmet. I love this place. Great people and bloody good food.
Great service, generous serves of good food. Good place for a casual meal.
Top marks all round. Enjoyed lunch there yesterday accompanied by my elderly parents. Put simply the high rating is certainly justified. Very welcoming plenty of smiles and 1st class service. We had a Living Social Voucher for 2 of us (my father and I took up this offer of Rump Steak and Beer) whilst my partner Vikki and my Mum paid - started with a couple of the entrees to share being the Crispy Prawn Twisters + Salt & Pepper Calamari Rings (both delicious). All mains a good size and quality excellent. The girls had Beef Burger and Chicken Schnitzel Burger respectively, which they both enjoyed immensely. We will definately return. have passed by that venue many many times but not called in to try. This is the beauty of Restaurant Vouchers because you go to places that you might normally not go to - some good some not so good BUT happy to say this was one of the very good ones.
Good coffee and nice fresh food. Dixons Creek pizza was very fresh and great to share between 2.
Great value, warm and relaxing. Went for dinner twice during our stay in the area.open until about 9 and nice and cosy inside. they even have an outdoor area that is more like an indoor area, it's so warm with the patio heaters they spread around. had salt and pepper calamari w chips and salad the first night and all was amazing including the aioli and they chips-YUMMY AND CRISPY.also had the pesto pizza with balsamic glaze which was wonderful and a meal in itself. partner had the parma w chips and salad and it was crispy on the outside, moist in the middle and the ham added a beautifully smokey flavour. next night we had flathead tails w chips and salad. salad was as fresh as the night before, tartare sauce was a huge letdown though as it was a sweet bottled type and the tails needed seasoning is all. still nice. partner had a wonderful tiger prawn pizza which was fantastic. They have a nice bottled cider as well and their deserts looked nice. Tip- reserve the table by the fireplace on a quiet night and dine outside on a busy night.
Beautiful food. Simple but nice and cosy environment in the yarra glen. Recommend coming to dine. Friendly staff.
Great atmosphere, service.the steak was great at a decent price and was quickly served. Definitely recommend.
This place is great! my boy.... This place is great!
my boyfriend and I go regularly now, love the outdoor area, and the food is simple, delicious and Aussie.
Beauty of a place!!
Great eats !. No snobby food here. Value for money and tasty food. The staff are lovely and while the decor may be dated, it is still a cosy place within a great part of the valley. Highly recommend.
The ploughman's platter was great. There were 4 of us but they only have 3 bread rolls.. just small details like asking us if we would pay for another bread roll would have made it 5 stars. We also ordered the mixed grill with pepper sauce. The pepper sauce was fantastic.... Super peppery just the way I liked it, was sweating beads.... ordered garlic butter on the side, it rated like margarine, but they didn't tell us there would be extra charge for this. They also didn't tell us that they would be replacing our lamb chop with another sausage. A bit of a distinguished disappointment as I had overseas guests who ordered that specifically for the lamb. The replaced bratwurst was overpowering and couldn't be finished... All good for me as I delved into it on their behalf. This could have easily been resolved by letting the guests know beforehand that their was not going to be a lamb chop in the mixed grill, and asking ask whether we waged to replace it with the rissole or another piece of small steak etc, something I would have expected from a small establishment. Nonetheless the food was good and they did ask whether we wanted sugar in our coffee.
I would highly recommend this place! Great staff, excellent quality meals & beautiful location 10/10
Quite possibly one of the best pizzas I've ever had. We got a half veg, half capricciosa. Just don't make the mistake of trying to share one between two 'I'm-not-really-that-hungry-let's-just-get-one-and-share-it' kinda people because a) you ARE that hungry b) if you're not, you will be once you try this pizza, and c) they're really not all that big.
Good honest food cooked well. Well done guys keep up the great food. Will definitely be back
No complaints here! Friendly service, decent range of pub food and generous servings. Lovely view of the hills from the balcony :)
A serendipitous find! Stopped by for dinner on the way home from Kingslake. Loved the food - hubby said they make the best chicken parma he's ever tasted. I had the crispy skin salmon (they were out of steaks and lamb) and it was superb. Even the kids' meals - spaghetti bolognese (which I had a few bites of) and chicken nuggets were eaten with some enjoyment by our picky eaters.
Friendly, inobstrusive service. Lovely view of pastures and mountain range from the patio dining area.
We plan to be back despite the long drive from home. Best meal we've had in a long time!
Great service.... Food was to die for and all served in very good time and very reasonably priced. Would recommend this great place to anyone A++
Last minute drop in on a winters Friday night and got a table outside as they were fully booked but they offered 2 heaters and very accompanying.
Great food and great service. Will be back when around this way again.
We arrived at 12:30 worried it's be pack on a Saturday but pleasantly surprised they had plenty of tables free with outdoor heaters and an indoor fireplace.
The owner/manager was incredibly hospitable and as we sat down outside immediately brought 2 heaters for the 5 of us. After handing us menus he even gave us a map of Yarra valley to help with our day trip without us asking.
There were heaps to choose from. The food didn't take long to come and everything was delicious! The wedges were burning hot and crispy, I was happy with my scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and crunchy hash brown. My husband loved his beef burgundy pie and the accompanying salad was very fresh. My friend had the pumpkin soup which was so deliciously sweet.
They allowed us to split our bill and overall I was extremely happy with their service and quality of food. So were my friends. We'd definitely come again and give it 2 thumbs up!
Four of us went there for lunch and we were so impressed with the food and relaxed atmosphere. We stayed for three hours talking and eating, we will go back there again.
My partner and I were in the yarra valley over the weekend and was recommended by a local to check this place out. We were not disappointed, great service and food, and the price tag is very reasonable for the portion sizes. I love the fairy lights outside the restaurant. We will definitely return next time we're in the area.
I come here at least once a week. I'm a local and live over the road. Always get a lovely meal be it take away or dine in. I'm always well looked after. The service and food is always excellent. I'm so happy to have great food back in the area. Thank you! Done a great job! Will be back again and again! :)
Average. I think the reviews below must have been written by the staff. Went here for lunch and the food was average, typical pub fare... nice but nothing special.
They weren't that busy but we sat at the table for at least 10 minutes before even getting a menu to look at. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress didn't even bring the bottle over. She put two full glasses of wine on the table and then brought the bottle over! Then she asked if we wanted it put in the fridge to keep cool!!! Another waitress later brought over a wine cooler. Strange service indeed. But the prices were okay.
Mouth watering steak. My first visit to Dixons Creek Cafe and I'm salivating at the memory of steak cooked medium rare, just a I requested, dripping with garlic butter, and a truck load of golden chips. Happy, relaxed atmosphere with diners of all ages and great live music. I nearly didn't have room for desert but heroically managed the creme brûlée and was not disappointed. And did I mention that there's art on the walls? Definitely coming back.
Good food, good price with friendly service. Thumbs up. Once the gardens mature and give a bit more green shouldbe a nice stop. Hopefully more than Fat Yak could also sneak on the drinks menu.

Amazing. Is the only word, amazing food, had the steak it was perfect, beautiful lookout. Recommend to everyone.
Good Find!. Went for dinner tonight and all 4 of us had great meals.
Steak, chicken parma, grilled chicken fillet and ravioli - all excellent.
Fresh salad garnish with our meals, friendly service and very well priced.
A good place to go....
Lovely lunch.. Great sitting near the window on this lovely day in the Yarra Valley. Quiet today but would be a fab place for a group or a couple. Food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Good variety and sizes of steaks for different appetites
Seriously, do yourself a favour........
