Our dinner at Thai Eat was a welcome meal for a weekly "cheat night". Entree was two spring rolls, one curry puff and one skewer of satay chicken, for each person, all of which were of a good standard and served piping hot. The curry puff pasty was crumbly with a moist and appealing filling, chicken skewer was moist and tender. We actually liked the spring rolls with the tangy sweet chilli sauce despite comments by some diners.
Mains consisted of pork pad kra pow and a beef green curry plus a generous heap of rice. Both portions looked deceptively small when first presented but turned out to be satisfyingly filling in the end. The curry was full of flavour and heavy on the coconut milk, packed with ingredients, with tender beef cuts. As a minor aside, I found a notable amount of gristle in the meat, and the curry lacked the chilli heat that I was yearning for.
The stir fry was delicious with a hint of peppery spice and fragrant herbs, again packed with fresh ingredients, with a thick and sticky gravy. It would have been an even better dish with the sweetness dialled down a notch. Dessert was fairly ordinary, a serve of milky vanilla ice cream for each of us, with a single lychee underneath, probably from a can. Although dessert was basic, I thought the entire package was good value.
Service is brisk but adequate. A little tight on space and the decor was rather bland and unspiring, not that I would expect much more from a take-away joint like this. It gets busy here, so be sure to book in advance. Well worth a second visit.
Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars
Great Thai restaurant in Doncaster...Very friendly service, excellent food (we had the pad thai and curry) and reasonably priced.... will definitely be back!
Came here tonight with my partner and it was already half full, thankfully they had a spare seating. Make sure to book ahead of time cause the restaurant is small and will not be able to accomodate to you if you donโt have a reservation prior to coming. Entrees were amazing, crunchy, flavoursome and hot! Mains was a let down, the curry we had was number 25 with chicken, it was very bland and lacked flavour. Most of their mains were salty so we had lemon added on the side to balance the dish out.. that worked! Beef salad was the only main we loved. Will come back for only entrees! :)
Came here for the first time last night with some friends. The food was delicious, service was reasonably quick. We had the beef curry puffs, crispy pork belly with broccoli, massaman curry, pad see ew and soft shell crab with coconut rice. We were very full afterwards and bellies left very happy! Definitely will return in the future!
Food was perfect! We ordered through UberEats and it was like we were eating in. The grilled beef salad and green chicken curry were beautiful and so flavoursome. Canโt wait to go back
We visited tonight without a reservation, only a couple of tables left that were not reserved. Staff were lovely and attentive..
We ordered veg curry puffs, chicken spring rolls, roti + peanut sauce, Pad Thai with chicken and Massaman curry with beef...
all of them were 10/10
Canโt wait to return and try other items on the menu!
Recommend booking if itโs a Friday or Saturday night
Very good service and food. Great prawns and satas. Even better pad thai and curry. Followed by a banana fritter and coconut icecream. Cannot fault it and will be going back on a regular basis.
Went here for the first time tonight and will definitely be returning. Friendly wait staff, delicious food and very reasonably priced. If you're looking for a Thai restaurant in Doncaster then I can certainly recommend Thai Eat.
Recently reopened after a period of closure for renovation, this small road side eatery was located by Devon Plaza, Doncaster Rd.
Though the restaurant interior was plain and lacked ambience, tables were neatly dressed with cutlery set up, the delicious, well portioned food certainly made up for it.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced for sharing, eat in or take out.

Most importantly better Thai food, don't have to go far now.
Highlights were;
Thai Fishcake.
Crispy Pork Belly Stirfry.
Coconut Rice .... yum.
A suggestion to the Chef;
Massaman Curry Beef need to use CHUNKY not sliced meats and it would be perfect.
Pad Thai was okay too.
BYO too, yeah ....

It ain't bad ....
Good little suburbia Thai restaurant.
Not much in size, plain but neatly set up.
Thai hospitality; reserved, polite, pleasant, just a joy to dine in.
Food is genuine and wholesome.
Enjoy.
This is a perfect place to eat great Thai food! I always go back for the green curry and coconut rice!! She is very friendly and remembers her customers! If you want to try home made authentic Thai, definitely try it!
This is a little gem of Doncaster! There is nothing better than a good Thai restaurant. This is clearly family run and the food is fresh, authentic and yummy! The decor isn't fantastic and the restaurant is small but the service is friendly. HIGHLY recommend the curry puffs!! There are other Thai restaurants in the area which are very similar to this and honestly I would choose them over this one solely based on the atmosphere. Never the less there is nothing wrong with Jintana if you're after a good, tasty, cheap Thai restaurant !
Good option for takeaway. We like the fish cakes, green curry with coconut rice, spicy tom yum soup, and recently we found out that their wonton soup is actually quite nice too.
The best Thai food in Melbourne. I drive 45 minutes one way just to satisfy my Jintana cravings. I have had countless amounts of Tom Yum soup all over the world and Jintana's is simply the best. Packed with authentic flavours. Try this place once and you'll be coming back for more!
My husband & I really enjoyed our meal here tonight. Real authentic unpretentious home cooked Thai & you can't ask for more than that! Will definitely return..
A loyal customer, best and most authentic Thai in Melbourne.
Generous size dishes and great service. Must try :)
Great food. I have been eating here for over 20 years and it's always great eating.
I have tried many Thai restaurants but I keep going back to Jintana's.
Curry Puffs, Pad Thai, Gang Keow Waan "Green Curry", Pad Met Mamuang and Roti bread are among my favs.
This is by far the best Thai food I've ever had in my life!!! Jintanas is sooooooooo good! And addictive
Unassuming, yet delicious. I ordered take away from here after reading glowing reviews online and was surprised by the lack of customers within the restaurant. My order comprise an order of the chicken pad kra pao, green chicken curry and #40, which was honey chicken of some description. The order was very reasonably priced and promptly prepared. Both myself, my girlfriend and my father were all impressed by the quality of the food. The service was also very warm and welcoming. I shall return.
Delicious food, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, will definitely be going back there
Have eaten here a few times now and the food is very delicious, real authentic Thai. The staff are friendly & very accomodating. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Thai food.
I stumbled on Jintana... I planned to go Italian (next door) but this was a welcome alternative.
I'm a restaurant manager and have looked after people like the Ruler of Dubai (PM of U A Emirates) for 5 days.
Jintana was relaxed, unpretentious, the food was tasty and fresh, the coconut rice light and recommended, the entree (Pork Larb) the main (Prawn Lemongrass) and the dessert (Deep Fried Banana) were everything that I wanted them to be.
I'm fussy about food and service. I cannot fault either.
I suggest you try Jinana.. It's great value.
Best Thai Food in Melbourne. Found this place on-line and tried this place based on positive reviews it had. I have been a thai food lover for so many years and I think I found my new Thai food resturant. Food was absolutly fantastic I cant find anything negative about this place. Of course the place is not 5 stars, would like to see table deco and overall resturant looks bit improved but the quality of food will forget about any negative feelings towards this place. Owner Ms.Jintana is a very frenidly person who loves to come and talk to her customers.
I recommended this place to most of my mates and they ended up going back twice. Try the baked full fish menu and the stir fry menu. You dont want to go to Thailand just go to Jintana at Doncaster and save your self $1000 on plane tickets ;)
Disappointed they don't provide a paper menu you can take home, however the girls were friendly & helpful. Only a 15min wait on Sat night for takeaway. Food was fresh, tasty & not overpowering or greasy. Rather impressed overall. We'll be back!
Super authentic, very reasonably priced, nice people. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Gets busy Fridays and Saturdays, booking a smart idea.
Service was super friendly, meals were delicious and enormous. Not much in the way of vegetarian, however, all I had to do was ask. They altered a Pad Thai for me and it was the best I've had. In the words of my brother the meal was "bang on." Very happy customers, we'll be back.
Great Thai Food. Long time customer,Best authentic thai ,great tom yum prawn soup and tasty curries. You wont be dissapointed. We keep coming back we have compared the others.....
Awesome. best stay sauce which they give u with so many menu items as a side. lived in Thailand as an expat and this place is close to the real thing. service is unpredictable but set urself 2hrs one evening and suits those searching for a relaxed meal.
Yummy food, reasonably priced. Staff are lovely. We mainly get take away from here, but it's always busy with people dining in as well. Great local Thai place.
