An exquisite treat, accompanied by the aroma of your delightful coffee, make Laurent Bakery the pause in your shopping day that truly refreshes the soul.
Had to celebrate my birthday in isolation, but luckily I could still enjoy a Laurent cake! We ordered a lemon glaze cake and it was just delicious! Great flavours and reasonable price
French macaroon is a sweet meringue-based confection made with egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond meal, and food colouring and if you want the best of the best, Laurent Bakery is your spot. Highly recommend, I cannot get of these macaroons!
I was lucky enough to attend a store launch in Westfield Doncaster which included a chocolate rose making workshop. The bakery has a classic classy vibe and has seats inside the store or you can opt to sit out front which is lit nicely by the glass ceiling. There are many branches around Melbourne and I'm happy to confirm the quality is consistent across all stores. The cakes, pastry and bread are all very delicious. The rose making workshop was fun and interactive and it was amazing to know it's made with chocolate and not fondant.
Laurent has always, and still is my go-to for a quick coffee and cakes. With so many branches dotted around Melbourne, you'll be able to find a Laurent whenever the need for sweets arise.
It's not just the cakes and pastries that are stunning here, the bread are just as amazing. Consistency across all outlets is one of their selling point, and the coffees are always pleasant to drink.

A lovely bakery in Westfield Doncaster
The modern, open space creates a lovely aesthetic. As soon as you walk in you see a huge cabinet full of cakes, sandwiches, pastries & more! There is also a lovely display of freshly baked bread along the wall. There are also many places to sit both inside & outside the bakery.
I got to try a wide variety of their food including a delicious meat pie which had super flakey pastry & delicious filling. Their cakes are also amazing! I’m not 100% sure what the flavour was, but it was a special for the Melbourne Cup & all elements of it were amazing from the chocolate mousse layer to coconut layer.
The service are very attentive & friendly!
Laurent invited us to their launch event of the newly reinvigorated Westfield Doncaster store. This was a celebration of the spring carnival and those with talent got to work with chocolatiers in creating edible rose creations. We sampled some savoury canapé sized versions of what is sold behind the counter including their delightful ham baguette, classic salmon dill and capers, the most incredible chicken or beef pies and an assortment of quiche. The pastry was incredibly short and morish, while the chicken pie filling was probably the best we’ve seen on sale. Impressive savoury from a place I generally would go to for their delicious cakes and sweet treats. We left with a sweet treat to take home complete with a chocolate Melbourne cup and delightfully complex dessert that reminded me a little of a bounty bar.

I swear this place must have strategically placed itself near the entrance to David Jones purely to capture the shopping weary husbands of the world. It certainly worked for me on the weekend. A good distraction to fill in time so I’d be an understatement as their coffee is ok. Today I ordered a pear and almond tart which makes a change from the lemon tart (tarte au citron) that I normally order. Service was a little slow as they were crazy Saturday morning busy.
Laurent Cafe in Westfield Doncaster has been around for a very long time, at least for more than 15 years and a staple cafe within the shopping centre complex. It is a cafe that you know wont disappoint in terms of food ( especially cakes and sandwiches) quality. Price has risen in the past 12 months and they were closed for quite a significant couple of months in earlier half of 2019 for refurbishments.
🔆LOCATION🔆
Laurent Cafe is situated on upper level (first floor) of Westfield Doncaster, outside David Jones and opposite to Koko Black.
There is indoor cafe seating or outdoor seating within the shopping centre. As part of the refurbishments, their outdoor seating has extended past the next 2 shop fronts with couch seating. I much prefer to sit outside as there is more space and natural lighting.
As you walk inside the cafe, on the right hand side there is a counter with a sink and tray of glasses which you can self-serve water. At the back of the cafe, there is a counter with latest newspapers for customers to read.
🔆SERVICE🔆
Service can be slow at times especially on weekends, as its always seems to be so busy. If only they had more staff on hand it would be better at times. On other times I had visited service was quick and efficient, so I guess it really all depends.
🔆MENU/PRICE🔆
They have a large selection of different types of food and you can easily view in their counter display. Their menu is not that easy to read, it is an A4 clear perspex holder menu at the counter near the register, they should really have menu's available at the tables as well for convenience.
On this occasion I ordered for brunch: Large Chicken Foccacia Sandwich, $13.75
🔆VERDICT🔆
Delicous, once of my favourites here at Laurent Cafe. I always ask for it to be toasted a little bit longer so that the chicken in the middle gets a bit warmer. The ingredients inside are fresh and tasty. Love how the chicken peices are cut up very small so its easy to eat and mixed well with the light creamy mayo and mustard. The avocado and walnut gives it added flavour and texture!
A classic cafe with a variety of decent delicious cakes and pastry. Good ambiance and conveniently located across key shops. The strawberry tart is a favourite!
Just wanted to share the Laurents Mother's day cake. It was so good. Wasn't to sweet and oh so light raspberry mouse cake. Love the pop up store they have at the moment. Wish it stayed there.
Laurent continues to astound with its consistency and quality. We bought a few individual slices of their famous cakes and were, as always, totally bowled over. Their vanilla slice was the best on show today with fresh, crispy puff pastry layered between creamy custard. All I can say is yummo!
Really good cake selection and the coffee is brilliant! Lovely staff, but can get a bit busy on weekends so sometimes hard to find a table. I made the mistake of going to another cafe nearby because it was so packed at Laurent and regretted it 200%.
It is very good place for catch up and have rest with friends after shopping. I been there many times and love the chicken sandwich also coffee! Will be back !
Love Laurent and especially the mushroom croque sandwich. The cakes here are a bit pricey but always scrumptious!
Great location , would always stop by if I’m feeling peckish during shopping

Laurent Bakery are known for their cakes and hot chocolates so when we were at Doncaster Westfield, we just HAD to pop by and get our sweets fix. Located in the shopping centre, there’s seating inside the store and outside and it does get busy! So if you can find a table, definitely do not give it up.

French inspired desserts and coffee. Purchased a cake from here for a birthday and found it to be rather delicious. Layers of cream and jelly and chocolate.
They always provide nice coffee and delicious baguette. The best place to eat someting in Doncaster Westfield, just sometimes it's hard to find a table.
Avocado tartine is my favourite!
The staff are helpful and kind. It would be great if they could check tables and clean it properly.
We recently bought a cake from Laurent Patisserie to celebrate a family relative's birthday. The cake was about $60 but was definitely worth the money. It was presented very well, with fresh strawberries and raspberry. It wasn't too sweet nor too bland, and is definitely suitable for elderlies to eat.
Laurent. I don't think any patisserie in Melbourne is better than Laurent. I like the cakes and enjoy the cake any time I am in Laurent. Highly recommended.
Divine cakes for a morning delight
Came with my lovely wifey for a morning tea date and was definitely a great start to our morning. Loved the ambience and comfortable soft seating. Made us feel we could stay there for the whole morning chatting. We used an entertainment voucher BOGOF deal for cakes and coffee and we chose the Bora Bora White/dark chocolate mousse with coconut and wild raspberry. It was divine in texture and taste and was not overpowering in sweetness. The raspberry jelly bit in the center was a quite nice addition inside.
We also had a 'Christine' brownie walnuts macadamia chocolate mousse and cremé brûlée and that was smooth and silky and wonderfully sweet for the chocolate lovers. I found that small size as just enough for us to share and sweetness was just right for that kind of delight.
The staff was friendly and welcoming even when we used a voucher for our morning tea. Will definitely come again for our future morning dates.
Thanks!
Don not understand who the average for this place is 2.5 the food is lovely especially the turkey baguette macaroons are perfect the lady who takes the orders on the weekend can be slightly rude bout you can get past that is the food and decor is fabulous
I adore Laurent and recently ordered 150 of their delicious macarons for an event I had; a mixture of chocolate, salted caramel and mango passionfruit. I was delighted with them as were all my guests. Truly mouthwatering and my sister was so impressed she is going to get them for her upcoming engagement party. Couldn't think of a better party favour

Omg, i tried the new product. Egg and bacon brioche bun. The bun itself is soft, the egg is just cook and not to be miss is the bacon, soft and juicy. The cake and baguettes are to die for. Coffee had improved. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Overall my dining experience was good. The lady at the counter was very proactive.
The crossaints here are too die for. The selection of small cakes are seriously irresistible. The only thing which sometimes is a let down for me are the mochas, they're a little bitter, however a sachet of raw sugar fixes that problem. ☺️
With vintage displays and a very warm and inviting atmosphere, I was looking forward to trying out Laurent. Their pastries were sure enticing and I enjoyed their Christine. The millefeuille was ok, was hoping the pastry could be more fresh and crisp, and the creme patisserie more flavoursome. The hot chocolate was not as tasty as Koko Black's although it's nice as a lighter alternative. Overall, it was still a lovely Saturday afternoon tea.
DO: The croque monsieur, almond croissant and any of the sweet treats for dessert.
DON'T: Do takeaway, it's so much more enjoyable to sit outside in the mall in front of David Jones and watch the world go by whilst you're better half goes shopping.
TIP: Gets busy quickly and the line looks very long, but don't despair. Nab a table outside and go inside to place your order.
Great service in comparison with chaddy store , not complaining it's just always busy in chadston . I prefer Laurent in Doncaster . Do order their caramel Eclair , it's heavenly good ! The joy of the day ! The other cake I had was the Borabora . The strawberry jam totally balance the sweetness of the black & white chocolate moose . Good coffee & chai latte . Love the cake here ! One of the best !
Nice coffee (espresso) and super tasty ham and cheese croissant. Only downside was the long wait to get served and all the dirty tables, but I guess it is in a shopping center so probably should have been expected.
Always sooo busy! Which is an absolutely good sign! Had to grab some gorgeous dessert takeaway.. Just because!
Service was lovely as always. Very friendly and efficient! Ofcourse it is a lil be dear but they are extremely delicious!
Delicious breads and drinks. Come here often and it is great every time. However, it is a little pricey when compared to other cafe's around the area.
Good coffee & the best almond croissants!!! A bakery/patisserie that has a selection of bakery savory & dessert items. Prices can be a bit on the high side but for the quality that you get its well worth paying that bit extra. I've never really sat there as I always get take away, customer service has been good
Fresh and busy~order a salad and u can check whether the restaurant use the fresh ingredient or not~order a croissant and u will find their bakery level or their vendor's level~order a coffee that means everything~
Great coffee and lovely display of cakes! Friendly smiling staff and shop clean , would go again
Honestly the best coffee I've had from Laurent doncaster in a while. A strapping young Italian looking man with great hair made our coffees to perfect and delivered them to us and treated is with excellent service. I think his name was Jason but not sure? He deserves a raise! An excellent night. We will be back.
Delicious lemon tart !!!. Ordered a pot of English Breakfast tea and a lemon tart !!! If you enjoy your cakes, then you'll love this lemon tart... It's "out of this world" !!! Definitely YUMMO !!! ...but I do think it was overpriced !!! :)
Shopping break. I often go here a lot and the coffee is fantastic but the service is sometimes slow. The strawberry eclair and the chicken and leek pie are to die for but I don't like how they have changed the ham baguette.
We had Fantasy Cakes create a designer cake for a milestone birthday last year.
The quality and attention to detail were just amazing!
What's just as important was that Sharon was very patient and knowledgeable and took the time to explore what we wanted. The design and the whole thing was created from scratch. We still have the toppers saved in the fridge :-).
Thank you!
Sharon & her team were amazing, they delivered a spectacular cake to us for our engagement recently. We will be using them for our wedding cake no questions asked. They sculpted a beautiful scene of our dogs attaching the cake and devouring it :) In regard to the scene, the colours and flavours, it was a detail heavy cake request and they absolutely nailed every bit of it. Not to mention, this cake was delicious :)
Fantasty Cakes made our wedding cake and we were blown away with how delicious it was.
My husband and I aren't really cake people, but this cake was so very different to what we've had before. The flavours were incredible and it looked beautiful.
Our wedding guests always tell us how delicious the cake was, so thank you all so much.
We're so happy we chose you to make our cake.
I contacted Fantasy Cakes, looking for a cake for my partner's 30th birthday, and I couldn't have been happier from start to finish. I was very specific about what I was after, and they nailed every detail of the cake and it's setting. The cake was delicious, it was delivered on time by their very friendly staff and my partner was blown away with the cake. Very happy with the outcome, thank you!!!
Fantasy Cakes did an incredible job for our wedding cake. We have now hired Sharen and the team multiple times - probably four or five birthdays, and the aforementioned wedding cake. Every time they bake a delicious cake, with all sorts of unique traits to them. When our wedding was cancelled, Sharen was very understanding and worked with us for our ‘re-do’ in 2021. She remained tight-lipped about the surprise element of the wedding cake, which all the guests thought was very talented. Strong recommendation from us. We have never been disappointed.
I had Fantasy Cakes make a 3 tier ‘round the world’ cake for my daughters 21st birthday!
I was told by many cake shops it couldn’t be done, however Fantasy cakes came through!
Fantasy Cakes have been absolutely wonderful - we have been to them several times now over the last few years and they have always been delightful to deal with, accommodating with arrangements and spot on in creating amazing looking - and tasting! - cakes.
Every event (Birthdays and an engagement) the cake has been a hot topic of discussion. Many thanks team!
I would highly recommend Fantasy cakes, they have made the recent cake below for my 3 year olds bithday, it was fantastic and my 3 year old loved it. I have also had our wedding cake and my 2 year olds bithday cake made by them. They are very professional and can also assist with alternatives to suit your budget.
