Review Donnybrook Indian Restaurant - Donnybrook

Trevor Jensen
After a long days ride the crews wanted Indian food. Reviews looked good for Indian in Donnybrook. We rode the extra distance from Balingup. We got Chicken Korma as a soup Butter Chicken which was nice, Chicken Madras extra spicy which it wasn't and I had my favourite Goat Bone curry with two bits of gristle and a little blob of fat thrown in. The sauce was great and filling once the half kilo of rice was added. Definitely coming back to see if I was dreaming.

Best Indian food that i have in Australia, or even near matching some of the best Northern Indian cuisine when I travelled and dined there for 3 weeks. Well done dudes keep up the good work. Try the Korma dishes, they are incredible.

This is an absolute hidden gem in South west. The chef puts best of his efforts to make your experience pleasant and service always matches. Great food. Thank you very much team for making our evening great.

It was a surprise to find somewhere as nice as this in a small country town. The mattar mushrooms and chana masala were very good, along with tasty vegan roti. Surroundings were pleasant. We had a good meal and a good break on our drive to the Bridgetown Blues Festival.

Just had a meal with friends at this restaurant. The food was great on all fronts and the price was more than fair. I can recommend this restaurant to anybody who likes authentic Indian food and the few quirks on display are not worth getting upset about. This restuarant was an unexpected discovery in a small country town in Western Australia.

The meat, what tiny amount there was dry & inedible the goat was a bowl of bone & gristle. The amount of food we received with five mains & two lge rice left us hungry. The flavours were very g good, the papadums were stale & the naan bread was burnt & rubbery. When booking our table we were told it was byo, but it clearly states on the door othetwise The decor was horrid, looking like someone painted it with a yard broom. The smoke detectors were missing. Our waitress was dressed in shorts & jumper, & althoughhandling food, she continually was running her hand through her hair. Our fresh smoothies on ice were pathetic I personally had one ice cube. All in all it was not a place I would reccommend & certainly wont return It should also be noted prices quoted on their website are for take away only.

After hearing about how good this restaurant was, we had to try this place. As we walked in the place had a lovely ambience to it and greeted with a friendly smile. We were not rushed to put orders in which is great. Food was to die for and it was the best Indian I have had in Aust. What made it a really good service was the chef coming out and asking how the meal was, which I've only seen a couple of times. The prices were very reasonable. Overall this place is the best and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

Tasted great. Unfortunately they have put their take away prices up. I just payed $20+ for a shit load of sauce and maybe 8 small pieces if we where lucky of diced chicken. $96 for 3 chicken dish’s 1 veg, 3 nan and rice So disappointed

Honestly I have been to many countries and eaten Indian food, and you cant get much better than this. And its here in Donnybrook. Well done to the family who have come here and have made this a business which I can only see thriving here. Well done. Highly recommend for families and friends.

It's a shame I could only give 5 stars. Dined here for the first time tonight and it's THE BEST Indian I've ever had. The spices and flavours were so amazing and not overpowering. The only complaint we had was that out stomachs got too full too quick :-) but hey at least I know we have an amazing lunch tomorrow with the leftovers. Well worth the visit and we'll be back.
