Absolutely brilliant. The food was fresh and beautiful. We arrived early but were seated immediately. The starter was a 'harvest basket' to share. The description didn't particularly excite me to be honest. However; the dish itself was delicious. The puree was incredible to say the least. The mains took a while to come out and our lovely waitress apologised twice and brought us complimentary bread and Dukka (also delicious). Honestly I had no problem waiting anyway. The atmosphere was very relaxed. The main courses were incredible. The best I have had in a very long time. The effort put into each dish was obvious. On top of all this the service was second to none. Our waitress was brilliant.........oh and the wine is superb. I bought 6 bottles on my way out. I cannot recommend this hidden gem enough. Every detail is attended to. Awesome. Thank you very much we will see you soon.
We had our wedding at Trofeo and it exceeded all of our expectations! Not only is the venue stunning but Sarah and the staff were just amazing to work with
People are still commenting on how delicious the food was and what a beautiful venue it is for a wedding
Cannot thank Sarah enough for everything she did to make our day as special and beautiful as it was
For anyone planning a wedding, we cannot recommend Trofeo highly enough
An amazing venue with great ambience, friendly service and delicious food at their restaurant! It is one of the most relaxing vineyards I have been too and would highly recommend a visit! 😁👍
We had a lovely dinner at Whispering Vines. Every dish was perfect, the staff friendly and knowledgeable and the venue was beautiful. Would highly recommend.
Setting, ambience, food, wine and service (waitress Tayler) exceptional. Will highly recommend to others. Thank you.
One week later and Tim and I are still on cloud nine after our wedding. Thank you SO much to the team at Trofeo for your fantastic service on our wedding day. Lori, you helped to keep the vibe relaxed and provided a refreshing alternative to other cookie cutter wedding venues - you were so flexible which allowed us to feel free to truly make it our own. I was cautious with having a cocktail reception but with plenty of seating still available, and a huge amount of delicious food circulating all night long, it ended up being the perfect choice for a fun, relaxed celebration. Our guests haven't stopped complimenting the food and wine - just divine. Highly recommended!
I loved the staff and the food at trofeo. Great wine. Soo good bought a half dozen bottles at a great price. Will definitely be going back
What a wonderful place to relax for an early Friday dinner - all you can eat pizza and one of many delicious drops of wine (must recommend the Pinot) 5 star for me!
Had a fantastic lunch & you were so accommodating to our group 🙏Fab wine & service ! Thank you I will be back !!
Thanks for a fabulous lunch, amazing food, great wine and brilliant service. We’ll be back for sure.
Beautiful cafe at the Trofeo Estate Winery.
Food was lovely and service ok. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Rose with our lunch and took our glasses out to explore the surroundings.
Food was delicious. Location is gorgeous and spacious. Service was sensational. We had a group for a birthday lunch. One of the guests accidentally smashed a glass just as food was being served. Without hesitation the manager took the meals away and quickly replaced despite it not being their fault. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Will happily return.
Trofeo Estate offers a different wine tasting experience as they ferment and age their wines either fully or partly in terracota amphora. This produces a slightly different taste from stainless steel or wood barrels. I enjoyed the shiraz and chardonnay and purchased a couple of bottles at the cellar door. We had booked a table for lunch at the Whispering Pines restaurant which is adjacent to the tasting room. Like many vineyard restaurants, the menu is short but interesting. We tried the barramundi and beef ribs mains. The barramundi was up to expectations. The beef was very rich in flavour, almost too rich. The restaurant has a pleasant raw interior. Service was friendly and generally timely. The setting is very pleasant overlooking vineyards and a small dam. The experience was very similar to many other quality wineries on the Mornington Peninsula.
Wonderful venue!
Food, wine, coffee and table service is all exceptional.. Love visiting and eating at this winery for both breakfast and lunch..
Scoopon deal, $55. 2 mains each with a shared entree. Have no idea what the entree was called, little veggie spread creation. Was tasty, just would liked more of it. Meat and salmon was cooked well. $8/9 each extra for sides. Ref pics, broccoli and fries.
This is by far my favourite winery on the Peninsula. The food is sensational - the first time I dined here I was blown away by how delicious it was and I'm yet to be disappointed. The wines are really good too - the pinot noir is my pick of the bunch - just divine.
Hands down one of the best scrambled egg breakfasts I've had in a while! Stunning location and delightful interior design with friendly service. Will hopefully be back soon. The .5
Missing was that the coffee was only ok... :)
Just had an amazing lunch. The Rib Eye steak was cooked to perfection and the Barramundi and Salmon tasted amazing also. Coffee was spot on and the desserts were awesome. We will be back again and again I am sure
Have been here a couple of times now! Ticks lots of boxes for us. Probably best coffee on the peninsula. Prices are a little higher than some but it's compensated by service and great quality food, not to mention the spectacular surroundings. Also they do change their menu around so keeps it interesting! Big 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Lovely venue! Great spot for brunch. Simple menu, not over complicated. Food was delicious! We had the Eggs Benedict. Will be coming back again.
Took my family here for my birthday lunch. Amazing vibe and the food was delicious. The oysters were deliciously fresh And I had the steak with polenta fries.
Wine pairings were also on point.
The dessert was disappointing. The whole time I was eyeing them in the display cabinet but when they actually came out, they were dry. Had the banana cake with nutella ganache and a zucchini and carrot cake. Served with copious amounts of whipped cream but sadly nothing could save it.
Still we didn't let that ruin the overall experience. Friendly staff, and good entrees and mains. Will be coming back.
Amazing food and service.. French toast was divine. Can't wait to go back again.
FANTASTIC !. We had Mother's Day lunch there last Sunday. Absolutely wonderful !!! Staff fantastic.
Couldn't fault it !!!
Top spot on the mornington peninsula. Love this place! After trying other much hyped, more expensive restaurants on the peninsula, whispering vines cafe strikes the right balance between delicious food, great wine and excellent value.
Enjoyable, though no wow factor. Ate here on Friday having the Express Lunch of 2 courses, glass of wine and coffee for $40 pp.
Sharing an Entree was smoked salmon, with shaved fennel, radish with a dill creme fraiche..nice thought a tad oily and a bit bland. Mains - one of us a a lovely slow cooked lamb with seasonal veges, toasted almonds and mint dressing, and the other was a very light and fluffy home made gnocchi. Dessert shared was an underwhelming mulberry pannacotta.. Coffee was ok as was the glass of the winery Shiraz.
The English waitress who was on 'trial' was very cheery and pleasant as well as attentive.
It was a bleak day on Friday and am sure on a sunny day the ambience for this establishment would be more positive.
Would I return? Probably not
Really nice setting, I would suggest call ahead and make sure you get a table outside on the deck overlooking the lake! Breakfast was lovely, quick and good service! Great coffee and juice!
Absolutely beautiful spot, excellent coffee. We weren't expecting anything too brilliant for brekkie but the bagel was tasty, overlooking the vineyard.
We also indulged in a pannacotta, which was delicious. Will absolutely come by again.
Good breakfast . Pretty building. A hidden gem.
Lovely lunch spot to take visitors. Visited Whispering Vines last Monday for a lovely shared lunch with my partner and parents. I choose here as I hadn't heard of it before but could see that since opening a year ago, this winery restaurant was already gaining a good rep from reviews. The menu presented a variety of choices including shared platters & wood-fired pizzas. We ordered the salami pizza & the prosciutto pizza - both awesome, the prosciutto pizza had fresh strawberries on top and pea tendrils with balsamic reduction, the combination of these flavors worked really well together. The chickpea croquettes were nice & the asparagus mousse was devine! We finished with desserts; gelatti, chocolate mousse and chocolate salted caramel tart - all deliciously decadent and quality made coffee to wash it down with. The wine was beautiful too, we had a tasting (& a takeaway) on the way out. The venue itself is WOW - I love the exposed old red bricks & the light, open dining space. Service was friendly & helpful without hovering. Over all we had a fantastic time and I can't fault it. This is a great example of an quality MP winery without the pretention.
Best Coffee. Have been here many times the coffee and cake ( not to mention the champagne ) is the best on the peninsula, the lady who runs it is incredible.
My New Favourite!. Tried this great vineyard cafe for brunch after reading the review in last weeks Age. Wasn't disappointed. Very friendly service, unlike some of the places up the Hill where staff seem to think they're doing you a favour by serving you. Had a custom made big breakie, two coffees each as they were so good and washed it down with a couple of cakes from the cake cabinet. One complaint here - couldn't make up my mind. I wanted everything! Fantastic choice of cakes and desserts. Will be coming back for afternoon tea more often. Great country views with a rainbow to boot on the day we were there. Highly recommend it!
I heard about this place on the grape vine (no pun intended) and what a hidden little gem it is. Great food and wines at very affordable prices compared with many other Mornington Peninsula wineries. Just add an open fire and you won't get me out of the place..
TOP SPOT. Great to see a new cafe open in a winery. There's more than enough fine dine on the Peninsula. Had lunch there on Mothers Day and though it was very busy, service and food was great. Highly rate the Fish w Beetroot Risotto and my mum loved the Steak w Confit Potatoes. Desserts were the killers though. The Chocolate Marquis was sublime and the modern twist on the Strawberries Romanoff w Persian Fairy Floss was sensational. We'll be back. Oh and excellent coffee!
Amazing coffee and great breakfast with a relaxing view.
Had a wonderful late lunch here yesterday. The food was very well priced & tasty. Menu is excellent with something for everyone including kids. Service was friendly & very helpful. Tracey in the cellar door was a delight. Wine were reasonable as well for a young vineyard. They even produce wine from terra cotta pot rather than the traditional oak barrels. Though Tracey informed us the Romans used terra cotta 2000 yrs ago.... We will be back again. And will be joining their wine club when they get it organised..
Lovely & gluten free friendly. My family went for my mothers birthday & we all loved it.
The cafe is beautiful & is in such a great setting.
The service was very quick & super friendly & the food was lovely.
Will definitely be going back.
Nice spot. We enjoyed Sunday breakky here recently. Lovely dining space - both inside and outside. Friendly service and good coffee. I had the Welsh rarebit which was very tasty! Would I eat here again? Yes.
Lovely food and wine ... Had the "to share" platter which we enjoyed ... Can't go past the Trefeo Pinot Noir ...
Beautiful setting! Great food and vino !Friendly bunch down there! Looking forward to heading down again!!
I’ve been to Whispering Vines Café a couple of times now, and on each occasion I’ve had a lovely meal – they often have really interesting specials – the beef wellington I had here as a special was outstanding. It’s also a really lovely spot, weather depending, outside is really nice, but I’ve been here when it was blowing a gale and the rain was pouring, inside it was nice and cosy and it was fun to watch the rain clouds roll over the countryside. On the latest visit to Whispering Vines, we were lucky to actually get a table! Mum, for some unknown reason, had decided that there was no need to book… Well of course the place was packed on such a sunny spring day, and we were told there would be a 30min wait – there were a few of us, Mum, Katie, Jo and Sharron. Katie was not happy with the idea of having to wait for so long as she was not feeling well – thankfully we were only w
