Review Hickinbotham Of Dromana Winery - Dromana

A winery worth visiting! The wines are tasty, pairs well with their menu, and their wine floats are amazingly priced! Their mains are good servings, to the point I couldn't fit in dessert. Will absolutely visit again (and cannot wait!)

Very warm welcome from the staff even though it was a busy Saturday lunch without any bookings required. The food was delicious accompanied by the awesome live music. Need I say more?

Recently visited for lunch, upon being seated the waitstaff promptly took our order and were very polite and helpful with choosing food and drinks from the menu. After waiting over 45 minutes for entrees a staff member notified us that some food on the mains menu was unavailable and that the change in order would cause further delays in the entrees and mains arriving. Another 20 minutes later, still no entrees. We decided to leave Who ever it was that took our payment for the couple of drinks we had seemed very uninterested in why we were leaving and simply stated they had two large tables to wait on for the day. The stars are for the lovely floor staff and nice musical atmosphere while we waited.

Sunday lunch was OK, nothing too exciting. The flowers on our table were all dead, the tablecloth lifted my expectations however spring rolls for entree were very ordinary and our mains the same. When the waitress cleared out plates from entrees she put our used cutlery back in front of us to use for our mains!!!! I requested fresh cutlery and she obliged. Might be better places to spend your money!

The team at Hickinbotham came to my rescue when a venue I had booked in for my 21st pulled out 2 weeks before the date. Kris made sure that the night lived up to all of my expectations and assured me that it would truly be a memorable one (which it was)! Their range of beer and wine was amazing and we honestly couldn’t get enough, even having to take a couple of bottles home with us at the end of the night. The food was delicious and aplenty, and the views (even at night) were absolutely second to none. I highly recommend Hickinbotham for their delicious range of food, drinks, stunning views, rustic decor, and of course their amazing hospitality! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Perfect for events and functions, or even just a casual lunch and tipple with friends.

Fantastic selection of beer & wines in a beautiful location to enjoy some good food and live music. Easy to find due to proximately to the peninsula link with plenty of parking available. After enjoying many times I highly recommend a visit to Hickinbotham

Excellent food and wine. The chicken burger was delicious and the strawberry kiss is very easy to drink. Garden setting overlooking the vines is great. Service was excellent too.

I recently took my wife and family for lunch. I can’t complement the winery any more. The food, service, people and atmosphere was brilliant.

Extremely disappointed with this restaurant. We were told that the tasting cheese and cold meat platter at 42 dollars would be large enough for the six of us. The plate was indeed large, but it contained barely nothing, 4 teenie tiny slices of three different types of meat, two small pieces of tasteless cheese a tiny bowl with a handful of olives and pickled capsicum another tiny bowl with chutney and one, yes one tortilla chip per person. The pizzas were horrible, the worst we have ever had. Tiny 18 dollar pizzas. The dough was not cooked properly, and tasted like industrial frozen pizza base. Clearly overrated food and way too expensive given the quality and tiny portions. Will not recommend.

I have been to this winery quite a few times now so I was happy to call and book my birthday here, so a big big thank you to Kerrie and her staff at Hickinbotham Winery for making my 60th birthday so memorable. The wonderful food and lovely wine, beer and cider all afternoon was amazing, the staff were so lovely and nothing was too much trouble my family and friends had a great afternoon. A beautiful setting I would definitely recommend them πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘

Six of us were here for dinner, drinks and to bring in the new Year,2018 πŸŽ‰ What a great night it was !! Nice venue, delicious food, helpful pleasant staff (no matter how busy it got) and fantastic live music. And to top it off the home brewed beer and wine was excellent. I have no hesitation recommending a visit to this great winery. We WILL be back 😊 Thank you to all the staff πŸ‘β˜˜οΈ

Well we were on our way home from spending a couple of nights in Mt Martha, we turned up on Melbourne cup day for lunch and there were no tables available but they bought a table from outside and set it up for us which really delighted us as hubby wanted to taste some beers on tap. Our lunch was delicious and the service was very good. The warm porter & brown ale cake, caramel sauce, pretzel praline, vanilla bean ice cream was out of this world! We would like to come here again and are looking into coming by public transport so we can both have some drinks with our meal. I would really recommend this place.

I've been going to Hickinbothams since they had New Years Eve Parties before the end of the world was supposed to come in the year 2000 and have had so many laughs and dancing and strawberry liqueur and strawberry champers there....the first time I went I felt at home it's not pretentious like other winneries ...it's like a Pub atmosphere in a way and so friendly and OMG the home made muscat is to die for and I'm not sure but I drank so much one cup day I think I did die a few times....Andrew and Terryn are perfect hard working hosts and I am always perplexed at how they do it all and remain centered and willing to make there home your home....I'm very very fond of the times I've had there some of the best xxxxxxx

Great venue not up themselves like a lot of other Penninsula wineries. Great food, wine and beer reasonably priced. With great live music from Fossil Rock

Amazing food ! Great wine and specialty beers ...just a great place to go and hang out with friends and listen to live music. Terryn and Andrew are just so nice ...a very welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend!!

$16 for a glass of wine is over the top. Wine tasting session was unorganised & badly communicated & inconsistent quantities between the wines. Haven't had a meal there so cannot comment but my review was merely from attending a function where finger food & wine tasting were on the agenda. Otherwise it was great. Ie entertainment by James Vincent was brilliant

A great place for a weekend beer or wine which can quite easily turn into lunch or dinner as the place is quite comfortable and easy to loose time in. Great music on the weekends also. Rather go there than the pub

Relaxed, unpretentious, varied crowd, great wines, great beer and great food. Music is an extra treat. So good to see a winery that is delivering a total experience for customers. With very affordable prices and from time to time great deals.

We love this winery. It is rustic and humble and was a wonderful place for our wedding. Great food, wine, beer and staff who bend over backward to give you a warm and cosy experience. It's refreshing to find a winery that isn't posh and pretentious!

On a Mum's Retreat weekend in June 2016, our group called in for an impromptu wine tasting sesh... The staff were accommodating and happy to take our $$, however, we weren't given very good service. Our server was very rushed and quite sloppy. We were hoping to hear about the history of the vineyard or some interesting information about the area but between splashing our glasses we were just left to sit. They had a musician setting up for the afternoon and there were about 10 other patrons there at the time. It was quite a disappointing experience.

Well... It's my absolute favourite place on the Peninsula! Just such a happy, friendly, relaxed place, which caters to all ages. Wine, beer and food are always beautiful. Gorgeous setting overlooking vines and the sea in the distance. Sometimes there is a horse wandering by.. kids love it! The music on the weekends brings people together like nothing else can. Terryn and Andrew Hickinbotham always have a big smile for everyone, so what's not to like?

Atmosphere great, meal delish but there is a line between rustic and dirty. A light dusting and removal of cobwebs and change of table cloths at the back of the bar (group tastings section I think) and a bit of a sweep wouldn't go astray.

The people that seem to rave about it obviously have very poor taste....the food was overpriced and very mediocre
