Really friendly and warm environment. The food was greAt and excellent margaritas. Recommended.
Ordered open burritos and margaritas.
Loved the food, loved the Margaritas, loved the super friendly staff and love the lovely chef! We went there for lunch yesterday and on our way for lunch again today. Guess that says it all.
A return visit for some of our party and we all had a great experience! Lovely and attentive waitstaff, fresh and flavourful food, and fun decor.
La Onda is one of the new generation cafes on the Peninsula, an area that’s been in need of better food choices. We had a leisurely lunch here and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We sampled a range of Latin mex standards and liked them all. We started with chips and spicy salsa, chicken quesadilla, beef tacos, pork ribs, maya salad, papas fritas (roast potato), churros and fair trade coffee by common folk. Everything was done very well. Service was terrific too, friendly and nicely efficient. At around $40 plus a head without alcohol La Onda is not a cheap option but it’s still one that’s well worth pursuing.
We visited this amazing slice of Latin America on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
We sat out the front where the sun was warm, the beers were cold and the food was completely delicious! ( we ordered burritos)
Chef Roxy seems to just love sharing her passion for latin food.
The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, prices were reasonable - all together its a fantastic addition to the peninsula
We will DEFINITELY recommend it and we will be back!!!
This place is incredible! Great vibe, delicious food and margaritas and super friendly and attentive service. The woman who owns the place was an absolute delight — so warm and personable. Overall just a great experience. We’ll be back weekly!
Really fantastic the owner was lovely as were the staff. Food and cocktails as well as the wine was brilliant. Fit out is really impressive also. Highly Recommend!
Incredible!! Exceeds all expectations. Definitely recommend. Such delicious food and great customer service. An absolute must if you are in Dromana.
The staff at La Onda were very accommodating and helpful. They went through the trouble of explaining in depth of what Vegan options they had for me. The food was absolutely delicious. I would recommend and return in the future.
Friendly, welcoming atmosphere with fresh, light Latin food.
The main attraction here is the owner - this restaurant has been her dream for a long time and it shows in her hands-on approach. The produce quality and preparation is excellent, but for me it tailors a bit too much to the western palate. In other words, I wanted more complex chilli flavours and heat in the dishes we tried.
To be fair, we ate here opening week, so I hope the food evolves with its customers. Definitely a new local business to support.
Wonderful alternative to fish and chips or the pub. Authentic Mexican food and friendly staff headed by the lovely owner. I had the burrito 🌯 and it was amazing, so fresh and healthy! My friend had the fish taco 🌮 very generous servings. Well worth and try.
The calamari salad and fish tacos were oh so yummy! I highly recommend them!
The chicken and pork tacos were good too but nothing special. Beware though when you're eating the tacos, it's so juicy the juices run down your arm....everytime!! I wouldn't recommend long sleeves LOL
Overall we had a good dinner and the alcoholic beverages were very tasty. I particularly liked that salty seasoning they put on everything.
Simply a beautiful Latin Restaurant! Food was so delicious! (Especially the Jalapeño Poppers) Everything was so good that we just wanted to dig in and I forgot to take more photos. The service was great! Thank you to the wonderful owner and the staff. Great experience! Will go back every opportunity we have. Definitely recommend
Very well executed fish tacos, batter is light and fish is fresh. What’s most amazing is the hospitality of the lady boss who kindly offered us her Mexican hats for photo taking. Great food plus warm reception is what makes this place a to go when in mornington peninsula
We tried to walk in without a booking and the staff was nice enough to squeeze us in for an hour. I love that they tried to accommodate us and not just send us off. Aside from this, the food and margarita werw amazing!
We had an overall enjoyable Latin Mexican meal here! I can never go past a good fish taco, and they are quite generous with their fillings and servings. Loved the poppers and the guac, the potatoes were unfortunately soggy but we didn’t mind too much. There is limited seating available so I definitely recommend making a booking if deciding to dine here.
Fantastic authentic Mexican food from a family business. The owner stopped for a chat, and gave us some free tasters. We’ll be back.
