Review Lychees Garden - Dromana

Absolutely delicious! So fresh and tasty. The Salt and Pepper Prawns or Calamari is exceptional, so is the Black bean. So many choices, I am looking forward to eating here again. The dumplings are made by the owner, and are some of the best we have ever had. Thank you.

3.5 out of 5. A good old fashioned local Chinese place. An ordinary street presence and dated old fashioned decor shouldn’t deter you from visiting here. You can actually see the sea from the front tables, a rare thing in Dromana, and what really matters is the food and service which are terrific. It was buzzing on a Sunday night here with lots of families and couples. Despite that service was friendly and efficient from three servers over all. The chef brought out each dish herself with a big smile and a flourish and it added to the amiability of the whole experience. The great news is, all the dishes were lovely. The hand made dumplings look fairly ordinary but are actually very nice. We had prawn and chicken as well as the fried vegetable ones. The main dishes we tried were the Vegetables with shittake mushrooms, the Hokkien noodles and chicken, ginger and onions. Serves are huge and the dishes are tasty. All the dishes were nice. The bill is made easier by the very modest BYO charge. All in all this is a fun local Chinese that we will certainly return to.

Really high quality dumplings, some of the best we nave had, 70’s decor and fittings and the other food we had was rather bland and toned down from spices for the local crowd.

Friendly service, delicious spring rolls and heavenly chicken and prawn dumplings. Wonderful flavours, beautifully cooked. Delicious.

Take away order. Food was oily and tasteless. Striking them off my list of places I would ever visit again.

We went on a very busy Saturday night. Lucky we booked. Place was packed. That said they coped wonderfully with a full house. Byo so drinks weren't an issue and the corkage reasonable per person. Started with 4 plates of various dumplings..very nice. We all odered mains, all generous servings, all delicious should have shared more and ordered less. In short a great night. Only downside they shut at 10pm so you cant linger. Do yourself a favour.

Main courses absolutely scrumptious. San Cho Bow Entree, not so good. Now frequent often.

It’s not easy feeding a table of 20, but their service was unquestionably perfect.
