Best Thai in the whole world. Pad Thai is a must. They aren’t stingy with sauce in the satay chicken. Everything is perfect.
Delicious fresh Thai food with generous servings! We go here almost every week for lunch or dinner especially for the lunch specials. Definitely recommend it to all.
🍴Doytai Thai 📍207-211 Lyons Road, Drummoyne.
Everything in doytao is well put together; from the nutrition information page on the first page of the menu, the customer service and the food! Located conveniently on Lyon’s Rd, it’s got plenty of parking on nearby streets no more than 5 minutes walk. The dining area is spacious and comfortable, and wait staff make sure you’re well looked after.
Each dish that came was fragrant and delicious. We tried the Doytao Thai special Masman Lamb Cutlets, Tom Yum Fried rice, chicken wings with mince stuffing, salt and pepper squid, pad Thai with king prawns, BBQ octopus, pork and lamb, Thai beef salad and the tasty charcoal wings (de-boned which was so easy to eat). To top it all off we had the classic sticky rice with mango and Rotanana for dessert.
It was so hard to pick out a favourite, we honestly loved every dish we tried. It felt like we were back in Thailand having an authentic home cooked meal! We love this family owned restaurant, from the atmosphere to the great food!
Friendly waiters. We ordered the pork fried rice, tofu pad see ew and bbq chicken. The chicken was average. However, the fried rice and pad see ew were delicious. Prices are ok but i was charged an extra $2 for egg in my tofu pad see ew which makes that dish $16.9 which is ridiculous to me because the other options (chicken, beef, pork) all containing egg are priced at $14.90. All other thai restaurants ive visited price tofu and chicken pad see ew the same.
Despite this, the food was enjoyable.
Authentic Thai go to. Food is tasty, consistent and affordable. I personally like the vegetarian dishes. They are always prepared crisp, deliciously seasoned, and have generous servings. For me the Doytao Thai stands out from the rest because the dishes are prepared without too much oil or heavy sauces. Great mid week go to.
Classic Sydney Thai. With so much Thai to chose from, Doytao is always a safe and delicious option.
Food ordered:
Not an adventurous lunch, but pad Thai and chilli basil chicken. I have always been a Doytao fan having lived near the Waterloo location for years. The flavours are always spot on and the portions are decent.
Ambience:
Do not expect 5 star service. It is mainly quick and sharp but generally accomodating.
I will be back to one if he many locations!
Best food in the world been heeps of times!!! Very tasty and quick. They have very unique tasty desserts and very friendly staff. Only bad thing is that it can get a bit hot in summer and also staff have bad English but the food is amazing!!! Never been to such a great Thai spot before!! Food is healthy and yummy and plenty of variety on the menu!!!
My girlfriend and I regularly dine here and are always impressed with the food, value and service. Every dish we've tried tastes great and it's consistency is what keeps us coming back. Highly recommended.
Very food Food. One of our local favourites. Good food and good service.
Soft shell Crab a treat,.
Love it, Love it, Love it. We have been eating here for years! We always love bringing friends and family to this restaurant and no one is ever disappointed. The service is excellent, the food is hot and fresh with a fantastic range to choose from on the menu. Can't fault it at all. Best Thai!
Doytao has been at Russell Lea for as long as I can remember. The food fluctuates dependent on the chef. At present they seem to have someone who knows what they are doing at the helm. Try the Pad See Ew!
The Best Thai Ever. This is the best Thai place in Sydney. The food is out of this world. The staff always look happy to see you and keen to make your dine in experience pleasurable. Value is amazing, you can easily have a great dinner for under $30. Try the Sizzling Seafood dish, it literally sizzles all the way to the table.
Excellent food and service. Only downside is it can be soooo noisy in there it can be difficult to have a conversation. Don't like having to shout over dinner!
Was a nice lunch on the $8.50 menu. Nicely cooked with fresh vegtables. Would rate as very good but not as good as the Newtown location. Service was very prompt.
Best Thai food I've had in sydney. Definately go for the Thai fish cakes for an entre and the red duck curry and chilli basil lamb is fantastic. Well worth it
Service is great, staff are quick to replenish your water without asking. Food is tasty and arrives quickly. Price is a little more when you're not getting the lunch special but overall it's still good value for the portion you get.
Great food, good service.
Don't be alarmed by the run down look,
Cant tell you the amount of times I judged a place over the modern look of the place and came out disappointed, this is the opposite.
Humble restaurant with exceeding taste. This place is always busy, traditional but the quality of food is outstanding.
Highly recommend this place
This is our favourite local place in Drummoyne for Thai. Sometimes a bit hit and miss but we always get the yummy beef salad and it’s always great. The flavours have been adjusted for the Australian palate. Not too bad for suburban Thai.
I've always found Doytao Thai's food and service to be very good.
I usually get take-away from the Lyons Rd restaurant, which is now at Russell Lea, because the food & service is just as good as it is for a meal in their restaurant.
