Those Who Love To Eat
+3.5
This place offers a nice repieve from the daily grind ever so temporarily but it is still a reprieve never the less.
The pies and desserts here are really tasty, amd their bread are also devine, on the tad expensive side, but well worth the spend. One of the best bakeries in the inner west and locals seem to agree.
Came here one rainy morning to pick up a coffee and got distracted by their desserts and along with the coffee picked up a pear crumble tart which worked itself into my morning tea repertoire, or more like, made an excuse for it.
Their breakfast here is also quite good but rather limited which can be a good thing, because you'd expect them to be good at it, and they are. Truth be known, i prefer their baked goods than their cooked breakfast.
Really delicious rhubarb tart! Probably one of the best I've had!
The chocolate pistachio cake was too sweet and a bit too sticky, I couldn't taste the pistachio.
Just a door or two along from the Village Bakery is Bowan Island bakery, which is well known across Sydney for its breads. The bakery cafe has a big range of prepared sandwiches, rolls and cakes. I opted for a fruit mince pie, one of my favourite xmas foods. Another good bakery choice.
Great service. Great food. Great coffee. Best black coffee I've had in ages (most places have sour bitter black coffee).
The staff were lovely and service was quick.
What Bowan Island offers is simple, comforting food at its best while Copo Café delivers the memorable twists of simple beloved dishes. With its reassuring array of healthy wraps, assorted sandwiches, and not-so-healthy pies, this is the kind of place that reminds you of simpler times. And you really shouldn’t ask a bakery for more than their bread any more than asking a
My go to sandwich is the caramelized onion, rocket and cheese toasted sandwich with olive bread. Also the chocolate and oatmeal muffins are delicious. Coffee is bitter though
I just had the best hot cross bun ever. And I have had a few. Also got one of their pies in the oven, haven't tried it yet, but looks and smells amazing. The place is tiny, and very rustic, menu is limited, but what they do is 100 percent. Would love a simple bacon and eggs with some of their beautiful sourdough, but alas, none to be seen. I will be coming back for sure, if you love great bread, pies etc, check em out. Ps, they do great coffee as well.
I love it. The cakes a great and the service to die for.
Great coffee. Bowan makes great coffee! I've been there numerous times and even though its always busy, service is fast. The oatmeal/choc biscuit is also very good. The only thing to fault is its very crampy and feel like I need to get in and out quick however for Takeaway its perfect for me.
Great coffee, always! Yummy treats to eat. It has a nice french cafe feel. Friendly and fast service. Defiantly recommend.
Best sour dough in Sydney. Quick pleasant service. I have become a regular upon moving into the area.
This has been my local for 21 years-David runs a pretty sharp shop-staff are polite and friendly. French toast second generation is super! Coffee of course is very solid otherwise I would not turn up :) I would appreciate a electronic loyalty program but now I am quibbling in the margins. It can get busy so time your visit.
Ps. Some complimentary wifi would also beneficial for those without 4G/5G data.
Best milkshakes and Anzac biscuits. Service was so nice, too! Highly recommend:))
I've yet to be disappointed here. Generally this is a pit stop for me and a take away, although I have eated in a few times. The quiches are melt in the mouth delicious and the filo's really tasty and fresh. Good coffee too.
Sometimes, it is difficult to find a park and they are not dog friendly (probably a council thing?) There is a pet parlour next door, which will mind your dog at a small cost if you don't want to leave them behind, which you have a quick bite to eat.
I’ve been getting my coffee from Bowan Island for over 12 years now, absolutely the best coffee. If I’m not in the area during the week, I still drive all the way to Drummoyne to get my cappuccino from here. Food is sensational and the staff are lovely. Highly recommend this cafe.
