Wanted to try this place many times and today was THE DAY! Wow, wow. ...went to Heaven and back. The most amazing quiches and pies. And the cakes. ..to die for! !! Silver and Gold awards from Royal Easter Show for at least 5 years running. Highly recommended! !
We love this place! The John scroll is a must have as are all the cakes. I love that you get a delicious little biscuit with your coffee and the babycinos come with a cute little meringue. Friendly service. The best!
Great food (savoury treats AND sweet treats), lovely staff, and nice spot in Dully
Our fave cafe in Dulwich Hill. The croissants are amazing!

great warm & personal service cakes are always on point!
John's scroll is in my top three breakfast pastries of all time, and I'm addicted to the potato rosemary and truffle bread.
I love this place so much. Everything is almost always on point. I think your pies could have more filling though (the pastry and filling individually - and as a pie, are lovely). :) that's my only complaint. Coffee is good and quick. You stir the sugar if I ask for it (a surprising number of places don't)
Such lovely, friendly service and a gorgeous range of gluten-free cakes, it is now my favourite Sydney dessert cafe.
Brilliant cake shop and wonderful service - thanks so much for my Oreo cake (that I finally managed to collect!)
Yummy pastries, best savoury rolls , perfect coffee , great service! Ohh and my favourite is that home made marshmallow you serve with hot chocolate.. never tasted anything like it!
Great coffee, the cakes, tarts and pies are all of a high tasty standard. Adding this place to the weekend routine
Thank you Simon and team.
Delicious! delicious! delicious!
Have now introduced more family members to Strawberry Fields Patisserie. It was a "yum", "these are the best", "where is it, we have to go" all round at the table today.

About the only place in the area which serves above average all things sweet though they do have pies n such. Cant go wrong if you happen to crave cakes along with their coffee.
How does it come to pass that I’ve only just recently visited this delightful patisserie for the first time? Admittedly, I was first introduced to their delectable carrot cake last year and it has taken me all these months to finally visit. And then how does one choose from a display with so many pretty sweet things?
There’s glossy chocolate and salted caramel tarts, pastel coloured strawberry and cream cheesecake, nutmeg dusted custard tarts and bite-sized petit fours among the many, many mouth-watering creations. Overwhelmed by choice, I may have defaulted to the “tart” tart but it was in no way an inferior choice, and gives me plenty to look forward to on a return visit.
I drove past this place so many times without knowing it existed. It's a small
Place with only limited outdoor seating, my missus didn't think much of the desserts but I liked it. The mango coconut cake and the pistachio and rhubarb cake were nice to me and not overly sweet. We see awards on there window and we have yet to try there pies and sausage rolls but so far im impressed
Need to be fair so will split into 2 reviews. (update: Yet zomato doesnt allow second review in such a short period hence i will continue here)
I have been to this shop many times and tried a few pies, tarts and desserts their pie is very delicious and has the taste of home made. The shop is also very passionate about making good quality of cakes using seasonal fruits and invented a tart to use up all residual fruits.
This passion fruit and mango cake is full of fruity mango flavour which come out / made of fresh mango and lightly covered by passuon fruit flavour. I am not a fan of passion fruit yet still liking it. I am not sure about others but as I grow elder I started ro concern about excessive sugar consumption but couldnt give up desserts. Hence, " Not too sweet " and less artificials desserts have become one of my standard for evaluation. This cake is just right!
I also like the owner to make some business as usual tarts but also making some seasonal cakes depends on fruit seasons so customer always get good quality of food. This is a big thumb up!
My favourite is their pork pie which only sold for a very short period.
During the xmas period I visited again and was quite disappointed (I trust that it is only one time and a seperate event) - we ordered a sausage roll and a chicken pie as usual. The flavour is different. Sausage roll is just different from the usual taste we remembered. Half of the pie is stuff with flour, only 1/8 of the pie has chicken... The skin is still crunchy and same taste as before thou.

Absolutely love this InnerWest cakery!
Their food is actually delicious in regards to the pies! I recommend the beef stout and the chicken and leak 😋
The cakes (my favourite being fruity and citrus) are amazing!!! One of my faves is the lemon/lime tart because It's so tart!
The coffee is suprisingly alright too, and I'd happily come and eat here for lunch with my friends. The seating area is cute and out of the way from the busy street!
This place is very much worth the amount paid. Balancing quality produce with easy pricing, it definitely is a little nice cafe with a punch of glory. Love it
Great small cafe tucked away from the main road of dulwich hill. Cake and pastries are delicious. Their savoury scrolls are a must to try, they aren't like ordinary scrolls!
If there's one I thing I love more than my dog, baking, nail art and sleeping.. It would have to be patisseries. With a name as tempting as Strawberry Fields, selling wholesome pastries and devilish dessert temptations, it's a surprise I'm not hanging outside their window like a brainless zombie.
Once you enter through the doors, you will be faced with an array of colours so tantalising you won't know where to look. I imagine if I ever found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow this would be it. The biggest dilemma would be to choose just one. After all, we still need to watch our waistlines.
The owners have won a wall of accolades year after year at the Royal Sydney fine food show and their accomplishments only ever improve. To neutralise the sweet, we also ordered their award winning beef pie and quiche. Pastries were short, flaky and melt in your mouth. But alas we are not here for the Aussie favourites, we are here for the desserts!
My companion is an Oreo fanatic and could not pass up the last Oreo cake on offer. I chose the blueberry mousse and...three other desserts to take home. Turn your judging eyes away please.
The mousses, which seem to be a popular item with the owners, were light and airy and glistened under the sunlight. You really eat with your eyes here and that is a good thing because there's certainly a lot to take in. Although satisfying, these babies were not overly sweet and ended the afternoon nicely.
Seating is very limited here but most items are takeaway friendly. Do yourselves a favour and go taste the rainbow.
I really enjoyed the smooth creamy texture of this particular cake. Also, having stored it in the fridge beforehand made each bite made for a very refreshing and sweet experience. White Choc Salted Caramel Mousse This was actually a really good dessert despite being a little bit strong in flavour. I’m a fan of both white chocolate and salted caramel in any shape or form so I really enjoyed this one.
We sat down for lunch, and bought take-away desserts this time around. For lunch we decided to have the bacon and caramelised onion quiche with salad and the john scroll. Everything was absolutely divine. The salad was one of the best I have had in a while. The highlight was the sweet juicy pears shaved into the rocket, so there is sweet and salty bursts of flavour in your mouth as you tucked into the well dressed salad. I loved the caramalised onion in the quiche, and the pastry was light, crumbly and melt-in-your-mouth. The john scroll also never fails to impress with the oozey egg yolk center as you cut into it. For the take-away desserts we had: berry mouss
So smooth, so light, so heavenly, you can do nothing else but let it simmer and ignite your tastebuds. With just one bite, it seems all the world’s problems disappear for a moment. The beauty of it is that it’s not overly sweet and there seemed to be a harmonious relationship between milk chocolate and dark chocolate which could turn anyone into a serious chocoholic. The Oreo biscuit piece was certainly the ‘icing on the cake’. Amazing.

Strawberry Fields Patisserie is part of the new wave of cafes to sweep across the suburb, tucked down a side-street off Canterbury Road. It sits just past the cul-de-sac behind the Commonwealth Bank on Marrickville Road, on the site formerly occupied by Faye Cahill cakes (now moved to Addison Road, Marrickville). Simon Bimson is the owner and pastry chef behind the business which opened in late February this year. In only four months, the spot has already become a regular stop for locals, drawn in by the display case loaded with pastries or the action going on in the open kitchen next-door. We take one of the eight narrow tables perched outsi
Strawberry Fields is the second best thing that has opened up for me in Dulwich Hill, though just like my number one place I have to be mindful of how frequent I visit. All the indulgent treats will catch up with me if I don't be careful and totally give in to gluttony. It's been hard enough trying to keep the winter weight off before this discovery. Maybe a once a month treat. And I've just realised I now have a little slice of Paris on my doorstep ;)
One of my favourite spots to visit. Cakes and pastries are to die for and hands down the best custard tart in Sydney. Warm and friendly staff with great coffee as well, I can't recommend this place enough
Had the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone! Had a wonderful breakfast @ Strawberry Fields as well as put in my Christmas order including fruit cake, gingerbread men & Christmas cupcakes! Highly recommend the large, drink on site cap & Strawberry Fields Forever. Passion fruit & custard tarts amongst my new favs. I'll be back!
Extended Opening Hours. Strawberry Fields Patisserie will be open everyday (except public holidays) through December to give you enough time to place your orders and pick them up for the Christmas period.
Best Patisserie in Sydney. I am sure that I have found the best patisserie in Sydney. After moving to Dully a few months ago I was advised to give this place a try. Great coffee, service and unbelievable cakes and fresh pastries.
Simons creations are amazing and so good to have him local. Fresh croissants, sausage rolls and pies as well as scrolls and beautifully crafted cakes and tarts. My standout favorites are the custard tart - be quick because this sells out fast and the potato and rosemary bread. Hoping this place will be here for a long long time.
Pear and hazelnut mousse is highly recommended
Tasty treats. This place is a gem with some of the best patisserie you will find in Sydney let alone the inner west the pies and sausage rolls are so good especially if you catch them coming out of the oven.
They do a lot of the sweet classics you used to find in patisserie's from the good ol lemon meringue pie to Apple and cherry pies packed with tasty fruit, I particularly like the french inspired things like the Mille fuille and the crocembouche they tend to do at the weekend and you have to go early as they are usually sold out by three o clock sometimes earlier to avoid disappointment... Oh good coffee too
As you tell highly recommended to anyone who wants a bit of what you fancy.
My friend and I came around 3 in the afternoon and the selection of desserts left in the window were limited. So I suggest coming earlier!
I got an Oreo mousse and he got the strawberry shortcake. My Oreo mousse was seriously so delicious and was creamy but not too rich and heavy.
Both dishes were lovely, but I'm not convinced that it's worth the trip out there (took us 45 minutes getting here by public transport).
Grrr. Need to get this off my chest: hello to the shouty guy in the cap (I gather your name must be Simon from the reviews below), please stop yelling at your staff and belittling them when you have a shop full of customers- in fact please just be a bit nicer, full-stop. Your staff all seem lovely and helpful. You just seem very angry all the time.
It's such a shame. I've had several occasions when I've wanted to storm out in protest, but I haven't because I love your bread, coffee and cakes. So I shut up and keep coming back. Hypocrite, much?! You truly have an exceptional business that you should be very proud of, we have never had fault with anything we've tried. Just smile sometimes, please?!
Outstanding. Been here many times and forgotten to post a review - this is really the destination place in Dulwich Hill. Forget about the comments about the owner being a little grumpy - Simon is a mousse master and more. Eaten my way through many of the offerings here and served it up to others - they all agree his mousse is the best they've ever eaten. Quiches, sausage rolls, John scroll - all good but if you don't buy one of the several mousses on offer you're missing out.
And to top it off - the tiramisu is to die for. It tastes like others to begin with but once you get to the bottom of the little cup, prepare for your expectations to be changed.
Can't get enough.
Great Cakies. This place is the bee's knees when it comes to sweet pastries, and their savoury treats are yummy too. I've been here a few times now and on each occasion the owner guy is a bit grumpy and slow with getting the coffee out. But I know he's very passionate about his pastry, and when you get him chatting about it, he warms up. There are many little treats there to tempt the sweet tooth, and I'm still working my way through the menu, but the lemon meringue tart and the trusty custard tart are stand-outs.
Beautiful cakes and pastries. Lovely little place and good customer service.
Lovely patisserie. This place is dangerously close to my house, which is not really such a good thing to have divine cupcakes and tarts so close.
Love this boutique patisserie. Simon knows his customers. It's clear each individual dessert is a labour of love. The custard tarts are made to perfection. My favourite patisserie by far
We are obsessed with the rosemary, potato & truffle bread. Good strong coffee too!
Fresh potato and rosemary bread every Saturday morning without fail! Delicious!
Review. Food: Excellent! All good. Not much of a fan of the bacon/egg scroll, however the almond croissant is perfect!
Service: Good
Atmosphere: Relaxed
Time: Brunch
Return: Yes!
A Gem!. A local patisserie with excellent selection at reasonable prices.
The rosemary, potato and truffle loaf is a must try!
The pastries and tarts are simply divine.
This place is brilliant. Some of the best pastries I've eaten in a long time, with a genuine care for quality and flavour. The staff are always friendly and they make a very decent coffee, perfect for a late breakfast on the weekend.
If you manage to get there before they're all gone, try a John Scroll. It's a bacon and egg scroll taken to amazing extremes. Bacon, egg, onion and sausage all make appearances in a scroll in which the bread is merely there to bind all the tasty bits together. This has cured more than one hangover, I'm sure.
The almond croissants are far better than you'll find in most cafes, with a richness that almost had me deciding to share one. Almost.
My only criticism, and it's a small one, would be that the pâtissier could do with an assistant to keep an eye on the ovens. The concepts are great and the flavours are delicious, but at times I think it becomes a little much for one person to run. That's not to say that anything I've had has been remotely bad, just that it occasionally drops away from the point of perfection.
Wow! Unbelievable pastries and coffees. Never had sweets as delicious as these! Great job to the owners and staff. Keep up the good work and highly recommended to anyone.
Great place for coffee. tried the strawberry fields tart & it was great! filling wasn't too sweet but felt the strawberries lacked that 'berry flavour'. unfortunately there is alot of room for improvement in their service. had to wait for 5 mins before anyone attended to me (& it wasn't even crowded!) and one of the staff took away my plate even before I finished my food!
I accidentally stumbled across this little gem on the way home from the dentist, not an ideal scenario. All the cakes are delicately handmade by a skilled pastry chef and almost too beautiful to eat. My passionfruit tart was citrusy, fresh and tangy and the chocolate mousse cake sprinkled with crunchy hazelnuts was fluffy, light and slowly melted in my mouth. Absolute bliss, I must return to sample the macaroons with liquid caramel and chocolate ganache and blueberries and raspberries and hazelnuts.
So so yummy!!! And the fellas are always lovely :-)
Tastiest little treasures! love the mini cakes and the staff are lovely.
Look Out Zumbo. Simon the chef has an amazing talent of creating create pastries and cakes. His suasage rolls are the best I have ever eaten and will keep going back for more. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. An absolute must go to if you are a lover of pastries.
Taste sensation. This guy's gotta be the best pastrychef in Sydney
I ordered a full-sized New York cheesecake last week for the weekend with only a couple of days' notice, and the entire ordering experience was smooth and with no fuss.
Of course, then we got to eat the cake. I was blown away by how delicious it was - so smooth and creamy - and at such a good price.
You just gained an extra regular customer - thank you!
Hidden gem in Dulwich Hill. Their almond croissant is my weekend guilty pleasure-- absolutely divine!
Their made to order cakes are very special, ingredients are high quality and fresh. I have ordered their New York Cheesecake and Carrot Cake so far and both have been exquisite. The cream used is light and of perfect consistency-- not those heavy creams used that only taste like butter!
Thank you for the berry and mango birthday cake for the two birthday boys! We don't bother going anywhere else for our special occasion cakes because we know that Tina and Strawberry Fields supply the best in town. In all the years that we've been coming here, we have never been disappointed. Love you, Tina!!!!
Friday treat: local bakery Strawberry Fields Patisserie does cracking tarts. It’s both within my Inner West Council LGA and less than 10km from my home so no Australian Defense Force chasing me. The lime tart is filled with a sharp but creamy lime curd, while the custard tart is all about oozing, creamy, nutmeg-sprinkled custard in a firm tart shell. It’s a small, family-run bakery that is being doubly impacted by the lockdown and badly-timed construction with ugly fencing over their front door. Worthy of your support!
Love overdue review! Been enjoying the delicious pastries and cakes here for years!!! Such a diverse and broad range of sweets and savouries favourites. Best custard tart. Best blueberry mouse cheesecake. White chocolate mango. Taro sponge. Gourmet pies and pate chouds! Best prices. Best everything.
The magic truly tastes magical! Lovely service and lovely coffees. The cakes are outstanding.
With the lockdown and restriction it’s really hard to make a birthday celebration special but I am glad that we have strawberry fields in our LGA! Ordered a birthday cake from them and it was GLORIOUS! The mango fresh cream was so so so delicious and the sponge was fluffy and moist. THANK YOU STRAWBERRY FIELDS PATISSERIE!!!
Loveliest owners you'll ever meet. Their iced coffee i ordered this morning was divine, and have bought their cakes and pastries in the past. Give them some love and go out of your way to see and buy their scrumptious cakes, pastries and delicious coffees/drinks, delish!☕🍰😊
