When we miss Indonesian food especially considering there is no way we can get to Bali during Covid this is our spot. Our favourite is the Mee goreng and beef rendang. Some great flavours complimented really well with their super spicy sambal - yum!
I have not been here in a while so a review is due! Always been meaning to come back here as I love their mie ayam. So we did order different things today, nasi padang for me, nasi seafood bakar for her, and sate ayam just because we feel like it. They put good amount of rendang, chopped chicken curry, vegetable curry, whole balado egg, salmon was used for the grilled seafood, satay was a bit dry but tasted authentic. Overall it was not amazing but I am biased here as their food always reminds me of home street cafes where they put a lot on a plate. So taste wise above average, value is great, you get a lot for what you pay for. We also had 2 noodles to take away for dinner.
I absolutely love this place. Great value for money. Ultimate soul food. The place does not look that appealing but the food makes up for it.
••• Nasi Goreng Lamb: The lamb is so tender. The rice is just too yum. The flavours are just amazing.
••• Grilled Fish: A bit spicy. A bit hard to eat considering its the whole fish. But the flavour is just wow. The skin is so crispy. The fish is very juicy.
••• Ice Condol: Wow. This drink is just unique. The little jellies in the drink are a surprise. I believe it is a pandan drink.

Some decent vegan options, I had to make sure they understood my dietry requirements but once we had lift off my vegan nasi goreng hit the spot and the drink selection reminded me of our last Bali holiday. A bit cramped at dinner but still worth it.
I've eaten here once but gravitated towards Batavia Corner just down the road. From what I've been told Bintang is even better than it used to be so I'm going to give it another crack. I had satay sticks and rendang with steamed rice and remembered enjoying both.
Love the flavour, love the service, love the price - so glad we discovered this place last year - highly recommended!
I’m a vegetarian - my food in some eateries can be bland once the meat & egg are removed, but here even a plate of rice is so satisfying. My partner eats all the meat dishes and has always enjoyed his meals. Right now he’s eating the nasi goreng special and it’s “very good”.
We usually have a starter, 2 meals & 2 drinks for around $36 - good value!
I don’t often write reviews, but this place is unique and deserves a good one!

As a Malaysian-Indonesian person, this is the place that I will always ALWAYS go to if i’m craving for sambal and good taste of my home / hometown. Nasi goreng kambing and iga bakar sambal are the best in Perth !!
Bintang Cafe is a classic case of a low-budget, no-fuss eating joint with great food and good drinks as well. I honestly can't remember the names of what my partner and I ordered, all I remember was that it was delicious.
Another highlight were the speciality drinks that I've seen nowhere else. Again - names are a blank, but they were delicious.
This is definitely a place you can go, try something new, and you won't be disappointed. The decor isn't that big of a deal when you see how reasonably priced all the food is, and how generous the portion sizes are. The staff are friendly and efficient, and you don't have to wait too long either.

The food is quite cheap here and the quality is not bad. The space is small and cramped but Overall not a bad place for a quick meal. The service is pretty quick
An affordable place for simple food. The place isn't the most attractive looking place in town, but food wise, it's not bad for the price you pay. A few favourites:
* Ifu Mie - very generous serve of crispy egg noodles with egg sauce over it
* Tahu Telor Saos Kacang- The peanut sauce over the egg omelette and tofu is yum!
* Rendang Sapi- Beef is tender and rendang is tasty
The rice dishes are sometimes a hit-and-miss, depends on what you order. Sometimes, side dishes (eg, the satay, tofu, fried chicken, etc.) are really fresh and enjoyable, but sometimes, they can be a little cold or dry.
We prefer the fried fish over grilled fish- our grilled fish was a little way over burnt, hence it wasn't throughly pleasant to eat. But the rica-rica sauce over fried fish is pretty good.
This is a good place if you're after a good value for money meal.
Cheap and cheerful with lovely tastes of Indonesia on offer. Can’t fault any of the numerous menu items I’ve sampled but can’t go past the grilled meats! Great value for money.

Excellent value for money, lots of vegetarian options and good service. Hard to fault. Not a fine dining experience but a wonderful traditional meal.
Soup buntut (oxtails soup), ayam bakar are delicious. I am from Indonesia so I can fairly say this restaurant offer the authentic taste of Indonesia. Of course it is not like you are having sop buntut in one of food stall in Indo, but hey the food tasted good. And sambal terasi they serve definitely steals the show😄
Nah ada kesempatan buat coba makan masakan Indonesia di Perth ,WA . Namanya Bintang Cafe , yg kalo dilihat dari restonya agak kecil dibanding resto lain yg ada di Perth. Kalo buat harga makanan disini bisa dibilang masih masuk akal, ngga terlalu mahal . Buat rasa kebetulan masakan yg saya pesan kwetiau goreng bisa saya akui cukup baik rasanya. Buat nasi goreng ada sedikit kritik buat nasinya , karena nasinya terlalu lembek , seandainya kalo nasinya pas tidak terlalu lembek maka masakan ini pasti sempurna.
A nice little cafe which serves Indonesian food. The food is really tasty. The venue is kinda small and not really nice. The prices are average for the venue and start to add up when you add drinks. Overall it's an ok little spot.
Always come back to this restaurant for their authentic Indonesian food. The place is very casual, the food is good and authentic, pricing and portion is definitely very reasonable. My favourite dishes are the nasi seafood bakar (grilled seafood rice) , nasi kuning komplit (yellow rice) , bubur ayam Jakarta (chicken porridge) and tahu telur (egg and tofu). Having said that, their noodles are good too as it is home made and one of my favourite Indonesian noodle place in town. I think I must have tried most of their food by now and it barely disappoint.
cheap food at a cheap looking place, gives it a real south east asian feeling. also there is a risk of runny poo poos after eating here. like 1 in 20 so its not too bad but it is there. great place to go if you are early 20s and hungry. or older and pinching penny. but for the price it has the best nasi anything in perth
The Iga Bakar Penyat is terrific. BBQ beef. Can have it with chilli, peanut sauce or plain. The staff are pretty friendly. Best to get as takeaway.
One of my favourite place in Perth. The nasi goreng kambing is consistently good. The beef ribs and other BBQ dishes is also very good. The price is also very reasonable.
The kweh teao (however you spell it) was delicious and very affordable!! Great work! Also the service was fast and easy. I will definitely be back!
Good Indonesian food on a budget.
We have been here several times and consistently had fresh food. Our favourites are beef ribs, kangkong spinach and grilled fish! Traditional tea (teh tarik) is also a nice drink after meals.

Had Fried Duck (Bebek Goreng) with rice as it was special for the day and I love it. With any Indonesian food, the chilli was superb! Husband had fried rice and loves it. This little cafe reminded me of Indonesia - the moment I stepped into it, I got transported to Bali. Definitely authentic food at reasonable prices.
Will go back for more!

I think the food was delicious, the combination of food was good.Basically, Nasi Bebek is my favorite dish.They cooked it well and the waiters are friendly and the restaurant looks a bit small but it is clean,and simple.
It was my first experience to eat in restaurant in Perth.
Also the price is very cheap, just need to bring at least $15 you can get one meal.
Unfortunelly, they closed early.
Get takeaway every now and then and am not very experimental standard order is Nasi Goring, Mie Goreng and Beef Rendang - Always spot on!! really enjoy it

1. Iga Bakar Saus Kacang, 3/5, Just OK. Tried this based on Kudokun 's suggestion. Iga bakar at Manise Cafe is much better, more tender and has more sauce.
2. Rendang sapi - Beef Rendang, 3.5/5.0. I like the rendang at Kedai Perth better than the one here at Bintang. The best rendang in Perth is still at Indonesia Indah Restaurant.
Really, really nice. If you've been to some of the quieter places in Bali, you'll love this place. It's a little hole in the wall, but the girl serving is genuinely infectious with her good humour and smiles, the food is delicious in generous servings, and everything is cheap! This might not be the place for everyone, as you get your own cutlery, and it is humble in it's layout. But if you appreciate good food, good prices, and lovely staff, I really cannot recommend this place highly enough!
I took my parents here (they go to Bali regularly) and informed the girl working there that I bought them here to try their lovely food. One of the staff bought out a plate with samosas, spring rolls and squid rings on it to our table. We informed them that we hadn't ordered it, and the girl told us with a big smile that it was a gift to us from her. It was a simple little gesture, but this is the kind of friendly service we've become accustomed to!
IGA BAKAR SAUS KACANG. That’s it. I repeat, Iga Bakar Saus Kacang!!! You must try this. That’s the only reason why I keep on coming to this small, humble, simple yet actually delicious, affordable and homey Indonesian restaurant along Victoria Park.
Their IGA BAKAR SAUS KACANG (ribs with peanut sauce?) is heaven. Portion is quite big for a $9.50 meal. The meat is soft and it taste really good. I definitely recommend all of you to try this delicacy. I usually ordered this with rice and Indonesian classic tea: Teh Kotak.
If you want to try something different but also cheap and delicious, they also offer plenty other choices. Ones I have tried and recommend are their Mie Ayam (Chicken Noodle), Bubur Ayam (porridge), and Nasi Goreng (fried rice).
While the place is small, I actually never really experience long waiting time. The food comes in quite quick. There are plenty of car parking along Vic Park and you can also do take away.

Very okay food , with fantastic affordable prices. Reminds me of my younger university days.
Gado gado (boiled vegetables with satay sauce) was simple and saucy. Fried rice special was a huge serve and two satay sticks drowned in satay sauce. Nasi Komplit was with tender rendang pieces and with a dry piece of fried chicken. Typical cheap fare, with large portions and a lot of spice that surely satisfies a student's cravings.
Walked into this restaurant as our usual place was closed and this looked reasonably busy (usually a good indicator for tasty food). Food was absolutely delicious! No frills, but service was quick and staff very courteous and patient with customers unfamiliar with their menu.
Best noodles in town! Grilled chicken with hot sauce was to die for.
You shouldn't expect any frills in this simple, handkerchief sized cafe - it's equipped with a half a dozen laminex tables, a drinks fridge in one corner and a shelf with condiments in another. Some brightly coloured walls and artwork brighten up the place.
What you can expect is gracious service and a quick and great value meal. We shared a couple of very large dishes - a nasi goreng special with chicken satay and omelette and a mee goreng with chicken - that at $21 all up represented great value for money.
Both dishes were spot on and we left full and happy. Although we only happened upon the place accidentally I'd make the effort to go back there.
Slowly working our way through Vic park and this was a good find. Very unassuming restaurant with basic decor. Wait staff were friendly and quickly cleared and cleaned the table from the people that just left. Food was moorish and had a variety of different flavors on one plate. By far the stand out was the satay sticks and 5 wasn't enough !
This place is a hidden gem in my book. This is the place I go to when I have no idea what or where to eat. This place opens 7 days a week until 10pm at night. One of my favourite dishes is the Nasi Goreng Special where you get two satay sticks and one fried egg on top. Other times I come for Nasi Bali or Nasi Kampung which are also my other favourites.
Great little restraunt. I spend alot of my time in Indonesia a few months every year. And i always come home and miss the cuisine. Great selection of food. Mie Ayam tops my list and a side of Rengang to nibble on hits the spot. Even walking in the cafe reminds me of being back in Indo. Bahasa being spoken so freely. Love this place always hits those Indo food cravings on the head. Food is delicous

Good food but the place is too squishy. Another alternative for indonesian food. Love their nasi goreng, iga bakar/grilled ribs, and chicken congee/bubur ayam.
The best Indonesian food one can find in Perth. Service and staff are really good and friendly too. Only problem is that the restaurant area is quite small.
Nice flavours, authentic Indonesian. Big serving size especially for the price! Great value for money, it lasted me two meals - took half home in a takeaway container.
A good variety in the menu and the dishes are all good. The only thing that I have been disappointed with at Bintang is the Es campur, was great the first time but the next few contained jackfruit that was well past it's edible/enjoyable life expectancy. We come back for the value.
Didnt think we would find a place like this outside indonesia. Authentic tasting beef rendang and satay sticks were a real treat. Bandung drink tasted just like the real thing. Highly recommend.

AB and I had a few choices late this afternoon as we strolled around East Vic Park. Indonesian, burgers, or Italian? AB had a hankering for rice, so that narrowed things down somewhat. Bintang or Batavia Corner - both serving Indonesian food, and both within a few metres of each other. We liked the cosy feel of Bintang, so that won us over.
We started with a serve of samosas with sweet chilli sauce at $3.50. These small triangles were fresh, crunchy and tasty.
A serve of chicken satay Madura style followed. The chicken was a tad chewy, but the sticks were flavourful and served with a rich peanut sauce. AB later smothered the omelette on the nasi goreng with the sauce. He's a big fan of sauces if you haven't figured that out already.
Now, the piece de resistance - the nasi goreng special. This was one of the best versions of this I've tried outside of Indonesia - fresh with generous chunks of chicken, with 2 satay sticks on the side and a generous omelette on top. Really delicious.
Our meal including 2 drinks was $27 - bargain. I've paid that for a salad before, and this was much more tasty and satisfying. Service was super quick, and it's obviously a popular spot as attested by the stream of students coming in for a feed.
This place serves really traditional Indonesian food. One of the few places that sticks to authentic recipes and cooks the food exactly like it would be cooked in Indonesia, recipes are not altered to suit western taste, so most customers are indonesian ex-pats.
Been here several times. This place is great if you're looking for some cheap meals. Enjoyed many dishes, the Nasi Goreng special is my favourite dish.
I have had some really good dine in meals here in the past, buy my last take away just quite wasn't the same. Possibly, it was the drive home that changed the texture and taste of it. In future I will stick to the dine in only, after all, you can't beat food straight from the kitchen to table.
I thoroughly enjoyed the flavoursome dishes here. I had a rather runny beef curry, which had plenty of tender beef. The gado gado was amazing! Transforming boring steamed vegetables smothered in satay sauce was superb. The grilled chicken in sambal packed a bite and lots of flavour. Loved it.
After a visit to bali and a local telling me about this place... I checked it out small and nothing special from the outside.. Walk inside and the food just like bali...loved it a real treat

This little place can get packed during dinner time, but they have serious taste for Indonesian cuisine. it doesn't take long for them to serve the food, guess they have it prepared in the morning. if you want your food even tastier, EAT WITH YOUR GODDAMN HANDS. Indonesian food ain't good if you eat with cutlery (except for anything soupy or just plain fried rice obviously).
Cheap eats that satisfy my craving for the humble n authentic Indonesian food. No service provided but i aint complain. I felt like being at home. Perhaps they need to add more Indonesian delicacies into their menu :)
Mi Goreng. Tried for weeks to get to Vic Park to go to Bintang Cafe. Was not disappointed. The meal was delicious and well cooked. It was worth the drive from north of the river. The prices were low too.

Great cheap eat. A tiny hole in the wall that offers tasty, cheap Indonesian style food. Great value at around $10 for a decent sized dish. The Nasi Goreng Special is filling and satisfying.

This is one of my favourite places in Victoria Park. Authentic Balinese food and the prices are so good. Always get the clear soup if you're going for a meal here.
I have been hearing reviews about this restaurant from my friends. and finally went there to try it. now i can see what the fuss is all about. the food were delicious, with its generous serving, and considerable price. i had nasi campur and had a gado gado for take away. yum! :)
Best value in town with out a doubt can't count the amount of times we have been there .best beef randang in wa can cut with a spoon and msg for all the haters don't go to Indonesia (BALI) you don't deserve there hospitality. As for the satay sauce it's a peanut satay (Original) to indo and can't be beaten all the satay haters would not know a good satay sauce if it was staring at them from the bottom of toilet bowl. Bin tang best indo in perth!!!!!!!

Saya suka sekali semua makanan di Bintang. This is my favourite restaurant in Perth.MoStly to eat i came here. It doesnt mean originally i came from Jakarta then i am definitely like Indonesian food, but for Bintang i would say it is good or standard food in Jakarta taste like this. almost every food is like what is the original of indonesia food. sambal terasi is very important for those who love spicy. mie ayam nya perfect. This noodle is so yummy,nothing taste like this in Perth. Ayam mbok berek is also good for those student who miss this food back in indonesia. Terima kasih buat yang punya, tanpa bintang ,gue bakal kesusahan di kota kecil ini....Bravo for mas Ari and friends...
There is nothing like their clear soup. When solid food is too much because you haven't eaten or slept in a while their 50c clear soup gives you the required nutrition to live another day.
Cheap food, big portions... and best of all it tastes good! Not the fanciest food I've ever had, but for a simple quick meal it beats fast food hands down.

Such tasty food and so very cheap! I had the Nasi Kampung, the sambal chicken was smoky, spicy and moist and the tempe, tofu, noodles and rice were all very good too. I especially love all the condiments provided on the table. Our group of four was very happy and satisfied and will definitely be returning!

Wife and I went here the other weekend, food was well priced, tasty and serving sizes weren't too bad. Tables were fairly sticky and they didn't stock any diet drinks. All in all I was happy with the experience and would dine here again. The beef rendang curry is exceptional!

Went for lunch today and the food was delicious!! I forgot the name of the dish I ordered, but it is egg noodles with grilled chicken and some mushroom. The cafe atmosphere was lovely. I will definitely go back 😊
