Fantastic food and great service we have been coming with our family to this place for years and love it
Really great food, and friendly staff....
Fast service, excellent fresh food, lots of choice ( too much !)
Perfect food, terrific service and owners have a great sense of humour :)
Top notch food, exceptional even plus its very well priced. Highly recommended
Simply outstanding. Happy Meals is our go to restauarant for group and family occaisions. Love it.
Great Chinese/Malaysian and Phenomenal service. Great feast after a big Australia Day!
Always good food šand good service at Happy Meals
Friendly entertaining service, great food
Brilliant as usual. Yummy as usual. Always great food
Very impressed by this restaurant. Lunchtime light lunches are great value, and last night two of us shared a dish with a pot of green tea. Plenty to eat, customised the order for us, delicious food and I cannot wait to return.
Beautiful food and great service
Very tasty food for a reasonable price. Really lovely staff at till, but waitstaff were a little unhappy and hasty when we went in for a sit down meal. Enjoyed the complimentary prawn-crackers. The meals were very quick to come out, so we wondered how fresh the food truly was however this was not reflected in the meals taste. Will be coming back again for the food.
Amazing as always, friendly service, best squid tentacles in Perth! The crispy fried chicken is delicious and never fails to satisfy. There's no long waiting times either.
Came here just before their kitchen closed, just in time for their last call.
We were promptly served their house tea upon request, for no additional charge, I think. We ordered the combination noodles, fried wontons, and honey chicken.
Wontons were okay but a bit sweet in taste. The noodles, we could barely see under all the meat & vegetable toppings, but a tad bit too saucy. The real star of the meal was the honey chicken, which has been the best that I've had!
They definitely have generous servings and for the $45 we paid for all three dishes (for two people) and the can of Coke that we ordered, we got the bang for our buck as we still had enough to take home!
We came here for dinner on Wednesday with 2 friends and for $85 we were pretty happy with the experience. We ordered szechuan beef, honey chicken, sweet and sour pork, fried rice and a combination noodle. All was delicious except the combination noodle, it was very fishy and we didn't eat it. The service was great and very prompt. Can tell it is a well regarded place as the restaurant was quite full!
Happy indeed, this restaurant provides flavorsome food at prices that represent great value in the overpriced world which is the Perth dining scene. It may not strive to be pure in a provincial cuisine, or cater to the now, but kitchen puts out dishes which are instantly recognisable and appreciated to the Aus-Chinese palate. Star of the night was the Chicken soused in vinegar, strange but true. It is a bit heavy on the fried food, no steamer to be seen here, but still take your mob down for some Chinese, and you wonāt regret the experience.
Came by for dinner and was lucky that we didn't have to wait too long for a table. The place was packed and bustling. After getting a table it did take a while to get menus and finally to order but that was expected due to the amount of people there. I thought that the food was really good but some dishes weren't at the same level. Of what we had ordered the duck and taro was amazing. Deep fried duck stuffed with taro served with a delicate sauce. The Char Kuei tiew and fried stuffed beancurd were a bit disappointing but still nice.
Really nice Chinese restaurant with decent prices and servings.
As far as economical Chinese dining goes this place is right up there. I have now been a couple of time s and have not been disappointed. The roast meat platter and sizzling Japanese tofu were amongst the favourite dishes from our fellow diners. This is closely followed by the crispy skin chicken in vinegar sauce. The only reason I haven't rated this place more highly is because it needs some refurbishment. I lived in Vic park for 5 years and never went there because it looked like a regular little shopfront. A few loving touches like renovated bathrooms and updated decor would serve this place well! Aside from those things, the service and food were great!!
I've had dinner here a couple of times. I usually come here for family dinner. Unlike other chinese restaurants, im yet to be disappointed here.
They provide great service. Food comes out quickly following ordering. Price is reasonable. Dishes are quite authentic providing you know how to order proper chinese food. I can't comment about the meals i have yet to order, but i've been pretty satisfied with the dishes so far.
Likely to come back for another meal.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the great customer service we experienced here. The staff went well out of their way to replace our ordered dishes with non-msg dishes (at no extra cost).
We ordered takeaway Shanghai beef, honey king prawns, and fried rice. Unfortunately both mains were soggy by the time we got home nearby, although I'm sure the dishes would have been quite nice & crunchy for those eating in.
This place was surprisingly good as we were in the mood for some Asian cuisine and our usual favourites were closed. We dined on a Tuesday late afternoon at 6:20pm and the moment we went in we were greeted warmly and shown a table right away. From there we were given complimentary prawn crackers which, even knowing how easy it is to make, it was nice. Free food is free food right? From the outside it seems like a hell dodgy Asian place with nothing special to offer, well, believe it or not it was really nicer than expected inside. So, we decided to order the Chicken and Salty Fish Fried Rice and half a Roast Duck, along with some Chinese Tea of course. The food came out so fast it seemed suspicious, but it was served fresh. The fried rice for me personally had too many bean sprouts in it, also the chicken was minced so we only knew there was chicken in there by being told about it. The roast duck was very nice, I'm used to and love my duck moist and juicy, but this came out quite crispy and yet I still loved it. A problem for me and my partner was that we experienced a few lingering flies. We were inside so it annoyed us that there were like 3 flies trying to get in on our dinner.
But I'd definitely return for a second round if nothing in the area has peaked my interest :)
Food is great, well priced and service is good. Always love the stewed pork belly with preserved veg pot, Japanese sizzling tofu and Peking spate ribs or wasabi mayo ribs. It is nicely priced and service is great. They are happy you walked into their restaurant.
Great place to eat chinese in vic park. The only reason why I place this reviee at 3.5 is because the place is a little old and just needs something to breathe it back to life again - I'm talking about the general restaurant fitting.
The food is great and while the prices have gone up a little over the years, we always choose to eat here for big gatherings or family dinners as the taste of their food is just impeccable and service is also great. The staff are very disciplined. You also rarely have to wait very long to get a table as food is generally served very fast!
Happy Meal is one of the usual chinese restaurant me and my friends go to. It is a decent place with quick service andĀ lots of variety of chinese cuisines. Foods are slightly above average (not super great) but it is definitely decent and worth the money you pay. They lack trademark dish but that's not a reason to not go back. My favourite of the night would be the golden fry eggplant, vinegar chicken and the toothfish.
A place to have a happy meal :) There were so many of us and place kinda cramped but they were innovative and place one round table and a small square table together. As for meal time, food was good and we had good team effort of passing the food around so everyone had a taste. Food was great too btw. I even ate the eggplant and I don't usually eat eggplant.
One thing I like about the food here is its consistency. Tastes and looks exactly the same every time.
It's unpretentious and service is prompt.
There's lots of dishes to choose from but our favourites are:
Jellyfish with pig trotters
Salt & pepper squid tentacles
Yam duck
Vinegar chicken
Sesame steamed chicken
Sizzling Japanese tofu with salted fish and chicken
Spinach with mushrooms
Peking spare ribs
Sizzling black pepper beef
Toothfish - both the soy sauce and salted egg yolk versions
For something different, try the wasabi beef. It looks like snot when served but tastes great! Especially if you like wasabi lol.

I absolutely love the food here and have been coming here for years now, keep up the amazing service, food and quality because it's absolutely fantastic.
Couln't stop ordering. Food was very nice and we keep on ordering..Lamb sechuan cook to perfection..Staff very nice especially the young waiter guy..will definitely be back again.
Good Malaysian restaurant, had chicken mushroom tofu clay pot, Peking ribs, sizzling Japanese tofu, beef with Kai lan, soft shell crabs and chilli pepper squid. Quick and fast for busy Saturday night, we always come back here for a good feed.
Eight Seconds Of Food
+3.5
Dropped by for a quick lunch to have my one and only dish - Shredded duck with pickled vegetables and crispy noodles. Highly recommended if you haven't tried it before! Note, there is also a noodle soup version of this dish which is a bit blander and not as good as the dry crispy noodle version.
Have tried a number of other dishes from their menu previously but they are just your standard chinese fare - Nothing really stands out besides the duck.
Service is quick and friendly.
Good food and service, was pretty good I enjoyed it... Staff very good as well.. Worth the visit a little bit more $$ than others on the Vic Park strip
So good !!! Friendly service, great food that comes out so quickly! So satisfied ..
Best Chinese!. Happy Meals is probably one of the best Chinese in Perth. The restaurant is always mobbed, the food is delicious, the staff are excellent and attentive and the price is not too bad but has risen in the last few years. Nevertheless, the portions are generous and ample and very few people leave any food on their plates. A definite crowd pleaser!!
Happy days are over. Food is good, reasonable for a Chinese Restaurant, but what's not reasonable are the prices. Could get the same standard of food or even better for less in Chinatown Northbridge.
Pluses about Happy Meals are the fast service time, and ample parking surrounding restaurant.
Our happy place. In the many, many times we've come here, we've never been disappointed. Great people and great food. Very happy a place like Happy Meals exists so close to home. Recommend you try the Sizzling Moroccan Lamb and the Japanese Szechuan Tofu.
Audrey Thomson. Awesome vinegar chicken!!!!! Best spare ribs in Perth.
Delicious. Had the soft shell crab and crispy chicken. Was delicious and also tasted really crispy. Happy with the food overall and will come back for more.
Expectorating?????. Very nice food...however did not enjoy eating whilst one older, shorter male waiter kept expectorating (HUCKALOOBA - and loudly) every 10 minutes or so and spitting into the sink behind the bar!! Made my stomach turn whilst eating...I mean YUK!!!!!
Favourite dish - sizzling jap tofu and shanghai beef
We always come to this place with our family and friends and never disappointed. Our favorite is the Japanese tofu with salted fish n egg, for a reasonably priced casual dining place, this place is highly recommended.
Lots 'a Duck!. Got the roast duck noodle soup, was happy at the amount of duck in the soup. Squid was great and so was gai lang in oyster sause. A nice quick and cheap lunch.
Good food great service and very friendly staff. Try the soft shell crab. One of my favourite dish.
Under new management the quality of the food and service has picked up significantly !!
I had no problems previous to the change in ownership but am now enjoying it so much more!
Curry King Prawns
San choi bow
Satay beef
Chicken with cashews
All winners !!!!
It's my family restaurant for 15 years... Not as cheap as it used too but it still well priced. A place to go when you want a good Chinese food without the hassle of finding parking in Northbridge.
Very happily surprised. Called in for an unplanned takeaway, first parking option..... Full of Chinese and Malaysian which is usually a good sign. Ordered simple family dinner A, as I was devoid of decisions after a tough day at work. The spring rolls were yummy, the wontons full of spiced pork and recently fried. The fried rice was light and fluffy with tasty fresh prawns, sweet and sour pork was rich and nicely sour. The szechuan chicken was full of flavour and the sizzling garlic beef was loaded with garlic and a real taste explosion. We eat Chinese at least 4 times a month and I was truly blown away, there are so many average places..... This was a real treat, I will be going back!
The best Chinese restaurant meal I have had in a long time. Beautiful, fresh ingredients and lots of different flavors. The spare ribs were amazing, lots of fried chillies, crispy batter and not the slightest bit greasy. Efficient service to 16 happy customers and also great value for money.
Worth It. Location: right in the middle of Vic Park, very easy to get to
Food: generally good, some dishes are excellent
Service: friendly
Wait Time: never a cause for complaint
Value: more expensive than other nearby Chinese restaurants, but not overpriced
Verdict: good food with a good range of options
I love this place and so does everybody at work. This is the one place we always go to and are never disappointed.
Food is tasty and delivered fast. Not as cheap as it used to be but reasonable.
Slightly better than tenten
My go to Chinese Restaurant. I come more often than i care to admit. Why? the food is amazing, interesting, authentic and cheap. The menu is extensive, the restaurant is loud, busy and bustling.
Warm comfort food and a warm family restaurant.
If you only go there once you MUST try their salt and pepper squid as entree - the best squid tentacles you will find in Perth and you will never be satisfied with other ones again.
Always a Favourite. We've been going to this place for YEARS now and it's always good.
Our faves - crispy chicken with vinegar sauce, Mee Goreng, Shanghai Beef (mmmm), and they do these great dumplings (sorry can't remember what they're called). Also steamed chicken with ginger and shallots.
Seriously if you're in the mood for good chinese this is the place. It's probably not the cheapest around but it is far superior to the usual suburban chinese restaurant. Plus it's always busy wth people who like good food, and they get heaps of regular customers (just like us).
You won't be disappointed if you have a meal at the place.
Good Food. We visited this restaurant a dew weeks ago, and the food was pretty good. The meat was good quality and the dishes were very large! I recommend this restaurant if you are in the area, or looking for good food at a decent price.
This place is my fave take away place near our place. the food is always tasty and I love eating in too. service is so efficient, just like most chinese places.
I was certainly not disappointed and once again feasted upon another delicious array of food at Happy Meals. All that for about $110 with corkage, water, and a 10% surcharge for a public holiday. For just over $18 per head, itās a really tasty meal at top value.
