My biased review is that this is handsdown the best ramen in perth. Im talking that signature one and the black one... that spicey at level 4 tho... i probably would enjoy if i didnt want to try the other soups 🤣🤣🤣 but yeh it had some decent zing

I really loved the god fire! The hand made noodles were amazing! The only downfall for me was the pork because I like it really fatty and the pork strips at Gensuke are lean (just my personal preference and this didn’t take away from how amazing the ramen is here). I would highly recommend Gensuke and will definitely be a return customer.

after queueing for about 45 mins, i eventually had my turn to have my lunch. the welcome greeting was in a chorus. every team member was very enthusiastic to serve their customers. i ordered the god fire ramen with level one chilli and extra egg as well as a bottle of ramune yesterday. the restaurant interior was simple and cramp, no luxury, but it was so busy that i had to wait for another 45 mins for my ramen to be served although the crew was all in motion. the ramen presentation was also simple, no beauty at all, unlike nâo's and samurai's ramens, but the taste of the ramen was beyond the two afore mentioned. even dosukoi ramen in fremantle market tasted a little less than hakata gensuke's. it was worth-waiting although the price was about 60% more expensive than dosukoi's. I shall return for it's signature's ramen. ありがとうございました arigatōgozaimashita

Best Ramen in Perth so far. I have tried all the ramens. Also completed God Fire level 3, 4, 5, 15, 25, and level 30. Level 30 was very spicy but not so hard to finish the bowl. However my stomach was burning for like 4-6 hours. 5 stars for sure, keep up the great work and standards.

My fave was the AKA ramen so sad that it was a limited run. The noodles are springy, the egg yolk is just runny and the hot soup is slurpalicious.

Fresh noodles with good broth makes such a good pairing for ramen! I thoroughly enjoyed the Black Tonkatsu and lovedddd the spicy vege side dish/condiment. Really good, juicy gyoza with very reasonable prices .. and quick, friendly service! It was fun queuing up with anticipation for 75mins along with other curious, hungry patrons on a cold and busy Friday night... I'm so full and satisfied now....

Best Ramen in Perth. And trust me, I've tried them all. I've always felt that the other Ramen place didn't cook the broth for that long, and when Hakata claimed that they cook theirs for 12hours, I was intrigued and finally tried their Ramen this week. I must say they really live up to my expectation from the service and taste. The price can be a little expensive though , it will cost you $20+ if you order a full bowl, with extra chasiu , egg, and seaweed. Other than that, 5 stars to this new ramen chain!

An amazing bowl of comforting and warming noodle soup.
I have to say they serves some of the best ramen I have tried so far. The broth was devine, rich and creamy, and most definitely not gluggy. It really makes you crave more. Not only that the flavoured egg was done perfectly. Cannot complain. And together with the chewy noodles it just round the whole dish up. Makes it a crave-able bowl of goodness. Yum!

Love the consistently good tonkostu ramen here. The soup is so rich and flavourful and is basically my benchmark for other ramen I try elsewhere. The god fire is our favourite and like how you can customise the spice level. I enjoy the noodles and especially that you can order how hard you like them. I Always get friendly service here and love that they have a reward card system.

This is my go-to spot for one outstanding menu item, their Godfire spicy ramen.
Whilst the Level 35 Godfire ramen might be ridiculous for some, I feel the the ideal heat is around Lvl 16-20, with hard noodles and strong broth.
Other places (ie. Keisuke Tonkotsu King) do a better pure tonkotsu broth ramen, but if you want actual chilli heat, that's still tasty, look no further than these guys.

4.5 stars for the actual score! Everything was super yummy, glad we can pick consistency of ramen, broth was creamy, very strong pork flavour. Both the original and god fire ramen were great flavourwise. Although for the price of 15$ minimum for the portion of each ramen bowl with 1 slice of cha siu, a little bit of fungus, and having to pay more to add 1 flavoured egg and even bean sprouts seem a little bit pricey. But that is alright. After all the broth flavour is unique to most ramen places and we will surely be coming back for more.

Hakata Gensuke an excellent quality of ramen. We ordered the normal level of soup thickness and also normal level of noodle texture, because we want to taste the original taste of it. And all of the variety coming out from the kitchen is awesome. We also ordered the level 4 spicyness of ramen, it was also taste good. The ambience is standard but very clean and they also provide good service. This place is recommended.

Always busy, so not great if your timing is under pressure. Staff are great, but the dining room is a little cramped when its busy. Menu is basic, but the ramen is amazing. Have sampled everything so far. Working my way up to being on the god fire wall of fame.

One of the better ramen places in Perth. my husband loves the broth and he loves ramen. I love the hard chewy noodles (you get goldilock options of soft, normal and hard) with the broth. My only gripe is the same with pretty much like every other ramen shop in perth (except Kai Japanese) - there are very little condiments (chasu , etc) that comes with it and you have to order extra if you want more.

that doesn't stop me from coming back anyway...

In my peasant opinion - this is best ramen in perth.

There’s a few new places that have opened up recently but none of them have quite the same flavoursome and silky broth (Ippudo is close). The godfire puts the fire of god within me and I love it.

Only suggestion is to add some vegetarian options pls

Was very impressed by the broth, good consistency and packed with real pork-bone flavour. Not really a big fan of the black tonkotsu broth in which the sesame overpowered the pork. Definitely would go back to have the signature tonkotsu - noodles were also springy and well-textured (ordered the hard noodle). All in all very good ramen but still prefer Nao in the City. Probably comes second after Nao.

I was craving for a bowl of ramen since it’s winter in Perth. A friend of mine was promoting this place saying how good it is in Melbourne. Hence, we decided to give it a go.

Menu:
• Black Tonkotsu: The black soup derived from fried garlic & black sesame paste. Indeed there is a strong sesame fragrant added to the Tonkotsu soup.
• Signature Tonkotsu: It’s not thick broth which is what I like. Great for vege lover as they are not stingy with the additional bean sprouts & cabbage.
• Chicken Karaage: It was not bad.
• Cheese Gyoza: So so. Basically its just gyoza with cheese & spicy mayo sauce.

Must Have:
Flavoured Egg that is well seasoned with soy & goey egg yolk.

Best ramen in Perth so far. I LOVE this place... been a few times....the black tonkatsu is heavenly with a strong delish garlic flavour; and there's one with the mince on top (I forget the name) which is lovely too. The free spicy veg on the table is a MUST. So gooooood.

About as good as it gets for ramen in Perth. Whoah gotta say, this place is def worth the queueing up for 30 mins for. The noodles are so fresh and tasty and the broth (their very own unique recipe) just creates a flavour explosion on the palate. My only complaint would be the time I went there and tried the “God’s Fire” chilli ramen. Oh my lord I got some broth in my eyes as I was splashing the spoon about and was blind for about 5 minutes! Other than that would definitely go back. There are several decent options for ramen in Perth these days but this one probably has to be the best one in my opinion. Other downside is parking in Vic Park especially on weekends and Friday nights it can be very difficult.

If you're sane and not an idiot, I would not recommend doing @HakataGensukeWA God Fire 🔥🍜 level 35 challenge on an empty stomach (the exact thing I foolishly did 😑). If you can handle chilli, know that this isn't impossible. It would burn a bit, hurt a bit, but all pain would eventually pass.

Arien settled with original tonkotsu 🐷, while Kevin started out with God Fire level 5⃣, Lewis and Steph stepped up to level 1⃣0⃣ and I alone tackled level 3⃣5⃣. When we were told that we could try the new and improved mixture of chilli 🌶, we welcomed the idea because to be honest, we didn't have a point of reference anyway. My ramen arrived a dark shade of red, turning noodles an orange hue. The broth was no longer soupy, it was more like chilli paste at this point. Who knew what kind of chilli went in there but I could identify the nuttiness coming from sesame seeds that wasn't present in level 10. Perhaps that's the new recipe they were referring to. My tastebuds didn't mind the chilli kick at first but as the heat and spiciness combined 🌡🔛🌶, I chose to swallow the soup straight instead of having it touch my tongue first. The chilli wasn't aggressive and didn't instantly attack the back of my throat but it lingered way longer than it needed to. It wasn't an impossible task though, I emptied the bowl eventually and ticked another chilli challenge 🌶☑️ off my list.

I gotta say that although it was burning me from the inside, the soup actually spoke volumes. It tasted good and wasn't spicy just for the sake of being spicy. They could have used much more aggressive and punchy types of chilli but they didn't and that's the Japanese way. Even when they try to torture you, they'd be as thoughtful and considerate as possible.

By far the best ramen in Perth! Staff are always friendly and welcoming to us. Decent portion sizes and explosion of tastes. We’ve been coming back here on the regular to try different specials. My never-fail go to is probably the God Fire and the chicken karaage, it’s seriously mouth watering and I get hungry just writing this review! Authentic ramen is hard to come by perth standards- 95% of “ramen specialists” just throw instant noodles in with chicken stock and call it a day. At Hakata a steaming bowl of bubbly collagen broth filled with stringy noodles will have you scooping and slurping til the bottom of the bowl- you can taste the time it takes to make themselves! Not to mention the delicious spicy veges complimentary to the table. Sometimes quite a long wait, but we will wait patiently just to hit that satisfaction because no other place has come close to compare to Hakata. A bit more expensive than most ramen joints, but well worth the money!

There's something that really shines about the authentic ambiance of this restaurant, being greeted by the cheerful and loud "irasshai!" When you enter the door. The Ramen menu is limited and allows for customisation in terms of toppings, allowing the diner to order the dish. The Ramen on offer are very classic dishes, executed to a high standard, although I did find additional seasoning was required.

August update: went back and the broth was even richer and more delicious then I remembered.

The food here was really great, especially for the price. However, as much I wanted to enjoy the restaurant's ambiance as they seem to provide an authentic Japanese feel environment, it was a bit hard to do so because the place is really busy and crowded. Which made the downside of this place, I understand that they are really popular that they couldnt accomodate to the amount of people that come to their business, however, its just really unpleasant and awkward tht you have to share your meal with other customers just because they dont have enough space for everyone. But if you don't mind, the ramen here is probably one of the best ones in Pertb and must try!! 10/10 would recommend for the food but not for the ambiance :(

Everyone knows this place not because of the food, decor, or hajimemashite yelling staff, but because of the ridiculous line that is ever present. Had the miso tonkotsu ramen. The quality of the noodles were good, and so was the broth. However, they only gave 1 measly slice of pork and were very stingy with the other condiments. For 15 bucks, I expect at least some level of generosity in this department. I'd rather go to Oceans in Roe street.

The menu is not too many items but they are all signature dishes. I love the broth of ramen bowls, it is so delicious and full of flavour. You can choose how you would like them to cook the noodle when you make order. Just have to wait quite long to be seated and too noisy and not comfortable seats tho. So not recommend for those who wanna relax and enjoy the meal gradually. But overall, its good.

I have heard a lot of people rave about this place and that people line up for HOURS in a queue to get their hands on the ramen here. So naturally, I was interested and wanted to try. I waited a few months before checking this place out just because I am not a patient person and was not willing to queue up for hours. Luckily a few weeks ago, my partner and I were in the area and decided to go here at opening time. There was already a line when we got there but we managed to squeeze into the last 2 spots available for the first sitting! #winning. Whilst in the queue we were given pieces of paper to fill out our order. There are 4 different types of broth base to choose from (signature, black, god of fire or shio), all of which are created from pork bones (tonkotsu). My partner opted for Signature because his philosophy is ‘original is best’. I opted for ‘black’ because ‘once you go black you can never go back’. Just joking!!!! I chose black because it had fried garlic and black sesame paste – I absolutely loveeeee garlic. We were going to choose god of fire because we like spice, however it was quite a hot day that day so we didnt feel like sweating hahaha. Maybe next time in winter.

POSITIVE: probably the best ramen broth i've ever had, so rich and flavoursome. Texture of the noodles are very nice. The flavoured egg is always perfect and marinated well. I like how you can customise the ramen to your taste (hard/soft noodles + light/strong broth)

NEGATIVE: I have been there four times on different days of the week. I can confidently say that their cha-shu is probably the worse in Perth, sadly it is always so hard, chewy, dry and tasteless. I don't know how they can get everything else perfect besides the cha-shu..
Also a bowl of ramen is very expensive, if you want the necessary topics like the flavoured egg, seaweed, or bamboo shoots (which should be in a bowl of ramen anyway) its probably going to cost around $20 for a bowl.

I've tried the original, black garlic and God fire ramen here. The God fire is no joke, it's spicy although the chilli can be a bit overwhelming. The other ramen flavours are good but not spectacular. Overall the broth at this ramen joint is good, however they are a bit stingy with the toppings and the thin noodles aren't quite my thing. I do however like the option of choosing the level of saltiness and noodle hardness.

The gyoza is delicious, the karaage is nice and crispy so I would definitely recommend trying the sides.

Irasshaimase! (いらっしゃいませ!)

Now this is a ramen place to remember. Although there was a queue to get in, it was worth the wait. The experience starts with ordering on a paper menu outside and ensuring you have all the toppings, flavors and textures in your meal. Once you are seated, your order is marked to you and the wait begins.

I ordered the Aka Tonkatsu (similar spice to the God Fire level 2). The meal arrived within minutes and the fire begins. The noodles was cooked to my liking and the broth flavorsome with all the spices I expected. It wasn’t too overpowering of a flavor by just nice. The pork serving was enough and very very well seasoned. The Hakata Gyoza was also nice. Not too big of a serve but bite sized so it’s taken in one mouthful.

Overall, it was an amazing experience. Do try it out and taste as many things on the menu as possible. Only down side was the price which was a bit steep, but it’s worth the experience.

Finally I have tried this place! Came here on a Thursday night 7pm with two friends and thankfully we managed to avoid the lines to get in that we have heard so much about!
The service was prompt and polite.
Ramen was divine, I tried the traditional broth with less saltiness and I thought it was salty enough.
The Karaage was delicious like popcorn chicken and the gyoza was also very good.
For us three girls, finishing the ramen was almost enough let alone the Karaage and gyoza. But I think it was good that we could share and try some of the other menu items.
No regrets! I would like to come back and try some of the other types of ramen.

Verdict: It is a great ramen in Perth.

I went to the Melbourne branch a few years ago, and I thought it would be the best ramen in Australia. It was a super creamy and the soup was like “milk” flavour as some tonkotsu ramen in Japan.

Since then, I was dreaming about going back to Hakata Gensuke.

While I experienced Sydney cuisine, I had some of authentic ramen. From the experience Hakata Gensuke in Vic Park serves the one of those ramen, but not what I had in Melbourne.

It was great and I would go back here. I believe it is one of the best in Perth. But you could find the similar in Sydney easily.

The ramen was balanced. As I ordered Japanese standard (noodle softness, soup saltiness), I expected the same ramen which I had in Melbourne. However, it wasn’t.
Although I enjoyed the ramen, the soup doesn’t have the milky flavour and depth.

You will not miss this as there's always a queue outside this newly established restaurant. For the two times that I have been there, we had to queue for about 30 mins on the first (dinner), and maybe 5 mins for the second (lunch). Simple menu and easy to order. I would definitely recommend the black tonkatsu broth. We had quite a number of friends with us and everyone seemed to love their ramen. This ramen is also very comparable to other ramen establishments that are well received overseas. Definitely worth the wait but I do wish that the staff were more customer orientated as the queue maybe due to their inefficiency in their service. Regardless, it has been a good experience overall and will definitely return.

Went here for lunch. Came at 11.15 on a weekday and there was a queue forming but we all got in ok.

Ordered the signature tonkotsu with normal texture noodles and normal saltiness.

Wow. Salt bomb. Not too salty to eat but getting there. The soup had a luscious collagenous texture that comes with boiling bones for hours. Look at that frothiness in the broth - you can tell it’s taken a lot of time. I’d try it with a reduced level of saltiness next time and see how it is.

The noodles were so so. Al dente but quite thin and not the same texture as Nao’s or Oishii’s i.e. not as chewy. The cha shu was great. Serving size is small for the price.

The best thing today was the karaage. OMG so good. I know it’s expensive ($6) but they were large pieces and totally worth it. Would have again.

I had a try of the sesame broth as well and it was alright. I still prefer Nao or Oishii at the moment but will come back for the other flavours and to have more karaage.

I love this place! I have been trying to get a seat but the queue just did not seem to ever stop! So after decided to have an early dinner, I managed to arrive there while there was no queue at all.

The staff was super excited to welcome you in with japanese greetings creating this cultural experience! They were polite and friendly. Eah customer was given a piece of paper with menu and options to choose from; you can adjust the ramen from the thickness of the noodle and the saltiness of the broth.

I ordered the black tonkotsu ramen while my wife ordered the normal. The ramen was amazing! The broth was thick and delicious and rich of flavour down to the very last slurp.

The slight downside for me was the price. It was slightly expensive with $14-$15 for a the basic ramen. You want eggs? That’s $2. You want seawood? That’s another $1.

Decided to come down here for lunch on Tuesday. Arrived just before 12pm and there was already a queue. We were handed out menus and order forms as we were waiting, and was seated about 15 minutes later. We were very impressed with how efficient the process was.
We ordered the Hakata Gensuke Signature tonkotsu ramen with an extra egg, the godfire ramen spice level three, gyoza and the chicken karage. The tonkotsu broth was delicious, one of the best I've had. The godfire was very tasty too. Spice level three was perfect for me. It had enough spice to taste and not too spicy that you can't taste anything else (note: I love chilli).
We also ordered the gyoza which was delicious. The chicken karage was only ok, I didn't find anything special about it, and it was too big of a piece to bite into for me.
Overall I wouldn't mind coming back for the ramen, probably when there is less of a queue.

However it’s quite pricy as it only comes with 1 piece of chashu and some black agaric. If you want to add egg, seaweed etc you would need to pay extra for add-ons. Besides, you always need to queue and it might drives you crazy when you’re hungry!

Came here on a sunday evening around 7.30, expecting a notorious wait of at least half an hour. To our surprise, we were inside within 10/15 minutes! We were given menus outside to browse to optimise our wait time.
Every member of staff, including the visible chef greeted customers in unison as they entered, and sometimes as they left, which gave a warm community ambience.
We tried the traditional and god fire tonkatsu between us. Most authentic ramen I've tasted in Perth!! If you do not eat pork, options are a bit limited. You may choose to leave out the cha su, however it would then no longer be an authentic bowl.
All in all, a wonderful authentic experience, well worth a wait, would come here again in a heartbeat :)

God's Greatest Gift to East Victoria Park in 2017.

Good Ramen for a decent price.

Both signature tonkotsu and black tonkotsu were nice. But basically you can't go wrong with any of the ramens.

The sides however, was disappointing. The karaage and gyoza portion were really small and they weren't anything special. I would recommend you guys to skip on this. Save your money.

The queue tho!!!! If you are starving, don't bother coming. You'll lose your patience.

Love this ramen shop so much! I have been there two times and have tried both the original Tonkotsu and Tonkotsu with black sesame paste and garlic. The former is just classic and nice, whereas the latter has a great balance of black sesame and Tonkotsu. To my amazement, the black sesame does not overpower the Tonkotsu at all. I like to visit this shop outside lunch hours to avoid the queue. I’ll visit this shop again to try the spicy and shio tonkotsu ramen 😋 Highly recommend this shop 👍

I was very excited for Hakata Gensuke to open in Perth especially after hearing about it from the Melbourne franchise. Hakata style ramen was originated from Fukuoka, Japan. The ramen style relies heavily on its cloudy white soup that was created from pork bones (tonkotsu). Master Chef Kousuke opened his first restaurant in 2008 and created his secret recipe of Tonkotsu broth. The menu has four different ramen in Tonkotsu broth, from God Fire (spicy), original Signature Tonkotsu, Black Tonkotsu with black sesame paste and fried garlic, and light Shio Tonkotsu. I opted for the Shio Tonkotsu because it's not as 'porky' as other dishes.

Will come back for ramen, dumplings were ok but over priced. Do not order fried chicken! Below average, too expensive. Ramen soup is special.

Waiting in line to get into this place was like queuing for the rides at Disneyland, where they call out for single riders. It's totally bizarre, but I have to hand it to the staff - they are incredibly efficient and make ordering very easy and streamlined.

If you want to come here for a quiet lunch or conversation, DON'T. The entire staff greet every set of customers with a yell of welcome in Japanese. It's lovely, but noisy every few minutes.

The ramen itself was pretty good. Not life-changing, but it was nice and it filled us up. The gyoza were delicious though!

I'll come back to Hakata Gensuke once the hype dies down. It's worth a trip back.

We came expecting to wait so we were surprised to get in after less than 10minutes for a weekday lunch. I decided to get the god fire with level 3 spiciness, light saltiness, hard cooked noodles and extra egg. I liked that you could choose your preferences. The broth was full of flavour.. although I think they may have added MSG as we were all so thirsty after having lunch. The level of spiciness was good as I couldn’t have handled it any hotter and I can generally eat spicy foods. The firmness of the noodles was good and I actually think I could have gone extra hard. The toppings was a bit stingey with one piece of pork and a tiny handful of the black fungus. For $17, I would have expected more. Luckily the egg was still gooey so that made me happy. Overall I did enjoy it and will be back to try the other flavours.

Came on a Sunday after 2pm, waited five min outside for a table. Am glad it's opened from lunch till late on the weekends. The lining up outside for a table thing needs improvement. First dumb person stands in the sun, everyone else has to line up there too.

We ordered the signature + gyoza. It was tasty but not really wow. I thought I would be giving it a higher rating after seeing the hype this place had, but not for the price and the grumpy looking waitresses.

This is the best ramen in Perth. It is very authentic to real Japanese equivalents in every way. All other ramen places in town are a waste of time in comparison.

Extremely busy ramen restaurant that quite newly opened up. I had tried this ramen joint in Melbourne before and quite enjoy it so decided to try out this one in Vic park. Good ramen and gyoza. Very friendly service.

Ramen is probably the tastiest in town next to Nao. Rich porky broth, springy noodles. The complex flavours yet also simple toppings makes this a top choice for us. Only negative is the price. After all the extras you're looking at near $20 for a bowl of ramen. Too bad that you need to pay extra for an egg. At this price it'll be more of a twice a year visit. I'll stick to my local for 10 bucks.

Its probably the best bowl of tonkotsu you can get in Perth. You get to pick how you want your noodles, that aside it’s well made, thin and straight - as all hakata tonkotsu noodles should be. Also, no, you don’t “wish you could have thick, wavy, yellow noodles”, it wouldn’t be authentic Hakata!
The broth is delicious, and very, very nicely balanced. It is the best thing in the bowl. Chashu is yummy with a little bite. Decent gyozas, delicious salty eggs.

The service is friendly. Staff look like they could afford to relax a little. Then again, I don’t blame them for being a bit tense, their customers are quick to judge and a bit clueless when it comes to ramen. The girl sitting across from us was “sure” ramen comes from Korea.

Its not a life changing bowl of ramen, but it’s a darn good bowl - something Perth doesn’t have. Let’s hope it stays that way.

Worth the wait? Yes. Good eats! Good ramen! Good God! Finally..!

Had to wait 30min for our turn but it was worth it. Good hospitality and service. Highly recomended. The only downside i would say is the commin sharing table to have our meals on. Would have been nice to have some more space in the restaurant. All in all a good experience.

We came here on the thursday evening. We queued for about 25 minutes before we seated down.

I ordered the god fire +4 and my partner the tonkotsu ramen.

the tonkotsu ramen tasted like the ones in tokyo truly authentic. The noodles however i prefered it to be thicker than the hakata style but thats my personal preference it felt like it didnt suit it aswell.

The god fire was nice and spicy however because i ordered it at +4 spice i could taste alot of raw chilli powder in my broth which was a shame. I expected a well cooked out chilli paste taste to it then just increasing the spice levels w additional chilli powder.

The gyoza was ok very small sized however nao seems to do it better and chicken karrage was decent.

I will be back to try their other flavours and when the queue dies down.

Hopefully the next time they have different noodle thicknesses and tsukemen in store and other add-ons. Because the ramen menu seems a bit limited with the 4 choices only.

Waited for a while to get a table and it took nearly an hour to get a table. Their god fire ramen soup was really nice and I think they’re quite authentic but I still like a normal ramen noodle as this is the thin white noodle instead of the egg noodle that I like. Perhaps a suggestion that we can choose our noodle in the future. The gyoza is not too bad but a little small in portion though.

Excellent Ramen, friendly service and good pricing. I'll be back to try more (only had to wait ten minutes), pity they don't have a few beers to wash it all down with.

20 minute wait. First 10 to get in. Interesting format. We were given the menus and order form outside. Promptly filled it out.
At 11.30am sharp the OPEN sign gets displayed and we’re ushered into the restaurant a group at a time.
The sitting is shared because “that’s how it’s done in Japan”. I thought when in Rome...
One of my pictures show an assortment of condiments on the table.
We get our gyoza. It was nice but I’ve had better.
Then came the main meal. I ordered the Signature Tonkotsu. Made that choice because I wanted the base line reference.
Alas my original ramen arrived. The broth looked fairly thick.
There was chives (optional), black fungus, a sliver of pork with my normal soup and normal textured noodles.
The broth was thick and flavorful. I added the egg option.
Overall it was tasty but for all the hype I felt a little let down.
Maybe I thought there might be more ingredients or more included for the price.
I don’t get the queue. But that said I’ll return only to try the Black Tonkotsu and wait... God Fire!!!
Ambience is new and fresh.
Service was good. Very attentive and helpful wait staff.
Food 7.5/10
Ambience 8/10
Service 9/10

Be back soon!!!

Decent efficient operation. It's popular, so evening queues are likely, but their tables turnover quickly. This is partly due to the mobile ordering system they have. So, orders are quick, food arrives quick and you're out the door quick. The food is good and service very good, though impersonal You'll be in and out in 30mins...

Best ramen in Perth in my opinion! Broth has great flavour no matter what you choose, and the noodles taste like they are cooked in broth so they have great flavour too. So filling every time, and the best katsu chicken I've ever had!!! Only problem is that because they're so popular, you feel like you're being rushed out of the place as soon as you're done, they could definitely open up another branch and do amazing.

This is my go to ramen place. Because of the place size, usually we need to wait in line until seat available. I like how ordering is being done now. It used to using a paper menu where we tick our order. Now they use online menu ordering using our phone. If using phone is not possible, they can still take order at the counter. I love their ramen because the broth is smooth, tasty and thick. I always add the spicy vegetables condiments, together with garlic and ramen sauce. One thing I noticed, one bowl of ramen now has less stuff in it. One bowl used to having egg, seaweed and bamboo shoot. But the ramen is very enjoyable to eat The service has always been the best, very polite and customer focus. I always finished my eating with satisfaction. Will I come back? Absolutely.

I loved this Japanese restaurant. Even though we had to wait 30 minutes to get a spot, the service was great and so were the noodles. The noodles were simple but very deep and flavourful thanks to the pork broth. The place was filled with people and so I understand the hype around here, it's also been around for quite some time as seen by the awards on the wall. Definitely returning again :)

I just had the shoyu ramen in hakata and it was delicious! It serves with chasiu, bamboo shoots, black fungus, nori and marinated egg. Everything was perfect, the ambience was cozy and the staffs were friendly! Arrived around 8pm and it has no queue and not busy! Overall, I had a good visit here
