Review Christinas Restaurant - East Victoria Park

S B
I heard that Christine's was under new management , I have to say i been wanting to check them out for about a month ,I live local and support my local business. I went there with the thought of having a fresh pasta , The menu came out and I really was not sure what was going on. What type of restaurant is Christine's now ?? . Pasta yes , Pub food great idea , But curry ??? as well . Was i in a Indian restaurant , Pub or Italian restaurant . There are Indian restaurant's on the strip but Christine's would not be my place to go for a curry I have to say i was totally unsure what to have and decided on the steak sandwich The new management have done some improvement's to the place and it is looking much better ,But it is still not there yet . If anyone knows the history of this place it was one of the first restaurant's to open on the strip and deserves it's place there and I would love to see this place come back to its former glory But needs to work out it identity and it's vibe ( Have to say i did like the back wall graffiti look , ) Is it an Italian restaurant with a pub food twist , could be onto some thing here. My Food Review : 5 stars for value for money , 5 stars for service , 4.5 stars on my food 3.5 stars on the restaurant vibe Total review 4 stars . I would recommend checking Christine's out and support a new local business , because with out support no business can grow .

It was awful from the first bite. We ordered the Bruschetta which was just soggy and overloaded to the point where nothing stayed on the bread. We had no entree plates so we had to use a napkin as a plate while my partner used the serving plate the Bruschetta was handed on. The milkshakes were warm and I had the Buttermilk Chicken Burger only to be serves a pile of inedible garbage. The avocado was well past its use by date because the taste was repulsive. The cheese was horrible plastic and the buttermilk fried chicken was tough and tasteless. My partner ordered the chicken parmigiana and had a few bites and refused to eat any more. The food all seemed as if it had been frozen for centuries and defrosted in a microwave before being served to customers on a sticky and wobbly table. Even the hot chips served with each dish were bad. How do you manage to screw up hot chips?! They were soggy and practically had no salt at all. The staff seemed friendly enough however they must not be that switched on as we were seated and given a jug of water but no glasses to drink from. I would highly recommend avoiding this atrocity. We only went here because everywhere else was booked out and full. Never go to a place that serves Italian and Indian cuisine on the same menu as western styled burgers and pub food; it just shows how much they lack the ability to specialise and are desperate to put every single meal they have heard of onto one menu to make it look full of ridiculously overpriced options. NOT WORTH THE $80.

Wow ! we had exceptional meals cooked to perfection... Compliements to the Chef.. We have eaten here so many times over the years and always walked away very contented, the Service is beyond any exceptations. Christina herself, homely, welcoming as always with the prices very, very reasonable.. 10/10 Would recommend anyone to book in and experience this wonderful restraunt.. especially for functions eg. Melbourne Cup and Christmas etc or even a lovely night out. Thank you all at Christina's

An 'Italian' restaurant that sells Indian food and pub-style burgers? The management of this place seriously need to decide what they want this place to be. It makes no sense to have all those options in one menu. If you want Italian, Indian or pub-style food there are plenty of other options around East Vic Park that are way better than this place.

First time here an absolutely amazing time, out waiter was on point throughout our dinner, the portions were huge for a main meal which is awesome and you certainly get value for money. Good prices and we'll worth a visit if your in East Vic Park. Well done

Bit disappointed with the menu as it's changed with the new owners. No pasta dishes which was why we went there as we were expecting a nice Italian meal. Wasn't very busy

We had a very pleasant meal at Christina's Restaurant last night. My mushroom risotto was very enjoyable and my partner said his chicken parmigiana was the best one he has eaten in a very long time. I must also mention, I took half of my risotto home and had it for dinner tonight and it was even tastier! However, what stood out for this dining experience was the delightful young man who waited on us. He was so attentive, well mannered and helpful. Hats off to Christina's both for their food and their staff.

Entree brought out with main meal and we were informed that’s how they do party/ group bookings. Waitress was extremely rude and obviously had no idea of ““hospitality “ constantly leaning over and between each of our group without any manners at all. Very poor reflection on the restaurant . Needs training in customer service ASAP. Food was tasty but very small portions. Wouldn’t visit again.

Food is dame nice and oneof the best place i have eaten at and not a rip of like some place s a round vic park

We visited here Saturday night for the first and last time. The dip trio tasted like it was scooped straight out of a kraft tub and placed next to the dry tasteless garlic bread which was apparently what was to be eaten with the dip. We were struggling to eat half of it before our main meals arrived and the waitress clumsily tried to fit 3 massive plates onto the small table so we told her to just take away the dips. My $30 rissotto was dry and tasteless and the rice undercooked, my partners chicken parmi was the equivalent to an oily Roadhouse takeaway but with a 5 star price tag. Totally overpriced and underwhelming. NEVER AGAIN

One of the best lunch dates I have been to.. food was the best and beautifully presented.. service above 100%.. half serve half price, what a terrific idea, especially when you feel an entree serve is just not enough.. my Calamari salad was perfect.. our ABC🎗Ladies group are going to make this a monthly meeting place.. nearly forgot, Christina you are the loveliest host and we so enjoyed you chatting with our group.. %

Recently I took my mother to Christinas for lunch on her 90th birthday. We were well looked after by Christina and staff. The meal was great and to our pallette. Dessert was delicious and served with a candle which made it memorable. Thumbs up for a great meal and excellent service. Highly recommended and will return. Thank You Christina🖒

Celebrated my twin sons 21st birthday with family from Perth and Victoria last night. Could not speak highly enough about the staff and the meals and service. Food was delicious and plentiful.Thank you for the enjoyable night.

Great staff nice ,friendly ,attentive , came back many times to ask if we wanted anything , really good service. Food came out quick , it was hot and they were busy , not full, but busy, tasted great , looked good, good size portion as well, will be going back again , easy parking out back as well.

Went here for lunch today and would never return. Overpriced with substandard food. Calamari tasted like it was straight from a frozen food packet (definitely not fresh). The bruschetta was piled so high that the bread underneath was wet & soggy clearly not prepared fresh as the tomatoes had no colour. Chorizo was poor quality full of fat & grizzle and dripping in oil. The proportions were massive which wasn't a plus we could barely eat a thing.
Andrew Wilkinson
Four of us in for dinner, as usual the atmosphere, food and staff were great, even tho they were catering for a huge group celebrating someone’s 60th, (?50? Maybe). Always a good night here.
Belinda Gillespie
Love the waitress the food is always beautiful and great value for money and always filling
Mike Mcdonnell
Had dinner here on Saturday night wife had the calamari salad which was good and I had the Veal Saltimbocca which was good till I found a piece of steel wool from the scourer pad in my mouth which just took the gloss off what was an enjoyable evening wife my lovely wife when I spoke with the manager she said it was from the dish washing process which I understand but it is still a piece of dirty disgusting scourer pad in my food as way of compensating us for this her idea was to give me a free coffee which was too hot. All in all this was a disappointment and I would have expect much better from a restaurant with the reputation of Christina’s.

I have breakfast one or more times a week there and the stuff is the best and the food is beautiful Best restaurant 👍👍👍💪💪💪

Mains were ok but if icecream wont come off the spoon please dont use your fingers to get it off for our meal and please never reheat a desert on the microwave... not happy n wont b back

Amazing Service. The Staff was very helpful. Food was so beautiful. I have a few friends who are gluten intolerant, and I was surprised at the moment of gluten free options. I will definitely be going again.

We went to Christina's last night and I was not impressed. We sat in the front veranda and the whole dinner I could smell mould. The fans in the restaurant were full of dust. The staff were lovely but need to be taught how to pronounce things that are on the menu. For eg. Bruschetta, she kept saying Brooshetta. We ordered the lamb shanks. We got 2 and one on each plate was dry.
David Price
Large servings (Kade had his doggy bag tonight). Entrees were great. Bread was the best we have had. My steak was sublime. Service was excellent.
Patrick O'Connor
Very family friendly with HUGE servings. Menu has been recently changed but still amazing food. Reasonable drinks list and not overly expensive. Need to make a booking Fridays and Saturdays but mid week is just as good
Carolyn Cook
Been there many times. Never had a bad meal yet. Servings are huge too.

Business is obviously booming so much that this business can afford to alienate and lose customers.<br/>Good luck to you Christina, the reviews are reflective of your disdain for customer satisfaction

Utterly appalling! To say the worst restaurant meal I have every eaten is not an exaggeration. <br/><br/>The cook can not cook. <br/><br/>I should have sent my meal back but didn't want to cause a scene. <br/><br/>ordered "Our Own Saltimbocca: Chicken or Veal, with bacon, mozzarella and parmesan cream, hot fries and salad.<br/><br/>Chips under cooked should have been a red flag - if you cant cook chips what hope is there for the rest of the dish?<br/><br/>The white sauce was uncooked flour (there was no taste of any cheese so I cant call it a mornay). When I told the waiter he went to the kitchen and reported back that the Chef said it was caused by the humidity (weather rain and cold) and they had a similar problem last night! Honestly? Does he think people don't cook? I believe he added flour to cold milk and then added this to hot milk. There certainly was not roux (equal quantities of butter and flour cooked out over heat before adding the milk)to cook out the flour. <br/><br/>I have never ever had a white sauce that was pure flour in taste! There were little clumps of flour - not lumps as they weren't solid.<br/><br/>Utterly disgusting and inedible.<br/><br/>My husband had the bologainise and yes the portion was huge and the kind waiter offered a takeaway container but even that night at home when we tried to eat it for dinner we both gave up. It was sweet enough to eat for dessert. <br/><br/>Entree My husband had burchetta which looked ok I had <br/><br/>"Funghi alla Griglia (GF):Plump mushrooms sprinkled with bacon, topped with our chefs special sauce and gratinated" mushrooms with bacon and a slab of grilled cheese on top of each then drenched in balsamic vinegar (the secret sauce!). It was ok but mainly tasting balsamic which fortunately I like.<br/><br/>We had purchased a Cudo voucher and were told at the start up to what price the dishes we could choose and if more than that amount we could pay the difference. My mushrooms were $2.00 over and even after agreeing that my meal was shocking and getting the fed back from the chef about the 'humdity' I had to pay the $2.00! We should have been offered a free desert or glass of wine of something instead of being made to pay $2<br/><br/>I wish I had presence of mind to have taken a photo of my main meal so everyone could see the lumpy uncooked white sauce!

4 different dishes ordered at our table which all were very average in flavour. One pasta dish was completely void of flavour. Steak dry. Friendly, efficient waitress. Very Expensive for food hall quality. Disappointing will not return.
Catfish
Expensive and mediocre food.Poor service.Strange menu (no pannacotta, no pizza but they have fish and chips?).Seems stuck in the 80s.I won't be back and could not recommend it.

We Went here on Friday night for xmas dinner with my family and we will never return. <br/>After being seated we weren't given menus or offered drinks for close to 20 minutes. The restaurant only had 5 taken tables approx 20 people which was too much for the 2 waiter's. <br/>I have no complaints about the food, however the service from the waitress was appalling, we sat with empty plates for 30 minutes and when asked for them to be cleared I was given a very rude response which ruined my evening. <br/>I cracked my own pepper fetched my own glasses and was than given a $200 bill for 5 people with no alcohol!<br/>All in all there's 100 restaurants on Albany hwy, don't bother with Christina's!!! <br/>
Mango The Froot
I love that this place does $15 pasta for weekday lunches and Wednesday nights. Their marinara is my favourite. Though the seafood isnt the freshest, it is decent. When I asked for the hot option, I seriously am not disappointed as it really does pack a punch! I did not try the rest but my mates said they enjoyed it. Thumbs up from me ! The service is also great and you get quite a lot for what you pay for.
Junerobin02
I have to been to this restaurant three times and do not like it at all. I had the fish and chips recently cost me $40.00, I received two thin crispy fillets with barely any fish inside, a small basket of chips and salad. The bruschetta my friend had said it was just two tomatoes on bread. Parking around that area is horrible.
Georgia Palladino
Only came for coffee and cake and was just meh. Cakes were just manufactured and had an earl grey tea which came in a really thick tall glass which was quite strange. With all the options around on Albany highway I probably wouldn't come back
Food Blogger Perth
An Italian restaurant serving some big dishes. I find the food here good to average. The atmosphere and decor is ok with Christina splashed every where adding to that tacky feel. I find the food here quite expensive and probably wouldn't go back.
Natasha Burnett
Been before was great. Today on Mothers day we waited 1.5 hrs to get food wasn't busy had grilled seafood fish was mushy and had bones in it. Very disappointed
Samantha
I was very disappointment with my meal, after spending $70 on two meals one was the veal parmigiana which consisted of about 2 mouth fulls of dry life less meat and the rest was soggy crumbs. My partner ordered the miso mare which was good seafood surrounded by way too much batter and was served cold with a salad which was so over dressed the vegetables became pickled. Not happy and a large waste of money.

Decided to try Christina's on a date night when we were wandering down the strip looking to be spontaneous. Never again. Grumpy and rude waiter, expensive steaks ($50 for a steak on Albany Hwy is above average dudes, but this did not deliver) that were tiny as well as terrible. This on top of a long wait for drinks and food - will not bother to come back again, not with so many options around Vic Park.

We live local and have come to Christina's a few times now. I'm surprised it hasn't got a higher rating on Zomato as we've always had such a great experience here. Today we came in a large group for my son's birthday. I ordered the cannelloni (which was delicious) while my dining partners ordered many dishes including lasagna, steak of the day, lamb fry, marinara, veal parmigiana and lamb shanks. For dessert we ordered lemon meringue pie, sticky date pudding, and multiple affagatos. We really enjoyed all our meals, which were fresh, tasty and very generously portioned. The affagato is absolutely to die for!!! The staff were welcoming and accomodating, and the meals arrived within a reasonable time (and all arrived together, which is great considering there were 13 of us). I thought the prices were quite reasonable, but my partner thought they were a little over-priced for a cafe, for example wedges are $14 (although I argued that it's more if a restaurant than a cafe, plus very large servings, good table service etc).

Best place to eat, great full sized meals that are value for money . The staff and table service is brilliant and Christina's is a must do place to eat if your visiting vic park. Great for special occasions/birthdays. Lovely restaurant. Give it a go!
Tegan Serene Wakefield
The food is good and fast and one of the only places that I know of that sells chilli muscles. The staff are nice but unprofessional. Its like going to your italian friends house but then paying at the end.
Zabt
This food was pretty disgusting. If i wanted to eat microwaved mashed potato, i could probably do that at home. Cant think why i would though? Very disappointing. Such a great street for eating... its a shame places like this are still getting away with this sort of stuff
TheCubanCigar
Casual dining in the vic park food hub <br/>Best part- huge place with plenty of seating <br/>Must try- Christina's affogato ( so far best I've tried in Australia)<br/>Best dish on the menu- lamb.<br/>Servings very generous & possibly the best customer service on the cafe strip
Aff
I went there last night had the worst experience . Ordered calamari which was yummy however whilst ordering our main asked for pasta (fettuccini) with a creamy garlic prawn ,the food came out with a chicken fettuccini , mushroom and bacon or what so ever . This occurred as the waitress were not listening properly to what I was saying and started in Italian accent all the pasta choices which we could not understand a bit. She seemed in a rush rather bringing the menu list to us and double check. We all know you might be Italian but please to avoid such issues from occurring slow down with your information not all your customer understand your language .I have been to Christina several times and this is the worst experience .
Zoodle
Christina's always used to welcome the after dinner coffee and dessert clientele, but on a recent visit we were left very disappointed. Went to the restaurant past its peak hour and there were many empty seats. Staff got a bit miffed when we said we wanted only coffee and desserts and made us sit on a corner table next to toilets (even though there were many tables free). The table was dirty and we got ugly stares when we asked for it to be wiped. Left without ordering as it wasn't worth upsetting staff any further. Still don't know what we did wrong except to tell them we wouldn't be ordering dinner. .

I've possibly dined here over 20 times and no matter who the other people attending are its 'bruschetta and chicken saltimbocca' for all. Great portion sizes and quick easy dining (BYO also). The creamy chicken and bacon is delicious, push that to one side to allow you to start soaking up the sauces with your fries, spot on!

Great food. Always bring people here who appreciate good Italian good.<br/>Pros: Atmosphere, Friendly Staff, Food, Wine, Spag Marinara, Lamb Shanks.<br/>Cons: Calamari not crispy enough, bring back the chilli bread! :D
Seb So Crab
Ordered five dishes, the seafood entree, veal pasta penne pasta, margarita and the lamb shank. I had expected much from previous recommendations, which failed miserably. The pasta was hard and poorly seasoned- the tomato sauce tasted of nothing, the veal was heavily crumbed and was dry and bland. The fish tasted of one which was frozen for a long time, the prawn overcooked. The lamb shank's meat was slightly tough but acceptable. The disgrace was the sauce- I've had better sauce from a school canteen. If I had to sum it up, the best tasting dish was the water. Awful food for outrageous price. Go to Ciao Italia or Sebastian's Cafe, significantly better food at similar prices.

Our family had a lovely experience at Christina's tonight. The food was delicious and generous. Our waitress was warm, friendly and attentive. Everyone left happy and content.

We went to Christina's this morning for breakfast and we left so disappointed. Sat down and waited for a long time to have our order taken, we also had to ask for water. There was only one waitress on and she wasn't in the best mood. We waited for 45 minutes and didn't receive our drinks or food so we just left. There was no apology at all.

Have been coming here infrequently for years. Great that it's still the same owner and Caesar Salad is as good as the first time I tried it here. Lamb Shanks were awesome and Veal Scallopini superb. Highlight of the night is a toss-up between the amazing dessert plate and the efficiency of the Sicilian "American" waitress.<br/>Well done Christina on maintaining this Vic Park institution :-)<br/>

Disappointing.. the owner, Christina, talked herself up on the TV show Hot Plate and it's an ordinary restaurant. Husband ordered the mixed seafood platter. They use FROZEN fish!! This was confirmed by the waiter and we returned it back to the kitchen. There are fishing co-ops all over Perth!! We refused to get a replacement meal and just got a refund. I ordered the chicken pollo pasta and I have had better from a frozen meal.
Lydia
They serve big portion but food is not very good. Quality has declined but prices are still high. Not recommend this place for Italian meal.
Carol
DO not go on a Friday night, we had a booking and still waited and waited over 40 minutes for 6pm seating. It was a hot night and I wanted to leave but friend said she had heard it had upped its game since they were on a cooking show on TV.Eventually seated. loud and could not converse at all. Could listen to next tables as they were almost on top of us. Meal was mediocre, we shared a seafood platter , overpriced and cold. We sent it back and it came back very hot, even the salad. Ummm people, get it right, we left a lot on the platter as yes the meal is large. We went off to Maccas for dessert as Christinas had given us both headaches by then... No thank you .... never again.

Came here for dinner. I had the steak, not much to say. It wasn't the best I've had and it wasn't the worst. The venue and atmosphere was ok. Overall I wasn't overly excited regarding my meal at the end of the night, it did its job and filled the void. Would I go back?<br/>If I was invited by a group of friends as I was on this night, yes. Much better other options out there.
Sheila McDonagh
Overpriced and food was not good. The service left much to be desired with more of a concern for making money rather than delivering good service. Getting a drink was impossible and no split bills which was a nightmare considering we had a 40th birthday with numerous different groups of people 😟😟😟
Missy May
I have been to few Italian restaurant but I would say this is one of the best I've been to. The atmosphere is very friendly and the waitress make sure you are receipt the high standard service. I had chicken pesto - it was very delicious. The size were huge - I didn't finish my meal but I was able to take the leftover home.
Flammingmint
This place was incredible, the service was amazing and all the staff were so polite and outgoing. The food came out relatively quickly and I was utterly amazed at the portions. I got the penne Sicilian which came out in a huge plate and was filled with beautiful hot Italian sausage and olives which helped created the perfect sauce. I myself being Italian makes me quick to judge due to the perfect home cooked meals of my Nonna and this lived up to the standards of beautifully cooked food from the heart. My boyfriend got the chicken parmigiana which we were both amazed at how big the piece of chicken was. It was drenched in sauce and cheese, and not to mention the chips that came with it which were great as well :). By the end of the meal we were both so full that we had to (literally) undo our belts. We asked to check out the dessert menu which just looked so scrumptious but realisation came in we were just too full.<br/><br/>Altogether the pricing of the meals were very adequate considering you get what you pay for. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone and everyone, it was such an enjoyable experience with loving staff and I have to say well done to the chef and the owner for creating such a beautiful place for my boyfriend and I to celebrate our belated Valentine's Day dinner.

In one word, crap! We were a party of 20 so had to have the banquet, what a joke, $40 a head for food that was substandard. Other reviews talk about the huge portions, don't expect much when you have the banquet! The tasting plate was average, the starter (a choice of only one, take it or leave it) was an undercooked ravioli of small portion. The 'main' soggy veal parmigiana or chicken grigglio, the veal was hidden in an unseasoned undercooked tomato 'paste', the quantity of cheese outweighed the veal, have had better at a roadhouse with only a short order cook!. The chicken, no flavour and the breast was very dry. The salad was unremarkable. The desert, everyone got the same was a stale slice of chocolate cake that was heavy, no one finished it. The coffee was bitter. We would have been better of booking four tables of five and being able from the menu, as all the food did not come out at once. The beer list is fine unless you want a quality beer and a bit of choice.Would not recommend this to anyone, very disappointed that we had to pay $40 each for small portions of food that was most definitely not restaurant quality.
Deb
This is a place to visit if you are REALLY hungry. Serving sizes are enormous. I had the sticky date for dessert once and it was 3 slices of cake with ice cream. The food is good enough but nothing special and really we only go here when we want a huge plate of comfort food and can't be bothered to cook.
Laura Mettam
I do not recommend Christina's Restaurant in the slightest. I have been on a couple of occasions, the food was OK - however, the real disappointment lies with the owner and the way in which she manages the restaurant and her staff. It was disgusting to see her verbally abuse the staff constantly in front of a restaurant full of people, ensuring the staff feel worthless. That is no way to treat anyone, nor the people working hard for you.
Sinkas
Came here for a  pre-event meet up of table of 20odd,  I was worried by the reviews, and assumed it would be terrible,. Overall it was not too bad, it is very noisy, the servings are huge, ( ridiculously so for the kids serves) the prices are a little high, and the food is pretty middle of the road. having said that there are plenty of pubs around Perth that are far worse. The staff were pretty darned good, considering how crazy busy it was, I think if they dropped the serving sizes by 50%, reduced the prices by 25% every one would be better off.. also the beer list is shithouse
Foodie
We came here for corporate lunch. We pay $50/head and there were over 50 of us.  Drinks not included, you pay extra at the bar.Christina's menu said three course meal. But really, the entree is not a real entree, just a tasting plate (salami, feta, salad, garlic bread and calamari) they put in the middle of the table. The serve was small and not enough for everyone. Some had calamaris, some did not. The food was not fresh. <br/>Main  - Grilled fish with salad, or Steak with mashed potato, or Stuffed Turkey<br/>Dessert - Christmas pudding, or pavlova or cakes from the cabinet.<br/><br/>The main was awful. Fish for mine is fine but others complained the fish was stale and smelly. Salad was soggy, pumpkin in the salad was not fresh.<br/>I requested them to take feta cheese off my salad - they told me will put in other ingredients to make it up. however my serve came much smaller compared to others. Others had bigger portion but their hollandaise sauce was poured on the fish, the sauce was soaked in the salad as the fish was placed on top of the salad, they could not eat their salad - was too soggy.<br/>Steak - they complained the meat was not up to standard, the mashed potato was tasteless and too dry - NO taste of butter nor cream nor milk.<br/>Dessert - I ordered tiramisu - it's the worst Tiramisu I've tasted in my whole life. Look at the photos - Presentation is bad. We pay $50 each, and I have never seen such a small piece of tiramisu in my life! They cut it small, and it collapsed, no taste of alcohol Tia maria or coffee or mascaporne, who knows how they make it. Others on the table ordered cakes - they were not fresh at all, we did not finish.<br/><br/>The Christmas pudding tasted like those you buy from supermarket. The Pavlova, you can tell from its presentation.<br/><br/>Overall, we will not return nor recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Kaqrin
VERY POOR!!! Boked a table for 6... 3 of us received our food in a timely manner.. the other 3 had to wait 35 minutes more for their food.. by then we had finished eating. No apologies from the staff whatsoever. One suggested we get a discount. When I asked for one the cashier got very snarly. Never go back!!!
Serena M
Mediocre at best. The steak was overpriced and flavourless, salad served on a hot plate, and the wine too warm. Extremely loud. Service was very friendly though.
Brigit
Awful. This place is a joke. So overpriced, I just paid $27 for a bowl of penne and cream, with a few veggies thrown in and no flavouring whatsoever. When I politely pointed out that it would be good to have more than one vegetarian option I was reminded that it wasn't a vegetarian restaurant. Gee, thanks. Also, bitching about, and to, other staff members - not cool. This place just sucks, its food is really basic pub grub at ridiculous prices with snooty service. Never again.

Great food! Toilets were dope af! i would recommend this to anyone who enjoys having constant diarrhoea and the food as well. <br/><br/>Word limit helper.     Word limit helper. Word limit helper. Word limit helper. Word limit helper. Word limit helper. Word limit helper. Word limit helper. Word limit helper. Word limit helper.

Servings are big big big. There is a bit of a wait to be seated on saturday night. Superb service And average food really. You'll be coming back because of their warm and great service.
Joshua West
This is hearty Italian comfort food priced as if it's modern gourmet cuisine. Christina! Use the publicity to make people WANT to come back, $30 for a bowl of pasta isn't making me want to come back. Price it properly and I'd eat here every week.
Bite Into It
The portions here are very generous. I ordered the fish of the day and I love it. I couldn't fault the dish at all. We came here in a group of six for lunch and everyone finished their meals with nothing to fault. <br/>The service here is very friendly, staff are very attentive and polite. Considering that there's quite a few negative reviews, I loved this place. I would definately come back here again.
Kuma San
Hmm. I think I came with too higher expectation. The serving size was very generous as some other reviewers have said but I felt like it was "too much", "too little" or just average. Service was friendly.
DaleyEats
The portions at christinas are huge and the pastas and risotto dishes are airways good. You won't be able to finish the whole meal but they are happy to pack a take away.
Gambit
Gave Christina's another chance after being quite unimpressed approximately 18 months ago. Nothing has changed - uninspired food that a minimally competent cook could exceed at home. Serving sizes were generous, however would have been happier with a smaller serve of higher quality. Not recommended, will not return.
Billy J
Not to my palate. .
Sarah.hunt92
Lovely Atmosphere and service. My parter and I came here for dinner after a long day cleaning and were greeted by friendly and promt service. <br/>The food came out within 15mins and was extremely tasty! <br/><br/>The only thing I can recommend is that they remove the prawn tails before serving, it makes for a messy experience trying to remove them while being coated in garlic sauce.
Purple Bling
Lacks flavour and customer service. After dining at this restaurant for lunch, we realised the importance of reading reviews before booking anywhere! Although the waitress was initially friendly, after a request to ask a herd of children (26 to be precise) to quieten down so us full paying customers can have a conversation without screaming, it went downhill. They did attempt to quieten them on one occasion however the attitude we received with the apology was not genuine at all. The food arrived and unfortunately it was quite bland and tasteless. We were hoping for better (or perhaps a saving grace for their eatery) however it was disappointing. After learning it was the owners grand daughter's birthday party, it was made obvious that an exception to the standard dining rules was made. It would have been very simple for them to mention on the phone when booking that morning that there was going to be a kids birthday party and then it would have been our problem if we still chose to go there, however they didn't mention anything which is put simply - poor communication and total disregard for other patrons.<br/><br/>The final thing about this place was the disgusting way in which the owner spoke to a person at our table. After asking for someone to quieten down the zoo of children, it must of hit a nerve and she was nasty and rude, accusing one of us of 'being miserable' There was no nasty words spoken from members at our table at any point and I think she didn't have the skills to deal with a situation such as this. <br/><br/>All in all, we did not give them any further business that day and headed elsewhere for dessert! Highly recommend reading reviews before booking this place!

Not happy, on two occasions.. Two years ago I went here, ordered a lasagne. It wasn't very crowded and waited 45mins. My friend that I was dining with had received and nearly finished their meal before I received mine. I told them not to worry I was no longer hungry!<br/>Today I went for lunch for my friends birthday, very poor atmosphere! 26 kids creating a roar of noise and acting like monkeys. Falling off chairs, throwing things, playing chaise, yelling, high pitched laughter in an ADULT DINER. When the owner was made aware of our groups disappointment, she gave us an lecture that kids will be kids and offered to take our birthday girls dinner off the bill (which btw was a pretty sad meal that didn't resemble what she ordered on the menu). The owner never gave us a chance to speak just told us how it was and walked away. I had the lamb shanks, it was nice but yelling to make conversation to friends was ridicules! I will NEVER GO BACK! Ps. The owner needs an attitude adjustment, paying Adult customers are more important than kids that should be having a birthday at McDonalds or HJ's not in a relaxing Vic park restaurant!

Very disappointed with Owner's attitude. My sister decided to have her birthday lunch here today. Our table of 11 was more than disappointed, not to mention shocked at the Owner's attitude. There was an out of control child's birthday party next to us, 26 school aged children and no fewer than 4 adults were 'supervising' them; the noise was ridiculous, children standing on chairs and throwing things across the table and the adults seemed oblivious to this. When I spoke to the Owner, I learnt it was her grandchild's birthday party and she replied 'Don't you have kids? Kids will be kids'. I reminded her we were in a restaurant for lunch not a playground and she responded with 'you must have a miserable life'.<br/>We didn't finish our meals and left with headaches. The waitress was miserable but I don't blame her having to work in that environment, the menu is well overpriced. Certainly quantity over quality. They have no idea how to make a lemon, lime & bitters drink and the chicken caesar salad was great if you want 2kgs of lettuce and 3 tiny pieces of chicken, only 2 people at our table enjoyed their lamb shanks. Wish I had read the reviews first to talk my sister into going elsewhere...

Never again. Went here with my family for my daughters 21st. Out of 9 adults only one enjoyed their meal, one took a look at the meal and didn't even touch it. Soggy battered fish and chips. Don't know how this restaurant has lasted this long. Never again!!!!!

Lasagne? maybe in another life. Me and my partner visited Christina's on easter Sunday and from the moment we had sat down we knew we had done the wrong thing. The restaurant is dark and dinghy cheap cafe chairs and wait staff that would be better shelf stacking in Coles because their people skills are pretty poor.<br/>Now on to the important bit!<br/>I ordered a lasagne well what was meant to be a lasagne anyway and struggled through about half of it before I gave up for my own health, the sauce on the meat tasted burnt the pasta was soggy and felt like snot in the mouth there was a cheese factory on top and to top it all off the centre of the meal was cold and could only mean it was done in the microwave. It was that poor I didn't even send it back to get a new one because I just knew I would be getting the same again.<br/>My partner ordered cannelloni that came with a side salad, the cannelloni looked shop bought and the salad was premade and spooned onto the plate so it had gone soggy and lost its freshness.<br/>Another thing that I really didn't like was the fact you could see into the kitchen and its the wait staff that finished off the meals with cheese and other garnishes.<br/>The worst thing of all for me was the kitchen fridge door wasn't closed the whole time we were there and the chef was sticking hot spoons into tubs premade in the fridge and adding it to the pan so if you are vegetarian I would certainly question if you are getting on your place is suitable.<br/>I have never written a review on here before but my time at Christina's was that poor I thought I would share my experience and warn off others thinking of making the mistake we did. It has 54% for a reason

Underwhelmed is an understatement. We ate at Christina's last year and weren't impressed but hey, everyone has an off night and we gave it another go tonight. The pluses, really friendly staff, the waitress with short fair hair was great and seriously that was the only plus. The meals are very big but it's quantity over quality. Our mains arrived before our garlic bread and we said we were waiting for our bread twice , mains went away, bread came and the garlic was obviously out of a jar and slathered on the top of the bread so it was slightly burned and bitter. The mains then came after being on the pass. My pate with melba toast came and the Melba was just thick toasted Ciabatta............don't advertise Melba if it isn't and my salad was undressed so needed to ask for dressing. Another member had the fegatini...dry overcooked liver, the veal scallopini had no seasoning, lamb shanks were good, another member of the party had a chicken dish that came with mashed potato and creamy sauce which dribbled through the salad which was on the same plate, she had to remove it and it went uneaten. Other meals were ok.We had to ask for drinks, we then had to ask for someone to take dessert orders. Desserts came one member of the party never got his but it was still on the bill. N-one asked if we wanted coffee so we never had any. Had this not been someone's Birthday we would have really complained and we will not be back.

Horrible service, bland food.. From the get go our wait person was annoyed at us for walking in without a booking. She directed us to an unclean table and became more annoyed when asked to clean it for us. Her harried behaviour left us a little stunned as she whisked menus, condiments, water and glasses onto our table in an annoyed frenzy. When we asked if she was busy she just gave us a look of disdain and tersely commented "yep!" Before trying to escape to somewhere less busy. We had to coerce her into taking our order which made her more annoyed. <br/><br/>This should have given us some insight as to the quality of the food as should the tatty laminated menu! <br/><br/>The bruschetta was flavourless and oil soaked, the cannelloni was a big pile of bland covered in a pile bland (could have been out of a jar) sauce. My partner had coles oven fry quality wedges as she couldn't see anything of else interest on the boring menu. <br/><br/>Bland and expensive. Never going back.

Tasteless. We have been eyeing this restaurant off for a while as it always seems to be busy, so surely it must be good, right?<br/>Wrong!<br/><br/>Both our pasta dishes were tasteless and plain. We ordered a pesto dish and the chicken risotto, both had no flavour at all.<br/>However, the serving sizes were quite large! Although we did need to pay extra to doggy bag, on top of an already expensive meal.<br/><br/>The service was great, the girls who served us were very friendly.<br/>Although, when accepting cracked pepper for our meals, the waitress who offered left our table and never returned. So our tasteless meal was even more tasteless.<br/><br/>Will definitely not be returning to this restaurant.

Huge serving, still full the next day!. My friends and I went to Christina's on a Monday night. I was a quiet night and the atmosphere was incredible. I ordered the Fettucini dish and it looked absolutely divine! I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it but i fell in love with the first bite! Not bad for a $30 dish with amazing flavour and incredibly large serving! <br/>The staffs are very friendly as well. After dinner, we asked one of the staffs to take a phone of us and he was very cool and wanted us to pose in "gangster style". He was so funny and took amazing photos! I would definitely go back!

Great service and great food! Furious about other reviews. I've been here several times. Foods always great and friendly staff. Really big portion. Suggest to have no entree if you're not a big-eater

Horrible!. My partner and I went there on a Monday night for dinner the service was great but the food was not good at all.<br/>I ordered chicken Our Own Saltimbocca, the chicken tasted like it has be frozen and than defrosted and cooked each bite it was a horrible mushy texture. My partner ordered the steak with mushroom sauce, the steak was ok but the sauce was like water. Won't be going back!

Great Service.. Really great service. Food average/good.

Not impressed. I went there on Friday night for a celebration dinner we walked past looked promising, service was great at the start. My friend ordered the ravioli with napoletana sauce ( now this sauce traditionally has no nuts) my friend orders it as she has had it before in Italy! Not even 5 minutes into our meal she heads over to the staff and asks if there are any nuts in the dish ! They say no but then comeback and say oh the chef put pesto in the sauce for flavour! On the menu there said nothing about pesto or nuts in any of the dishes!!! <br/>Very disappointed about how it was all handled myself and other friend didn't get to eat our meal but still charged us not happy at all will not be going back !

Take it or leave it. Came here for Saturday lunch after some shopping and my friend suggested it, even though the place was empty. After receiving the meals, I realise why. We ordered garlic bread which was quite soggy (I don't think it had been cooked long enough), calamari salad and pene with pesto (vegetarian pene). The calamari was quite oily and didn't have 'that crunch'. The salad with the calamari which described an 'avocado dressing' was certainly not an avocado dressing - in fact there was no dressing on the salad at all. In the salad was a few quarters of tomatoes and about 1/4 of an avocado that was just cut up. The 'pesto pene' was not a pesto sauce at all - it was actually a creamy sauce, which we wouldn't have ordered if we had known. The pasta didn't actually have any pesto sauce in it at all... overall it wasn't too expensive (about $30 each) but not sure if I would be back again. There are a few awards on the walls from the 1990s, but perhaps things have slipped since then. One thing I would mention was that the waitress was very lovely and sweet - which made the experience much more enjoyable.

Average. After an average italian chicken parma, served with wilted lettuce, the cappucino and the sour milk topped off an evening disaster and potential food poisoned weekend.<br/>Waitress offered not to charge for the coffee. Really?? Won't ever go back.

Disappointing. After really looking forward to this dinner we were sadly disappointed. Going with the traditional spaghetti bolognese, this portion was so big it would have fed our family of 4. It was delicious but I felt sad of the waste. My husband had Chicken Saltimbocca which was very disappointing. Our two choices of wine (we were a big group) ran out, deserts were nothing special. Staff were great and very efficient.

Delicious and generous. Old school reliable Italian café.

Ridiculously overpriced meals! Cocktails weren't so great. Don't even start with dessert!!

Fantastic food, huge portions, friendly atmosphere and staff...loved the kids portions and who could go past their calamari salad or today's Father's Day special of BBQ pork ribs...to die for delicious. Love the place one of my all time favourite restaurants to go to!!!
Danni.smart
Not worth it. This place is average at best. Food quality wasn't bad, but for the prices you pay I expected better. They are fairly generous servings though. Service was also average - I got the wrong meal (both my fault and the waitress') and the waitresses were a bit rude. The only thing I loved was the affogato for dessert. Probably won't go there again

We came in particular to try the chilli mussels and requested the "extra hot" option. Highly disappointed. Could hardly taste any spiciness. And there wasn't enough sauce. The mussels themselves were ridiculously tiny inside the shells! Would come back for their delicious mango fruit whip though and to try other menu items.

Great food and service.

Absolutely brilliant! Fantastic menu with extraordinarily good prices considering the size of the meals! Felt bad that I couldn't finish my meal, it was big! But soo delicious! Service was fantastic! Staff were very pleasant and helpful and meals were served in good timing! Nothing bad to say about this place! Will definitely be returning!

Mother's Day Lunch 11 May 2014. I had lunch today at Christina's with a small group of family members. I know it was a very busy day on the calendar for all restaurants in Perth but the pressure put upon the kitchen, to serve up a quality meal to every customer, showed today. I was disappointed. The salad on the trio of dips was the same salad which accompanied the mains. (Bulk preparation with no variation at all when presented at second course.) The trio of dips had only one type of cracker/bread offered and it looked hurriedly thrown together. The dips themselves were tasty.<br/><br/>The main course was enormous. My delicious fish was smothered with a very rich tomato based sauce, which was so overpowering that the more delicate flavour of the fish was disguised. The salad (same as served with the trio of dips) filled the whole plate and the meal looked a challenge to eat when put in front of me. My fellow diners had the same complaint. Being a Vic Park local I have also dined at Christina's with a different group of friends one evening in early April 2014. That night, my friends had a similar opinion about their meals as we did today. Although edible, the food was quite ordinary and did not show that any "love" or imagination had been put into its preparation and presentation. Christina's I suggest you work more on quality, rather than quantity.

Very nice. Went for breakfast on Mother's Day without a reservation. Good service and good food with massive serving sizes. Want to go back for dinner sometime.

I found the prices a little high but serving size was massive & the risotto was delicious! Will visit here again.

When me and my friend walked in, the first waitress (younger woman with visible tattoos) wasn't very friendly, she didn't greet us and when I asked if we could get a table for two she appeared frustrated when asking if we had a booking, we didn't but there was clearly many tables available. But the service from the other two waitresses was extremely friendly, particularly from a woman who appeared to be in her late 20's/early 30's who knew the menu like the back of her hand and easily answered any questions we had about the specials or wine recommendations. She was very friendly and was happy to chat to us and make us feel very welcomed. I find it very difficult to find good service in Perth so was very pleased with her bubbly personality and product knowledge.<br/>We shared a bruschetta, barramundi special, calamari and finished with affogato's for dessert. The serving sizes were huge but so delicious we managed to get through it all! Calamari is often over cooked and chewy but this was perfect, served on a bed of a delicious avocado salad, the only suggestion I have is more avocado please! The barramundi melted in your mouth.<br/>It was a beautiful day, perfect for a Sunday lunch on their lovely alfresco area.<br/>Other than our rather rude welcoming to the restaurant, everything was perfect and I will definitely be returning. I have already recommended it to friends and on my internet blog. <br/>Thank you!

10/10 for a fantastic group booking. I had booked Christinas for a group booking of $50 , I met with Chris who was fantastic at helping plan a vegetarian Banquet menu and a Banquet it was ! Platter after platter of delicious stuffed mushrooms , fetta olives bruschetta and garlic bread and this was just our starter ! What followed next where plates of amazing Rissoto, Penne Pasta and Ricotta and Spinach cannelloni each delicious , oh and I cant forget the salads Spinach, pumpkin and pine nut , Greek & Bocconchini fennel and citrus so yummy ! Topped off with Berry Cheese Cake and coffees and we where ready to roll home ! All this for $40 per person.<br/>All of our guests were very happy with the food and the service from all the staff was amazing.<br/>Highly recommend and would most certainly use them again for either corporate of private functions.<br/>Thank you Christinas for a great night and for making the task of planning a large function effortless.<br/><br/>Sam and the team at Riverside Community School &Vic Park Adventist Church

Ridiculously overpriced. Staff were very rude, and seemed that they just didn't want to be there. Cutlery was dirty, I ordered the lamb shanks, which were mediocre, they were served with mashed potato, that had big lumps of black (rotten potato?) through it. I told the waitress, she said I'll sort it out, she never returned. Simply appalled - expensive, bad food, and zero customer service. Stay clear!

Went there years ago and vowed I wouldn't go back because of the poor/rude service. Nothing has changed ... Had breakfast there on Friday morning. Staff were rude . 4 items to choose from on the breakfast menu. Staff lacked any warmth - it was like they didn't really care. Food itself was good - very basic fare. I think the only reason people were in there was because everything else was either closed or full. Will be another long time until we go back .
MyWifeisthefoodienotme
Pricey. Servings are large but the prices reflect the serving sizes. If the serving sizes/prices were reduced I might go back but then again, the food wasn't great so maybe i wouldnt.
Food 2 Run
Nothing Special.... Carb loading for a Marathon and this place is known for its big servings.....Not a fan of Sebastian and wanted to try this place... Went with my sister and 3 kids...yes a tad rich in price however was happy to pay....Really guys nothing special, been around for so long and shame you serving same old stuff...on a positive staff really nice with boys...

I go to Christina's with family and friends a few times every year. Their food is to die for. I always get the garlic chicken pasta, it is my favourite pasta dish in Perth. It's a little pricey but well worth it for the quality of food and service.
Vicky
Ridiculously high prices! An example is the wedges which are on the menu at $14 but if you want sour cream AND sweet chilli sauce ( who doesn't with wedges) they will cost you $17!! Lots of feedback about the portion sizes being huge but I don't think this makes up for the huge prices and questionable quality.
Tony
The staff were fine but the quality of the food did not justify the rediculous high prices.
Christina Louise
So i ordered the tortlini on special. Came out as a soup! So much sauce that i had to fish out my pasta and could barely see it (no exaggeration either) overpriced for the quality to you get. Never had a nice meal here and will not go back!
Hine Broughton
Can not believe how awful the breakfast was?!? Honestly worst breakfast ever. The bacon came out cold and powdery. And then to twist the knife further, you still have to pay $46.00 for an un eaten meal. Don't waste your time or money on this place, just awful.
Emma Louise
Overpriced!!. Creamy garlic prawns were not nice at all.. Especially for the price, atmosphere isn't great either.. Defiantly won't be returning here!. The whole menu seemed very over priced.
Nate Frank
Love it. Only been once, great no fuss Mediterranean food good flavour and huge portions. I loved this place had the Fritto Miso and best I have had in a very long time. Beats the majority of italian places in Melbourne and thats saying something. People have given this place some bad reviews, but give it a go I was not disappointing and I am a hard to please foody
Ashleigh Dunn
Best spaghetti bolognese and lamb shanks!! Definitely recommend those dishes
Shathiesh
I came here for a friends birthday and thought that i would enjoy the food.. firstly we had a horrible service from one of the staff, secondly the ordered food came out wrong, thirdly that same staff started throwing spoons on our table..<br/>Even when the food came out wrong, we thought the food will be fine but it was horrible..<br/>The only thing good was the service of another staff and the corona's and also just the bruschetta.. im definitely not coming back..
Andrew
Have been here many time s before. Went again today expecting the same great restaurant and was very disappointed. Had the fettucine which wa s cold and sauce was badly seasoned. Tasted like one out of a packet. My wife had the calamari salad which was overdressed lettuce with cold soggy calamari on top. Service was rushed and very unfriendly. Cashier didnt even say thankyou when we paid the bill. Once would have recommended this restaurant highly....not anymore
Kiara
Lets just say a award winning restaurant that cant cook pasta I received a ravioli with burnt nap sauce basically I could of made a better pasta dish using a jar!! Poor service and personally brought it up to the waitress and the matter got pushed aside wouldnt bother wasting time going there absolutely disgusted
Bec
The worst !!!!!
Perth Foodie
With its ridiculously huge portion comes it's ridiculously huge price tag.<br/>I like this restaurant but agree flavor can be worked on (ie way too creamy on the con polo etc).<br/>Love the garlic bread but don't be disappointed when you see two thin slices out if you're by yourself.... But surprisingly increases to 3 thin slices if you come with an extra.. Sadly their entree portion varies depending on # of guest even tho the price remains the same :(<br/><br/>I wouldn't be running back there with all the nice new cheaper places popping up around Perth. Sorry..
