We popped in for dinner tonight, ordering the chicken vegetable stir fry and the cumin beef slices. The servings were huge and we were quickly glad we didn’t order rice. The flavour of the chicken and veg dish was great, the chicken was nice and lean and perfectly cooked (not over cooked, as it often is in a stir fry). There were lots of crunchy veg too. The only real issue was that the sauce was very very oily.
Cumin is my favourite spice and I loved the first three spoonfuls of the beef cumin dish, but really it was far too much. It was like they dropped the whole jar in there and we just felt it overpowered everything. That said, it was nicely cooked and tender. Service was ok, but not great. My partner had a glass of wine which he said was really nice and we were both very impressed by the $46 bill. We will go back again but perhaps won’t go for the cumin beef next time.

The food here is pretty good but I found it to be very oily and that can be a bit off putting. I certainly couldn’t eat more than a few spoons of my curry as it literally swam in oil. The taste, once you remove the oil was quite nice but overall just an average experience for me
Really enjoyed having dinner there.,Food were delicious and very generous portion. Loved the tofu dish we ordered. Look forward to go back and try more dishes.
Overall Good. Portion is generous, price is reasonable, taste is good. Could be improved if less oil is put when cooking. It's more Chinese than other restaurants in Vic Park
Love the food here. The beef tongue & tripe in chilli sauce is amazing (and crazy spicy too)!
It's gets full pretty quick early, even on weekdays.
It is absolutely the right place for me as a spicy food lover!!! But if you are not a spicy food lover, it does not matter, they can do less spicy or no spicy food as well!!!
WOW WOW WOW! amazing food, amazing service, glad I booked as don't think I would want to wait over an hour but if I had to wait it would be worth it. Loved it all! Well done team

My partner and I eat here 3mths ago and had a great meal, large serves fresh hot spicy and oh so tasty, the plave was packed and people were comming as fast as they were going
We returned again last week and it was and it was busier and we had to wait for 15 minutes to get a table, but man oh man the wait was worth it. I cant remember what we ordered but every dish i have had here has been taste, spicy and fresh
food was awesome, allaround spicy but tasty, if you like spicy chinese food this is the plce to go
staff was very friendly and nice.
Food took more than 30 mins to get served on table but worth the wait.
defs going back !!!!
We had amazing dinner here. We love all food this time. (but last time was so so maybe depends on day the tasty might vary) We wish this restaurant has smaller size n cheaper price dish rather than bigger size n expensive. One thing i dont understand is they charge take out container :(
Spicy, spicy, and spicy!
For you all spicy junkie, this is probably a right place for you.
my favourite dish would be the eggplant and the chongqing chicken.
If you are not good with you chilli, you might ask for a slightly less spicy version of these food.
Sit down... Order a large beer and enjoy. High quality genuine sichuan food. Staff are fantastic and serving sizes mean lots of take away. Love it!
Came to this restaurant on a Saturday evening, it was very very busy. We were so glad that we make a reservation beforehand.
We put in our order for food and it arrived promptly. All the dishes were delicious, really enjoyed the Sichuan cuisine at this place.
We ordered 5 dishes recommended by the waitress....and we left the place with swollen lips. This place is for chilli lovers!! I think that night we almost used up around one full box of tissue wiping our face and drink at least 10 gallon of water.
Great place for sichuan food with generous portions. Usually packed over weekends, good to make a booking. Have been there for lunch few times and their lunch menu is quite good and cheap. The staff is quite accommodating with the requests.
This place definitely gets busy for most dinners and there is a reason why - its pretty good sichuan food. The fish dish is amazing (the one in soup and chilli), green beans. The only one dish i thought could have improved was the lamb ribs were a bit fatty for my liking.
Great place to get your sichuan fix.
Cheap and cheerful! We shared the shredded pork in Peking sauce, satay chicken and fried rice. Pork was just a bit too much as it was just the pork and pancakes so bit too rich. The satay was delish. It was peppery and very different to usual satay but very nice. Quick service, tables are set up a bit awkward but no complaints. Would happily return. $70 with a wine and beer.
Came here tonight with friends who come here all the time for my first szechuan food experience. I was really suprised that I really liked the food although it was a little on the spicy side for me as I am not great at handling chilli but the pickled cucumbers were really cooling and paired well with all the spicyness. The fish fillet in hot soup comes in a large serving great for a big group. We also ordered the long beans which were tasty but abit on the salty side but my favourite dish of the night was the steam chicken in chilli sauce and the plum drink. Would reccomend to anyone who enjoys spicy food :)
Good food, fast service, cheap price, what else do you want?. Went to this place for a quick meal and was not disappointed. We shared two of huge bowls of food and loved it. Sure, it had chilli's in it, actually it was loaded with chilli's (what's in a name?) , but it was actually not too spicy. The service was ok, young inexperienced waiters and English is definitely not their first language, but that adds to the atmosphere. After all you don't expect first class service in a place that gives you change from $80 for a meal for two. You go here for a meal, not for a night out. We'll be back.
Anzac Day post
I was so damn hungry for Chinese since coming from fishing at Ascot. Though the food was good, the service was just appalling. We waited 15-20 minutes for water & the menu. Then a further 30-40 minutes for food. Being slapped a public holiday fee was an insult since the service was so shit. I will never return to this place regardless of how good the food is.
-----------
Best szechuan food in Perth. We have finally found a place that has our favourite foods made so nice! Thank you so much
AMAZING food. Never been much of a chilli fan but i love this. The food here is really authentic compared to other restaurants serving Szechuan cuisine in Perth. The chilli fish soup is a must order! Don't expect excellent service but the food is wonderful.
If you like food with flavour give this a try. You can choose how spicy you want it and I found at mild level it was perfect. Service was good and they gave us some takeaway boxes for leftovers. Entrees were pretty big.
Good prices, good servings and tasty..nothing flash but a good meal...
Great choice of sichuan dishes. Booked a table a week before dining for a table of 7 to arrive and were told they had given our table to a bigger booking, so we had to squeeze onto a tiny table near the front doors. No apologies or letting us know if we could move tables if one was available. Luckily the food made up for the lacklustre service.
Ordered cabbage, gong bao chicken, water boiled fish, green beans and koushuiji. All the dishes were delicious and pretty authentic except the gong bao jiding which tasted more like sweet and sour chicken and the fish which could have been spicier.
We ended up spotting a table leaving and had to move our own cutlery and bowls to the new table. Only of the staff members working was pleasant and helpful. Would try another sichuan place before returning.
Awesome !!!. Since I went to this restaurant I became a big fan of Szechuan food !
I love the hot pot fish fillet and pork trotters there :)
I miss food there :)
Almost authentic taste and seasoning, but really bad meat cut. Probably the best tasting Sichuan food (one of the main major streams of chinese food) in Perth.
if someone say they think this is not authentic, they clearly dont really know about Chinese food
but they should have chosen better meat as stated by other reviewers.
As good as Chengdu. I ordered the beef strips in soup and the Yu-Shiang pork. Wow! The chilli in the soup was hot! Very authentic :)
Friends and I travelled around China a few years ago and we spent a couple of weeks in Sichuan. I became addicted to the food and Red Chilli is a brilliant ex-pat example of a culinary tradition. I would highly recommend the food. The service was fine although being asked several times if I need a fork and spoon was a bit annoying after I said chopsticks were fine. $46 for two dishes, rice for two and jasmine tea. Reasonable, and enough to take home for lunch the next day.
One final thing, traditional Sichuan cooking uses a fair bit of oil. Don't be surprised when you get it in a dish.
It is a very cosy place, all the waitress r very friendly, introduce the diesels with patience and sweet smile, service is the best to compare with other Chinese Restaurant. The Szechuan crisp chicken and boiled oil fish is real real same flavour and experiences when it was in China, very good Chef and good restaurant to go if you r a Szechuan dishes lover, but If u r looking for Australian Chinese dishes,i am not recon to go this place : )
Non Western Chinese yum. Generally I find most Chinese restaurants stodgy greasy and cooked for the western palate. The red chillie is none of these it is authentic Chinese szechuan every mouth full was an pleasurable experience. Give it a go,really nice wait staff to!
Great flavors good service. Loved the flavors and this is how I remember Chinese food in India :)
Very authentic very Szechuan....also loved the Plum juice
My impression of Perth Chinese restaurants (HK style bland and sweet food) has changed thanks to Red Chilli :)
Very authentic Szechuan cuisine. Always want to find a AUTHENTIC Chinese restaurant and this is it!
Very Chinese decoration, the taste is just so much like in China - sorry if u r not a big fan of authentic Chinese food this is not the place u should come - will come again for sure :)
Authentic. I ordered beef brisket and bamboo sheet three times in a row. Nothing to compare. Just perfect.
Very authentic & the flavours are just right, not too spicy nor too salty.
Great Szechuan flavours! Could be a little more spicy.. but great place to go with a group and share some their more pricer items on the menu.
Great, Authentic Szechuan Food. If you (like many of the reviews below) cannot appreciate authentic szechuan food, then please stay away and leave this place for those of us who can. Go and find a Han's somewhere to eat at...
Many szechuan dishes are cooked using boiling oil, so many of the dishes will be oily!!!
If you like chilli, however, and don't mind a bit of oil, then give this place a try. Without a doubt the best and most authentic szechuan in Perth.
We first tried it just after opening, and since then have been back once a week on average. The service is generally very good, the food is always exceptional.
The fish in hot oil and chilli is highly recommended.
Food is good! Service is good! I will go often. I like the pork belly!
Food is great and service is pretty good! I had a birthday party there and my friends and the staffs gave me a surprise! Lovely restaurant and must be back next time!
Very nice food, though serving time took a bit longer, but overall still happy with the taste. The prawn surprisingly very fresh:) will definately come back to try other foods:)
Really authentic Szechuan food. Love it! Wish they will expand, really crowded
Good Szechuan food. Beautiful
Friendly staff and the food yum and reasonably priced. Small menu but I think sometimes that's a good sign. Authentic Szechuan food according to my other half who has been to China. We'll be going back.
