Reviews Eastwood Garden Peking Restaurant

It was busy on a weekend night which was a good sign, and they did not disappoint. Annoying thing is it's cash only. 😑

The vegan dumplings were presented nicely and very tasty also! Craving them again! We also got a veg hot pot which was scrumptious!!!! And another mushroom dish which too was lovely, but not as good as the others. Overall, everything was great and worth getting again.

There are so many Asian restaurants in Eastwood, it often gets difficult to see through them all and find the good ones. Eastwood Peking Seafood would be one of the good ones on this side.

My go-to place for delicious Chinese food. Me and the family have been coming here for years for their seafood dishes and other stir fry tastes that you can't get from the other Chinese restaurants around the area. I particularly enjoy their Vermicelli Crab and their Wasabi Beef.

They also have a really cheap deal past 2pm as well, which is great if you're having a late lunch. The seafood of course is a tad expensive but then again what seafood isn't? Definitely worth coming for a meal in my opinion, especially if you're feeling like Chinese food that's not Shanghai-style.

One of our go to places in Eastwood when we want dumplings and hot and sour soup. Food tastes good, portions are generous and it's cheap. They do afternoon tea specials from i think 2pm where from a smaller selection of their menu, the food is $7.80 and you get a drink with it for a little bit extra. The portions for this are quite big too, so a very good option for a late lunch.

The Eastwood Peking has been around for many years.  Located at a corner of Rowe Street, near the famously busy crossing to the pedestrian mall,  it has a narrow frontage, a deep inside and a narrow place for customers to queue up, but under cover.   On a recent visit, I find the staff are well trained,  well costumed and with smiling faces for guests.   We commenced at 6pm for our table meal but there was the expected queue by 7pm.   The street outside can be busy with people and vehicles but one does not sense it.   It is worth reserving a table here instead of just walking in, especially at the usual meal times on busy nights. Two years ago, this restaurant went so called green in the selection of electrical generation choices.  It also renovated by converting to LED lighting.

Came for lunch on weekend. They have set menus for $8 for 1 or $20 for two which is great value. Menu includes choices of soup, rice or noodle dish and dim sum/dumpling. Food was decent for the price but definitely MSG used. Service was quick too. Unrelated to the restaurant - parking in Eastwood is a nightmare!

Peking is one of my family's favourite local Chinese restaurants. Food is usually pretty quick to get to the table after ordering, the food always tastes good and the price is very decent. Also another plus, this restaurant is open 365 days of the year. We've come here one Christmas when there were no family plans on Christmas Day, we've also come for a few Chinese New Year reunion dinners over the past few years. If you plan ahead and know what to order it can be a really good meal and experience.

Some family favourite dishes include the Peking Duck, Shandong Chicken, E-fu Noodles (amazing texture), Salt and Pepper Prawns, Deep Fried Pork Spare Ribs with Spicy Salt and Peking Pork Spare Ribs.

I loved the service here. Very attentive and good manners.

Ordered the peking duck which was good, sizzling steak and fried dumplings.

I would definitely come back here again.

Amazing food at reasonable price, that is how a Chinese restaurant should be.  The restaurant wasn't big and in a narrow shape.  As expected the service could be abrupt sometimes but what's lacking was made up by the good food. We ordered barramundi once and it was live from the fish tank. They showed it to us in a bucket when the fish was still flapping violently.  We tried peking duck two ways with fried noodles, it was very good. Of all the things we tried on many occasions, the only thing I didn't care for was the battered prawn balls coated in honey. It was way too sweet for my like.  Overall a cheap and cheeful Chinese restaurant with consistently good food!  Recommend it!

The restaurant name makes no sense because Peking or as it's called these days, Beijing, is inland. An inland restaurant specialising in seafood? No! It must be a Cantonese run restaurant trying to pass as Pekingnese. But no matter about the fakery. Because the food is good!

Quick, quick summary upon our last visit --

Peking duck (1/2 for $26.80) - delicious, want more! Skin was juicy and crispy. The pancake was nicely steamed, good flexibility, a nice accompaniment to the oh so juicy duck.

Pan fried pork dumplings ($9.8) - unlike the Japanese gyozas so popular these days, the dumplings were HUGE. Big, fat, juicy, tasty pork dumplings. And it is exactly what it says on the box. Pork dumplings. You won't get anything else inside these babies except fatty, juicy pork. Crunchy bottoms, soft top. Very nice.

Combination beancurd hotpot ($17.80) - we needed something to balance the richness. It worked. Not the most amazing hotpot I've ever had, but it did the trick. The hotpot was loaded with goodies, but the dish needed a little more seasoning.

Overall, worth the visit if you're in the area. Mmmm, duck...could do with some more right now!

This restaurant has been a long family favourite - whether for their afternoon tea options ($7.80) with optional upgrade to a pearl milk tea (~$1 extra), or as a place for dinner with family or friends. Service tends to vary since they have a revolving door of uni students working there but food is usually decent.

The Peking duck here is delicious, probably my most favourite in Sydney, however the rest of the dishes are a little bit bland for my liking.

It's okay for a Chinese meal. Service was a bit slow. The roll Peking duck thing was good! Staff speaks minimal English. However, definitely packed during dinner every time I come here.

Being a local to the area we usually come here for a good Chinese meal that hits the spot. Only thing I would say is the floor and chairs are dirty but the food is pretty good. We ordered fried fish, peppered beef, crispy chicken and Sichuan chicken. The fried fish was a bit oily compared to the last time and the texture of the fish wasn't as good as the last time I had it and the peppered beef was nice and peppery however I would of preferred the sizzling beef or shredded beef instead. The crispy chicken was too dry to eat and needed a sauce to go along with it. The Sichuan chicken was nice and spicy but also a bit oily. Would recommend this place and a booking is essential as it gets packed.

Our favourite Chinese restaurant.. You're hard pressed to spend more than $60 here, on food for two people. And what you get for your money is delicious and authentic food. I have been here at least 10-12 times now and will continue to come back. You don't come for the service in any Eastwood restaurant, the food is what you judge them on and this place wins hands down for me. Compare this to a meal we had at Mr Wong's for $180 (no drinks), whilst the service was fantastic, the food was no better.

On a particularly hot Friday that Monsieur Poisson had off work, we ventured to Waterloo in search of some lunch. This has become an increasingly favoured area of mine in recent years to dine at or just to browse through places like Fratelli Fresh and Mac

One of my favourites. This is home to one of my favourite dishes - the Zhajiangmian ('Fried Sauce Noodles') which I usually get with my family during lunch times (after 2pm) for approximately $6.50 and it comes as a generous serving with a drink - I usually get milk tea. I was devastated when they seemingly closed last year as no other place that I've tried makes the noodles quite like they do. They were only undergoing renovation though it turns out, and the last time I visited, were in the process of opening an upstairs dining area. We've also come here for a few birthday/special occasions and their dinner menu is usually quite delicious though I can't say that there haven't been some dishes that weren't up to standard - the quality is inconsistent at times.

Refurbished!. Restaurant recently underwent a major face lift; bright clean interior and even better service! Food is consistently excellent and good value for money. They're now providing fresh seafood kept live in the newly installed tanks towards the back of the restaurant. Opening hours have also been extended from 11am to 1am making it an ideal place to drop by when you get the late night munchies~ Alternatively drop by between 2-5pm for afternoon tea accompanied with their famous bubble tea for just $6.50 :) One of my favourite local cheap eats.

Good for cheap Afternoon Tea.. Service has never been anything but brisk, efficient and even friendly for this eater. As Northern Chinese dishes are now offered in numerous Chinese restaurants in Eastwood and at around the same price, their lure is a cheap $6.50 afternoon tea special with a bubble tea drink, chosen from a Chinese menu from 2-5pm.
Other dishes are average, Peking Duck,is good and not too expensive. Wall, tables and dishes are clean, but yes, toilets are downstairs.

We ordered 3 dishes yesterday. All arrived in reasonably quick succession. Waiter/waitress are polite & responsive. Food are good quality with a very competitive price. The boss was very helpful & eager to offer his service. We usually dine there once every 1-2 weeks. Unlike some eateries in Eastwood, it has its own washroom. It never disappoints us.

We used to eat here frequently pre-Covid and just recently went back. The food is still as good, service excellent. Dishes are priced so reasonably, in fact we were surprised that they hadn't put up the prices. What we love about the food is that it is not overly salty like in a lot of other restaurants. Certainly our go-to for Cantonese dishes.

Peking duck was good, the price was reasonable at around $50 with a second course of either noodles or San choy bow. The service and cleanliness could be better and then I would be happy to give 5 stars, something for the staff to work towards.

I got shocked when they charge me extra money when I asked more cucumber for whole Peking duck set. They literally give people 12 tiny cucumber sticks for a whole duck set, and my fried rice and steam fish was forgotten by them.
